Speaker 1 (00:04):
NHL Best Bets for Wednesday, December tenth. Welcome to Puck
Time on wager Talk TV Andrew Carmine and Don Buster
today to break down a handful of games. Smaller slate today, guys,
but some pretty good games to still get to. Huge
congrats to Carmine for cashing is five percent play last night.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
I'm feeling pretty good as well.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
No five percent, no four percent, but we did go
four and one overall between NHL and college basketball.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
So nice to be on the show in a good mood.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Feeling pretty good, and you know, Caren, one of those
days where I know we shouldn't think like this, but
I almost wish that.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
I almost wish that I gave out.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Something as a higher percent, you know, and we don't
really like to think like that. But that first period
over with Tampa Bay and Montreal, Man, that was one
of those games that I knew Tampa Bay was gonna
come out hot, and they really did. But congrats to you,
karm a huge third period for your five percent play.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
You know, Andrew, this is the funny thing about sports
and sports betting is you're full of energy. You are
so happy for me, and I thank you for that.
I am. I'm miserable. I am miserable this morning. I
was miserable yesterday. And uh, you know, like we'll talk
talk about it from like a transparency point of view.
(01:27):
I mean, I guess youday was customer Appreciation Day wager Talk,
and I love that wager Talk does that and makes
packages like affordable for some people who normally wouldn't buy it.
But you know, I start with Champions League soccer and
I'm watching the game and I'm just sick and tired
of horrible officiating. It doesn't matter what sport you watch,
(01:48):
whether it's NFL, NHL, or soccer. But it's like a
clear penalty for inter Milent against against Liverpool, they don't
call it, and then they call it the other way
in like the ninety third minute when it really didn't
matter at that point because all they needed to do
was win outright, So you know, I'm pissed there. And
(02:09):
then I've got two plays at night, four percent customer
appreciation play on Montreal who never showed up, but Tampa
Bay just just rolled them. And after announcing earlier in
the day that they were going to start the goal
that they called up, they end up going with Johansson
and goal and which pisces me off even more because
(02:30):
I don't get the goalie matchup that I wanted, and
who knows if it even made a difference. But yeah,
Carolina winning in regulation as a five percent play pretty
much stopped it from being what I would call a
disastrous day. At the end of the day, it is
about units won and lost. I know people love the fives,
(02:50):
and a lot of people bought the five. Some people
bought the three day all axis, which I like even
better because it gives you three days of NHL. But man,
it is just it is frustrating to no end. And
then watching some of the other games. The Anaheim Ducks
score with like what z point one seconds left on
the clock to tie Pittsburgh and then win it in
(03:13):
ot the The Edmonton Oiters score with like mere seconds
left on the clock in that one as well too,
the force overtime, and then the Sabers win that one. Andrew,
it is there are so many games that were decided
(03:34):
and just in just wage you wouldn't expect them to
be if you were on any of those games on
the wrong end of those those are are are pretty bad.
And Andrew I had a ticket because you know, we
love to talk about these tickets, all right, So I
have a ticket and I stayed up, you know, in
our conversation with you, you, myself and Pres and he
(03:55):
was so pissed about the Edmonton game. I'm like, I'm
staying up to watch the third period because I got
a feeling the Oilers are coming back and they score
three to fours overtime. I have a ticket on just
the orders to win, to close out, like a little parlay,
and they offer me like a really nice cash out.
I'm like, no, the others are gonna win it in
OT and they don't. The Savers score win an OT
(04:19):
and that's just pretty much mushed the whole night. I
feel like it's captive A today. It's just it's just
I feel like it's everyone in our live chat should
be just talking in capital letters, like that guy who
got mad at me last week in the chat where
he put everything in capital letters.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Andrew, I get it, man, I get it, carm you know,
and you know what I just want to say, and
I'm not I'm not just saying this because you know what,
like first and foremost, like Carl and I do talk
throughout the night sometimes, but we don't know what everybody's
plays are, like like me and you don't know what
all of our plays are unless we talk on the phone,
(05:03):
unless we share all of our stuff. And like, I
just want, like, not many handicappers are going to come
on after a five percent play and do what Karm
just did. And I'm not kissing your ass, Karm, I'm
just saying that. It's like the fact is though, and
it's not like we always do it. And the fact
is is that like you see on social media, like
I'm not going to name names, but there's so many
(05:24):
counts that you see on on Twitter or Instagram or TikTok,
you would think they never ever ever lose, ever ever
ever lose a game, you know, some of these some
of these accounts, right, you would think that the and
and the worst part is some people are gonna see that,
They're gonna be like, oh my god, this guy wins
every day.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
You know that we're trying to give you guys the
realistic approach.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
So like Karen, I'm pretty sure I literally went like
one in three or one and four on Monday, and
then on Tuesday I went four and one, like.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
That's just how sometimes, that's just how it goes, right.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
So yeah, yeah, Andrew, you know, we got games to
talk about. We're going to talk about all four games
that are being played today. Buster is gonna do one.
He's gonna break down Detroit and Calgary. I mean, like
it snapped a streak of like quite a few days
in a row where they were all winning days, and
then I have a day like, you know, a day
like yesterday where the people who solely buy fives are
(06:21):
about the forty nine dollars hat trick deal are gonna
be happy. But I'm not. It's just I'm the worst
salesperson and I think the office tells me sometimes because
of that, because I can't come here and dislocate my
shoulder patting myself on the back. I can't do that.
