Speaker 2 (00:13):
Welcome to us CHO Edge for Friday, November one, twenty
twenty four. I'm met Trevsker alongside Jim Connelly and Dan Rubin.
There's some great East West games to get to and
we're going to do that in the first half of
the show today. Probably the one the most people have
been looking forward to, including that one USCHO Men's Division

(00:34):
one Ice Hockey poll voter who has been voting Cornell
number one since the preseason poll. It's North Dakota traveling
east to play at Lina. The money line on this
North Dakota is minus one twenty. Cornell is minus one
ten over unders five and a half.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Yeah, I'm all note quota on this one heavy too.
This is one that I would actually bet if I
was betting, because I just think the lines off. Cornell
is playing their first game of the year. I know
they're at home, so you get some advantage in the
line when you're at home. But the reality is now,
what's code has played a.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
Few games, they have them under their belt.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
By December, might these two teams be pretty evenly matched?

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Maybe?

Speaker 1 (01:18):
But right now I just look at this one nice
I say, I'm going with the team that's actually played
games and has some experience under their belt.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Yeah, I'm with you, though I would like to point
out I was not the voter. Despite being the put
Cornell number one.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
It was not me.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
I have not put an ECAC team number one in
the country since Quota piac A couple either last year
or the year before, whatever year they had that thirty
one in whatever season, right.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
When they won a national championship. Yes, I think you
probably wrote the number one. I think I had the
year before that. I think I had the year before that.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
I think that was the year I said they were
going to finish third in the league and then they
won the national championship, so two years ago. But here's
my thing about this matchup, and this is the only
thing that I think gives Cornell a significant chance is
Ian Shanan goal and the defensive strategy that Cornell might deploy.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
For the first game.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
And I actually, at the beginning of the season was
looking down and I couldn't believe Ian Shane it was
back for another year.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
I thought he was gone and operated my.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
Entire preseason expectation around Cornell as being the regular season
champion this year in ECAC without him, and now you're
adding him, and I think that with him, he's one
of the best goalies in the country. So I do
think there is a path to Cornell winning this game.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
I'm not sure if it happens now.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
The one that I would look at is getting good
value is maybe in this game is the under at
five and a half, which is, if Cornell playing well.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
At home, you get plus one hundred on the under.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
I can see this being a three to one game
or a two to one game because Cornell historically and
we don't know what they're gonna look like this year,
but is one of the better defensive teams in the East.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
So I would look at value on the under.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
The money line, I'm a little more red colored glasses
where I would say I wouldn't. I'm not sure I
would bet North Dakota at minus one twenty, but I
would definitely look at the under here.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
I don't even think I can go there. I think
North Dakota's going to score goals. There's something rough about
coming out on the true opening night and making sure
that your defense has already buttoned up and all that
sort of stuff. It's where I think the Ivy's get
such a distinct disadvantage to not play for the first
basically the first month of the season. We're gonna be

(03:32):
in November when they play their first game, and I
know they had an exhibition, but it just feels weird
that a team is this far behind in terms of
development of their players because they haven't had the chance
to go out there and execute on the ice.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
So yeah, I.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Don't feel anything for Cornell right now. I don't feel
anything for the under. I think this is going to
be something like a five to three type of game.
I don't think it's going to be clean. I think
it's gonna be sloppy, and you know what, Dakota might
be able to take advantage of some sloppy mistakes.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
Cornell opened two years ago at Duluth and got swept
both games.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
One of those games hit the would have hit the
under on five and a half.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
Last year they swept winning against Duluth at home, and
both of those games would have hit the under. So
of while I agree about the Ivys and we could
easily do a three hour dissertation about it, this is
a team that Cornell is more for me the exception
than the rule. When we call about the when we
call out the ivy's and how they start. They have

