Speaker 1 (00:00):
What up though, DMF Season four is here. Episode one
is out. Let's talk about it. If you didn't check
the episode out yet, go do that. Bookmark this and
come on back and then talk with us. If you
don't care about spoilers, then just keep watching now. This
episode comes out with guns blazing, literally, with the Flannery

(00:23):
brothers under fire in Mexico. Meats. Of course, in his
normal flashy fashion, has to be an agent of chaos,
and although they dodge all of the bullets, he manages
to get bit by a snake, of all things, a
poisonous one, and he passes out. This gives us the
backdrop for the episode. We get the opener, and then
we go flash forward six months ahead. Some people aren't

(00:45):
really a fan of the forward and backwards storytelling, but
I think for the first episode is pretty good because
we get some action to know, hey, we got action,
this is going down. But we also need a story,
so flash forward we get a story. Terry's out here
doing this thing. You know, he always seems to be
teetering on the brink of destruction. Nothing's ever really going
right for him in his business. I don't even know why.

(01:07):
At this point, these guys want to be drug dealers
or whatever it is, because their lives don't really seem
that great, and I guess maybe you shouldn't glorify it,
but yeah, I wouldn't want to be in their position.
We get a lot of terry here, and we don't
really see Meets. There's this looming thing over that maybe
Meach isn't around. You don't on has seen them. I
guess they're trying to allude to the fact that he
may have passed away in Mexico storytelling wise, but as

(01:29):
the stories goes on, we'll find out more about that.
We do get a pleasant surprise in the next scene
of the episode because guess who's back. Yes, the Tyrant
himself Lamar I for one of I'm glad to see
him back on screen. I think he's one of the
most interesting and polarizing characters. I mean, they did do
a deep dive into his history, his story and that
nightmare singing voice he has. You can't stop the rains

(01:51):
in my head for months. I mean, that scene was
just amazing. It'll always be an infamous scene to me.
He does look like he almost doubled in size since
the last time we've seen them, but maybe that was
just me. Maybe he's had a few donuts, maybe he's
hitting the royds. I don't know, but it looks like
he's all cleaned up and recovered from rehab, which is
good to see, you know, rehabilitation. We love that. I
was just happy to see him back on the screen
and hoping we see him a lot more this season.

(02:12):
Lola's back is Markeisha still closing trouble for Terry everywhere
he goes. I can say that her acting has come
a long way since I first seen her in the
Power series way back when, and I kind of do
look forward to seeing some scenes with her here and there.
Even though Marchisha is not at all my favorite characters.
She's hyper annoying to me and it is what it is.

(02:35):
But she manages to put the pressure on Terry to
get into the drug business. He's like the bad News
Bears at this point. Everyone is just always railing on him.
I really don't know again why he wants to stay
in his business. It never seems like anything's going right
for Nikki, the youngest Flannery child is graduating and Tom flies.
It kind of feels like she grew up in front

(02:56):
of our eyes. It was just not too long ago
that she was getting her friend's stabbed and murderous killer,
and now she's graduating. It is good to see some
of the family dynamic on the show. Still, those wholesome
moments kind of break up with the chaos going on outside.
So I do appreciate that the riders get to throw
that in their hair and they're to kind of just
ease your heart rate a little bit. Just the note
for those who haven't been here before, and a reminder

(03:17):

know what you think. All right, let's get back into
this BMF review. One thing I can say about this

(03:40):
show is the soundtrack is fire. I'll be come up there.
They had Zappi Rogers playing in the background. If you
can't get hight to that, then you probably just don't
got no soul in your body. Russell Hornsby continues to
be one of the most intoxicating characters on screen. I
don't know why. Whatever I see Charles popco the screed,
I just smile, like the guy is just full of charisma.
You never know what he's gonna do. He's all over

(04:01):
the place. This guy is amazing, don't you guys think?
I don't know, maybe it's just me as we all
kind of figured midway through the episode they couldn't keep
Meech out of the show for too long, so he
pops up like some type of phantom ghost in the
middle of a party. But the excitement is kind of
short lived because we didn't get an appearance from Be Mickey,
like the snitch this guy really he shows up. I