So it is, it is what it is. But capital letters,
(06:44):
I love it, Steve, Capitol letters and yes, Caps Caps
Caps PSI.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Yes, some good games.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
I'll just say some quick thoughts on yesterday. Man oh man,
those Ducks won't go away. Quack quack quack. This Ducks
team is unbelievable, you know, scoring at the buzzer the
way they did, and that Oilers gamecarm.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
I just gotta say, I tweeted this out.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
It is it not just the epitome of the Edmonton
Oilers and a perfect example of the Oilers where you've
got one superstar with like six shots on goal, one
superstar with seven shots on goal, one superstar with an assist,
one with two goals, and they lose four to three.
You know, like they don't have any help anywhere forward, group, defense,
(07:27):
goaltending like it is. It is two players against the
world with them. And I'll tell you, I texted you this,
and I'm happy it wasn't your five percent play, but
I texted you this on Monday and I said, we
need Tampa to beat Toronto. I knew that Tampa was
gonna be in a pissed off mood and unfortunately, whenever
(07:48):
the Habs get a really angry team coming to town,
it doesn't go very well for them. And it's kind
of funny, and we talk about we talked you and
I look, we try and mix it into the actual
picks part of the show. We don't go too long
like we are right now, but we talked about calling
up goalies. I think it was what on Monday show
we talked about this, and it's funny because I talked
(08:09):
about how the Monshaw Canadians don't want to call up
their young goaltender because they want to let him develop
in Laval.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Right, guess what happened. Five minutes after the.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Loss last night, carm they have officially called up Jacob Fowler.
So I guess the management team said enough of this,
we're not getting consistent goaltending.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
We're calling him up. So we'll see what happens with that.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
But you know, the funny thing is, either yeah, and guys,
this is how committed I am to watching the hockey games. Yesterday,
my back and it's been like this for a while.
My back is completely wrecked. So it's snowing here and
what have you? So yesterday and Mike, I call a
place close to me and it's not one of those
(08:54):
weird massage places. Okay, so let's not even go there.
But it's called the Comfort Zone. Very good place. And
do you have any appointments? And the girl or the
lady is like, seven forty five is the only appointment
I have. And in my head, I'm like, the Carolina
game starts at seven thirty and it's my five percent play.
I still made the appointment. I go and Andrew. You
know how they have the beds that you lie out
(09:15):
in the beds, It's got the little circle that you
put your head in and you're looking down. I put
my phone on the game below that little circle, and
as this lady is doing like that sweetest massage and
trying to get all the knots out of my back,
I am staring through the little circle and watching the
Carolina the Carolina Columbus game. That is how committed I
(09:37):
am to watching a game in which I know a
lot of clients have bought. But with that said, uh,
let's talk some hockey, guys. Uh, we've chatted way too
long without talking hockey. New York Rangers Andrew Um minus
one forty one against the Chicago Blackhawks plus one seventeen.
All four teams tonight are favorites, and this is the
(10:01):
first one. Total sits are at six. Where are you
going with this one?
Speaker 1 (10:07):
I'm sorry, Karma, I just got a message from the
customer service, so a little bit delayed that New York
and Chicago, Right, New York and Chicago.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
Okay, yes for this one.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
I talked about this on my show actually last night
that I recorded. I like the over here, And the
funny thing is, Carmen. Is a lot of times when
I look towards teams that have gotten beat so bad
like the Blackhawks have in back to back games, I
like to try and maybe find a reason for why
a team could give us a defensive effort.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
But I really don't see it from the Chicago Blackhawks.
I just don't.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
This is one of those teams where, at the end
of the day, even if they're gonna rely on goaltending
like Spencer Night, and they're gonna try and pack it
in and play more defensive, you know, you lose to
the Ducks the way that you did, you get slapped
around the other game they played. This team has kind
of falling off a cliff when it comes to their
defensive ability. But more importantly, when you look at that
(11:06):
game against the Kings, they weren't just dominated, they were
shut out. They couldn't create offense themselves. They're coming off
pretty much too shutouts. So I do think the urgency
here is going to be on offense as well, although
they don't want to be giving up thirteen goals, you know,
combined in their next two games.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
But I found this here, Karl, I thought this was
kind of interesting.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
We all know about the road home splits for New York,
but this is kind of unbelievable to look at. The
goal differential at home is minus eighteen for the New
York Rangers. On the road, the goal differential for the
New York Rangers is plus nineteen. For whatever reason, I
(11:49):
can't explain to you why this team is allergic to
playing good hockey at Madison Square Garden. You know what
the good news is as well, the Blackhawks play much
better hockey when they play at home themselves. So a
lot of a lot of the times when teams are
off back to back beatdowns, I like to try and
(12:10):
find a way to bet the under Karen, I just
can't do.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
It with the Blackhawks.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
I got to take the over here and honestly slight
slight lean towards the New York Rangers here. But this
is a this is what I like to call a
character game for the Chicago Blackhawks. We got to see
what they're made of after getting their butts kicked back
to back games.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
Yeah, Andrew, I always talk about the regression thing. As
you know, the Chicago Blackhawks. They you know, even last
season they did the same thing. But I don't think
it lasted twenty games into the season. But I think
the first ten to fifteen games, if anyone could even
go back and have a look at it, I think
(12:50):
they played extremely well at the beginning of the season
and they accumulated points, and a lot of them were
as a dog. But you have a team here, and
guys I like taking teams or betting against teams that
it's their first home off a long road trip. You know,
this is a team that a four game road trip
for them. They lose an ot to the to the
(13:10):
Vegas Golden Knights. They somehow beat the LA Kings, and
then and then they just get bombed by the Kings
in the second game six to nothing, and they lose
to the Ducks seven to one. In that one, the
seven to one game was with Arvid Siler blooming and goal.
The first three games of that road trip were with
Spencer Knight. So Spencer Knights still had a bad game
(13:33):
in LA and he's been very good this season. But
you have a Rangers team that I think is trending upwards.