(04:33):
been good right off the jump in the past, and
I think they have enough in the tank to be good.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
I don't know if they have enough to win this game,
but I do think they'll be good.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
I just I don't think of Duluth right now, especially
last year's team, as being in the same class as
North Dakota Fair North Dakota is going to do. They
can score goals, and I believe they will score goals.
Two quick points.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
One. You make a really good point, Jim about this
being the first game. If you talk to coach is
there's some aspects of a team's game that you really
can't feel out until they are actually in a game.
Is this power play unit going to work? Do we
have the right penalty killers? How are freshmen going to
react to the spotlight? All of that is something new
and that really counts against Cornell in this the other

(05:19):
part of it, there is a slight favoring of the
over in this one. And I go with you on Jim,
Jim on this one too. For the reasons I just
said sloppiness. You could it just takes a couple of
blown coverages and all of a sudden, it's a four
to one game, and that can happen if you're a
little sloppy, as teams tend to be.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
In the first game, four one still hits the under.
That's true, though, Yeah, give me hit the other.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
I will stand on miss hill. First time we've ever
really had a disagreement on this. I will stand on
this hill.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
We'll find out history would suggest for the reasons you
said that the under would be the case. But again, well,
I'm sure doubt whether getting a month worth of legs
under you makes a difference or not.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
Let the next text message on Friday.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
I'm sure there won't be one late night Friday that
says which one of us was wrong?

Speaker 3 (06:13):
You owt me to send one. I'll probably be awake.
I focus on other things on the weekends.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
I have the weekend off. I'm gonna watch a lot
of college hockey that I don't get to watch the
rest of the time. Michigan and Boston University be hosting
the Wolverines. Boston University minus one fifty four. Michigan is
plus one twenty. It's a lofty over under of six
and a half.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
This is a tough one for me. I like the
fact that Bu's at Flume on this one. I actually
love the way B is played most of the season
thus far. Every game that I've watched it there is
they're pretty complete. Do they make mistakes?

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (06:48):
And can they be a little early season sloppy as
we just used the word with Cornell. Maybe I feel
like they've gotten enough under their legs. I think this
is a great series for one thing. If I if
somebody said I had to bet this one, I'd take Michigan.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
I don't know about the over though. I don't like.
I don't six and a half.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
I hate that number because I feel like four to
two is just screaming. It's head off, like three to
two aall game, maybe an empty night, or four to
two that's going under, but all you need is one
bounds to make it four to three and then the
game goes over.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
I wouldn't touch the over under in this game.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
I think the only thing drawing me to the over
under is the over under a five and a half,
which is that there's plus values to be had on
the under, which if this could be a four to
one or four to tier type of game, the plus
one hundred makes me more apt. If it were minus
one hundred minus one fifteen, I wouldn't touch it. But
I think the fact that it's on the right side
for me of quote underdog status, then that makes me

(07:48):
more likely to at least look at it and give
a long, hard thought about if i'd want to throw
some to throw something down on it. That's not pizza money,
Let's throw something down on it. I look at the
odds in this. I think minus one fifty four is
tough odds for BU against the Michigan team.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
In terms of gambling.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
I think BU is likely going to win this game,
at least one of them.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
I don't love the fact that they would be.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
There's to me, there's not as much money to be
had against the Michigan team when they're minus one fifty four.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
There's too much possibly to throw down on that.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
Michigan being plus one twenty is where the smarter better
might look at it and say, hey, this Michigan team
could make me more money if they win. But I
don't really know if Michigan's gonna win on Friday, so
that's not something I'm confident in throwing down.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Way too big of an if for me too, Yes,
I don't like if that.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
I just don't see necessarily being decent.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
Ifs this is BU and I want at home, I
say that.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
And how many times do I say, if I have
to take the road team in a two game series.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
I'm going to take them on Friday night. I know
I say that.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
A lot, but I don't know. There's something about right now,
the way they're playing. Both coals are really out there,
Hutson and Eyeser. They're playing some of their best hockey.
We'll say on this one, but I this would honestly
be a game that I would probably stay away from entirely.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Yes, Okay, Boston College is the lone East team traveling
West in our group of games this week. BC is
minus two point fifteen at the home underdog Saint Cloud's
State Huskies, who are plus one sixty five over under
is six.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
I'm shocked by the line on this one. I thought
it would actually be a lot closer. I just think
Saint Cloud's a lot better team than being given credit
for what they're playing at home.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
I get it.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
I would have liked this line maybe if Boston College
was at home. I just don't I don't like it
where it is. I don't know that Saint Cloud will
win this game. Can they win this game one hundred percent?
We saw Western Michigan take BC to the brink at
CONTI last weekend. Now they're going into Saint Cloud, into

