well as your journey in IT and professionalism. So vin
Katta again, welcome to the show.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
You've been leading high impact transformations for years. What's been
on your heart and mind lately as you think about
the future of enterprise technology and your role in shaping it.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Lick. I have around twenty years of experience in SAP
IT and IT consulting, So I've been I've been like
looking into the companies Fortune five hundred companies, how they
are transferred transforming from legacy systems way back in twenty
years back, how they do their transactions to the real

(05:09):
live data nowadays. Like so this all journey is like
was a transformational journey. So initially they used to perform
all the things on in prey on prem servers where
they have the limited capacity, limited computing, limited memory. Now
they are like everyone, like most of the Fortune five

(05:31):
hundred companies, they are planning or they are already in
plan to move to their systems to either on prem
on a higher infrastructure or through cloud platforms like Hyperscale,
Google Airplus, Azure or like Ali Baba. So like with
these they are they are planning to do expand their

(05:54):
IT landscapes in a bigger way where they can easily
get the resources with a cheaper cost and all so
they'll get the data, the real time data in their
dashboards very quickly. So this journey like in the at
least at least I can see the transformations in the
last ten years. It's been like phenomenal and the transformation
is happening at a higher pace now. So where the

(06:17):
company wants everything, all the data into their cloud infrastructure
and they want to access the data at any time
with their analytics tools. So there are like several tools
to achieve this one but major tools are Azure Data Factories,
Azure pipelines, alas integrations and also the SAP Business Technology Platform.

(06:42):
So a SAP is also evolving as part of their
digital transformation. They are moving from their legacy enterprise resource
planning to modernized SAP Business Technology platform where they are
hosting the servers on the cloud platform and giving the
giving the resources and application as a pass. Like a

(07:06):
platform platform, they can use end customers and they can
achieve everything in a click. So the customer they don't
have to anything host on a private infrastructure. They can
just simply buy the subscription with a SAP and use
their software and get the results. Also a SAP, a
SAP is rolling out a SAP data sphere where the

(07:29):
data will transform will the data will flow from the
SAP like underlying a SAP on prem or the transactional
systems to the enterprise cloud. And also they will be
performing the data processing data cleansing and once the data
is cleansed, it is ready for business to access it
on their dashboards through different tools like power pi or

(07:51):
like alters or they have any other tool they can do.
So this whole journey is like transforming rapid and changing
like everything in within six months. And now they are
integrating artificial intelligence and the machine learning capabilities into the
data whatever the data they already have in the crowd.

(08:12):
So they are applying this machine learning things. And also
they are training the their next gen AI agents with
the large language models and they are they are rolling
out these l l ms and the AI agents in
their in their projects where where they can achieve multiple

(08:34):
like res queries at the same time. See means like
ten people can do the job, but this one AI
agent can do a ten people ten person's job. So
the companies are spending a lot on this AI and
mL and now they are like integrating this AI and
mL into all their systems, so which means the end

(08:55):
user whoever is accessing the data, they'll get the real
time data within no time and within a few seconds.
So this journey like from the legacy enterprise systems to
digital transformation where everything is in the cloud. It's like
it's a phenomenon. And major companies like the Island major

(09:16):
are like Exonmobile deity, energy utilities and the banking are
and the retail companies like PepsiCo and everyone, they are
implementing these tools where they want, like they want to
achieve a higher productivity at a low cost. So these
are the main techniques and tools used by them. Tiputs.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Oh wow, And and you know it's perfect that you
mentioned AI agents. So allowed into my open ai account
this morning and I was met with a welcome message
to try AI agents, And I was like what it
could do the job? It could do any job.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
It has its own computers online, it could make reservations,
it could do re search, papers, spreadsheets, you name it.
My only concern is that is it replacing like the
work process?

