I want you to guys, tocome along with us, dive deep

(06:06):

for having me. Absolutely, howare you? I'm great? How about
you? I'm grit as well.Thank you for asking. So first things
first, Sasha, of course, welcome to the show. But Free to
(06:27):
Be Me is lighting up the charts. Tell us how does it feel to
see your song rock it up?You know, the iTunes pop charts and
just one day it feels amazing.I was so excited to hear that my
song admitted onto the charts only acouple of hours after being released. Did
(06:50):
you expect that? I did not. I expected nothing like that. I
was so excited. Little all right, So your song, it talks about
being yourself and finding joy no matterwhat, with all that you've been through.
(07:13):
Where do you find that inner strengthto remain so positive just from everywhere.
I have a really great life.I get to go on all these
adventures, and it's just amazing todo that. All right, all right,
And I believe I've read somewhere thatyou collaborate with the production and writing
(07:38):
team. Tell us about that teamworkand how is it working with folks who
are helping you put your thoughts intomusic? Okay, So I work with
lover Vic Sounds. They are myproduction company, or I guess my producers.
They're amazing to work with and Ijust enjoy making music with them so
(07:59):
much. I am eleven years oldand I'm a singer and songwriter based out
of Atlanta. I produced the songFreaking Me. And I always loved singing
from a young age. I enjoyedperforming and I was always around music when
(08:20):
I was younger, and that kindof got me jump started as a singer
and songwriter. I did many afterschool programs where I did music and I
learned various instruments with a lot ofdifferent people. I've learned guitars, ukulele,
drums, piano, clarinet, violin, and I thing. So I
(08:41):
learned a bunch and I just reallyenjoy doing all those instruments and being on
stage and performing and I just lovedthe attention. Absolutely, yeah, go
ahead, I'm sorry you all right? All right? And you know as
(09:05):
you were growing up, you werediagnosed at a young age, but you've
been a fighter that you are turnedcompletely into music. Can you talk about
that journey and how music was therefor you? So right after we had
recorded a song, I was diagnosedwith you in sarcona, which is a
metastatic phone cancer, and I wentthrough radiation femal and I had to be
(09:30):
of your move and during that fulltime I've been in and out of the
hospital and seeing how many people haveto go through something that I had to
go through and how hard the timecan get. It's just I want my
music to make them feel better, and we want them to do that they're
not alone in their journey and thatthere's other people that have gone through and
that they can get through it aswell. Absolutely. Wow. And you've
(09:56):
been singing since you could talk. Are there any early memories that your family
shares what to do? I Myfirst play was a musical called Cats,
and that's kind of one of thememories that I had, and I've always
remembered that because it was the firstmusical I ever did on stage, and
(10:20):
so that's a big memory for mymusic career. Also being able to play
in a live band I played.I did School of Rock and we played
as a band and we did coversongs. For example, I did Three
Little Birds by Bob Marley. Sothat's also a really big memory of when
I started. So it's just amazingto be able to do that. Yeah,
(10:43):
would you ever perform in Cats again? Yeah, I definitely would.
It's so fun to perform. Idefinitely love performing It's so ung. But
I also just like saying, like, one of my favorite songs is voking
me a rap city back queen, and my dad always played queen songs for
me. So that's also a bigthing that I like to do, like
(11:07):
to sing. I'll go out andall things anywhere, alsing on the streets
of things. Was walking around andone time I actually got I was on
a cruise a dinner fruit and theywere singing Zombie by the Cranberry and I
heard it and I ran down thereand I started like lift singing kind of
whistler singing it. And they hadcalled me up from stage, and that
(11:30):
was the first time I ever likeperformed like that, like not on stage
where like there's like a bunch ofpeople in a theater, because that was
the first time I was ever juston stage at like a big event,
and so that was amazing And thatactually just happened when I finished Radiation.
That was the last thing we didin Boston, was we we did we
(11:52):
did a song and I performed andit was crazy. It was amazing,
and so many people came up afterwards. Made me feel so happy that it
made them happy. And it's justso cool to be on stage. Yeah,
and as you keep doing that, just the crowd will keep getting bigger
and bigger and bigger. So notonly do you sing, but you play
(12:13):
instruments and you know, uh startedcreating your own beats. Which instrument is
your favorite and why? Definitely piano. It's for me. I just I
really like it and it was reallyeasy for me to learn. Also,
it's interesting I've been playing for thelongest amount of time. I've been playing
(12:35):
the piano since I was about fiveor six. Yeah, so that's one
of my favorite instruments for sure, and I want to learn how to play
another instrument on the cello, doyou guys what's Twdnesday? So and when
there's a cello scene, and Ireally enjoyed listening to that, and so
(12:58):
I really wanted to learn how toplay the cello. So I'm still I
ask my parents if we could getone, and they said, yeah,
let's get you into lessons and letyou get lossons with to bayou tello,
and so I really want to learnhow to do that. I just really
enjoy learning the instruments. Nice.Nice, Alright, alright, so you've
mentioned that you like Queen A lotof their music inspired you. But can
(13:26):
you share with us a song thatalways lifts your spirit no matter how you're
feeling. You could play the songand it automatically helps you feel better.
