Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, everyone, welcome back to the channel. Today, we're diving
into a topic that's been on the minds of many
Marvel fans. How can the MCU fix Galactus? The cosmic
giant has a rich history in the comics, but his
portrayal in film could definitely use some work. So let's
explore five ways Marvel can do just that. Number five
(00:21):
multiple movie appearances. Galactus shouldn't just be a one off Vielain.
Imagine a narrative are expanding several films. Similar to Theanos,
he can be hinted at in various MCU projects, slowly
building up anticipation until he finally arrives in full force.
This way, audience could really understand the gravity of his character.
One story that I personally hope they explores from the
(00:42):
Beta ray Bill series God Hunter. This story tells how
Beta ray Bill devises a plan to essentially starve our
Galactus by destroying all the planets he plans to eat.
As you can imagine, this puts him at odds with
many other cosmic beings and even threatens his worthiness to
hold Stormbreaker. This could be a great plot for a
fifth door film. Just throw that out there. Number four
(01:02):
World ending stakes. At number four, we need to raise
the stakes. Galactus isn't just any villain. He's a world eater.
The MCU needs to convey that he poses a serious
existential threat to the Earth and the universe. By showcasing
the destructure he can cause an urgency to stop him.
The stakes become much higher, making for a thrilling storyline.
Leak's rumors in hints are leaning towards Galactus actually destroying
(01:25):
universes in the upcoming Fantastic for a first Steps film
that's yet to be seen, but if true, I think
it's a great position to take. Number three. Silver Surfer Relationship.
Number three is all about the relationship between Galactus and
the Silver Surfer. In the comics, Nora and Rad makes
a monumental sacrifice to save his home. By developing this
dynamic in the MCU, we can create emotional depth. Perhaps
(01:47):
we see Galactus as a complex character rather than just
a villain, and explore his bond with the Surfer. A
complex villain with complex motives always seems to work best
in these type of films. Number two backstory U two,
we can't forget Galactus's backstory. Marvel should delve into his origin,
exploring how he came to be and what drives him.
This could involve flashbacks or even a standalone origin film,
(02:10):
giving audience is a richer understanding of his motivations and
making him a more compelling character. We missed our chance
to have a villain centric film with Kang, although Doomsday
seems to be picking up in that area. But how
amazing with the MCU storytelling b if the antagonists started
getting their own full films. The idea is a bit
well out of this world. Number one design and finally
(02:33):
number one the design. Let's face it, Galactus's appearance matters.
The previous portrayal didn't quite do him justice. A giant
purple fart doesn't invoke terror in the least bit. Marvel
needs to embrace his comic book roots, giving him a
towering or inspiring look that conveys his power. A design
that strikes fear and respecting to the hearts of heroes
(02:54):
and viewers alike is essential. It's something so easy to
get wrong, so the balance between scary and humanizing has
to be handled delicately. After all, a giant man with
a purple helmet does run the risk of coming off
silly but if done right, it will be a portrayal
of Galactus that will be remembered for ages to come.
So those are five ways Marvels can fix Galactus in
the MCU. Do you agree with these ideas? What would