They're playing well, they're picking up points, and even when
they lose games and ot, those are still at the
end of the day, loser points as we call them,
that go a long way to try and get to
get to try and get you into the playoffs. And
(13:54):
they had a bad start to the season, very good
road team. I can just see them going into you,
into Chicago and getting to win there. I don't mind
laying the dollar forty one in this spot, Andrew.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
I don't blame you, Karen. You know it's funny.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
I've had a bad habit of trying to bet on
teams too much when they're trying to get out of
a slump.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
And I know that I get what Brian.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Said yesterday is like, well, it's still every proposition is
a new proposition, Every game is a new game. When
I asked them about streaks, but like, let's go back
to the whole keeping it simple. Thing is that a
streak can only be snapped once. And as of right now,
this Blackhawks team looks like crap. They look awful, you know.
(14:40):
So do you want to take the Chicago Blackhawks and
hope they look different than the last two games, or
do you want to take a New York Rangers team
that has a plus eighteen goal differential on the road,
Like it is just crazy. They are that much better
on the road. So I don't blame you. I do
think we're what about the first period over here. I've
(15:00):
had a good read on these first period overs lately,
you know, and last night it was kind of similar.
We had Tampa Bay that one that I really liked
against Montreal. I mean, they were hungry, they had lost
a bunch of games in a row. They got blown
out twice. I'm seeing minus one thirty. This is about
the same price that we saw at the at well
about eleven am yesterday for that Tampa Bay game. Maybe
(15:22):
first period over one and a half for whatever reason,
carm I know Spencer Knight's a great goalie, and I
know she's just Thurkin's a great goalie. I just can't
see them having to rely on those goalies tonight. I
think the offense is going to be there.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
Yeah, they're gonna need the offense. But the Rangers, I'm
telling you, I think the Rangers have bought into into
the system of their coach. They're playing a lot better,
a lot and that's even with missing Adam Fox. Although
I'm not gonna say he's having the best season. You
didn't have a very good season last year. It has
(15:57):
been a little bit better this year before the injury.
But this is one of those ones where Andrew I
don't want to get too fancy with the game. I
just like the Rangers. I want to take the Rangers.
This is Chicago team that has lost eight of the
last ten games. You know, they beat Anaheim prior to
going on that four game road trip, and then they
(16:18):
lose or sorry, they win a game the first of
two games that they played in LA against the Kings.
They win that one, and they got a fine goaltending
performance from Spencer Night in that one, his second of
two very solid outings, because he was very good in
that game against Vegas that they lost in OT. It's
(16:39):
just one of those ones where it is tough for
me to put stock in eighteen that has lost eight
of the last ten, a team that I don't expect
to make the playoffs. The Rangers. I do expect to
make the playoffs, and I think the Rangers are playing
better right now. I don't want to call this a
by low price, but it is a fair price on
the New York Rangers. So I don't want to look
(16:59):
to try and find another angle for me that might work,
like a first period over or first period money line.
I'm just gonna strickt just stick to the tried, tested
and true method of team a team b over or
under and mentality. Yeah, it's the old the guy mentality,
but it is what works. I think when you venture outside,
(17:20):
you know, I mean, like the people say, stay in
your lane. That is my lane. That is what works,
you know what I mean. So that's where I'm going
to stay. It's been a winning NHL season thus far.
Why look to get creative in a game in which
I just like the one side and that's it.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
Pick the winner, Pick the winner. Sometimes it's as simple
as that. We have a lot of guys in the
chat box right now. Shout out to our guy, Timothy
og Swag, Jeffrey Chuck Pod, Steve Action Jackson, A lot
of you guys in here.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Action Jackson. I like that name.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Yes, some good names in here, some good names in here.
Am a lot of guys, A lot of guys here,
So yeah, a lot of people talking about different future bets.
Minus one fifteen for the Maple Leafs to make the playoffs. Honestly,
you are getting good price on that. But with how
competitive the division is, you know, at the end of
(18:15):
the day that price you're going to get, it's the
best price you're going to get minus one fifteen. If
you don't get that now, you're not going to get
that probably in the future. But then again, I'm still
not buying into the maple leafs because I still think
they're relying on a lot.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
So we'll see. I got a question for though, Go ahead.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
Uh, well, no, I like these og names, so I
was going to use that as a segue to bring
in the original OG. This guy when he played football
in high school, he had the uh the leather helmets,
So let's bring him in. He may have taken one
shot too many. Let's bring him in, the good old
done buster, the original oge man.
Speaker 4 (18:51):
How you doing, I'm good, Carmine Andrew, how you guys doing?
Speaker 2 (18:57):
Not bad? Not bad?
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Besides the beatdown that our habs took last night, you
know that was I tied.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Myself on not turning the games off.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
I'm the kind of guy that I watched until the end,
and sometimes it's not really fun when you watch a
beatdown like that.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
Well, you're better than me, Andrew, because three nothing after
that first period, I'm thinking, Okay, well, I got the
over for a customer appreciation Tuesday there and made a
good bet on it, so I'd like to switch around.
I've got a couple of TVs going here. I used
to have about four. I'm down to two right now.
(19:34):
But we're gonna improve that situation, as we just moved
rolled into town last week. But yeah, I can't watch
my team get just destroyed like that. I knew there's
gonna be goals. I thought, okay, I'll turn it back.