(10:06):
Herb Brooks Ice Arena, and I feel like this is
one If I was going to bet it, I would
probably put the money on Saint Cloud here, simply because
of the fact that the numbers don't seem to align
very well. I don't think that BC should be a
minus two fifteen favorite, no value there, so I'm not
I would never be taking BC. And I just think

(10:27):
that the value on Saint Cloud there are six and
one the hockey team, and I know that they maybe
haven't played enough of the right competition to get thrown
up there and say, hey, oh yeah, that they're an
unbelievable team. But I still think that Saint Cloud has
perennially been good. Yeah, I just don't I don't feel
like there's a good reason to really just discount the

(10:51):
Huskies here.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
I think they need more credit. I would bet Saint
Cloud here. Yeah, I don't think it's a difficult bet.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
I will say that I'm not sure that Sank Cloud
would win this game because BC's been playing so well,
especially down the stretch of games. In the Western Michigan
game was a big part of that, where they've gotten
significantly stronger as the game has gone on. Saint Cloud, however,
has been a very good team at the beginning of games,
I think, with the exception of the one of the
Michigan games, but they have scored goals early, they've done

(11:18):
a really good job of capitalizing. There is one factor
here that I think really makes me not love BC
as a bet at minus, specifically at minus two fifteen.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
Like that to me is I.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Wouldn't tell if I'm not betting Saint Cloud and I'm
not betting this game, and I'm betting sant Cloud if
I'm a betting man, which take it from where it's worth.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
It's an Olympic sheet.

Speaker 4 (11:40):
Herbrooks Arena is a bigger sheet of ice, and there's
no way for a team like BC to simulate that,
to get out on that ice until they're out there
for practice. If you're out there, you're trying to talk
about different concepts, but in execution, it's a very different
thing to get out there and play in it, and
it's the first game of the weekend against say, a

(12:02):
very good Saint Cloud team, So this is.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
One of those I'm with you.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
You always say if the road team's gonna win, they're
gonna win on Friday. I think this might actually be
the opposite, where I think if BC's gonna win a
game this week, and they're gonna get acclimated on Friday
and then come out and win on Saturday. So I
don't know that this is a game that I would
bet BC on. They could very easily in any game,
go out and win, that's not a question, and have

(12:25):
it be believable.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
The other number I would throw out here is the
over under of six.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
I don't know how much I love that number if
I'm looking at it either like, I very easily could
see this go three to two or five to four.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
This is again a.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
Lot's going to be based on how BC adjusted playing
at Saint Cloud, So I might stay away from this
one altogether.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
I actually can't stand any of the lines on this.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
Even if you're looking at a puck line, BC's favored
one and a half.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
I don't even think they might win the game. Why
would I think the puck line. Yeah, I want to
go back.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
I know you said that something about the Michigan game
that they fell behind earlier.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
They didn't.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
They actually didn't give up a goal in the lost
to Michigan until the third period period. They're five and
ohero when leading after the first period, two and oh
when leading after the second.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
They're a pretty solid team out of the gate.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
I think that I like a lot about Saint Cloud here,
not that I don't like Boston College. I see them
a lot, and I know, having called their game against Western,
they can put themselves in foals and dig out. But
you have to be careful with this one. If you're BC,
you can't fall behind three nothing. This is not a
team that's going to give up a lot of goals.

