guests on, I do want to say or ask are
you determined?
Speaker 2 (01:13):
You know?
Speaker 4 (01:14):
It is true that discouragement can lead to defeat, and
this can also lead to determination and increased resolve. Discouragement
can drain the energy from you, or it can infuse
you with fresh new vatility to push on ahead. It
(01:37):
all depends on how you choose to respond to the
discouragement that comes your way. Every effort of any significance
will be met with some discouragement, and it may often
seem that you are burden with more than your share
of it. But it is that discouragement really?
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Is it really a burden.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
Or is it instead of blessing in disguise? You know
you can indeed turn it into a blessing if you
so desire. For the same things that make it so
discouraging can also be positively compelling reasons to move forward.
Powerful determination and unstoppable commitment to come more often than
not from discouragement that has been turned into a positive direction.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
You know you.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
Cannot avoid discouragement, but then you would you really want to?
For you can choose to take it and let it
make you that much stronger, that much more determined, are
that much more successful? My name is Kachtini and change
is possible. Are you ready?

Our interviews are designed to go beyond the music new
his books, art, acting, films, technology, education, entrepreneurship, entertainment, spirituality,
and sometimes even fast that thing that we call the ego.
Our interviews are designed to go behind the scenes and
(04:12):
into the minds of these incredible human beings, you know,
the ones.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
That are out there giving if they're all for me,
for you, for the world. Well, ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Some artists choose fame, while others create music that's home.
Nick Lust is the latter, a singer songwriter who brings
the warmth of southern summers, small town love, and R
and B infused country storytelling into every note that he sings.
From picking up a guitar as a teen to blend
(04:44):
in the soul of West Virginia into music that resonates
across borders. Nick is on a mission to share his
world with listeners. Whether it's some nostalgia, heartfelt ballads, or
roy emotion, his music speaks to the heart. And with that,
let's say welcome friend to Nick Less. Hey, Hey, welcome
(05:08):
to the show.
Speaker 6 (05:09):
Oh it's going pretty good man, how about.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
You going great as well? H No complaints so man,
let's do this. Let's do this.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
So man, before we dive into your story, what's been
on your heart and my lady?
Speaker 7 (05:26):
Honestly, man, here lately, it's just trying just trying to
promote good vibes between people, and.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
I just I just feel like there's a lot of.
Speaker 6 (05:39):
Back and forth going on anymore, and you.
Speaker 7 (05:41):
Know, I'm just trying to spread some good positivity with
you know, music and whatever else it might be.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
Indeed, is that do you do you think that's music
place when it comes to like, uh, you know, right now,
the biggest topic is what's going on in the world world,
what's going on with our country, you know, with our
president and policies and things of that nature. And is
(06:08):
easy to feel this divide that's coming, you know, so
many different things to stand up for, so many things
to sit down for.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
You know that sometimes I think the lines get muddied
a bit. But someone where.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
There has to be an answer for cohesiveness, for togetherness.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Do you think music has that place? Are supposed to
have that place?
Speaker 6 (06:32):
Yeah, I definitely think it's supposed to have that place.
Speaker 7 (06:35):
Because you know, I feel like I feel like music,
you know, you don't have to pick a side with music,
whatever genre that might be.
Speaker 6 (06:49):
You know, it's just it's real easy for at least.
Speaker 7 (06:51):
For me to think that music everybody can listen to,
everybody can enjoy, and you know, that's just a common
ground a lot of people's music.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
Indeed, indeed, man, where do you fit in with all
this togetherness through music?
Speaker 7 (07:09):
I think for me personally, it gets you know, just
talking about your experiences.
Speaker 6 (07:16):
Your you know, your ups, your downs, as you.
Speaker 7 (07:20):
Know, doesn't matter what really kind of person you are
or you know what, like what politics he might side with.
You know, everybody has experiences that they can share together.
Speaker 6 (07:33):
So that's that's where I'm at with with my music.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
Indeed, indeed, you describe Summer Loving as a feel good,
laid back song.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
Can you walk us through like the moment that idea
hits you? You know that that moment was it lyric melody?
Speaker 6 (07:52):
Yeah? So I believe it or not.
Speaker 7 (07:56):
It hit me like a month ago because we've been having,
you know, just a really rough winter here.