Maybe they're maybe it's three to two. You know, they
always fight back. But yeah, yeah, I was a little
(19:55):
shocked that they didn't didn't show yesterday. But like you
talked earlier, the goaltending, I thought Dubish was going to
be all right, but that's not looking too good either lately.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
So yeah, I mean the fact that they let so
many open chances, and I just hate I told Carmine
on Monday, if Tampa loses tonight, we're going to lose tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
If Tampa wins tonight, we could win tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
We got such a pissed off team, and you know,
somebody asked me, what's one thing that you've learned or
changed about your handicaping going into this season? What you've learned,
And I'll tell you, guys, the biggest thing I've noticed
is that you don't necessarily always have to fade teams
on second half of back to back. That is true,
you know, Caren, We've talked about it as well. Like
(20:40):
these back to back teams. How about the Capitals, they're
like the best team on second half back to back
in the world. They they almost played better when they're tired.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
Yeah, and those those type of games, Andrew, you know,
when you see that, you just stay away from them
because I still think it's a bad, bad situation for
that club, regardless if they're if some teams are better
on them, that's a game.
Speaker 5 (21:01):
Then you just stay away from.
Speaker 4 (21:02):
When you see Washington Capital thing like that, you don't
bet that team.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
So this is this is a this is a month
like no other. I think at the NHL there's going
to be a lot of three games in four nights,
a lot of back to backs, three games in four nights,
a lot of four games and six nights. It is
what I talked about the other day. About looking at
the scheduling before you put it in a bet to
at least give yourself a little extra info on what
a team is going through and whether it is you know,
(21:28):
when they're playing four games and six nights, but you're
also on the road where you're traveling on your off
days or overnight. Towards the end of that trip, those
legs start to feel a little heavier. Buster Detroit Red
Wings Calgary Flames minus one eleven, minus one oh nine
for Calgary. Pretty much a coin flip. Total sits here
(21:50):
at six. How are you going or where are you
going with this one?
Speaker 5 (21:55):
Okay?
Speaker 4 (21:56):
Caroen and I just actually quick mention it depends on
where they play. There's a lot of times these teams
play on the road. They do Tampa, Florida, a lot
of times they'll have to do New Jersey, the Islanders Rangers.
So make sure you're looking into that as well. Just
want to throw that out there, Okay, this Detroit Calgary game,
(22:19):
Yeah it was I saw a pick. And then there's
the total right now is there's six over twenties, a
lot and six and a half hundred thirties. And I
looked about fifteen minutes ago that hasn't really changed much.
But both teams are playing some decent hockey. I'll have
to say that Detroit's won three of their last four,
(22:40):
Calgary has won three straight at home and four of
their last six. I'm going to take a look at
the total first. Let you guys have my opinion of
this total. When they get together, these teams do go under.
They're six and two to the under the last eight.
They have not played this year, so take that for
what it's worth. As I said right now, it'll be
(23:01):
one of those situations again where if you like it under,
there's a lot of six and a half under thirty.
If you want to lay that juice, maybe wait, maybe
wait a bit. I think in this situation, if you're
betting tolls, I would wait on it. It's also a
lot of six over twenties. And I do totally understand.
You have to remember a lot of a lot of us.
We have a lot of outs, a lot of a
(23:23):
lot of new new players, a lot of new guys
that have been around.
Speaker 5 (23:29):
You know that you only have a couple markets that
you use.
Speaker 4 (23:33):
So again, as always, just just go accordingly, Just check
if on the way what you like and I know
this might be repetitive that we've been saying this for
years and years, but it is a good point because
we do get a lot of new viewers coming on
that haven't you know, bet a lot of hockey. So
just sometimes, if you're going to like for this game alone,
(23:54):
if you're going to bet that total, I would wait
around to get to your number. If you like it
under six, and if you like it under, bet that
under six and a half right now. If you like
it over, bet the over, or wait around and see
what you can get on the juice wise, because you
might get six out of pick, you might get six
and a half, you know, at a pick as well,
so you can save yourself some juice.
Speaker 5 (24:16):
Let's see the some stats here.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
Calgary have got over five out of the last nine
and Detroit a seven and two to the over last nine.
Speaker 5 (24:26):
But here's the catch here.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
Calgary have been playing very well at home, and when
they're at home they've gotten under and six of their
last eight. I just when you go, I could I
could go on and on with some stats here, but
I mean Carmine and Andrew have talked enough at the
beginning of the show about kind of I'm not sure,
(24:50):
maybe meaningless stuff or maybe some stuff that they wanted
to put out there about Edmonton and that. But jeez,
at Edmonton Oilers, you guys beat those guys to death.
I'm not sure sure why. Anyways, you could comment on
that later.
Speaker 5 (25:04):
Yeah, so when I see that, I love it.
Speaker 3 (25:09):
I just say.
Speaker 5 (25:10):
I'm just saying.
Speaker 4 (25:12):
I'm just saying, you know, like twelve minutes or something
to begin anyways, Yeah, to me, just tell everybody when
you see the market doesn't even know it's it's eleven
o'clock eastern the market, it's not really sure on a total.
You want no part of that. So it's a complete
pass for me. Now that leaves us with the side.
(25:33):
I actually made a small play on Calgary here, as
I said, both teams are playing really decent hockey. There's
four games to night, tough, tough four games tonight. But
I like Calgary here as they have went five on
one at home their last six and that loss was
in a shootout. Now it's not official yet, but Wolf
(25:55):
I believe will be a net and he's been playing
a lot better late league. He's actually the three game
winning streak. He was a net for all three games,
so I like that. And in the last game, Calgary
end up having seven goals against Carmines and Buffalo Sabers,
and you know what, that gives the momentum, that gives
(26:18):
them confidence. They're playing really well at home. But Detroit
as well has been playing great hockey, so that's why
we make it a small play on Calgary. But this
is their fourth game of that road trip that they have,
and it looks like it might be Gibson in Net tonight.