Speaker 2 (10:09):
You know? And I don't know how we make life easier,
but I don't want to. I don't want life to
be so easy that you know, I can't use my brain.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
It's not like that demasist. But the thing is like
that digital transformation, it's going in a quite quite fast,
fast paced where they want to do multiple things at
one time. But the on the other hand, it's not
it's not about something like it's losing the jobs for
ordinary people. But the people has to upscale their skills

(10:43):
and they have to learn all these concepts and how
of large language models and how to train the AI
agents and all the like like. There are several new
technologies which can feed this AI agent. So so the
person who is working in an IT he has to
like or she has like whoever is working, they have
to upscale their skills and they need to transform. They

(11:07):
need to transform their entire skill sets so that they
can match up to this current generation and the current
pace of this AI agents Demetrius.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
Indeed, indeed, so we're going to rewind the clock just
a little bit. You went from India to leading SAP
transformations for Fortune five hundred companies. I'm sure that journey
was an incredible one for you. But what values from
your early.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
Life still guide you in high stakes take projects today?

Speaker 3 (11:39):
See like uh, I used to work in my rereer
in India for the like Fortune five hundred clients through
the intervis service companies. The only thing UH like we
used to have like hundreds of people at offshore in India.
We used to manage, we used to deliver, we used
to build the systems. But the only thing the values

(12:01):
I can see is the trust. So the company or
the client, So whoever is giving the project or it's
giving the work to us, they are keeping trust on us.
We have to build, we have to make them happy
and we have to deliver whatever we have accepted on
time and smoothly. Like the solution has to be resilient,

(12:22):
simple and the cost efficient. So the main main areas
where the end client or the customer wants. They wants
their solution to be simple, fast, resilient and the cost effective.
And also they want the solution within the time bound
what we have agreed. So these are the main core
values I bought from my early career in India to

(12:45):
us to and also I'm following the same values as
of today. So trust is the main thing and hard
work and the smart work. Demetrius I can say, the
only thing is everyone wants to spend less and they
want to achieve more, so we have to design the
solutions simple, resilient and cost effective for them. So these

(13:07):
are the main values. I brought it from my early
career to us.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
Yeah, and you specialize in near zero down time migrations
for the non technical listeners or for those who are
interested in migration cloud migration.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
How is that possible?

Speaker 3 (13:25):
See like neared zero time downtoime migration. I'll explained in
like ten seconds, like what the core concept. So imagine
there is a oil major or there is a major
utility customer like Examobile example, I'm taking the name as example. Okay,
so they have their system up all the twenty four

(13:46):
hours and their business will run like all the twenty
four hours seven days a week, these sixty five days
a calendar. So whenever we perform any technical upgrades. In
the earlier time, it used to take a taste a
four or five days of downtime for the production. So
at the time the customer has to manually do all

(14:06):
this transaction on a different server to get this downtime.
But this near zero downtime migration is so we are
building a parallel system exactly same as a primary system,
in the same separate box. We are doing all the
uptime operations, all the uptime operations on the secondary box.

(14:27):
Whenever we do the downtime means whenever we do the
technical core technical part like a few hours, we few hours,
it will be done on the secondary system, and whatever
the transactions happened between the start of the downtime and
the end of the downtime, like four or five hours,
we'll replicate everything to the secondary system, make the secondary

(14:48):
system as a primary system, and allow all the users
to access this system via gateway, so that instead of
having four or five days of downtime, we can achieve
this by at least three to four hours of downtime.
This is called as a near zero downtime migration approach
where they have the two systems built in parallel. Two
systems will be working and once the upgrade is completed,

(15:12):
the entire load will be routed to the secondary server
so that they can feel this as a primary server
and there will not be any downtime for more than
like three four hours or dimitry.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Wow wow wow. And you've worked with the zoo AWS,
SAP BTP data breaks. Which platform combination is cites you
the most? Right now?

Speaker 3 (15:39):
A good question from you. So the one platform I
can see is more resilient is see the enterprises have
tons of data transactional data, so they want everything to
be stored on a cheaper on the cheaper and high
efficient storage which is called Azure data lakes. So it's
a cheaper location, cheaper way of storing the data. So

(16:03):
the customer is the customers nowadays they are they are
replicating that their means they are passing the data transactional
data to the AGUE data legs. Once the data is
in the Ague data legs, the cheaper location, the data
engineers will who works on this data will cleanse this
data according to the business teams and the analytics team requirement.