(04:24):
was ready to jump in the screen and beat him
up myself. We told you never to come back here.
Be Mickey, What are you doing here? Gotta he I'm
curious to see how that's gonna play out with Meech
and Be Mickey and Terry being how he's such a
snooper snitch, but he's also part of the family in
a way. He didn't find the heart to kill him before,
so I'm thinking a reconciliation is coming. Somewhere here. I
don't know, what do you guys think. Meetch buys his

(04:46):
little sister a car, which, if that's not obvious that
you guys are doing some weird activities. I don't know
what it is, but you know, he never was want
to be discreet. But fast forward, a little Terry is
trying to get a handle on his business and all
the people who he thinks is under him. But we
get Meats coming in and they get into a fight,
an actual physical fisticuffs altercation. This to me is just

(05:10):
like kind of ridiculous, But if you know a lot
of brother stories, these things tend to happen personally. I
would have bet my money on Terry wiping the floorid Meach.
You know, just seems like he's the more sizable and
mature person. But of course plot armor Meat gets to
take him down and beats the crap out of here.
This prompts Terry to pull out a knife of all things,
like you're gonna stab him. I mean, I know you

(05:31):
guys are not seeing out of eye right now, but
that's your brother, Terry. Man. What's up? Fight's broken up?
They still argue, They part ways. I don't know where
this is going. I guess this conflict has to go
on for the show to kind of build up to
them becoming united once again. I don't know. I'm here
for the ride. Let's see what happened. At this point,
I was thinking, Eh, this episode is pretty good, but
it kind of needs something to give me a little

(05:53):
little razzle dazzle, you know, take it up a notch.
And then I got it. What do we get? Lamar
just automatically flips out when he hears Meech's back in
town and decides to go on a murder spree to
get rid of the Flannery brothers. And he tries to
do that, just out in the open, shooting guns, just
trying to take them both out, in which they join
together and run from him, as they should because the

(06:16):
man is terrifying. But he's stopped by none other than
Snitch Mickey. Yeah, b Mickey shoots Lamar and I'm devastated.
I'm honestly devastated. Why why why? Lamar is one of
the most interesting antagonists on the show to me, and
it looks like he may be there, but we know
he's pretty hard to kill. Maybe he'll get a bag again,

(06:37):
you know, for colostophy bag. But I'm really tired of
this him not dying dying sort of thing. But I
don't hope he's dead, so I kinda in this case,
I'm here for another resurrection of Lamar, like it's too early.
We need him throughout the season. He's the best villain
on the show. Is this enough for be Mickey to
get back and Meeches good graces? I don't know. He
kind of did save your life, but he kind of

(06:57):
was snitching and almost got you taken out of here,
so I don't know. For the last major scene in
the episode, we get a flashback to what really happened
when Meach got bit. Apparently he was taking to some
kind of witch doctor sorceress in the desert. I don't know,
God had chicken bones and stuff. He did a little ritual,
and damn, Meach was back back to his old self.
But Terry didn't seem to like that. He seemed to

(07:20):
think it was some kind of demonic ritual or something,
which rightfully, so you should be pretty concerned. I mean
didn't see this show taking that much of a spiritual tone,
but it did have some roots and themes of church
in there. So this is something I'm looking forward to
see if this storyline of Meech being kind of evil
possessed demonic character and Terry kind of being the light,

(07:42):
godly side of everything, I don't know, it'll make for
an interesting dynamic going forward. I hope this is a
threat that they don't just cut off and we get
to see more of it progress as the story goes along.
Not saying Meet should have superpowers, but I'm not saying
he shouldn't. Well see. All in all, I think it
was a solid first episode to bring in season four.

(08:03):
I am looking forward to what comes next. Like I said,
I will be reviewing every single episode this season, and
I might have some special BMF coverage for y'all. So
you're gonna want to hit the subscribe in the noties
and be back for all of that. But in the meantime,
let me know down in the comments. What did you
think of this episode or was it a good first episode?
Was it not so great? Are you ready to see

(08:24):
everything else? Do you think meetches possessed at this point?
Do we want to see Lamar survive? What cameos are
you looking forward to? We did see a billboard for
So So Deaf Records at the end of the episode,
which we know is Jermaine Duprez's record label. Do you
think we'll get some rapper cameos here and there? They
were heavily involved in the BMF story in real life.
If you know, you know, so let me know what

(08:45):
you think down in the comments, and see y'all next week.
