Speaker 3 (03:57):
All right, So before we really get into like the meeting,
take us of everything. You know, you both been through
the grind and now you're building some momentum. What's been
sitting on your heart and mind lately as you step
into this new chapter?
Speaker 6 (04:16):
I mean this.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
This this ay ay right, he is speaking to.
Speaker 6 (04:23):
I mean, I ain't that's crazy you asked that question
because I just recently buried a lot of people close
to me. I ain't really gonna get too much deep
into it, but I'm gonna just I'm gonna just say
I just like buried a lot of people close to me,
and like one of those people was one of my
biggest supporters, which was my mama. You know what I'm saying.
So you can just imagine from me saying that what's
(04:45):
going through my mind right now, you know. But other
than that, Man, you know Ryan, you know, I'm trying
to stay up.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
So Man and Micadoless.
Speaker 5 (04:59):
Appreciate it.
Speaker 7 (05:00):
And dead and dead, what about you, a hitler?
Speaker 3 (05:06):
Say, come again with the question what's been on your
heart and mind lately as you step into this next chapter?
Speaker 8 (05:14):
Oh well, just just just gaining gaining the support and
the and the and the love from the fans, from
the from the good product that we're.
Speaker 5 (05:22):
Putting up right on.
Speaker 9 (05:24):
That's all, just just just wanting to continue to the
push forward and and and put our originalue.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
Yes, sir, So you guys known each other for fifteen.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Years, How did this friendship first begin and how did
it evolve into what we have today?
Speaker 2 (05:41):
As with this.
Speaker 6 (05:42):
Collaboration, like seeing like I used to like recall to
a studio with some guys that uh that he was
affiliated with. You know, he was away at the time
while I was at that same studio he recording that.
So when he when he came home, you know, he
started you can call him the same studio. So I
(06:03):
really started seeing him through passing at first. But the
dude who like the engineer was, you know, he eventually
you know, you know, linked this up or whatever like that.
Then we like, you know, we ain't got like clothes
like right then and there, but you know, through passing,
throughout it, through passing, no saying, then after that we
(06:24):
develop an outside relationship, like outside of the studio and
stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Right all right, Hey, that's one of like the funniest
things about black guys. You know, we could pass each
other for like three plus years without striking a conversation,
but it takes one person.
Speaker 5 (06:44):
So the same time, yeah, yeah, I ain't even cut
you off.
Speaker 9 (06:49):
But I was about to say, at the same time,
we'll be paying attention to each other, because you know,
it was like minded people who got there.
Speaker 5 (06:55):
They gravitate towards each other.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Right on what you think that is?
Speaker 9 (07:02):
It's just I think it's just just just uh just
guarding your energy.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
I'm just gonna.
Speaker 5 (07:10):
Making sure you're letting the right the right energy in inside.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
George, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
So you guys were just passing each other, the engineer
finding linky to up.
Speaker 10 (07:24):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
And I guess you guys kind of got acquainted outside
of music, uh first or did that come later?
Speaker 6 (07:33):
Now? The music, the musical relation came. You know, got
you we had we we we got connected through music,
you see what I'm saying. So you know, he he
got he got his own thing going before. You know, well,
I don't know what he had going on before he
got sent, but you know, I know, I know he
(07:58):
being rapid, you know what I'm saying. But I didn't
know him personally, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (08:02):
Right.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
Sure, So now fifteen years later we have this friendship now, uh,
this musical partnership and uh, this collaboration.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Why do you guys feel like now it's the right
time for something?
Speaker 7 (08:17):
Slight?
Speaker 6 (08:20):
Man, Honestly, I ain't gonna say this like like the
right time. It's just like it's just like it's just
like for for this, this this for me because because
you say yeah, because the time and is everything, it
just it just it's just I don't know something about
the time we're doing it. But we I ain't never
(08:40):
really this thing wasn't playing. You feel what I'm saying. Yeah,
it wasn't playing. We ain't been like man, we gotta wait,
we gotta wait, or we gotta do it. Like you
feel what I'm saying. It just it's just really random
really to be honest with you, m hm. And now
you know, like you know, like we I had people
root for me for a while to like try to
(09:03):
do it on a serious tip. You feel what I'm saying.
I ain't never really try to do take rap shit.
You know what I'm saying. I was doing it as
a sport. You feel what I'm saying. Well, you know
the people who've been like urging me throughout the years,
like man, bro, you need to do like cause they
felt like I was good enough. I ain't felt like
(09:24):
I'm not gonna say I didn't feel like I was
good enough. I just wasn't on myself how the people
was on me?