(16:27):
So once they cleanse the data, they will put this
data in a separate schemas or separate separate storage area
in the same Age data legs, and the business who
is accessing this data in the real time through their
dashboards use the data bricks runtime engines to access this
cleansed data. So this is the cheapest and the best

(16:48):
and the smartest approach for storing the data and accessing
it through the analytics dashboard. So ASU data bricks and
the Ague data legs and the data breaks the best combination.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
YEAH and AI in real thom analytics or change in
R p systems. I don't know. I had a question
earlier about AI agents, but what are companies still misunderstanding
about AI enterprise.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
There are some customers who are like hesitant to implement
the AI and implement this high end digital solutions where
they have their more audit kind of scenarios, like example
the pharma where if they want to implement or if
they want to upgrade any of their systems, they have
so many checklists there which has to be completed. So

(17:38):
those customers are a little bit hesitant, but they are
also slowly transforming the way they operate and they implement
their systems. So like one of the major company like
I can't say the name here, but they are they
have started the transformation of their idea operations from the

(18:00):
additional on prem systems to the digital digital enterprise systems
on the cloud. And also they are implement integrating this
AI and EMIL concepts things into their real time data.
The farmer industry is the main one, the little bit
hesitant one. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Yeah, So let's talk about your leadership. You've managed both
high regions forty plus member teams. How do you lead
effectively across TARM zones and cultures.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
This is like a good question. So in twenty fourteen,
I used to manage around like seventy people for the
semiconductor company, which is a top two company in US
in the world today. They used to have like twenty
plus safe landscapes, and their business is in multiple time zones,

(18:54):
like so they have business in Asia, Pacific, Europe, US
and also other regions, so they're they're like there. They
used to set up the teams in like in a
way that every team has a technical non technical and
also the primary roles and responsibilities we we like I've

(19:15):
delegated to like each and every team member of the offshore.
So when whoever comes to the shift or whoever comes
to the office, they have to look into the primary
into all the tickets, whatever the work they have. And
they used to be a like a handover call at
each at the end of each shift. And also during
that handover call, we'll discuss what went code, what went wrong,

(19:37):
what what areas we have to improve and also what
are the areas where the client is affecting most and
what are the what are the things where the client
wants the resolution quickly. So based on these calls, like
we I used to manage around like four teams across
multiple time zones where I used to work like two

(19:59):
hours like in each time zone, and I used to
manage my eight hours or nine hours work like that.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
Demeter is, yes, what's your secret to keep in communication
clear under pressure?

Speaker 3 (20:14):
First of all, we have to take the work or
whatever the risks we have at the time, and we
have to understand. I need to understand it clearly and
with a calm mind. I used to I need to
come up with a solution at the roadmap. What are
the things that we can do in a short term
or like quickly, and what are the items or whatever
the work we have like which takes longer time. So

(20:37):
based on that, I will I will have a call
with the leadership or the customer and I will explain
clearly what we can do with the existing workforce or
with the existing things we have in hand, and what
we can deliver it in shortly and which takes long time,
whatever takes long time. So based on the clear understanding
between the leadership, team customer, and I'll set the expectations

(21:01):
clearly that this is going to happen in this much
hours of time and these things they're going to take
a little bit time, a little bit long. So the
communication is the key part here, Demitri, is if we
communicate the things in a right way, the end customer
or the leadership will leadership, will team will accept that fund.
That's the main communication is the main here.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
Yeah, and wouldn't it be nice to train and develop
people who were just like us or like you in particular,
But how do you develop the next wave of technical leaders?

Speaker 3 (21:39):
Right? This is the right question. So the thing is
like whatever the work we do as part of the team,
as part of the company, we will develop a standard
operating procedures and we will develop the keynotes for each
and every activity whatever we perform as a part of
the daily job. So with keeping things all standard operating

(22:01):
procedures in a shared place, and like whatever the documents,
the TSD technical technical diagrams or technical show chats, flow charts,
all this will be shared, will be in a shared point.
And every every month or every quarter we will have
the trainings set up for the newcomers or the new

(22:21):
people or the existing team members. So with his trainings
and the seminars and the quarterly workshops, will make sure
that the new people whoever is coming to this technology
or whoever is joining the team they have or they
will upscale or they will come up to the mark
and within no time. The key, the key part is