I'm not sure. I think he well, no, actually, the
(26:39):
last game gives him played he actually when he shut
out Vancouver, but thirty seven shots, Vancouver cann't score. Vancouver
can't score at all. Detroit is still allowing a lot
of goals, so I'm not sure which guys in Net tonight,
but they both have over three goals against average, so
(27:01):
I think that helps Calgary in this one as well.
Like I said, it's going to be a pretty good
game if you ask me. I just like the way
Calgary has been playing at late, and especially at home.
They seem to play a lot better home even when
they're not playing that well.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
Cooley was in the starter circle this morning, so I
think he is going to be the goalie today, not Wolf.
I guess it's not hungry like the Wolf. It's Devin Cooley.
To use a little song lyrics for you there, Buster,
from your time listening to those old tunes. It doesn't
change your mind at all if it's Devin Cooley.
Speaker 5 (27:42):
Correct, No, not at all.
Speaker 4 (27:45):
I just like the way Calvinary has been playing, playing
at home. Yeah, Wolf has been playing well, but Cooley's
not that bad himself. So I mean, I just believe
that because they're at home and they've got that nice
streak at home and Detroit you're playing your fourth game.
Speaker 5 (28:01):
I think they got a six game road trip. The
legs started to get going.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
Yeah, Buster, what do you got to promote over at
wager Talk? Let us know, because it looks like you're
in a holding cell there and one of the guys
Rex for says, don't talk to anyone until your lawyer
gets there first for a consultation. So we got to
promote my friend.
Speaker 5 (28:24):
That's because of you, Carmine.
Speaker 4 (28:26):
You you called those guys and I couldn't get a
hold of my Federal Alley buddies yet, So here's here's
where I am. But they I did have enough pull
to get be able to come on and do a
quick ten minute thing on the hockey game tonight.
Speaker 5 (28:40):
So it's that's part of your thint.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
What do you have to promote going.
Speaker 5 (28:46):
To the site.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
We've got a college basketball NHL double play up only
nineteen dollars to get those two games two and one.
Speaker 5 (28:55):
Last night for our clients. Nice four percent winner on.
Speaker 4 (29:02):
The Customer Service Game, custom Customer Appreciation Game.
Speaker 5 (29:08):
I should say.
Speaker 4 (29:10):
Also, as you guys know, you haven't talked about it yet,
but I'm sure you will. We've got that great deal
for the NHL guys, three day all access pass all
five percent plays.
Speaker 5 (29:23):
Included only forty nine dollars.
Speaker 4 (29:26):
And also they have a great college Bowl package. That
great deal still up all college bowl games five percent
right to the National Championship. You can get that for
one hundred and forty nine dollars. And as always, thanks
for having me on the show, guys, and I'll see
(29:47):
it more.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
All right, Buster, best of luck to you. Luke is
mad at us. He says that we talked about about
Buffalo and praised Edmonton at the end of the Yeah,
the Sabers looked very good the last couple of years.
Making it to the Standy Cup Finals. Oh no, wait,
that was the Edmonton Oilers. And the Sabers look very
(30:12):
good this year. Oh yeah, they're in the bottom of
the Eastern Conference. I don't think you can talk positive
about the Buffalo Sabers at the moment. Andrews. Andrews lost there.
He's looking. You're looking like you're looking at the Aurora
borealis outside your window. Dude. Come on, man, let's get too.
We got to talk of Florida and Utah. With that said,
(30:36):
With that said, Andrew, Florida minus one eighteen, Utah minus
one of three total sits here at six. Where are
you going with this one? I don't know where Andrew
is going with this one. So I guess it is
on me to talk about this one. So I will
talk about it.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
I was literally frozen, and then you went to me.
Speaker 3 (31:01):
How am I supposed to know you're frozen? Dude? I
get it, you live in Canada and you live out
in the East Coast in Narnia. But I have no
idea you're frozen. You just look like a little circle dot.
He's hiding. Yeah, if anyone should be in hiding, and
it should be me. After my customer, you should play. Say.
But with that said, Andrew ad minus Florida minus one eighteen,
(31:26):
Utah minus one O three. Let me tell you Florida
missing bark Off, Florida missing uh Matthew to Chuck and
yet in their last ten games, Andrew, they have generated
thirty seven point two two.
Speaker 4 (31:44):
X G.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
That is not bad. When you're when you're generating almost
four expected goals per game and you're scoring some goals
and you're winning some games as they have, that is
a good thing. Can they maintain that?
Speaker 2 (32:00):
Well?
Speaker 1 (32:01):
Well, well, well you know what the fact is is.
It is Florida playing better. Yes, but I think that
it's not really because of anybody besides just the top
guys that are finally stepping it up. Let's be honest.
This whole time they had the ability to have guys
step up in place of Kachuk and Barkof, they just
(32:21):
weren't really getting it. Maybe maybe from Marshawn, but Ryan
Hart now stepping up by I think Bennett. Bennett is saying, hey,
I heard some people are somehow talking about me not
making the Olympic team. Here, let's not forget about the
kind of big name guy I can be, and he
started to play a little bit better as well. Some
guys down the lineup like Rodriguez are playing a bit better.
(32:43):
So it is kind of interesting to look at.