Speaker 9 (09:29):
You feel me?
Speaker 2 (09:31):
But what made you take a serience.
Speaker 6 (09:35):
Like like I say, like the people around me. You
feel what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (09:40):
Like like if they rocking with me?
Speaker 6 (09:42):
That much, and you know, and if they rocking with
me that much for this long because I ain't never
really put out on music like that. All my music
was personal, you know what I'm saying. I kept all
my music. But you know, my mama like like my mama,
she been like a real supporter of mine. So that's
(10:02):
that's why I'm like, man, you know what, I'm gonna
try to. I'm gonna try to. I got a lot
of different reasons why really, but I'm gonna let you know,
get let's pick his side of that question.
Speaker 5 (10:13):
Oh man, I got many reasons myself. Man.
Speaker 6 (10:17):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (10:18):
When I came home and recorded.
Speaker 11 (10:23):
A song that I have right now called go Dumba
and and the way that my nieces and nephews gravitated
towards it, that's what That's what made me realize I
got something. So as far as there's something for something slight,
it was just we just was happening to be at
the studio at the same.
Speaker 8 (10:41):
Time, and then we record a song, part two songs
like next day, actually you recalled next week, and then
by the time a couple of months can't come down,
we're just sitting.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
Around thinking like with the with the engineer.
Speaker 11 (10:58):
He was like, man, y'all, y'all gotta I got a
lot of songs.
Speaker 5 (11:02):
Y'all got a good bit of songs together. Man, y'all,
y'all ain't never thought about doing no project or nothing.
He was like, nah, you know, so we just.
Speaker 8 (11:12):
Count down the songs that we got to see what
we had, and so we were just gonna throw something
out there, called it something slight.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
Yeah, how many records was there? I'm sorry, sorry, And
I was.
Speaker 6 (11:24):
Just gonna say that wasn't that the name wasn't playing either, right,
And and to answer your question the record, if I
ain't mistaken it was you about to ask how many
record was recorded? Doing the picting about songs?
Speaker 8 (11:41):
That was was about to ask how many songs did.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
You guys have initially before you sat down and say, oh, yeah,
you know, we have enough bangers to make an EP.
Speaker 6 (11:53):
We ain't had that much, but it was enough to
make at least three three of those six songs EPP.
Because I ain't not six songs on that, you knowee
what I'm saying, Yeah, these about eighteen songs or something
like that.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
So I know what EP is like what three to six? Sometimes?
So what's the songs on the EP?
Speaker 5 (12:17):
Right? Three to six songs on the EP? You fee
what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (12:20):
So I say we did enough song.
Speaker 5 (12:22):
To record like two or three of those.
Speaker 6 (12:25):
You know what I'm saying? Three six songs EP. You
know what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, but you don't even
know we had that many songs, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Yeah, that's what you're gonna do with the other twelve?
Is that for a later project?
Speaker 6 (12:39):
I mean, how to man? Like I say, ain't number
six songs on the EP. Ain't numberut like sixteen or
sixteen minutes the EP and number sixteen minutes, So people
looking like, man, Bro, man y'all should have put like
fourteen or something on that. Man y'all should have played
Man y'all should have put some more songs on there.
But you're like, Bro, it's just something slight, Bro, that's
why you be That's how I came up with it now,
(13:00):
because I wasn't.
Speaker 5 (13:01):
I even debated with hit about He was.
Speaker 6 (13:03):
Like, man, you ain't want to put like eight on
their trial? Like, nah, I'm just gonna do six, Bro,
You're gonna do six, you know what I mean? And
you know it came out like right, it came out right.
Did you listen to any of the songs or no,
you ain't get a chance to get into it yet.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Yeah, I said, that was my time.
Speaker 5 (13:25):
I said, did you.
Speaker 6 (13:26):
Listen to any of the songs or you ain't had
a chance to get into any of yet.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
I got the single, but I try to go to
the spot That's why I wanted to say at the end.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
The Spotify link is broken.
Speaker 5 (13:37):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
And there wasn't any songs in the Spotify account that
I was sent, So I don't know. Maybe I was
sent the wrong link. It's just say, hey, y B,
but there's no songs listed. I don't have I don't
have Yeah, yeah, I forget. I'mna get the right link.
I don't have Apple Music, so I couldn't listen that way,
But yeah, I try to.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
I tried to listen to it to hear a spot Yeah.
