(04:33):
out there giving it. They're allfor me, for you, and for
the world. Introducing the multitalented artistsMuhammad Pika, who is a singer,
songwriter, composer, board certifive physician, and engineer. Pika is the founder
and managing director of One Essence Productions, which introduces the various genres of music
(04:59):
to the audience. He has wonmultiple awards for his creations and has collaborated
with renowned artists with more than twentyyears of experience in the music industry.
Pika shares his journey and approach toincorporating Eastern and Western styles and tis in
music. Wow, this guy isn'tincredible and let's welcome him to the show.
(05:20):
Muhammad, Welcome, How are youHi, any how are you I'm
pretty good. Yeah, thank youso much for having me on the show.
Absolutely, Before we dive into whatyou do in your music, I
(05:40):
just want to ask you a reallife question. What does it truly mean
to be happy? Is it attainableor is it just an illusion? Well,
it's different for different people, obviously, and it is attainable and you
(06:00):
have to work for it. Sofor a kid, happiness may mean,
you know, getting a toy whichthey can obtain, and for an adult,
various factors determine what makes the personhappy. So sometimes just you know,
being a common person living a commonlife makes someone happy. And happiness
(06:23):
is directly connected to content. Soif you're content with what you have,
you can be happy. Absolutely. The lyrics of Hold Me Tight express a
message of vulnerability and devotion. Howimportant is it for you to convey these
emotions through your music? Oh?Very important. I take lyrics each and
(06:49):
every single piece that I've done, and the lyrics for those pieces very seriously,
and it takes quite a bit oftime to write these songs. So,
and as you know, as anartist, things sometimes come out of
the blue and we almost get aninspiration sitting down or walking around and then
(07:15):
that leads us to compose or youknow, write lyrics or whatever it is.
So I think it's very important.Yeah. So how do you go
about and using your personal experience inyour songwriting process? Yeah? So,
you know, hold Me Tight andthe current album that I'm getting released is
(07:38):
actually very personal to me because thealbum is devoted to my wife and so
and you know, I've been marriedfor about twelve years, so finally decided
to release an album for her,and the album speaks about various experiences that
we've had together, and hold MeTight is one of those songs which also
(08:07):
reflects an experience that we've had,and specifically we had you know, we
were in an argument about something andeventually we figured out a means to a
straight path together. So the songwas composed and also lyrically written at that
(08:31):
time. Yeah. Wow, thatis the ultimate gift in my book.
An entire project, entire album dedicatedto you. That's a major gift.
Man. So when you listen tothis album, how does it make you
feel? Oh, it just putsme to tears actually, so really Yeah,
(08:56):
all the songs have not been releasedyet, and they're going to come
soon. So the next song that'sgoing to be released after free was released
last week and that was just theaudio version of the video version is going
to release on the nineteenth, andthen after that we will have a single
a week till the album album releaseson July seventh. So I've been listening
(09:20):
to the album off and on overthe last you know, since it was
initiated last year. So yeah, yeah, yeah, man, do you
have a date for this album?Yeah, So the date of release of
the entire album is going to beon July seventh, but then the singles
(09:43):
will be released the weeks before,so the whole album will be out before,
you know, as singles as onesingle a week, so and then
we'll pull it in into an albumon the seventh of July. Yes,
sir, So I've been married forthree years, you can married twelve.
What's your perspective on enduring power oflove and relationships? Yeah? So,
(10:09):
you know, relationships and love taketime. It's not an overnight thing.
And marriage is about sacrifice and howmuch you can sacrifice for if you love
someone, it's all about how muchyou can give to that person and let
(10:31):
yourself go. That's that's kind ofthe gist of marriage, and people who
don't have successful marriages usually have anissue with you know, letting go of
something that they've had, or youknow, just being too egoistic on a
certain front or topic. So Ithink marriage is also a divine teaching from
(10:56):
God because God wants us to beif you believe in God, God wants
us to be married because he wantsus to learn from each other, and
sometimes he puts us with a personthat's completely opposite of us, and because
they may have something that we don'thave, or vice versa. So I
(11:18):
believe that marriage is something that wecan learn from and develop and become one
as one soul, two bodies intoone soul through marriage. So I might
have been said about marriage. Imean there have been books written about it.
So absolutely, yeah, that wasa gym, especially the part about
(11:43):
you know, sometimes you may findyourself yoked with someone who's completely opposite.
