(00:27):
Happy twenty twenty six. I hope everyone had a safe
and fun celebration. Ringing in the New Year. One of
the dilemmas I had. I don't know if you've experienced it,
but it's what to wear on an occasion. And for me,
I was like, what do I wear to ring in
the New Year? And it didn't take me long, but
(00:49):
I came to the decision to wear my Yes Watch.
If you guys aren't familiar with Yes Watch, I highly
recommend you look at the website or the social media.
I even did an episode two years ago with the
owner and he was a blast. I mean, he's got
such a unique watch, twenty four hour analogue hand and
(01:11):
a digital watch that is remarkably accurate. It has treated
in some parts of the dial bezel and being digital
as a phenomenal display. Guys, the loom when you press
this thing It is a showstopper, which is another reason
why I wore the watch. It stands out in the crowd,
(01:34):
It's accurate. At one point I was wearing daily, but
it really I think it's a watch that suited for
special occasions. So ringing in twenty twenty six. The any
Digi Yes Watch is cool and I don't know if
I mentioned it before, but there is a Viking symbol
(01:55):
on one of the bezel inserts that you can choose
from that's is to indicate last call, which is hilarious.
Who has a watch that on their bezel has a
marketing for last call? And for some of us, and
(02:16):
there was a time in my life where that hour
last call was important and Yes watch has it, so
please check it out. It's funny. I don't know what
you guys wore. I would love to know what you
guys wore for the New Year's. Maybe if I post
the Yes Watch for the New Year's feel free to
(02:38):
comment on what you wore for the post. I'll comment
what did you wear for twenty twenty six? And feel
free to comment please, I'd love to know. I'm curious actually,
like do you go analog? Do you go digital? Do
you go your favorite do you go to your special
(03:00):
watch that you pull out once or twice a year,
or like many you just where your your go to
you're grabbing go your daily I want to know. But
before I go into the episode a bit, I do
want to say, is there not a lot of any
digitis coming out? I mean, I've always liked analog digital watches.
(03:26):
I remember having one growing up, I have one now,
the Yes Watch. Siko has kept the spotlight on the
any digital with the Schwartzenegger Watch and kept it popular
and not to be like kitch or dated, but the
(03:48):
Schortzenigger is a cool watch and I think still is
a very cool watch and will be a very cool watch.
Cassio they've kept several analog digital up and going TIMEX
same thing. They've kept on going with the analog digital
cycle as I mentioned, But there are micro brands like
the Yes Watch, and if you are a fan of
(04:12):
brew Watch, you'll see Brewwatch has a very cool any
digital and one who knows I might have to purchase
in the future. Who goes to Jonathan at brew Watch
for developing such a cool, cool watch and I think
reinvigorating life into the Anty Digit. He is a little
(04:35):
bit of a trend center in my opinion, and and boy,
I think he's going to start off a trend here
with his anti Digi Cassio's any Digit just did a
collaboration with Stranger Things. I think that might pump a
little life into the any Digit scene, but I don't know.
(05:00):
I guess it all depends on how the series ended.
I will watch the final few episodes in the next
few days. I think Stranger Things wasn't consistent in my opinion.
There was a season where I wanted to quit on
the series, but as committed went through, season five seems
(05:20):
like a hit. I have only watched the first half
and I liked it a lot. We'll see what the
second half has to say. But enough about the Ani Digis.
I want to talk about pink watches. A few years back,
we did talk about colored dials, Kevin and I and
(05:42):
I think it was a conversation on by Rolexes when
they were releasing their new Oyster perpetual with different colors
like the one with the Tiffany blue, and I remember
there was a pink dial. We were actually pleasantly surprised
with the pink dials. Thought they are very cool and
(06:04):
happy to see pink pop up in different colors everywhere
in different brands here and there. But I feel like
twenty twenty five it really came on strong. Maybe it
was a Rolex effect in the rest of the world Colonne,
or maybe people are just cool with the color pink.
Maybe it was something to do with the Tutor pornograph
(06:26):
that was pink. I thought that was another watch that
put pink into the mass audience. Whether they were responsible
or Rolex was responsible, or collectively we all, just as
friends are gravitate towards one color. Who knows. But let's
(06:47):
look at two pink watches. Well, maybe I'll look at three,
three pink watches. Let's start off with the most expensive.
I mean, there might be more expensive than the one
I'm going to talk about, And there's definitely a lot
of expensive ones. There's like a pink Teg Lawyer, There's
(07:09):
a pink Grand Saiko, a pink version of Blomblue Cartier.
But I want to talk about this stunner, the Ottoman
PGA Royal Oak self winding Pink Turmaline fiftieth anniversary, And
this thing is a stunning watch. If you haven't seen it, well,
(07:33):
I'll walk you through it. It has a classic Ottoman
PGA royal oak look. It is a eighteen carrot white
gold case powered by the Caliber five nine zero nine
in house movement running at twenty eight bph sixty hours
(07:57):
power reserve, and it's limited to ten pieces. The lavishness
doesn't stop at eighteen carrot white gold case. It is
covered in eight hundred and sixty one gems in all
various sizes to eloquently fit the case and its design.
