Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, what's up everybody. Welcome into another episode of Prophet Picks.
If you are new, we always start this show by
being transparent, and there wasn't a show yesterday. Last time
we did talk, we talked out some WNBA. I had
another winner. I'm now what eight and one in the
WNBA playoffs, so I try to keep that going. I
talked about a lot of tennis plays. I think I
(00:21):
talked about five of them. I saw four of them
already go. Unfortunately, the two that I took where the losers.
The two that I didn't take where the winners. So
we need to pick a little bit better in tennis.
But WNBA is going well. And today we'll talk a
little bit of football. But before we do that, we
know it's good to be back with you. How's everything
going with you?
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Thanks are good? Ski. I did not play anything yesterday,
no w no football, and I'm still not involved in
baseball yet. But the playoffs are close. They're close Monday.
When we last talked, Today's Thursday, shiit was Tuesday four
and Nona played each game two different ways, all four
of them. One had Phoenix, team total over had Phoenix
(01:07):
plus the points had Las Vegas first quarter. I think
that was the best bet for the show. They did
the job right out of the shoot and they also
had them first half. So it was a nice day,
very productive day Tuesday, WNBA. So hopefully we can do
the same here tonight.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
Our today will be no basketball, a little bit of
Thursday Night football, and then we have a college football
game as well, so let's get straight to it. First
up will be one oh one, one o two. Seattle
and Arizona opened up, and this one I'm not sure
I saw it gets It depends where you shot for
the opener, but I see minus one and a half
where I'm looking at now for Seattle and still one
(01:50):
and a half right now. I think the look ahead
line was minus two and a half Arizona. I think
that's what it was. But after these injuries, things have
changed a little bit. Total open forty three and a
half down to forty three. And to what I just said,
Raveno Cardinals, what lost James Connor. They lost their their
receiver his his name is I'm forgetting his name right now,
(02:15):
but I think it's their second wide receiver, and they
lost their guard, so a little bit of you know,
they're banged up on the Arizona side. For Seattle, they
at least have the health going for them. Do you
believe in everything that we've seen so far from the Seahawks?
Do we think that they haven't played anybody we can't trust?
You know what we've seen further competition level. This is
(02:38):
an important game, you know in the division and the
Cardinals already having a loss to San fran I mean,
both teams do. It's a really important game. I think
it's an edge on a short week to the home
team and that's who I would try to get to
the window with. What do you think about this one
so far? Ravino?
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Well, Evaluating Seattle after that first game against San France, Ski,
I was not. I feel like they lost that game
way more than San Francisco won it. But Seattle had
every advantage in the world, as really did Arizona last week,
although Arizona had to go on the road against the
(03:15):
forty nine ers. But the advantage I speak about is
just the decimation of forty nine er offensive weapons. Both
of these teams played the forty nine ers with basically
nothing other than Christian McCaffery. In the Seattle game, which
was the first of the year George Kittle went out
in the first half, they did have Brock Purdy. Still,
(03:36):
Arizona didn't even have to face Brock party and they lost.
So neither team did well against that team. But since then,
Seattle's been very good defensively. I have to give them that,
very good defensively. And to your point about injuries, Arizona
is really really banged up. And a lot of times,
you know, when injuries are spread out ski across position groups,
(03:56):
it's kind of okay. But when you have so many
offensive line that are banged up, I mean, it's cluster
injuries on the offensive line for Arizona. The James Connor
injury you talked about, as well as A Jones, the
other receiver you were referring to. It's to me it's
tough for them offensively. Here tonight Seattle catches another break
(04:17):
facing a team that's down where offensive weaponry is concerned.
And as we say all the time, and you did
hit on this, these divisional games are the most important
of all both teams zero and one. I just think
Seattle's in better position right now. Zach Sharbone back in
the backfield for them. It seems like Sam Darnold's been
pretty comfortable, and like I say, their defense has been
(04:40):
absolutely lights out for the most part, Seattle's has, so
I would look that way, but I didn't bet this game.
These short work week games, I can never really figure.
I know we have that trend on under. We're total
is concerned, and maybe that's a better way to look
at just under forty three and a half, since these
(05:00):
Thursday night games tend to go that way. I stayed off.
I would probably look at Seattle here minus the one
and a half.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
Yeah, as far as the total is concerned, I can
understand that. I mean just betting on both of these
defenses here tonight. I think I need a little bit
more time and I will tweet out whatever I play
on this game, but Arizona or under will be my
recommendations as of right now. You know, I'm gonna move
it on over to a little bit of college football,
and that is Army in East Carolina. Opened up minus
(05:31):
four for East Carolina. I'm seeing fours, mostly fours. There
is a three and a half, there is a four
and a half, So always got a line shot to
make sure you get the best of the number. Total
open fifty two and a half and haven't seen a
whole lot of movement there. I don't really watch either
of these teams, honestly, Rob, you know so, I'm gonna
(05:52):
defer to you. Is there any way you're looking at
Army in East Carolina?