(22:42):
whatever we work, will will document this as a standard
operating procedures and whatever the things we follow, like the
some of the links, some of the webels, some of
the web links, everything, will will save and will prepare
the documents so that a layman, a new person, whoever comes,
or whoever wants to learn this one they will learn
with no problem.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
You've spoken at global conferences, what is your core message
when you're in front of other IT leaders.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
My core message when I speak at the global conferences
is like how it is transforming from the legacy systems
or from the earlier digital systems, the new web, new
web three or like new cloud integrations, new cloud solutions,
and how the end customers they wants to access their

(23:35):
data within the real time through their dashboards. And also
like what are the things like the new the customers
wants to implement in the coming years, in the four
to five years or the ten years, what's the roadmap
for them? So my key, no, my key is talking
was about this only and also like as an individual

(23:56):
or as a technical person, what are the ways to
achieve this one and how to upscale our scale, upscale
our skills and also what are the ways to implement
this one as through resiliently, through simple and the cost
effective solutions.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Why is now a pivotal moment for cloud transformation.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
Poopital moment means like the thing is like customers or
whoever the companies they're hosting the data or their on
their own on trim, they are paying more and they're
getting there, they're getting they're getting the results, but they
are not getting the results as expected. Means like they
are spending more at their getting less. So this this

(24:42):
cloud transformation or this cloud migrations is required to save
the cost, to save the resources to and also have
the data up all the twenty four p seventy sixty
five days. And also they can spend less. They can
have this uh transfer like whenever they want to migrate

(25:04):
or integrate or implement any solution in the cloud, it's
just a few clicks away. Where they have to spend
a lot of time when they maintain the servers on
prem or in their own data centers. This is the
main thing like they are considering now and they are
planning to move everything from on prem to digital cloud.

Speaker 4 (25:25):
Looking forward, what innovations are you society to explore.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
The key innovations I'd like to explore is how how
we can train these large language models like AI agents
in a more efficient way so that they are more
helpful to the humans who are using them. And also nowadays,
like when we when we use any AI agent, they
are very expensive, like the simple agents what we subscribe

(25:53):
to one on chat, GPT or on like teps or
or Google Gemini. They are just basic AI agents. But
if the companies want to use a high end AI
agent which can take more tokens in an hour, but
is most expensive now. So my goal is to train
these AI agents in a simpler way and keep the

(26:16):
keep the cost down. So in the coming years, that's
the main area I'm planning.

Speaker 4 (26:20):
To do nice, nice all right, And where do you
see SAP and cloud architectures evolve in the next five years.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
So the SAP and cloud architectures are evolving in a
in a in a right way through the digital Everything
is digital now. So in earlier days, they used to
host their systems on their own data centers where now
everything is like software as a service or platform as
a service in the digital where they don't need to

(26:52):
spend anything on the building the server, but they just
tend to spend the money for using the software. So
I think in coming five to ten years, everything is
going to move from old legacy data centers to new
digital clouds. And our focus, whoever the IT engineers focused
or IT architect's focus is to how to is to

(27:15):
implement the solutions in a simpler and easiest way in
the digital cloud.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
Indeed, and what's one personal goal that you're determined to
achieve next?

Speaker 3 (27:28):
My personal goal is only to like learn new things,
keep top of whatever we are doing, and like keep
my skill sets like up to date all the time.
This is a thing.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
Where can our listeners connect with you on the internet
and find out more information about your work.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
Yeah, they can connect me through the LinkedIn. My LinkedIn
profile is there, So whatever the questions they have, I'll
answer like whatever the best my knowledge. So they can
always communicate with me on the LinkedIn on also the Instagram.

Speaker 4 (28:06):
And now have those links in the description of this
episode and in the show notes, so all you guys
can do is connect with Vincotta and write to him
if you need assistance. Today, Vincotta walters through what it
means to architect the future of enterprise it. He's doing
important work because this is a fast moving world.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
It's so fast, and he's merging deep technical mastery with
leadership that inspires transformation at scale. We've heard about his
journey from India to Fortune, found your boardrooms, his pioneering
work in near zero downtime migrations, and his vision for
AI driven ERP systems. So be sure to follow Vinkotta's work,
