Speaker 3 (01:07):
Before I bring my guest on, I do want to
say that you know, sometimes you have to do it
with decisiveness. If you could live your life backwards, it
would be easy to avoid mistakes. You could simply look
back on the mistakes clearly and unmistakably see them coming,
and move in another direction. But you know, in the

(01:27):
real world, where time moves only forward, avoiding mistakes is
not nearly so easy to do. For the only way
to completely avoid mistakes is to completely.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Avoid taking action. But you know that, of course, would
be the biggest mistake of all, for although you would.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
Never make any mistakes, you would never move forward either,
and never get anything done. In order to accomplish anything,
you have to accept the fact that you're going to
make some mistakes, and you would never set out to
intentionally make a mistake, and it's wise to take reasonable
precautions against them and then have the courage to move forward,

(02:10):
to make definite decisions to take you know, specific actions,
even though.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Even though.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Some will turn out to be mistakes. When the mistakes
do come, that very saying decisiveness will.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Get you will get you quickly past them. My name
is Coach Steiny, and change is possible. Are you ready? Hi?

All right, doing great?

I'm doing great.

Speaker 2 (05:28):

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Indeed, indeed, we are happy to have you here. Before
we dive into your story, what's been on your heart
and mind lately?

Speaker 6 (05:40):
Say that again, I.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Said, what's been on your heart and mind lately?

Speaker 6 (05:46):
Oh, reach in more people with my music. I have
so much to share, and that scene behind me has
so much to share, and we just want everybody to
hear what we have and be inspired and be up listed.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
So that's what's been on my mom indeed.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Indeed, you describe your debut single as more than just
a love song. It's about energy, unity and confidence. What
was the moment of inspiration that made you say this
is the song I need to release.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
First, you know, we.

Speaker 6 (06:27):
Were all in studio and we.

Speaker 7 (06:29):
Were vibing.

Speaker 6 (06:31):
And myam day Laws he struck a chord and just
started playing around with the music and at that time,
we were all in seeda and just like vibing and
talking about our daily lives, the things that have impacted us.
And you know when he started on that beat, like

(06:55):
that song been around came to us right in that
moment when we were talking all the things that we've
all gone through and how love and how you know,
falling in love or just the love of music or
the love of whatever makes us happy keeps us going
on a daily and that just impacted exactly how we

(07:18):
wrote that song and was able to record it and
share it to the world, so that that was the
main inspiration behind it.

Speaker 7 (07:29):
In D and D.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Did you have any influence in the production, Well.

Speaker 6 (07:35):
Yes, we did have some influences of a number of
artists has influenced us and myself. And when I say us,
because it's a theme that is always behind the artist.
I know a lot of people think it's usually the
artist alone, but always the whole Pieto. I love to

(07:57):
I'd like people to know that it takes a lot
the effort to just bring even one song to the world.
And so the inspiration behind Ben and Iron comes from
a number of the artists that came before me, starting
all the way from when I was growing up and
listening to reggae or gospel or Shirley Caesar H. Barry's having,

(08:21):
Bob Marley going all the way, tore Arisa Frankly, your
Dennis Brown, Nina Simone, Edna James, coming into Mark, Terry Whitney, Houston,
Michael Jackson, You know, all of those people influenced the
music that I was able and the theme of us
were able to put together.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Yeah, yeah, definitely. Did you Did you get to add
any flavor in there when it came to the production?

Speaker 6 (08:50):
Oh? Absolutely absolutely I did. From you hear the intro,
that was me.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Right there right there? Wow, okay, okay, nice? Right absolutely.

Speaker 8 (09:02):
When you hear that, hey, it's kind of like somebody
be like, hey, you know, go listen, listen and you
know the bas and and laws on peas and you know,
the rest seem getting in their little part.

Speaker 6 (09:21):
But I'm telling you the light, like I said, when
you hear that, hey, that's right here, that's it.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Yeah, you mentioned wanting your listeners to feel like they
can take.

Speaker 7 (09:33):
On the world when they hear this song, Like, what.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Does that moment feel like for you? And you feel
like you can take on the world?

Speaker 7 (09:42):
You know what?

Speaker 6 (09:44):
They just buryedgear to my heart?

Speaker 9 (09:47):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (09:48):
You know a lot of us we have many talents
or many passions or something that drives on a daily
to do what we do. And sometimes along the way,
life happens and you know, something pushes off or pushes
us off the track and we feel like you know,

(10:10):
we can't get do what we want to do. And
I I started out with music in Jamaica, and I
took a break at one point because music, you know,
it does take a lot, and then life happens sometimes
and you gotta take a minute. And when I reconnected

(10:30):
with music, it just made me feel like, Wow, I
could take on anything. I could really just get up
and go do what really inspires me, what really gets
me going, what motivates me. And I want people to
feel that way, you know, So spinning around. That's what

(10:51):
spinning around really did, is like it gave me that
that reverse of going, let's go, let's get it, you know,
and that's what I want to feel. Hey, don't give
up on your dreams and don't give up on your
ass for reaching. Keep going, let's.