Speaker 6 (08:03):
Everybody's just been stuck in kind of depressed, you know, and.
Speaker 7 (08:09):
I was thinking back to summer just you know where
I'm at, Like summertime, everybody's together, and that's where a
lot of memories and experiences happen. And you know, so
while I was cooped up here in the house, you know,
I just I felt like I needed to make something
that just felt good, something that when people listen to it,
(08:31):
you know, that kind of just brings them back to
you know, that that good feeling of summer.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
Yeah, yeah, what does summer feel like for you?
Speaker 6 (08:42):
For me, I've experienced all kinds of things.
Speaker 7 (08:47):
In summer, you know, I mean, obviously things happened through
all the seasons, but you know, summer for me is love,
it's having fun, it's even hard breaks. You know, it
just seems like that's that's when those things really connected
with me.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Was you know, with with summer time.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
Indeed, indeed, your song captures your love for summer. A
special woman and your hometown. Let's talk about your hometown.
I was growing up.
Speaker 6 (09:21):
So this is a it's a pretty small place really.
Speaker 7 (09:25):
Growing up, you know, there's not a lot of entertainment here,
so people kind of have to make their own entertainment.
You know, it's one of those places where everybody knows everybody,
and you know, whenever something happens, by the time you
get home, like half of the half of the place
(09:45):
knows what happened. So you know, it's just it's it's
really personal here and that's how it was growing up
for me.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
Indeed.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
All right, all right, well guys, we're about to jump
to some music. We have Summer Loving by Nick Less,
and then we'll be back to put him in our
traditional hot seats where he can perform for us if
he wants to. He could sing a rap, spoken word,
tell a joke, tell a story from his life, play.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
An instrument, gives him advice, or do nothing at all.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
That is cool as well, But for right now here
it is Some Are Loving by Nicholas Stay Tuned.
Speaker 8 (10:28):
Spackyard Fashion is Glue and Amazon the ground singing our
favorite tunes now my favorite sound. I'm just wondering what.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
You got going on in your man?
Speaker 9 (10:44):
When Juli comes on around you, I'm gonna.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Make you man.
Speaker 10 (10:50):
You remember the first time weeks summer hate and the
coageous fumence. It's all I wanted this yo too.
Speaker 9 (11:03):
You say those were so smile and saying out of
love it and that's all I heard.
Speaker 10 (11:16):
Sitting down in that breeze where seeping on her and
thinking back to the young days when I can give
your time.
Speaker 8 (11:27):
Now I'm hundred just time home.
Speaker 9 (11:29):
I've got all of this sluf. Now your perfume is
ling and it's so my trouble.
Speaker 10 (11:38):
You remember the first time weeks summer hate and my
corgeous scurviance.
Speaker 5 (11:48):
It's all I wanted this.
Speaker 10 (11:50):
Yo too?
Speaker 9 (11:51):
You say, those were so smile and saying out of love.
Speaker 8 (11:56):
It, and that's all I heard.
Speaker 10 (12:04):
So can I have just men love your sweet time
acting like out on me? But then I'd be live.
You remember the first time mena summer heat and the
cold drinks pure black?
Speaker 9 (12:28):
Say, those were so smile and saying I love you
and that's all I.
Speaker 8 (12:39):
And that's all I and that's all.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
All right, all right, welcome back again.
Speaker 11 (12:52):
That was Summer Loving by Nick last What a nice, nice,
an incredible piece of work there, man, soundtracks you name it.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
But yeah, all right, let's go ahead and bring them back.
Speaker 4 (13:10):
The man of the hour, Nicholas, what's up man, welcome
back to the show. Thanks, that's a nice incredible song man. Yes, sir, yes, sir.
So you mentioned being from a small town. Do you
think been from a small town help you get closer
to music.
Speaker 7 (13:29):
Oh yeah, absolutely, you know, like like I kind of
said earlier, you know.
Speaker 6 (13:35):
We can you kind of have to make your own entertainment.
Speaker 7 (13:37):
Here, and music is well probably one of the biggest
things here.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
Anytime there's a.
Speaker 7 (13:46):
New viral song, gal like by the next day, everybody's
talking about it.