Medicine for the People by Knucklebart. That's a really good song because it's just
so like it's a very deep songand it's about it's like a really emotional
(13:48):
song, and I just really enjoyit because it always makes me happy.
It's a long song, but Icould really enjoy it, and I think
it every time it goes on theradio. So that's that's the song that
always makes me happy when I listenedto it. Alright, alright, well
we are getting ready to play.Free to be me. There will be
(14:09):
right back for Moura Sasha Friedman, stay tune, here we go. I
can see in your eyes that you'rewatching me moving through this life too.
Mahomie got none's opinions, the whommiebacks. Yes, ain't no beside.
(14:35):
This is the real real because Iknow in my heart that I'm the real
deal. I'm gonna let anybody stealmy shine. Yes, life shouldn't be
so It's time we have some fun. Yeah, whats gonna domus to take
(15:01):
a strolly? Nobody gonna take mobbies? You have a friend, nobody you
should like? You read you knowyou always the invitation is. You're always
(15:26):
just up to you to decide you'regonna hold up the wall plates, the
sidelines. Rap can take control ofa brand new life. Don't be afraid,
go on to busy yourself. Youcan take my hand. You know
I'll be that out. They'll bebratter stays when you choose to embrace the
proof you are. Life shouldn't beso hard. It's time we have some
(15:52):
fun. Ye, what's looking tothe rest of It's gonna do you take
it from me? Nobody gonna takemobbi. Yeah, you got the free
time? Nobody you like the rhythmodall this? You? Oh to the
(16:21):
rest, to the rido, Yeah, oh, just to the Risdom,
to the Risdom. Nobody gonna stopme be in myself? Yeah, just
(16:45):
to the Risdom. Nobody gonna stopme being myself? Can to the rhythm.
It's how well you want to takeit? Nobody lobby you? Alright?
(17:25):
Alright, welcome back again. Wow. That was Free to Be Me
by Sasha Freeman. Oh man, what an incredible jam. I was over
here rocking and grooving, oh yeahand moving. All right, let's go
ahead and bring Sasha back. Hello, Hello, Hello, you're back with
(17:45):
us. Hello, thank you somuch for playing that song. I'm so
honored to be on your show.Absolutely, I love that song. Wow,
such an incredible job. Thank you, Thank you so much. The
song is the song is supposed tobring like happiness, and it's supposed to
(18:06):
make people feel like they're free tobeat themselves and they don't have to be
pushed around. They're free to bethemselves. And that's okay because everyone should
be free to be themselves, Likewhy not no one's gonna stop me.
Indeed, so many hospital patients, young and old, are facing challenges as
(18:27):
you did. How do you hopeyour music aided them in their recovery journey.
I want my music to make themhappy. I want them to feel
like they can get through it andthat they're not the only one and other
people have done it and that theycan do. And finally, Sasha,
(18:49):
as you continue to grow, what'snext for you? I want to be
heard and I want to make peoplefeel happy, and that's really what I
want. I actually have another songthat's coming out very soon. It's about
Ai, and I think it's goingto be a really big hit because AI
(19:11):
is very popular right now. Ilove the song so much. It's just
an amazing song, all right.I can't wait to hear it. It's
basically about a robot falls in lovewith a boy and tells the boy I'm
a robot and he tries to pullthe plug on her, but when he
(19:33):
posts the plug, he turned intoa vehical and some's right now, AI
doesn't have any feelings. I madeit so after that, she didn't move
done, she didn't have feelings forhim anymore. And because I know that
that's a lot of things that peoplestruggle with. People can struggle with breakups
and it's not the best time,it's not the time that they want to
relist. But I want my songsto make them feel like they can't like
(19:55):
that it's okay. Other people havedone it and you can get through it
and it's okay. And so Itry to make my songs happy, but
they're still about something sad that youdon't want to hear about, or something
that you don't want to talk about. So that's kind of what AI is
about. And so that to night, I think it's the big hit.
(20:17):
Can't wait to hear it. Yourstory, Sasha, is truly inspirational,
and I'm sure your music will continueto uplift and heal many. Thank you
so much for joining us tonight. We appreciate your time. Thank you so
much for having me. Absolutely takecare and have a wonderful night. Are