(13:34):
So I guess I still have to. Really I'm trying
to talk myself out of Saint Cloud and going to
yor maybe don't touch this game approach, but I can't
talk myself out of it.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
I would take Saint Cloud here all day. It seems
to be the best value of any of them. We
don't know, doubt, don't value They're right. Yeah, we're going
to take a break.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
We'll look at a couple of league games in a
couple of different Western conferences, plus this week's pizza game.
When we return on Usccho Edge, we're back with us
Echo Edge. We're going to start with a game in
the CCHA. Minnesota State is at the Midgie State the

(14:13):
Mavericks or minus one sixty the Beavers plus one twenty four.
The over under on this is a fairly stingy five.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
Over under a five. I don't think I can bet
anything except over. When I see the over under of five,
I know that we have plenty of one nothing, two
to one, three one even three two games that would
push it, four to one games that would push it.
But I just I can't really look at this and
not say just take the over. Wellhy not the line

(14:43):
of the game too close. I do Minnesota State in
this one, but they're on the road.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
It makes it that even more difficult to navigate. So
if I'm betting this game, I'm just taking the over.
Here there's a straight bet on the over.

Speaker 4 (14:57):
Yeah, I'm with you. And anytime I'm talking about home underdog,
I'll take the home underdog. It's to me, it makes
it very simple that these are two teams that have
defensive mindedness.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
Bmidge is one of those teams that we look at
on the back end and think that way. But it
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
It just seems too easy to look at this game
and say over and Bmidgie at home.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
So that and this is where I come back to.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
This is where you can actually see where the computers
and where the lines are set that the algorithms tell
you exactly what you can expect from a game. And
this was something I said a couple of weeks ago
in our first our first episode. If you're not gambling,
and like we've said repeatedly, you can look at the lines,
and you can look at the over unders and see
how you're supposed to perceive or expect a game when

(15:45):
you go into it. And the fact that the over
under is five, even though we're sitting here saying, no way,
this is going to be under five, Like that's a
one nothing to one game, three one game. You can
look at this game and expect, Okay, we're gonna see
a lot of defense, we're gonna see a lot of goaltending,
and Minnesota State.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
Probably has a slight edge right now.

Speaker 4 (16:04):
So those are the things that you can look at
this game and take away and say, all right, that's
maybe what we should expect. Would be a one goal game,
a three to two type of game, or a two
to one type of game. I should say, because three
to two would hit, the would split and it would
push the over under.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
Let's move on to the next one, which is Wisconsin
and Notre Dame. The Badgers are slight underdogs at plus
one ten Notre Dame minus one forty. Over under in
this one is five. So teams always need a get
right game. But right now I look at these two

(16:41):
teams and figure out who needs it more. Does Wisconsin
really need this to get their season back on track?

Speaker 3 (16:49):
Probably? They're now one win.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
It was an overtime win over Lynden would an exhibition
game win didn't matter, but they lost to any where.
They got swept by Ohio State, they got swept by
Denver last week. They'd lost four in a row. They
need this pretty bad. But doesn't Notre Dame need it too?
After losing to LIU, becoming the first Big Ten team
to lose a game against LIU. Which team needs it

(17:16):
more is the big question? And then you go into
who's at home? So I guess the favorite here. Notre
Dame is probably only favorites because they're at home. I
think if this game was played in Madison, it would
probably be the exact line reverse. Maybe it's plus one
twenty and minus one point thirty.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
I don't know, but I.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Don't see this as an easy game to pick. It
makes some sort of a wager on this game. Just
go with your heart, because this is one that it's
hard to set a line.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
Both these teams really need this win.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
When you're trying to gamble on two teams that have
and I don't want to say that Notre Dame's been bad,
they just took a bad loss last Saturday. I feel
like I like the home team anytime you have to
just pick between the two. But it's now a conference game,
and I think that's also important.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
These two teams very familiar with one another.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Conference games make a whole lot of difference when it
comes to a hi you should wager as opposed to
non conference games.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
I think whoever loses this game is looking get the
rest of November and saying, oh yeah, I think this
is a don't lose both games this weekend, because that
could be really bad Minnesota, Penn State for the next
couple of weeks, for Wisconsin over before they play Anchorage
at home during Thanksgiving, that Notre Dame is Michigan State
and Minnesota before they go to Belfast. So whoever is