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Yeah, I'm gonna zero in on the team total. Here'
ski from the East Carolina side. It's twenty seven and
a half. There's a little bit of price to pay
with it. Minus one twenty five, minus one thirty. Shop
whatever you can find. I think what you'll find at
twenty seven and a half mostly is minus one thirty.
You can go to twenty eight and a half, and
(06:19):
then of course you're taking plus price, but twenty eight
such a key number you really don't want to do that.
I played over twenty seven and a half minus one thirty.
Couple of reasons here. If I just look at the
positives for the East Carolina offense, it's definitely a significant
step down in class here. They played BYU last week
and they gained over four hundred yards against BYU. That
(06:40):
final score is so misleading thirty four to thirteen. I
think East Carolina even outgained BYU, or was outgained by
maybe something small like fourteen yards. They had four hundred
and four, but they left a bunch of points on
the table. And only reason I know is because the
final score landed on forty seven and I had forty
nine and a half in a game which I really
(07:02):
feel like I should have won, falling only three points short.
As I mentioned, they had two turnovers ECU did on
the BYU six and on the BYU fifteen. Either of
those turns into a field goal and we cashed that
over full game over ticket. Last week. Army has been
terrible defensively. Last week they were really terrible against the
(07:25):
balance North Texas offense, gave up four hundred and seventy
eight yards, lost the game. East Carolina has got so
much speed, ski and I've been on them their games
a couple of times. Here's three times, as a matter
of fact, in four games, I played the East Carolina
game three times. I was successful playing team total over
(07:46):
a couple of weeks back against Coastal Carolina when they
scored thirty eight. And it seems to me like East
Carolina is developing a profile of kind of a bully team.
When they have somebody that they can handle, they do so,
and I feel like they can handle Army's defense here. Now,
the counter side for the entire game is that, you know,
(08:06):
can you stop the option offense with only a three
day work week. It's hard enough to prepare for the
option when you have a full week, never mind a
short week. So Army may get theirs two. The reason
why I'm not in on full game here is because
Armies got injuries at the quarterback position. Both of their
guys got hurt last week, so we'll see who does
take the field tonight for Army. I think. Let me
(08:28):
just say real quick that this line had spiked all
the way to five and a half East Carolina when
it seemed like maybe both qbs would be out. It's
come down now, as you mentioned a four three and
a half, because somebody's good enough to play QB here,
how well they execute, I'm not sure. I would rather
take what I perceived to be the known factor, which
(08:52):
is the East Carolina offense against the Army defense. So
that's why I am where I am. East Carolina team
total over twenty seven and a half.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
All right, good stuff, you know, I'll just rock with
you on that one, and this will be one of
the shorter shows that we've had. It's only been nine minutes.
We got through both a NFL and college football game.
Don't have any basketball to talk about, so we'll go
ahead and wrap it up. And I don't have anything
to put up on the screen head today, Raveno, but
(09:21):
I'll ask you if there's anything you would like to
promote and if you have a best bet for the show,
we love to hear it. If you don't, it's all good.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Real quick, I'll say. For those of you who play
football all weekend long, the Wager Talk Weekend Warrior Package
is back again this week. Basically, what it is, guys,
is you can get Saturday, Sunday, Monday every single football
release from either Ski or myself. You get everything, including
the five percenters from Saturday through Monday, for the reduced
(09:49):
price of forty nine dollars. I believe regularly it's one
hundred and eight, so they bring it all the way
down to forty nine catch all three days. It's been
popular the first two weekends, so they're going to run
it for a third. If you are interested in football
this weekend, that's the way to go. Weekend. More of
your package you can pick it up at wagytalk dot
com or Ski always lists our personal websites over on
(10:10):
the scroll underneath best bet, I'll give you what I just.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Gave you.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
I did play East Carolina team total over twenty seven
and a half. I'll leave it as a best bet.
I think they can get to thirty plus here. A
lot of the pushback obviously would be army in the
chew clock scenario, which is kind of an old narrative.
I mean, they scored seventy nine points last week against
North Texas used to using up tempo offense much the same,
just as explosive in my opinion, So team total over
(10:40):
twenty seven and a half East Carolina tonight is the
best bet.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Our good stuff, you know. For myself promo wars, I'll
just say that I do have you a five percent
up for WNBA game tomorrow. Like I said, I'm eight
and to one so far into the WNBA playoffs, so
if you want to get ahead of it, I do
have that available on my page. As far as the
best bet for tonight, I haven't played it yet, so
I don't want to just give you guys anything, but
(11:06):
I'll say it's either going to be Arizona or under
and I'll put it out on Twitter to let you
guys know. So, Fino appreciate you taking the time to
come break these games down with us. Everybody in the
chat we appreciate you as well, and we'll be by
doing it again tomorrow with a little bit more to
talk about. So until then, peace,
