Well, ladies and gentlemen, meetNicole Marine, an artist whose music
(04:55):
is melodic and confluence of deep introspection, spiritual exploration, and raw emotion.
With that, let's welcome her tothe show. Hello, Hello, Hello,
welcome, Thank you, thank youfor having me absolutely, How are
you? I'm good this morning? How are you doing fairly well? Thank
(05:18):
you for asking so yeah, welcome, welcome. Just to jump start our
conversation, your track Ocean Breeze masterfullytransform dental trauma into common waves. Can
you share that pacific moment when youturn pain into something so beautiful. Yeah.
(05:42):
So one of my coping skills whenI'm having to go go under nitrous
oxide at the dental at the dentistis to create songs in my head while
I'm undergoing dental pain. I've hadso much dental work done. So I
heard the sound of a section andI pretended it was an ocean breeze,
(06:08):
and then the second verse came tome. And then my game, with
my mental game with myself during thattime is just to repeat it to myself
so I can remember it and writeit down once the appointment is over.
So that's how the verse came. And I'm not sure if the chorus came
then or immediately after. I knowthat the first verse came sometime after.
(06:32):
It might have been a week ormom so I'm not sure, but I
know that the initial idea, thecentral idea of an ocean breeze came to
me while I was under nitrous oxidelaughing gas. So yeah, that's kind
of how it came to me.Absolutely. Before we get into how you
(06:53):
do music and why you do music, we want to know about the who
that's doing the music so tell itto us. How did you discover your
passion for creating music. I've alwaysliked to sing from the time I was
a small child, and I usedto make up my own songs, but
I didn't really write them down.So I was like a teenager and my
(07:16):
first instrument was the saxophone. Istarted playing that in the fourth grade,
and I switched to clarinet in theeighth grade and started learning the piano probably
around each twelve or so. Ididn't learned the guitar. That was my
last instrument to learn until I waslike eighteen or nineteen, and then I
(07:38):
started. I recorded my first albumat like in my late twenties and started
doing shows and stuff. And I'vealways had an interest in writing, so
writing poech writing songs, writing whatever, and so I just kind of put
it all together and yeah, Ijust started to write songs and put my
(07:58):
music out there. And yeah,Oushan Breezes my latest single, and I'm
very proud of it, absolutely allright. First off, using a dental
drill as inspiration, you've got meblown away. Tell me have you always
(08:18):
had this ability to see beauty orsilver lining even an uncomfortable moments? Yeah,
I'm a cancer survivor. I wasdiagnosed with a rare and aggressive form
of cancer in my late twenties. And you know, I think when you
(08:39):
go through life threatening, life alteringillnesses, it really pushes you to try
to find the silver lining of anysituation. And then having all sorts of
health issues, autoimmune illness, hearinglaws, that also forces you to kind
of see the silver lining and pushthrough and just persevere and keep going and
(09:01):
be persistent. So I've always kindof had that about me, to never
give up kind of spirit and tryto find a silver lining even when it's
hard. Absolutely the lyrics I Amone with the morning, I Am One
with the world are powerful. Whatwas your mindset when you penned these lines.
(09:24):
I think it's that law of one, you know, when I read
a lot about metaphysical things, andit's something I've heard of a lot of
people say in their testimonies when theyfeel a mystical experience or when they feel
like a very spiritual, deeply spiritualexperience, they feel its sense of being
(09:48):
one with everything. And I thinkI was really happy that morning and happy
that day, and that's when Iwrote that first line. So that first
one. I didn't come till later, but I knew it had to go
first in the So, yeah, you just keep hearing. I don't know
that I've actually ever had that feelingof oneness that I keep hearing people say
(10:11):
and talk about, but I canimagine it, and I hope to get
there one day where I do feelthat sense of oneness, because that's where
all that the eagle boundaries melts awayand we realize that we all are one.
Yes, indeed, And there's anotherline, there's a voice that's demonic.