(18:40):
going to lose this game, don't lose on Saturday. That's
the only way I can frame it. And so that's
why I'm with you. I feel alost terrible. I don't
know if that's going to come out wrong and say
I feel bad for both these teams. I think both
of these teams should be better than what we've seen from.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
Their results, and I think that even right now.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
There's also a couple things that I come back to,
which is from a wagering standpoint, Wisconsin being the underdog
has a bit of a longer way based on comments
and based on what we've seen out of performances, that
maybe they have to go. I know Notre Dame has
at least beaten Carton, so there's a little something to
build on for Notre Dame being at home too. The
other part of this that is difficult for me to

(19:23):
wrap my head around is that Notre Dame has always
gotten better as the year has gone on. Over the
last few years, like that's been one of their staples,
and Wisconsin came out so hot last year that this
is how do we know if.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
The Wisconsin team that we're looking at is this.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
Bottomed out, can't sustain what happened last year under type
of situation versus Notre Dame. It is just so much
in here that you just don't know. There's too many
questions marks. So I think if you want to bet
an underdog.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
Go for it. If you want to bet Notre Dame,
go for it. There's no rationality.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
I'm trying to find chicken soup from Chicken gizzards here
and it's just not going to happen.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
Yeah, I'll go back to you get to just go
with your heart on this AA. If you're get to bet,
it's going to be fans that bet this.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
This is not gonna be sharp gamblers because sharps would
stay away from this one.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
Probably this is going to be.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Mostly be just people that love Notre Dame or love Wisconsin.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
And again, if you're using this as a litmus test
for what to think of these games, you can expect
low scoring, one goal game is exactly what the computer
lines are telling you, and that Notre Dame being at
home is a slight edge two teams not being great.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
When I look at the over under, I'm of two minds.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
First of all, Wisconsin has not been scoring at all,
and they've begin giving up a lot of goals and
they've been playing a goalie tandem trying to figure that out. Meanwhile,
Notre Dame, if they can get a one or two
goal lead, can clamp things down too. You know, I'm
inclined to think maybe under is likely, But then again,
I can make an argument in the other direction.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
I could too.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
I don't think this should be a high scoring series
in general. That's just more the way Notre Dame plays
than anything. But the over under five point five, I
don't think I'd probably go after it. If I did,
i'd have to agree with you, Ad, and I'd probably
go under. But I don't like that bad either.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
I feel bad.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
We can only give the fans so many lines because
DraftKings at this point in the year is not putting
out a ton, so we're trying to give you accurate lines,
so we're not getting a lot of them, and the
ones we're getting, unfortunately this week, we're having to say
too many times.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
Boy, you get to avoid that.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
One quick question was in Ohio State last year that
we looked at and said, I'm not sure how this
team's finish a losing so many games. They just seem
so much better than what the record indicates.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
I think it was Ohio State. That's who I feel.

Speaker 4 (21:52):
That's how I feel about both of these teams right now.
Neither team, if you look at the numbers, jumps off
the page. It says this is a good team right now.
And that's why what the numbers would indicate with the
records and all that.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
But I pity the fool that has.

Speaker 4 (22:05):
To be the team that plays them in February or
early March. Like I think both of these teams, I'm
gonna if we were to take this later on in
the year, will straighten part of this out.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
Just right now, this is not one that we want
to touch.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
Well, let's move on to our last game, and that's
the Pizza Money one. And not because there is a
bad team in this, but because the odds are so wide.
It's Penn State and Minnesota. The Nitney Lyons are plus
two fifty and the Golden Gophers are minus three forty
the over unders seems perfectly placed in my mind at
six and a half.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
I agree about that six and a half. Come on,
how do you not take Penn State here?