I believe that's the case for memy wife, and I've learned so much
about myself in these three years.Yeah. So even my wife and me,
we're actually opposites, and I learnedfrom her. You know, she's
(12:05):
a lot more orderly than I am, and she does many things with the
certain passions. She's very creative andso um she and you know, I
have the the musical sense, soshe learns that from me as well.
And so we both learned from eachother and try to develop each other's strength
(12:28):
or weaknesses into strengths and trying notto get you know, egoistic or you
know, proud about what we haveand what the other person doesn't have.
So humility is very important for anymarriage. I think it's just being humble.
Oh yeah, I'm still learning thatone still learning that way. So
(12:54):
uh, and you're a true professionalengineer and plus all these accolades and music.
I'm interesting about your background and howyou got started in the music industry.
Yeah. So I actually started tolisten to music when I was very
young and started singing when I wasthirteen years old. And my uncle was
(13:20):
actually he was a performer. Hewas a performer from India and he came
to the States into seventies and hedid some performances here and stuff. So
we had a musical background in ourfamily, and you know, we would
partake in you know, home events, karaoke events and all that. So
I was quite closely involved with musicand then went into spiritual music later on
(13:48):
when I was in high school incollege, and at that time I had
basically joined a martial art group namedSilent Thunder, and we actually formed our
first band in this martial art group. And my part was to do the
(14:09):
Eastern side of the music or youknow, more of the chanting, the
Islamic chanting and Eastern flavor to meditationalmusic. So we had actually released an
album back in two thousand and threewhich was an acapella album consisting of Buddhist
(14:31):
chants, Christian chant hymns such asyou know, Amazing Grace, and then
I had my part and I hadalso sang along with some of the Christian
and Buddhist chants as well. Andye know, during those days, we
didn't have YouTube and you know,Spotify and all that. So we actually
went to a studio and recorded analbum on a CD and then we had
(14:56):
it in you know, in musicstores and Hastings. I don't know if
you're Uber Hastings, but we hadgone out to you know, put our
CD on the shelf and at BlockbusternHastings. So that was the initiation of
my music career kind of wow.And then yeah, yeah, so,
and I had done my degree inengineering at the time and worked for Defense
(15:22):
Kneywell Defense and as a as aprogrammer. So I went on to first
two higher studies, went on tomed school, and then I still kept,
you know, singing and trying tocompose songs, but I had kind
of a just along for a longbreak and then came back to music around
(15:43):
two thousand, I would say elevenish is when I started to come back
in a serious way. So andthen I released in my second album in
two thousand and fifteen. So yeah, it's been a long journey of learning,
Yes, sir, an incredible oneat that, especially when you first
(16:07):
started out. That's the school I'mfrom. To the real grind, you
know, putting feet to the pavement, getting your your project into the hands
of people, and if you gotinto a mom and pop store you were
onto something like talent really was thedriving force of the music industry. Yeah,
(16:27):
and nowadays man artists have it soeasy. There's AI and all this
other stuff to help. But ohyeah, yeah, for sure, absolutely,
I mean yeah, oh yeah.So can you share about your label
company, One Essence Productions and theartists that you work with. Yeah.
(16:48):
So One Essence Productions was founded intwo thousand and fifteen and it's basically a
record label and we have we workwith many different artist We have UM musicians,
we have lyricists, we have UMactors as well as videographers that we
(17:11):
hire and at a part of theteam. And then we also have UM
I'm the singer and we have anothersinger as well and UM. So we're
a developing company in development and we'retrying to expand and hire more people on
board. So this is a worldwidecompany. So a lot of our work
(17:34):
is done. We've we've even hiredpeople from you know, Russia and from
Africa and also in Pakistan. Umso we're we're kind of worldwide. Yeah.
Man, you're creating a community andnot just one culture mini cultures.
Yeah, yeah, you know, thankfully. Um, you know, I
(17:57):
was blessed to be raised in theUS, where you know, we see
all these different cultures and and um, you know kind of a it's a
melting pot of different religions and cultures. So um, you know, I
went to a Catholic middle middle school, but I was raised as a Muslim,
and but I've experienced music from theEastern World Middle East. Um.
(18:22):
You know Europe and America so um. And that's ranged from you know,
acapella chanting to all the way topomp and R and B so um.
I love anything that is musical.Yeah, and I try to learn from
anything that I can hear. Actually, so absolutely well, we are getting
