Speaker 1 (00:06):
Welcome to Last Subject Podcast. Our mission at Vlatimer Subject
Ministries is to reach the world globally and disciple them digitally.
Let's dive into this episode.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Have you ever wondered why some people clearly hear God's
voice while others feel like they're just talking to themselves.
Imagine what your life, your ministry, as well as your
company would look like if you could confidently hear God's
voice every day or sense his guidance. Stick around, because

(00:47):
in just about next fifteen to twelve minutes, I'm going
to show you exactly how you can tune your spiritual
ears to hear God clearly. The first thing that I
want to highlight, and that is you have to position
yourself to listen. You have to be in a position
where you are listening, which means on practical level, quite

(01:09):
your surroundings or remove distractions by churning off your devices
and finding a quiet place. Some people love to go
on a walk. It's one of them is me who
loves to go on a hiking or a walk where
I encounter God, away from the civilization, away from the noise,
away from the constant bombardment of media, news and everything.

(01:34):
But you know, Quieting your surroundings is not the only
way you position yourself to listen. There's also quieting your soul.
It's when you quiet your soul Psalm forty six ten.
It says, be still and know that I am God.
See surroundings. The solitude is what's happening on the outside.

(01:56):
The stillness is what happens on the inside. And sometimes
in prayer, you bring to the Lord your concerns, your wordies.
You bring to the Lord things that kind of bother you. You
remove them from your heart, roll them down onto the Lord.
And this way your heart becomes free to enjoy God

(02:17):
and hear from Him. So that's one thing is position
yourself to listen by quieting your surroundings and experiencing stillness
in your soul. The second thing is prioritize God's word daily.
God speaks clearly through the Scripture, so daily Bible reading
sharpens your spiritual hearing. So meditate on God's word. Don't

(02:40):
just read. Spend intentional time reflecting on the short passages
to deeply internalize God's voice in your life. And that
could be through reading physical Bible, that could be through
having an audio Bible, that could be through Bible memorization,
but try to have a consistent intentional deposit of God's

(03:05):
word into your life, because that is how God's voice
becomes more clear and your actually spiritual hearing become more sharper.
The third thing is cultivate an attitude of expectancy. Expect
God to speak. Faith opens up your spiritual ears. Expectancy
is that faith anticipate God to speak. So one of

(03:29):
the things that Samuel said is speak Lord, your servant
is listening. I've recently did an interview with a pastor
lander Shot, and he talks about how that's his daily prayer.
Speak Lord, your servant is listening. So have an expectancy
you may actually include that into your prayer every day.
Speak Lord, your servant is listening. You know when you

(03:50):
go to sleep, Speak Lord, your servant is dreaming. So
intentionally expect God to speak. Some people have so much
doubt that they will mishear God, or that they will
misunderstand what God really means. I like to remind people
to have more faith in God's ability to speak than

(04:13):
in your ability to not hear God. Trust in God's
ability to speak. You are the sheep, He's the shepherd.
Sheep hear his voice. You're the child, He's the father.
Children hear the voice of parents. So you have to
trust in God's ability way more. And I think the
challenge that happens, and this was my problem before, is

(04:34):
that I actually struggle to hear God in my heart.
I didn't have a problem hearing God through somebody else,
like if a prophet would come in, if somebody gives
me a dream like I like, that was so much
easier to receive. But the Holy Spirit that lives in
me like that was I had so much doubt. I
always kind of had this thing where like, well, this
is just me. I'm just probably overthinking. And that's that's true.

(04:56):
Not everything that comes into our head, not everything that
comes through our heart or a conscience is from the Lord.
But as Christians who have new hearts and new spirits
have the Holy Spirit living in us, learn to trust
in God, the Holy Spirit who lives in you, who
speaks more. Then you have fear of you mishearing something

(05:18):
or you getting God's voice wrong. The fourth thing that
I want to share with you on how to hear
God speak is practice immediate obedience. Obedience sharpens your ears
when God speaks. Act immediately when you have delayed obedience,
and not because you're trying to get more confirmation or

(05:40):
really seeking to understand, but you kind of get lazy, mediocre.
What happens when you delay your obedience is you dull
your spiritual hearing. Act quickly on God's or spiritual prompts.
Responding promptly to God's instructions enhances your clarity and your ability.
You know, when Samuel was told by God through a

(06:03):
prophet to go and destroy a Malachites, and he half
obeyed it. You see, after that there was less and
less of God speaking. It actually got to the point
where a Saul no longer hurt God. In fact, he
wanted to hear God so bad he went to a
witch because God no longer spoke. And so when you
don't steward the voice of God, when you don't steward

(06:24):
the instructions of God, and you play into your fears,
you play into your doubts, and or you're just like, man,
this is too risky, too hard, it requires too much
of me. I'm just gonna check it out, you know,
I'm just gonna play it safe, and I'm just gonna
pretend that God didn't speak when clearly he did. What
begins to happen is that your spiritual sensitivities get dull.
It's not that God stopped speaking, as much as we

(06:48):
have trained our spiritual ears not to hear. The fifth
thing that I want to highlight to you, and that
is learn to recognize his voice. God's voice aligned with scriptures.
God's voice will bring peace. So learn to discern God's
voice sometimes very practical. Few questions I ask someone who

(07:09):
comes in and says, I'm not sure if this is
me or God? I say, okay, naturally does this align
with the scripture, with the general revelation of the scripture? Okay?
The second question is is this something you would naturally
want to do? Do you have like a stake in this?
People usually would say no, like no, I wouldn't want
to like, you know, give my car away, or I

(07:31):
wouldn't want to go and just talk to a stranger
about Christ. I wouldn't want to go and forgive this
person like it's in aligned with scripture, it's not in
line with my selfish desires, so which is another sign?
The third one is would this be in line with
the character that's revealed in the Bible about Saytan, because

(07:52):
we're trying to get ourselves out of the way, and
then we're trying to get the devil out of the way,
meaning like is this God? Is this me? Or is
this the devil?