(10:33):
So that's a deep and powerful lineas well. What message do you
want your listeners to take from that? Well, I think at the time,
you know, it's on a verysuperficial, practical, three D level,
it's the sound of the Dentol, the Dentol drill, the Dentol instruments.
But I think on a deeper level, it's the fact that I don't
(10:56):
believe that everybody here on this earthplane is a child of God. I
do feel there's a demonic presence hereand we are in a spiritual war,
and that you do have to choosethe side, and which side are you
going to choose? And not thatwe should put our heads in the sand
and ignore things like child trafficking andchildren being abused and things like the We
(11:24):
need to focus on the positive whiledoing something about that. What's going on
in the world. It's in mymind demonic, but we need to do
it from a higher vibrational state.Hopes that makes sense. It does,
it does. Have you seen themovie Sound of Freedom? Yes, I
(11:45):
thought I see it, well,I thought on July fourth, and not
the day it came out, butalmost as soon as it came out.
I've been waiting to see that moviefor years. Yeah, I want to
see it too. Wonderful movie.Wonderful movie. Yeah, all right.
So you also had twenty five yearsexperience in narcisistic abuse, which is pretty
(12:09):
normal in our culture for some reason. I don't know. Yeah, we
have to suppoil that one. Buthow has this shaped the lens through which
you write and compose your songs.I think you know, when you go
through that, you realize that youcan be tricked and not everybody here is
(12:37):
of a positive intention. And Ithink prior to finding that out, I
did believe that. I thought, well, if you just get to know
someone really, well, everyone's gota good heart at their core, and
I've come to realize that that's justnot true. There is an evil presence
in the world, and some people, not everybody here, like I said,
(12:58):
is of God or baby turns they'reback towards off. Maybe they were,
but they decided to turn their back. And your question was I'm sorry,
I would think of getting away fromthe question. What was a question
again? Yes, oh see thatyou do have experience with narcissistic abuse.
(13:20):
How has this experience really shape yourshape to your songs? Are do?
Say? Yeah? So once yousee, once you have that experience in
your personal life, you recognize thatthere's an even bigger presence that's just like
that in the world. And theseare people that seek out positions of power
(13:43):
an influence in the world. Theseare the people that have are narcissistic.
There are leaders, there are governmentleaders, the people in Hollywood, the
people at the top of the foodchain, because they seek out that power
their egos do. So what thathas done is that like I used to
have this this self loading about whymy music wasn't successful, like I must
(14:07):
not be talented, or you know, something must be wrong with my music.
But I think after recognizing that, and somebody I listened to on YouTube
who's helped me recognize that is stillUmbella. She really hoped open my eyes
to the satanic influence in the musicbusiness and in Hollywood as well. And
(14:30):
once you realize that, it's like, oh, I was never going to
sell out if you will. Iwas never going to change where I was,
or deny God or in my faceor anything to be part of that
system. So I think now like, I'm not I'm not a part of
that, and I'm glad. Ratherthan being like self loading and judgmental of
(14:52):
myself and worshiping these people, I'mlike, oh, I'm glad I'm not
a part of that. I'm justgoing to stay over here where things are
good, even if I don't makea lot of money, even if I'm
never famous. That was never thegoal anyway. My music was always to
inspire, to heal, to providecreative opportunities to others, to provide a
(15:18):
sense of unity. It was neverto have people worship me or make a
ton of money or be famous. That was never the goal. So just
kind of solidified all that for me, and now I feel much freer to
just write the songs that I wantto write because I'm not looking to make
(15:39):
it quote unquote, I'm just lookingto express myself and express you know,
the God forced through my music. If that makes sense, it does,
it does, all right, guys. We are about to jump into ocean
Breeze featuring Doug Rusk is buying NicoleMarie and it will be back, so
(16:00):
I'll stay tune. I am bornewith the Mona, I am born with
the world, and my soul isexplore in the ocean breeds. It has
some further sunrise high whoakes me fromthe head. It's all is on the
(16:41):

for morning paints because you re intoit shows free and it's healing falls upon