Speaker 2 (32:46):
You know.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
The only thing I look at though, when I look
at this team is their level of inconsistency, Carm. They
have a good game, have a bad game, have a
good game, have a bad game. And you know, look
at this Mammoth team. They have been a little bit
hard to figure out. And now they just lost Logan
Cooley to the injury reserve. And the biggest thing when
I look at this team has been the inconsistency with
(33:07):
their goal scoring. Like how do you go from putting
seven goals up on the Ducks four goals up on
the Canucks to then getting shut out by the Flames
and then only scoring a couple against the Kings. This
is a team that's lacking offense right now. But I'll
tell you what. We talk a lot about this, and
I mentioned this yesterday on the SHOWCARM. For some reason,
(33:31):
it's not as much the game that you really can
look to for a good defensive performance the first game
back at home. It's the second game back at home,
and you know that first game back at home after
the road trip, depending on how you did, you should
come out motivated. But I think in this spot here
for the Mammoth, this is going to be a spot
(33:52):
here where they're going to come out and play.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
Very, very well defensively.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
I think the over are under one and a half
first period is a good spot and I.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
Under full game Manmouth and Florida.
Speaker 1 (34:02):
I think that at this point they need to play
the best defense they possibly can. You know, Florida is
more than happy to play in a game like this.
I think defense is the name of the game here
in this one. And you know they're they're missing Logan Cooley.
It's gonna be big and as our guy O G.
Hayter sixty nine says, the Gunther has been very inconsistent,
(34:24):
So Am says, I think the obres in playing.
Speaker 3 (34:28):
You know, I think that if you like, I tend
to agree with Am Andrew. You know, I'm gonna be
like the referee after there's a fight where he's in
front of the thing. He's like, because this is you
and I are going mono mono here. This is gonna
be like five minutes fighting number seventy seven and number
thirty three. That's what it's gonna be today. You and
I are mono monol. I'm gonna go first period over
(34:49):
in this one, Andrew, Let's see some goals early in
this one. I didn't mute myself. That's the good thing.
I punched my mic. Are you frozen again?
Speaker 2 (35:00):
I'm not.
Speaker 3 (35:01):
Oh, okay, would you like to come back on the
screen or are you afraid?
Speaker 2 (35:07):
I'm afraid.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
I'm like Rocky and Rocky three, I'm afraid you want
to hear it.
Speaker 2 (35:12):
I'm afraid.
Speaker 1 (35:13):
It's like Rocky on the Beach when he tells Adrian
he's finally scared to fight for the first time in
his life. Yeah, Carl, I'm not. I'm not afraid to
go head to head with you. But I do think
that this line is kind of sketchy. I think it's
kind of weird. Like, I know Utah hasn't been playing
their best, and I know Florida's in the line. I'm
a little bit tempted to take Utah at home because
(35:35):
even though they've been playing so poorly, this number is
only minus one fifteen. I know Florida's without key pieces,
but what has Like I think this number should be
a bit bigger.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
Don't you think like I think, no number should be a.
Speaker 1 (35:50):
Little bit like I shouldnk this should be at least
one twenty for Florida, No, I.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
Think I I, well it is. It's Mie twenty eighteen
team minus won twenty andrew. It's like it's right there,
Come on, No, I know, dude, I'm in a fighting
mood this morning because I'm sour. Okay, lot loud to
be sour.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
I'm aim pick them, pick them one fifteen, one fifteen, one.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
To fifteen, it's what is I I completely agree with
your point of the second big second game back off
a home trip. I faded Utah on their first game
back off the home trip because I thought it was
a horrible spot for them and they really didn't show up.
I think the final score there was something like four
(36:36):
to two, but by the time that third period rolled around, uh,
they just it looked like they were out of steam.
Now they have a day off in between games, they're
at home, there's no travel. You would think, Okay, I'm
not a sports psychologist or a physical therapist, but you
would think that this has to be the better game
(36:58):
for them the second time out. After that road trip,
having a long road trip with travel in between, and
it's not close travel like Buster was mentioning, but there
was quite a bit of travel in there. It's tough,
and it's something similar to what I think, I believe
the Seattle Kraken did, where they they've made their third
(37:20):
and I think final East Coast trip and then come
home and then look flat in their games. So you
have to take those things into consideration. I'm not saying
it's the be all and end all. You look at
one thing and that's what you base your play on,
but you have to look at a lot of the
different factors that go into why you think a bet
(37:40):
could be solid. So we'll see what we get on.
But I like your point of if you do like
Utah and you're looking for a home dog, even though
you're laying a little bit of big, this might be
the spot the take one in Utah. They should be
better in the second game. I just think that Florida's
generating so many expected goals right now that if they
(38:03):
continue to finish those opportunities, Because we saw a lot
of teams the Rangers at the beginning the season Andrew
at home were creating a ton of XG and we're
shut out in like three, four or five games in
a row. It was it was insane. Creating and scoring
are two different things, but you want to see that
a team is at the very least creating those chances.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
Well, you know, Karen, and we both love hearing different opinions, right,
And I know that I don't want to put words
in your mouth, but I know that soccer handicapping and
that people look at XG a lot, right, And I
know that XG has become more popular in hockey handicapping.
And the guy that I had on my Every Game
(38:44):
on the Board podcast last weekend for the Saturday show,
Jonathan Davis, he works for VSIN and NHL Network. Great guest,
but he was pretty old school, Karmen, and he pretty
much couldn't care less about expected goals and he talked
about goals.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
Against and all those different stuff.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
And I said, I get it what you're saying, but
and I always like to use the Monshawk Canadians as
an example, carm because I watched all their games. So
last night, okay, let's be real, both of those teams
have been trapped or both those goalies have not been
good especially Montembeau. Right, the first two goals for Tampa Bay, right,
(39:25):
they were pretty much one on zero breakaways or one
on one breakaways. One guy got the puck because he
came out of the penalty box at the perfect time,
so there was a breakaway. If you look at the
goalies goalies save percentage, it was like, you know, five
hundred or like six hundred, seven hundred. So if anybody
(39:45):
looked at that, they'd be like, oh man, this goalie
is brutal. But those people that don't look at the
XG would never see the fact that, you know, this
guy had a wide open breakaway or this goalie you
know what I mean, So like there's a good chance.