Speaker 7 (11:09):
Go get it.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Indeed, all right, guys, we're about to jump into some.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Music and then we'll be back with more Phoenix Rain.
Stay tuned.

Speaker 7 (11:21):
The song is called spending around.

Speaker 10 (11:34):
The Sun and the lawn don't even shine to get up.

Speaker 9 (11:42):
A bit of speak when goodbyes me to get up,

Speaker 2 (11:55):

Speaker 9 (13:17):
Please tell the teach.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
Turn the recruiter and just batting yourself.

Speaker 10 (13:23):
Understanding about spanning never stops like a merry go round.

Speaker 5 (13:29):
I'm standing like goodsun co me, standing about I can't
wait to reach your top. TENO, stop in the stander, now,
baby's going understanding a battle. Spanning never stops like a
merry go round. I'm saying like a tuning come me

Speaker 3 (13:56):
All right, all right again, welcome to the show you're
listening to or l that's Vigilantes Radio live right here
on Iheart's Radio.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
And my name is DENI. That was spinning around.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
Wow, okay, okay, spinning around by Phoenix Rain. So this
song is definitely a vibe. That is an experience. You know,
I'm trying to think what kind of closed the word
with a song like this. All right, all right, let's
go ahead and bring Phoenix Rain back on. Maybe she
would know, Hey, Phoenix Rain, welcome back, Welcome back. That

(14:34):
is a good question.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
What would you wear to a song like this?

Speaker 6 (14:40):
Oh, definitely you gotta you gotta have on some booths
for some booty okay, and and some skates maybe if
you're out on a gating ring. Tell you what something
that I love to be in these of some shorts

(15:01):
or some seated mini skirts you nice fell the top
prop tops and you know, just be happy and bowity.
Also you could have some prinpele on there, you know,
get your little disci.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
Going indeed, you know, yeah, yeah, So growing up in Jamaica,
you were surrounded by, you know, legendary artists gospel music.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
How did that all shape the way that you approach
your sound today?

Speaker 6 (15:34):
Well, you know what, I grew up here and my
mom saying, my aunt, my grandmother. Every Sunday the music
would wake you up out of your sleep. They started
with some gospel songs, That's how that had started. And
we'd go off to church and and and come home

(15:56):
and then the music would change from God Pull into
reggae or pop or R and B or soul or
dead And I feel like that should helped shape my
music because now you can hear the sounds coming out
in my phone. I'm not specific to any genre, so

(16:18):
sometimes depending on the song or the theme of what
we're working on, you will hear that solalogy. And I
feel like that is that is how that shapes me
and influenced me.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
Uvely lovely, So your music is all about love and
unity in the world that sometimes feel divided, especially now.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Do you think music still has the power to bring
people together? Oh?

Speaker 6 (16:48):
Absolutely absolutely. You know, I grew up with the sensation
that you didn't have to speak the language to live
with the music. So the music transcends language. It transcends gender,
it transcends race, it transcends politics, education, It doesn't matter

(17:13):
what it is. Music can speak to you. So absolutely,
I believe that music could join us together. And that's
what's been and around is with everything that's going on.
I mean, while the world turns and spin, let's let's
spend and around bringing together on a dance floor, because
that's what music used to do and still should do
for people. You know, come on out, let's go enjoy yourselves.

(17:36):
Let's love on ourselves and love on each other and
create that atmosphere to know that each one depends on
the others. You know, we can't do them as we can.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
That's right, That's right, yeah, right. What can our listeners
look forward to?

Speaker 6 (17:57):
Well, got a number of things going on in the pot,
stirring and cooking and making some really amazing, amazing flavors
for you guys. We have a remix coming out of
Spinning Around, and it's just one of the takes on
what's spinning around is about and how much it can

(18:21):
change depending on your food or even where you're at,
and still give you the vibe to continue to be inspired.
So we've got that coming out and we also have.
I also have an amazing song that we're currently working
on that will be out shortly. We just want to

(18:44):
get everything together. But I'm excited for everybody to hear
about it because it is just and you'll hear another
little bit of vitality come out. You'll also hear a
little bit more of all the other influences that have
influenced and all the other artists that came before me.

(19:05):
You know, I'm just so grateful for how music tends
to shape us and how other people that came before
us keep, you know, helping us grow and reach the
heights that we.