Speaker 6 (13:52):
There's there's plenty.
Speaker 7 (13:54):
Of locals here who have played music their entire life,
and that's kind of what got me into music myself,
was you know, just family that played for years and years.
Speaker 6 (14:06):
But yeah, with this being such a small place, music
is a big part.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
Here indeed, indeed. Yeah, But upcoming EP titled Hometown Echoes.
What's the meaning behind this title?
Speaker 6 (14:23):
So a lot of people.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Here, you know, including me.
Speaker 7 (14:27):
Where you know, there's not a lot of opportunity here
for things, and it's almost.
Speaker 6 (14:35):
Like a love hate relationship with this place because.
Speaker 7 (14:39):
You know, there's so much rooted here and so much influence.
But at the same time, you know, I hear people
say all the time like that they want to leave,
they want to go somewhere bigger, And that was kind
of the whole meaning with the EP coming up, was
you know, even if you leave the just the routine
(15:04):
and the influence here is kind of just.
Speaker 6 (15:06):
Always you know, you hear it. It's just like an
echo that you hear. You know, it's kind of trying
to trying to draw.
Speaker 12 (15:13):
You back, I guess is the best way to say it.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
Yeah, how do you feel about that personally?
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Staying roy h For me, I don't feel like I
could leave here.
Speaker 7 (15:32):
I'm just you know, the way that this place is
shaped me, especially with my art.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
I just I could.
Speaker 6 (15:41):
I just don't feel like I could voluntarily leave. Now.
You know, things happened and I got big, big enough
where I.
Speaker 7 (15:48):
Had that chance, you know, I probably would leave, but
there would always be a part of me that would want.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
To stay here.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
Yeah, definitely, Man, you have to keep it going. I
have family members that you know, come and go all
the time, and uh, it's the same you know, if
everyone leaves, who's there to preserve the uh, the memories,
the the tapestry of what family and what community is
(16:17):
really about.
Speaker 7 (16:19):
Yeah, and we've we've had a lot of people decide
to leave here and you know, in a way, it's
you know, it's good for them, but like you said,
it's sad too because you know the kind of kind
of here's right there with those people that leave.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
Yeah, all right, all right man.
Speaker 4 (16:37):
Looking towards the future, man, what do you have going
on for the rest of the rest of this year?
Speaker 12 (16:42):
I would like to which I have the EP dropping
next month, but after that, I would like to start
trying trying to land some gigs around the area and
you know, across borders if I could.
Speaker 6 (16:57):
That's that's really on my radar, is uh, you know,
actually get out there. Some people can be.
Speaker 4 (17:05):
All right before the listeners say hey, what about that
hot seat? Yeah I didn't forget Welcome back with us, man,
you're you're back in our hot seat?
Speaker 2 (17:14):
Are you going to perform for us?
Speaker 6 (17:17):
Unfortunately, Man, I'm a little under the weather.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
Today, but.
Speaker 6 (17:22):
I can I can give some advice. You know that.
That's something I would really like today. If you're down.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
For it, I'm down for it.
Speaker 6 (17:31):
Yeah, man.
Speaker 7 (17:31):
So one of the best things that I've been told
in my life is, you know, we all have these
big dreams and aspirations of things, but you know that
that fear of going after those things it stops a
lot of people. And you know, I've heard a lot
(17:52):
of the older people many of times say, you know,
I wish I'd have just done that one thing, but
I never did it. And that's something that stuck with me, is,
you know, I don't want to have those regrets.
Speaker 6 (18:07):
So you know, if if there's something you're chasing, try it.
Speaker 7 (18:11):
You know, I mean, you might not succeed, but that
that's the worst thing that can happen. And on the alternative,
you know you might you might get everything that you've
dreamed of.
Speaker 6 (18:23):
So you know, you don't you don't know until you try.
Speaker 7 (18:26):
Is probably one of my best pieces of advice that
I could give somebody.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
Lovely, Where can our listeners connect with you on the
internet and check out more music?
Speaker 7 (18:38):
I have a Facebook, you know, Nickolas, I have Instagram, TikTok,
I'm on all the string services. I mean just really
anywhere that you get on, I'm probably.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
On there.
Speaker 4 (18:54):

those little links, and no worries, I will have them