Speaker 7 (13:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Yeah. So on YouTube?
Speaker 5 (14:02):
Yeah you got it's on YouTube music.
Speaker 6 (14:04):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 9 (14:08):
Making whatever?
Speaker 6 (14:09):
You man? But you you you you you listen to rap?
Speaker 5 (14:12):

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Yeah yeah, listen to rap?
Speaker 7 (14:16):

Speaker 6 (14:30):

Speaker 2 (15:32):
Of Young Noble. Young Noble committed suicide. They're both balling
outlaw damn Yeah from out Yeah. Yeah he died recently.
Speaker 6 (15:43):
He got ball too, and I ain't gonna lie to
tell now legend man, absolute.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
Sure man.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
So Orangeburg is in your DNA for both of you.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Does the city shape y'all music in any way? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (16:04):
Oh no, I mean but yeah a lot, Yeah, I
mean yeah, yeah.
Speaker 9 (16:09):
Yeah, yeah, it's gonna sound nobody sound like us.
Speaker 5 (16:17):
Nobody sounds like us. When you hear us, you go,
you go automatically know it's something different.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
Yeah, all right, So let's talk about Trenches. So to me,
Trenches is raw and unapologetic. Like I said, that's the
only song I got to hear so far.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
Uh, what moment in life from both of you guys
inspired this record?
Speaker 6 (16:41):
Well, let's see what I wrote.
Speaker 5 (16:43):
That on I wrote that on the spot.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Did yep, we do that at first?
Speaker 6 (16:52):
We do that stuff for all right, So now ask
your question, say your questions again.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
I said, uh, what moment in your life both of
your lives inspired this song?
Speaker 6 (17:07):
Like I'm gonna you know, I'm gonna keep it the
buck like I ain't really I ain't really had no inspiration.
You fee what I'm saying, it's just like how how
this just how it's just how to beat whatever the
beat tell me to do that would come that what
came out you fee what I'm saying. I ain't had
to really think about nothing like a dig deep in
no place or nothing like that. You know what I'm saying.
It's like I just listened to the beat and the
(17:29):
way that piano is like that little dude. It's just like,
I'm like, that's I don't know, man, the beat made
me did what that did? You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (17:38):
The beat inspired me to do what?
Speaker 2 (17:40):
Did what I did?
Speaker 11 (17:41):
You feel what I'm saying, right, And that's that's that's
what made That's how when it came on, That's how
it made me started off.
Speaker 9 (17:48):
How it started off. You know what I'm saying, ain't
get a little speaking. So that's that's what it.
Speaker 8 (17:53):
Made me feel like because when I heard the beginning
of it, I.
Speaker 5 (17:58):
Pitched looking at a karate movie.
Speaker 9 (18:02):
So that's what made me say, Bruce Lee Van damn
Jackie Chan.
Speaker 5 (18:06):
You know, and I just I just went from there.
Speaker 7 (18:11):
Yeah, I love it.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
I love it? So why is this song the lead
record from the EP?
Speaker 6 (18:20):
That was another random decision? But you know, bru, really
but really, make let me call it out because he
trusts you know, he trusts my moves. You feel what
I'm saying, so I really pick it because the energy
you feel me, the energy of it is raw. You
(18:41):
feel me. It's rowdy, you feel me. But and the
flows on there like you know what I'm saying. The
way he rolled that be the way I rolled it.
You feel me, It's like, I don't know, it's just
so hard you feel me to me, You feel me
like like whatever you felt when you say to make
(19:04):
you say you love it that I feel that every
time I play it, because like I'm just now listening
to myself. I don't I don't listen to them.
Speaker 5 (19:11):
I'm just not.
Speaker 6 (19:12):
Starting to listen to my own music.
Speaker 5 (19:14):
You feel me.
Speaker 6 (19:14):
I ain't never been listening to myself like that.
Speaker 7 (19:16):
You see.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
Yeah, all right, guys, We're about to jump into some music.
It's called Trenches by a Y B Thugga and a Hitler,
and then we be back to put them in our
traditional hot seats where they can perform for us.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
If they want to.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
They could rap, sing, do some spoken word, tell a joke,
tell a story for their life claire instrument, give some advice,
or do nothing at all. That is cool as well,
but for right now here, it is Trenches. Stay tuned,
brute sleep.
Speaker 5 (19:48):
Mad damn jack of chance.
Speaker 10 (19:50):
The way it smells, you got a triple rapping it
with the rand, and I can get it till you're