Speaker 1 (07:59):
So?

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Is this line with the devil with what scripture reveals
about Satan? So Satan brings confusion, fear? If that's what
this brings, fear, confusion, you lack clarity, just tension pressure,
and then it is something that may be not in
line with the scripture. You pretty much have a very
clear way of seeing is this from God? Is this

(08:21):
from yours? This from the devil?

Speaker 1 (08:23):
So?

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Does this in line with the general relation of the
scripture and who God is? Is this in line or
not in line with yourselfish desires? And is this in
line with really what the Bible reveals about Satan? He's
a liar, he brings fear, he brings down and so
when you ask those questions, it is easier to discern,
you know what this probably is the Lord. And so
I have had so many experiences like that. Honestly, even

(08:44):
in the last few weeks with the Lord would wake
me up at like three o'clock in the morning, and
I would just have this clear download hey that this
is what I must do with ABCD. So what I
would do then is I would you know, of course,
write it down or put it on my phone. I
would pray more into it, and then I would take
a few days just kind of seek the Lord's wisdom

(09:05):
and guidance. Wait, is this my emotions or not? I
would consult few people in my life that I trust,
and I would say like, hey, I want to submit
this to you, Like, what do you feel about that?
Am I? I feel like it's from God? But am
I missing something here? Is this? There's unity that you
feel towards this? And so that's kind of how I

(09:25):
would process something that would come to me that I
would feel whether it's from the Lord or from me.
The other thing I would ask is that number six
ask God to speak clearly. So I already mentioned expect
God to speak clearly, but ask God to speak clearly.
Ask the Lord to speak to you, and then say, Lord,
confirm your word. Like Gideon, he had a hard time

(09:48):
believing that God told him to go attack and immediaanize,
and so he asked the Lord for science and God
gave him there so ask God to speak clearly, write
down what God speaks. Sometimes. What I found out this
is that when I sense the Lord speaking about something,
I would actually type it out on my computer or
on my phone, this is what I feel the Lord doing.
I have a whole folder of the words that the

(10:10):
Lord's given me from other people and the words that
I felt the Lord has given me directly to me,
and I would write them down. And sometimes as you
write them down, you begin to actually discern a lot
more of what the Lord is saying. The seventh thing
that I want to highlight and the last thing, and
that is this I would remove spiritual blockages. If you're
in the season right now where you really wanted to
hear God by your not hearing him. A few things

(10:33):
that I wanted to highlight. Two things. One of them
is where have you allowed sin that have not been
dealt with? Sin muffles God's voice of repentance restores clear hearing.
And the second thing blockage is on forgiveness. Where do
you have resentment towards somebody? Where do you have offense

(10:54):
towards somebody? Because those things they block your spiritual sensitivities
to the Holy Spirit. And I would add one more
thing that block spiritually is how you treat people in
your life that God will send to speak to you.
That could be a pastors, that could be a prophet,
that could be a mentor that is very clear God

(11:16):
is speaking, Like for David, it was Nathan, for Saul,
it was Samuel. And not that we rely on men
of God or people of God, but a lot of
times God will speak through someone and people who will
say I will only hear from God directly through dreams, visions,
through the scripture. I will never let nobody speak to

(11:37):
me to speak direction into my life from the Lord
or through the Lord. What happens is that we actually
can't grieve the Holy Spirit. Now this does not mean
that every prophetic word or everyone that comes to your
life and says God tells me this to you, that
you should blindly follow. And I have a whole video
about what to do if somebody gives you a word

(11:58):
and it doesn't have peace in your heart, Like how
do you process that? And I take the story of
Paul when he was given a word not to go
to Jerusalem and he still did it and God used that,
And so I have a whole video about that you
can check it out right below this video. But remove blockages, sin, unforgiveness,
and then how you treat God's gifts, holy spirits, gifts

(12:20):
in other people. So have a soft heart toward that.
Like I'm always open to both blind spots in my
life and for people to speak into my life who
are elders, some who are have prophetic edge in their
life and have a prophetic voice. Like sometimes some of
the strongest prophetic words I've received, they didn't come directly
to me from me. They came through somebody else, and

(12:42):
I took him as from the Lord. I felt peace
about it, felt confirmation, or wrote them down, even told
our church about it and ran with it. And it
really if I steward the voice of God that comes
into my life through other people, that really helps to
also strengthen my spiritual hearing. So these are some of
the things that I wanted to share with you on

(13:02):
how to hear God more clearly. So are you ready
to start hearing God clearly every day? Now? Will it
happen every day? Probably not, But position yourself every day