Speaker 3 (22:45):
I know they're on the road.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
I know Minnesota is a good team, but they've played
well out of the gate. I just the numbers too big.
Lust two fifty in a college hockey game this time
of year is unheard of.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
We don't get these lines. We don't get lines like this.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
So no disrespect to the Gophers, and I think they're
probably better than fifty to fifty to win the game.
But I don't think that they're seventy thirty, which is
what this line is that. I don't think that they're there,
So I these are the types of games. As a
sharp better you're trying to look and find some edge.
You're going to be wrong somewhere around fifty five percent

(23:25):
of the time, but when you're right the forty five
percent of the time, one hundred dollars turns into what
do we just say? It would turn into three hundred
and fifty two to fifty plus.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
The one hundred you bet? I take that bet any day.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
The only thing that makes me hesitate on Penn State
is the fact that their record at four and one,
it doesn't quite match the reputation that we've known the
mass which, yeah, they're four and one, but this is
where when you start looking into the opponents. The four
wins have come against Alaska and Saint Lawrence, and when
they played Quinnipeec they lost three two.

Speaker 3 (24:05):
So for me, it's more of a how do I
feel about Penn State in general?

Speaker 4 (24:11):
And admittedly I don't know how I feel about Minnesota.
I always feel good about Minnesota and the Gophers in general,
But so I think the odds and I think there
is way too much value to ignore Penn State. But
if you really think that Penn State only beat Saint
Lawrence in Alaska, and Minnesota has beaten Saint Thomas and Duluth,

(24:34):
who's a better team and have beaten although I think
the Saint Cloud game might have been just an exhibition.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
Yeah, as an exhibition, so ignore that. But they pummeled
Saint Thomas last week.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
So to me, this is one of those Look, there's
a lot of value on Penn State. But if you're
but you can see where the numbers are coming up
on Minnesota, YEA, get be over here.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
I don't mind the over for sure. Let's go through.
We're going to take the Saint Cloud game. They scored five.
Let's take that out air Force they scored seven, Omaha
only one. But then it was seven against to five
against to lose, seven against.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
Saint Thomas, six against Saint Thomas.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
The offense is clicking for this Minnesota team, So I
guess that's where I understand where the line's coming from.
But I still, how do you It almost feels like
the makers are disrespecting Penn State a little bit. And
the one interesting thing is that a lot of attention
will be off of hockey this week for Penn State.
It'll all be on football as they play Ohio State,

(25:36):
and that's a pretty big game, so there won't be
a lot of attention on them. Does that mean that
maybe they come out and just play some really good hockey.
I know that Guy Goodewski's teams can score. I know
that they can shoot bucks like nobody else. It's now
up to Minnesota to find ways to limit those shot attempts,
to limit those great a's. I didn't find a way

(25:57):
to make sure that they score some of their own. Again, value,
I like value every time We're talking about this up,
especially on the pizza money beat, Like this is pizza money.
This is when you're taking ten dollars or twenty dollars
and trying to turn twenty into sixty or a little
more than that.

Speaker 3 (26:13):
But I like making a small bet on a really
big underdog. Yeah, this is the perfect pizza bet. I
will say that we have had some that's here. This
is probably the most perfect one we packed.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
It's not exactly a one in four team or a
one in two team that's a plus four hundred dog.
This is a team that has played decent hockey. Again,
their opponents maybe weren't as tough as everybody wants them
to be, but they gave Quinnipiac everything they could handle.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
And this is your.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
Chance to turn that medium cheese pizza into a large
meat lover's with a side of wings.

Speaker 4 (26:49):
I was gonna say, and I'm still getting red sticks
and mazzarella sticks tonight when we order pizza with them.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
We'll wrap up for Jim Connolly, for Dan Rubin, I'm
Ed Trebsker and this has been usc h O EDG
