Speaker 3 (04:23):
Thanks for asking so, Nicole, we are decited that you
are here. But before we get into the new single
and your journey. What's been on your heart and mind lately?

Speaker 6 (04:37):
What's been on my heart and mind lately? I think
I've just been enjoying life, listening to a lot of music,
going on lots of auditions. I recently opened my own
business to where I teach kids many different art styles
like acting, singing, dancing, piano, visual arts, and French my love.

(04:58):
I fell in love with that giving back to kids
and helping them learn and grow. And I'm just very
excited with the release of my EP music.

Speaker 5 (05:06):
It's been a.

Speaker 6 (05:08):
Very fun and long journey and very exciting and I'm
excited for what's to come.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Wow, you are busy. So what music have you been
listening to lately?

Speaker 6 (05:23):
I've been listening to a lot of different kinds of music. Actually,
Mariah Carey just released her latest album, so I've been
listening to that on repeat right now.

Speaker 5 (05:33):
Before that, I.

Speaker 6 (05:34):
Was listening to Justin Bieber's latest album, and a lot
of Tate McCrae too, and my.

Speaker 5 (05:41):
Own music I've been listening to.

Speaker 6 (05:43):
I've been jamming out listening to my own stuff, So
it's been pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Yeah, So, speaking of your own music, entice me baby
feels like a throwback and a reinvention, you know, reinviction
all at once. When a spire of the track and
how did you shape it sound?

Speaker 6 (06:04):
I wanted like a fun dance pop song that I
would have listened to growing up and something that I
would enjoy listening to now.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
So the inspiration was kind of early two thousands pop
Britney Spears.

Speaker 6 (06:17):
Jennifer Lopez with some R and B influence, So I
listened to like a lot of Mariah Carey and a
lot of Ariana Grande, So I'm sure you can hear
that come through I when.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
You play the song.

Speaker 6 (06:30):
But I grew up like loving Britney Spears and hit
Me Baby One More Time was a huge hit, and
I loved her music growing up, and so I kind
of wanted my own version of that, but reinvented, not
a copy. I wanted my own kind of pop dance
song that was super catchy and something that I wanted
to record. And so when I co wrote the song

(06:54):
with my co writer and the production came together, I
just kept felt falling in love with the process because
I love the song so much, Even like when I
just recorded the demo with just a guitar so it
was really cool to keep adding layers to the song
and ad libs and interesting dynamics and layers to the song,
and it was just a lot of fun and a

(07:14):
dream come true.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Yeah for me, that two thousand era for me was
very fun. Not only was my life fun, but R
and B hip hop pop was all. I won't say
every song was fun, but most of those songs blended
right in with my lifestyle at that time. It was
like a soundtrack.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
What was it about for you?

Speaker 6 (07:39):
Oh yeah, it was super fun. I mean I was
super super young during the two thousands, but it's a
core memory for me as something that I look back
at and I was like, Wow, what a beautiful time
to live in. And even music wise, it was simpler times.

Speaker 5 (07:54):
It was just so much fun, lots.

Speaker 6 (07:56):
Of glitter, nineties two thousand vibes.

Speaker 5 (08:00):
It was just so much fun. And it's my favorite,
like music.

Speaker 6 (08:03):
Live, like my favorite stuff to listen to. And I
think that even music today, like modern music that you.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
Listen to is just reinvented.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
It's it's just old music that's brought back and made new.
So I think that a lot of inspiration came from
that time in my life, and it makes me happy
thinking about the songs back then and the time that
we the time that used to be.

Speaker 5 (08:30):
Than are now, you know.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Yeah, Yeah, what do you think about today's original music?

Speaker 6 (08:37):
I still love today's original music. I think that it's
it's definitely more. It's it's changed a lot. I think
it's a lot of it is more electnic, and I
love that. I the bass of Entice Me Baby, and
the bass of my songs is very.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
Like it's based.

Speaker 6 (08:52):
It starts off with a guitar and there's instruments and
sense added on top, and I I love that I
got to add like cool letters to the song with
harmonies and really cool ad lids. And one of my songs,
Dancing the Night Away, there's a whistle tone. So I
love that I got to kind of incorporate different elements
of pop music and R and B and a little

(09:16):
bit of dance and alternative into my music.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
Yeah, so just to add a little bit more magic
to Entice Me Baby. You worked with producer Roy Hamilton Third,
who has worked with Britney Spears, Michael Jackson justin Timberlake.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
What did you take away from that collaboration.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
He's honestly a legend.