(17:03):
us songs, so there es noneed for green ocean brace. In the
moning ocean breeze, all in Him, loving peace are our summar ray of
the barber collecting. The waves areharmonic and they close set form green and
(17:40):
the coral sings a chorus of onelittle unessent springs. There's a points that's
demonic, but I'm focusing our oceanbreeze in the distance, growing a far
(18:02):
from me ocean breeze, the morningocean breeze, wall coming peace, soring
o the collect oran breeze was breeze. It's a boy starts to mown hack,
(18:40):
but it's power who is from him? A ocean breeze in the Montain
hands keeping heath afar from me,ocean breeze in the mona Han ocean breeze,
roll in hand, loving peace arenow so alright above barb collady ocean
(19:08):
breeze and the moaning ocean breeze, and loving peace above all the collective bar
the collecting above, by the collectedabove bar wastion breeze, alright, alright
(19:53):
to welcome back the guys would anawesome, awesome song ocean breeze. Let's
bring the ko Marie back on?All right, all right. I can't
help but feel a strong spiritual undertonein ocean breeze. How do your spiritual
beliefs intertwine with your music? Yeah? So, My spiritual background is that
(20:17):
I was born and raised into theCatholic family. My grandmother was very,
very devout, and I went toprivate school, Catholic private school until about
fifth grade. Then I switched topublic that I kept going to church and
eventually got confirmed in the Catholic Church. I kind of fell away from it
(20:40):
a little bit and just kind ofidentified as just Christian. But I'm I'm
not I would I'm not what youwould consider like a judgmental Christian or friend
thementalist. Because I've had to workwith so many people, so many different
faiths. I kind of got toknow about our faith through my work is
a social worker and a mental healthcounselor, and I've always been interested in
(21:07):
the metaphysical, so I've never beenafraid to like explore other spiritualities except for
the darker stuff. Yeah, soit really I've always been a very spiritual
person and I've always been a spiritualseeker. So everything that I read and
everything that I hear, and everythingthat I gravitate towards really informs my music.
(21:32):
But there's always going to be aChristian undertone because I've always really related
to the spirit of Jesus absolutely absolutely. I love that. I love that.
And you know, as you weretalking, I thought, man,
that's crazy that she has to saythat that that you're a Christian but not
(21:52):
one of the judgmental Christians. Yeah, I know, I know. I'm
a Christian as well, and evenlike the past ten fifteen years, I've
been real, just real careful aboutthat label too. Should I say I'm
a Christian because of the perception ofwhat comes with that label, automatically think,
(22:15):
oh, yeah, those are thepeople that judge really really hard.
A percentage that do Yeah. Anyhow, anyhow, so your spirituality a blend
of Christianity with yoll get. Ithink that's how you pronounced that and other
(22:40):
influences is fascinating. How does thiseclect mix inspire your lyrics and things?
Yeah, so, because I'm alwayslike reading about spiritual things and people's testimony.
Right now, I'm reading The GirlsWho Saw Heaven, which is just
a fast ename book that I wouldrecommend. It's oftentimes you know other people,
(23:04):
things people tell me, or thingspeople share with me, either as
a counselor or in the books thatI read that inspired me in addition to
my own experiences. So yeah,I think I think that's what's missing from
a lot of music and today today'sworld. There's almost like an anti Christian
(23:29):
movement that I've heard because I workwith a lot of gen Zeers and millennials
too, and I hear it fromthem. I work with so many different
generations that I hear it. They'relife they say, oh yeah, all
my friends or atheists, and it'snot good. It's seen as a bad
thing to be Christian, you know, among the younger generations, like they're
(23:51):
either delusional or you're not smart becausescience is the answer to everything. And
I think you know, that's whatconnects us though, is our spirit not
just to each other, but alsoto our source, our creator. So
what are we without that? SoI think that's missing in a lot of
(24:15):
our music today, and I hopeit comes back and that we are all
respectful of each other's beliefs, exceptfor those that of course harm harmed people
are harmed children especially, I'm verypassionate about that. Any belief like Satanism
or Luciferianism that harms children or harmsother people, I think has to go
(24:45):