So when you look at that stuff with Florida, I
agree with it, and I think there's different ways that
I've been liking.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
To use the expected stuff lately.
Speaker 1 (40:07):
And one of the biggest ones I've been trying to
use it for is the goaltender's goal saved above expected.
And it's not as much to keep backing a goalie.
It's actually to fade some goalies because some goalies simply
can't sustain what they and the biggest example is a
scar off for San Jose. He couldn't sustain what he
(40:29):
was doing with them giving up the thirty second most
shots on goal in the whole league every game, right, So, like,
how are you using XG mostly these days?
Speaker 3 (40:40):
I just want to see it's not on a game
by game basis. I wanted to make sure that a
team over a small sample size five games, over a
bigger sample size of ten, whether it's home or away,
that like in all situations, that they're that they are
creating chances. And then you sort of look at what
(41:03):
they've scored over those and just to get a better
idea of are they converting? Are they creating the chances?
Are they converting the chances? It is just one of
the metrics. High danger chances come into it as well too,
But you still need the eye test if you're not
watching a game, and like watching the game yesterday, the
(41:24):
Carolina game, the five percent play, you know the you
know Columbus scores first and that probably one of the
very few games where you never want to see your
team go down where I saw my team go down
one nothing and I'm like, they're going to come back
and win this game because they were dominating to that point,
the shots on goal were eight to two. That second
(41:46):
shot on goal for Columbus is the one that win
in on a power play, on a perfect pass in
front of the net, tipped into the net. And I
just thought the minute minute Carolina can score a goal,
they're going to double up and then get another one
and and hopefully you always want the two goal buffer
anytime you have a regulation play, I want a couple
(42:08):
of goal buffer. Because we saw what happened in the
Anaheim game. We saw what happened in the Edmonton game.
You don't have the buffer. You get scored on late
and then the game goes to ot and sometimes it
doesn't turn out well. It didn't turn out well for Pittsburgh,
it still was okay for the Savers at the end
of the day. So we'll see.
Speaker 1 (42:26):
And Wegg says this here, Carmon, this is a good point.
Greeves started off good Timothy talking about yeah. Because this
is the thing is that Greeves as a great imagine
putting Jet Greaves on the Edmonton Oilers right now. I
hope people say we talk about them all the time.
But here's the thing is that Jet Greaves is a
good goalie, but he could only save the Columbus Blue
(42:48):
Jackets for so long, right, Like it has nothing to
do with columb Like you put Jet Greaves on the
New Jersey Devils and they're in business. Put Jack Greeves on,
you know, the Dallas Stars, or put Jack Greeves on
even the Maple Leafs, you know they people will be
talking about him at a lot higher of a level.
(43:10):
But because he faces thirty five forty shots a night,
it's a little bit different. So I guess what I'm
trying to say here, Karen, is that first of all,
smaller team, the Columbus Blue Jackets, but also like Jack Greeves,
he can't sustain to see that much puck every single night.
You just can't sustain that.
Speaker 3 (43:26):
Yeah, the you know, ultimately, like you know we I
am guilty of it a lot of the times. Like
if this goalie was on this team that has such
a great offense, you know, with the Oilers specifically, you know,
they would be a Stanley Cupp champion, they'd be a
Stanley Cup contender. That's not necessarily true. A good goalie
(43:52):
on who gets moved to a good team. It's still
how the team plays in front of them. And there's
many nights where the Edmonton Oilers and their defensive play,
because they're such an offensive team, do not give Stuart
Skinner and and Calvin Bricquard much help on the defensive end.
They make mistakes. Any good goalie is still going to
(44:13):
get scored on when the team in front of you
is making those mistakes. So I'm guilty of that a
lot of the times. I'll say, man, if can you
imagine a goalie like Igor Shasterkin on the Edmonton Oilers, Well,
if they don't score to score goals and they don't
play strong defense in front of you, you're still going
(44:33):
to lose games with Igor Schasterkin in goal. So with
that said, Andrew, let's get to the LA Kings and
Seattle Kraken. Minus one fifty one for the Kings, plus
one twenty four for Seattle five and a half. I
believe it's still the mom's trip, Andrew for the LA Kings.
Give me your thoughts on this one, Carl.
Speaker 1 (44:56):
I'm going to keep it short and simple. Two things
that I liked in this one, and they were both props.
Number one, I'm gonna look at andse Copatar to get
an assist you can get him to get an assist
at a pretty good number at plus one sixty. This
is a Seattle team that gives up the thirtieth most
(45:17):
assists against centerman overall. Head to head, He's done very
well in his career, whether it's points, assists, or goals
against the Seattle Kraken the other one. I'm looking at
a Seattle Kraken player now and trying to expose a
weakness of this LA Kings team. And I'm not saying
there's many weaknesses that this team really has if we're
(45:39):
being honest, but taking a look at Maddy Benier's from
the Seattle Cracking, he's been a guy that I've been
liking quite a bit here. This is a team that
gives up the twenty third most goals against centerman, twenty
six most shots against first centerman. You can get him
anytime goal at plus three sixty, and you can get
him at least two shots on goal over one and
(46:01):
a half shots on goal at even money plus one
hundred at FanDuel. So looking at his last two games
against LA, he has a combined seven shots and his
last handful of games overall, his shot attempt numbers are
extremely high.
Speaker 2 (46:16):
So I'm a huge matchup guy.