Speaker 6 (09:40):
He's worked with so many fantastic artists and legends and legends,
and I love his music and his work. And it's
funny how like I loved I love the song as
it was like just with the guitar in my vocals,
but when he started producing and adding his own sounds,
it just completely changed the vibe in the level of

(10:01):
the song.

Speaker 5 (10:02):
I just added so much depth and uh it was.

Speaker 6 (10:06):
It was super professional and and everything that I wanted
to be for my song and more. He's He's got
so much wisdom and it is super fun to be
to work with and respect respectful and kind and has
such a big heart of me so humble for everything
he's accomplished. I absolutely loved working with him and hope

(10:26):
to continue to work with him in the future.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Indeed, I want to know your thought process when it
comes to like the lyrics. I know, and in that
two thousands uh uh era, you know, most of the
lyrics were repetitive, catchy, easy to memorize, you know, anthems
almost How did you approach your own lyrics when it

(10:50):
came to this Entice Me Baby?

Speaker 5 (10:53):
When I wrote the song, when I co wrote the song.
I just wanted something.

Speaker 6 (10:56):
That felt kind of fun and sexy, but all like
from the heart. So what I love to do with
my songs is make the bridge almost kind of emotional,
whereas the verses and the chorus is very up theyat
and fun and funky. And then I really wanted like
an emotional bridge, So I just kind of wrote from

(11:17):
the heart what I was feeling at the time and
tried to make the song flow. And I think I
got a lot of help with that from the co writer,
and we've had to change some lyrics up, but the
song was actually written in like I think it was
like half an hour. It was a very quick time
to write the song. But there's magic and the lyrics
and I love what Actually what came to me first

(11:39):
was entice Me, just that that I wanted that lyric
to be in my song because I feel like I
haven't I haven't heard that in the song, and it
kind of came to me, and so I was like, well,
what if we add enticed me baby? And then I
was telling my co writer kind of my idea for
the concept for the song, and he loved it, and
so we just started writing and things just ended up

(12:00):
working out.

Speaker 5 (12:01):
It worked out, and it was fun.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
I would say, I would definitely say, even when you
were writing a song or recording it, did you have
a vision for the visuals already in mind?

Speaker 6 (12:13):
I don't. I don't think I had a vision for
the visuals when it first came out.

Speaker 5 (12:19):
I just I think when you hear the song.

Speaker 6 (12:22):
When it comes out, and when it's like completed and
it's finished, you for me, I started envisioning what I
wanted for the visuals and my costume and what I
wanted to dance to look like, and so, uh yeah,
I think it was just very a very organic process,
and it happened where I just was like, oh, I

(12:42):
want to write this song and I wanted to kind
of sound like this, and I wanted to I wanted
to include the lyrics entice me baby, and tried to
rhyme words with that and.

Speaker 5 (12:54):
And write lyrics that flowed.

Speaker 6 (12:56):
And the visuals part of it really came after I
was like, I think I'm gonna do a live showcase
video and so that's how that came together.

Speaker 7 (13:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
Yeah, you love harmonies and ad libs.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Can you walk us.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
Through how you layer your vocals or what you listen
for when you stack them.

Speaker 6 (13:17):
So I actually spent like probably before I even started
making music. I spent like five years just loving artists
that have so many vocal runs like I carry Celine
Dion and Whitney Houston and Ariana Grande. I was listening
to Maria Terry and Ariana Grande and Demi Lovado just
on repeat, and so I just I they almost just

(13:41):
came to me after the song was after the demos,
and if you have to live with the song, I
think for like a month and really really listen to it,
and I would just hear.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
Things in the song that that.

Speaker 6 (13:54):
Someone else would hear differently, and so I would add
my harmony, and then I would would pass by, and
or a day would pass by and I would come
up with an ad lib that would fit perfectly somewhere,
and so it was just a very I think the
thing that stuck with me and what I learned throughout
the process is that it's important to live with a song,
so you don't have to just jump right into adding

(14:16):
harmonies and jump right into adding ad libs. You can
live with it and one day you might record an
ad lib and then the next day you might think, Oh,
I actually think I want to change it and add
it to make it more complicated or a little bit
more simple. And depending on what vibe you're going for
and what you like.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
Yeah, yeah, as someone who can't walk into you gum,
I will fall over.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
So I just stand still in chew gum. But not
just plan.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
But and I'll take a note here, between acting, singing, dancing,
and running your art center, how do you prioritize your
creative outlets?

Speaker 6 (14:55):
Would I'd say I prioritize everything. I actually grew up
doing so many more things.

Speaker 5 (15:00):
You're skating and piano and.

Speaker 6 (15:02):
Violin and karate, and so I had to pick between
everything from what I wanted to do, and I narrowed
it down to acting, singing, and dancing, and uh, you know,
during my off time is when I have time to teach.

Speaker 5 (15:14):
Kids, because I love I love.

Speaker 6 (15:16):
Teaching kids and helping them think they're are next, our future,
our next generation. So I love doing all of that.
But I would say acting and singing and dancing are
my absolute favorite things to do. I hope I get
to continue doing that forever and make.

Speaker 5 (15:29):
Time for that always, and also continue working with kids.

Speaker 6 (15:34):
I just started my learning center, and it's been a
learning process and it's been a fun time and I
love getting to do all of it.

Speaker 5 (15:40):
So I hope I get to continue doing.

Speaker 7 (15:42):
All of it.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
Yeah, so you are in education as well?

Speaker 5 (15:48):
I'm sorry, I'm in education or.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Yeah, yeah, are you in education as well?

Speaker 5 (15:54):
Uh, I'm oh, I'm finished.

Speaker 6 (15:56):
I'm finished school. So I finished university at Ryerson for
TV and yeah. So now I'm running this business and
working on continuing to pursue my acting and music career
and hoping I just continue to get more.

Speaker 5 (16:12):
Roles and make more music.

Speaker 6 (16:14):
And yeah, have some things in the work and working on,
so hopefully everything comes together.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
So at the age of six, you know, I was
probably playing with Batman and Ninja Turtles, but you started
performing at the age of six, you know, from dance
to music to skating, as you mentioned karate. Even looking back,
what do you think all that early training gave you
and how does it still serve you today.

Speaker 6 (16:42):
I definitely learned discipline and focus, and I think I
was just super passionate about the arts growing up, so
it was never something that was very difficult for me
to do.

Speaker 5 (16:52):
I loved I.

Speaker 6 (16:52):
Felt like I belonged on stage and wanted to make
people smile all the time and perform in front of
people and make them happy.

Speaker 5 (17:00):
And I think entertainment wasn't outlet me.

Speaker 6 (17:02):
It was something that I always whenever I was going
through something or whenever I whenever I was bored. I
just love singing or dancing around or going for a
skate or drawing and painting. And I'm still that way
to this day. So it really is something that I
grew up with and fell in love with at a
young age, and it was always easy for me to
involve myself in that and stay focused. But it's a

(17:25):
big thing that I learned. The big thing that I
learned is discipline and focus and passion, and when you
stick to something, it really ends up results really end
up coming through in the end. So you know, sometimes
I didn't always want to continue taking the piano lesson
growing up, but I continued at it and today I
would say I'm able to teach it.

Speaker 5 (17:43):
So it's a great thing.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
Yeah, And I would say that you're still practicing discipline,
which sometimes is a hard thing to do.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
So how do you get through the hard stuff the
hard task? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (17:54):
So for sure, because with this industry it's challenging getting
her and evolving, evolving with the music in this ever
changing industry. Right, So I would say that I learned
to really enjoy the process.

Speaker 5 (18:12):
I think that's something.

Speaker 6 (18:13):
As a kid that I was it was really easy
to do, is just enjoy and have fun. And I
think that when you enjoy and have fun, it ends
up coming through.

Speaker 5 (18:21):
Can I answer your question? Was that? Sorry I forgot
the question.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Yes you did, did?

Speaker 5 (18:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (18:27):
So I think I just enjoying the process and doing
what you love and finding what you're good at. I
think it's it's important to find a balance, at balance
with what are you good at and what do you
enjoy and making time for all of that in life.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
Indeed, what lessons do you hope your kids take away
from being exposed to a multi dimensional art?