Speaker 1 (46:18):
So I'll look towards Matty Veniers and look towards ONSEI
copeitar both those guys to have pretty good games, and
I will mention Karm I think it could be a
pretty good matchup for a save prop. If you look
towards Philip Grubauer, I think you could take the over
on his saves.
Speaker 2 (46:36):
I just think that he's probably gonna take a lot
of shots.
Speaker 1 (46:39):
Tonight you talked about that mother's trip, how the La
Kings are gonna be a little bit better.
Speaker 2 (46:43):
And we'll see if they keep that up.
Speaker 1 (46:45):
But whether it's him or if it's Joey Decord or
whoever it is out there, I potentially will be looking
for a lot of shots on goal for the La
Kings and maybe look at a save prop.
Speaker 3 (46:56):
Yeah, you wonder about these mothers trips and if the
team if a god. I don't want to use the
word mediocre, but a mid table team, let's call it.
I'll use a soccer term. A mid table team plays
better on the road because their moms are there. Why
(47:18):
not bring them for all eighty one or all forty
one road games? Let the moms travel with their kids
for all forty one games and see how they do.
If you don't want to disappoint mom, Hey, let's pay
the airfare and bring them along. Some of these teams
have private jets. They could use it. It always gets
to me. Dave Cochin used to love the a couple
(47:39):
of the angles, the mom's trip, the new coach taking
over team, and he just whether it was baseball, He
just kept betting the team. Was it the Philadelphia Phillies
last year or the year before, where Dave just they
fired their manager and he started to take them and
they just they won like eight or nine games in
(47:59):
a row. God bless him. You had some angles that
I would never think of that you sort of you
get I get it. In European football we call it
the manager's bounce. When a bad team switches up their manager.
For the first game or two, the players play a
little bit better, but then they revert back to that
same crappy team that they were. Because I don't have
(48:21):
a pod played today, and Andrew doesn't have the same game,
Parlay Andrew, I am going to give out a Champions
League play that I hope has a chance to win.
And you guys want to sprinkle a little bit of
money on that. You what are your thoughts? I didn't
give a thought on the Li Kings one. I'm taking
the La Kings tonight in this one, Andrew plus one
(48:42):
fifty one seems a little high. I could even take
them in regulation or take the puck line. Split the
two up and see if they can capitalize. I think
the Kings are going to become a buy on a
team moving forward. They're going to start to win some
games at home. They're going to They're already proven that
they can win games on the road. So I'll split
it up. I'll take the regulation line and the and
(49:06):
the puck line. What are your thoughts on that?
Speaker 2 (49:10):
I don't blame you at all on that one.
Speaker 1 (49:12):
You've had a good, good run with these streaks that
you've been picking off and you called this from an
early on spot here, So if you hit the last time,
why not go for it once again? And carm Those
soccer bets are so fun to watch them cheer on
during the afternoon. And I'm excited because I did not
tell you, but I just booked a trip and I'm
(49:33):
going to Europe in April. I'm going to try and
go see a soccer match, or I'll have to call
it football when I'm over there in the spring, so
I'm going to so I might have to see some
football while I'm there, so looking forward to that.
Speaker 2 (49:50):
We'll see it.
Speaker 3 (49:51):
Just played one of the biggest matches of the season
in Portugal, Sporting. I saw Sporting FC and Benfica, but
Portal leads of the league right now, Sporting right behind him,
Benfica a very close thirder. I think those two are
right there. Let me know where you end up, Andrew,
and I can arrange maybe for some tickets. My nephew
(50:15):
has relatives there, so all right, they're Benfica fans. So
with that said, harmline with the connections I did play.
I did play this game earlier in the week just
because I knew that, and by earlier I meant on
the weekend I had taken. I took man City today.
Now taking a team like man City against a team
(50:38):
like Real Madrid in the Bernabau where Real Madrid their
pedigree is like they're fifteen or sixteen time winners of
this competition. But it's one of those ones where City
are playing extremely well. They've scored eleven goals in the
last three games all Premier League games to move within
a couple of points of Arsenal, who seemed to be
(50:58):
bottling at one more time this season. But it's the
injuries right now. At Real Madrid. Yeah, sure they have
him Bappe, sure they have Vinny Junior, but Militao, one
of their defenders is a he was injured last week.
He has a huge, huge miss for them. And against
a ball possession team like man City, if they can
(51:22):
eventually break you down, they're going to score some goals.
They were one eighty seven, they're down to like one
twenty three right now. As far as the plus money
on them, So I would venture a guess of taking
that as a play. So there's one for you, Andrew.
Speaker 2 (51:38):
There we go. And for the people, arm the.
Speaker 3 (51:41):
Chat hit that like button. If you guys appreciate the
soccer bets.
Speaker 1 (51:46):
Yes, let them know, let them know if you want more.
So Manny says, does anybody bet soccer? I would say
about probably about five thousands more people than bet hockey.
Speaker 2 (51:58):
That's most.
Speaker 3 (51:59):
It is the most bet on and watched sport in
the world.
Speaker 2 (52:06):
It's cricket.
Speaker 3 (52:07):
Yeah, there is more bet There is more bets on
a weekend of the Premier League than his bet on
the Super Bowl. Let me tell you that that's how
popular the Premier League is, not only in the UK
but around the world. So yeah, with that said, Andrew,
we gotta go or else. Andy Lang is gonna push
(52:28):
us off screen because it's eleven fifty six. What do
you got to promote?
Speaker 2 (52:30):
Shit?
Speaker 3 (52:32):
Yeah, I have one play play in the NHL, two
plays in Champions League Soccer today that you can find
him over at wt dot Buzz Backslash CB. Andrew, tell
us what you have up and close it out.
Speaker 2 (52:44):