Speaker 6 (18:53):
I hope that they they first of all, have fun
and feel inspired to continue to fall in love with
the arts or language French or English, and that they
feel motivated and inspired and creative. I think creativity is
such a beautiful thing in this world, and I hope.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
They love it and that they love what they're.

Speaker 6 (19:18):
Learning, and that they learn a lot, and I hope
that they continue to take what I learned with them,
learn from take what they learn from me with them
as they continue on an journey, on their creative journey.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
Indeed, indeed, so humor me this Nicole.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
If you had a chance to put on the live
show of a lifetime, and you had a chance to
design it, or you know, co design it with someone,
what would that live experience look like.

Speaker 5 (19:50):
Oh that's such an amazing question. Wow, I love that
that question.

Speaker 6 (19:55):
I want something very sparkley and bright and magnetic, with
lots of dancers, but also moments that are super raw
where maybe I'm playing the piano and it's emotional and
I'm singing, for example, come to You, which is a song
which is a song about my mom or maybe a
song in the future that's a very raw, emotional song

(20:16):
about and I love and someone else, someone like a
romantic interest or something like that. So I want just
a mixture of different things.

Speaker 5 (20:24):
I want a.

Speaker 6 (20:24):
Full on dance choreography and then moments where it's just
me and the piano, and I want it lots of choreo,
and I want it to be a fun time.

Speaker 5 (20:36):
Glittery for sure. I love sparkles and all of that.

Speaker 6 (20:39):
So I love everything extravagant and nice, but also super
raw and simple moments and elegant moments.

Speaker 3 (20:48):
Definitely, you're destined for the stadium s Nicle. Thank you
all right, listeners, It's time for some music. We have
Entice New Baby, and then we'll be back to put
Nicole Huff in our traditional hot seat. That's if she
wants to participate. She could sing, rap, do spoken word,
tell us a joke. We love dad jokes, tell us

(21:09):
story from her life, playing instruments, give some advice, or
do nothing at all. That is cool as well, But
for right now here it is Entice New Baby.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Stay tuned.

Speaker 8 (21:28):
I'll tell you something, something that you don't know why
your body moves. It makes me feel I need you clothed.
Spark between us gets a nicer. Then I just started.
Don't go anywhere, Oh, don't go anywhere when you inst
me baby, leave me alone and get excited when you

(21:52):
go and lock the door. Where else you and me?
There's no one else, I say, intoxicated baby, show you
what you waited for. Push up on me. I start
to feel alive. This crazy feeling is feeling up inside.
Even in my mind. The feelings don't subside. Oh my god,

(22:15):
it tonight, So let's not waste your time when you
insid baby, leave me one more. I get excited when
you go and lock the door. When let's just feel
in me. There's no one else I'll say, intoxicated baby,
show you what you waited.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
For, Show you what you.

Speaker 8 (22:39):
Waited for, Show you what you waited for. So tell
me how I make you feel. I know the soul
seems really way. Look at me. I'm not the only one. Lucy.

(23:00):
Please when you feel the live, please remember it's nice.
Intesty baby, leave me on all I get excited when

(23:20):
you go and lock and don when it's just you
and me, there's no one else's say. It's oxicated baby,
Show you what you've waited for. Intesty baby, you leave
me on. I get excited when you go and lock
the door. Oh, when it's just you and me, there's
no one else's sake. It'soxicated, baby, Show you what you're

(23:45):
waited for, To show you what you waited for, shore
what you waited for?

Speaker 2 (23:58):
All right, all right, welcome back again.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
And that was enticed me baby by the cold Off.
What an incredible record. Yeah, I feel like hitting the street,
you know, dropping the top and partying. All right, let's
go ahead and bring the cold back. Hey, welcome back.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
Your back loud. Hey, yeah, I really feel.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
Like going out, you know, something real, real nice and
have that song planning in my head and you know,
try to pick up some women.

Speaker 7 (24:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (24:40):
Yeah, it's a lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
Yeah, you think that'll work for me if I just
have that plan in my head as a soundtrack and absolutely.

Speaker 6 (24:48):
Yeah, that's It's one of those songs where you're like,
you want to strut, you want to struck down the
street because it makes you groove.