(08:19):
And eight hundred and sixty one stones are not just
the case. It's the dial, it's the bezel, it's the crown,
it is the bracelet. And these gems are pink termlines.
With a total weight of twenty four point five carrots.
It is beautiful. I mean, who would wear this? Someone
(08:41):
who can afford it, but also someone who loves pink,
someone who's brand is associated with the color pink. Who
knows maybe a member of Black Pink. Actually, I did
a quick google on on on what pink might say
(09:03):
as a personality statement or what pink might mean to
someone's person I did a quick Google search on what
pink means in terms of why it reflects in your personality,
and the color of pink is often associated with femininity, innocence,
(09:24):
and romance. More importantly, it evokes feelings of calm, warmth,
and kindness. So if you need any of those, anymore
of those in your life, this watch will hopefully bring
that to you. This year, pink has also been associated
with the with tenderness and sweetness. Who knows, maybe you
(09:48):
do need this for twenty twenty six if you've been
bad in twenty twenty five. What Google does say about
pink in modern culture, it's more associated with playfulness, charm,
and nurturing. But anyways, onto my next pink watch that
I think a lobby seen on Instagram that caught me
(10:09):
by surprise. Why I bring it up? I don't know
why I bring it up because the AP watch, there's
only ten made and now this next watch I'm going
to talk about, only ninety nine were made and it's
already sold out. The Sako five Sports Pink Panther SRP
(10:32):
M zero seven. So it is a classic Sacle five
in a sense that it has a crown at the
four o'clock position and has a day and date. Haven't
changed case shape, so you know recognizably right away, you'll
see the case combs on a metal bracelet, but interchangeable
(10:57):
with a nylon bracelet, which is pink, by the way,
pink with pawprints and the words wet paint on it,
you know, having the pink panther walk through paint. You
can see the paw prints. The number indices are white,
our hands white, mint hands white. The second hand is
(11:20):
accented in pink. The bezel is black, but the numbers
on the bezel are bright pink, which matched the pink dial.
On the second half of the dial, which I mean
is the six o'clock to twelve o'clock position, you'll see
the classic imprinted footprints of the pink panther. It's cute.
(11:41):
You got pauws running across right. Remember the other saikos
with penguin patterns and penguin feet and it's the same idea.
The case back is numbered, it's translucent pink. It has
yellow eyes, yellow pink panther eyes. It looks like he's looking.
But the box is phenomenal. The box is shaped like
(12:05):
a blue European house slash with pink pink paint. Wet
paint from the Pink Panther, and you'll see the actual
Pink Panther on the blue box as well as Inspector Crusoe.
I think that box will not be a box you
put in the closet, but you display it is cool.
(12:29):
Is it worth it? It's four hundred and fifty US dollars,
it's already sold out. It was and ninety nine pieces.
I think it is worth it. If you have one,
it will not depreciate, it will stay the same or
appreciate four flippers. Well there you go. Well know, did
you guys watch Pink Panther. I did. I watched the movies,
(12:50):
even the newer movies with Steve Martin. I thought they
were hilarious. The cartoon was cool. Pink Panther had an
amazing car. If you guys remember. Now, let's go on
to our third Pink Watch and it is the mission
to the Pink Moon phase, and that came out in
(13:11):
April in conjunction with the Pink Moon and you could
only have boughten this watch from the Swatch store during April.
So if you like it, maybe wait till this April
and see if they release it again with the next
Pink Moon or I mean, you might have to hop
online because I don't know if they'll do it again.
(13:32):
It is not a limited series, but that was the
only time you could have bought it. I'm seeing they
never said limited. It might be back this April. Who knows.
It is a chronograph with subdal at ten o'clock, two
o'clock and six o'clock. The sub dollar hand at ten
(13:53):
o'clock is pink, and the six o'clock subdillar hand is pink.
And here's the fun one. The two o'clock subdal is
the moon phase and the moon is pink itself. And
while correct me if I'm wrong, the pink is different
than the other pink watch in the original Moon'swatch mission
(14:16):
to Venus. It's it's a darker pink. What I love
about this watch is the loom is like pink as well.
It's not like a yellow, It's not a green. The
case back has a pink moon on it as well,
or a white moon with pink raiders, I guess. And
it has one of my favorite things I've seen written
(14:39):
on a case back. It says dream big, Fly higher,
Explore the universe, Reach for the planets, enjoy the mission.
Pretty appropriate for twenty twenty six, because I think that's
what we all should do for twenty twenty six. It's
fly higher, you know, dream big, Let's go for it.
(15:04):
The box is pretty cool. It comes with the graphic
of a fi At five hundred special Edition Moon Swatch.
You can actually cut that pattern out and assemble it
and you'll have a pink Fiat five hundred Moonswatch. I
can't see a lot of people cutting the box up,
but if you have a fi At five hundred, maybe
(15:25):
you'll value the cutout more than the watch. Now, if
you're in Canada, it's about four hundred and fifty dollars
to six hundred and fifty dollars. It's the least expensive
the three that I talked about. I don't know. I
refuse to say it's cheap because many people are not
(15:46):
familiar with the watch industry. And I say a price
about four fifty to six fifty, their mouth drops because
they expect watches to be much cheaper than that. But
of course everyone out there listening to this podcast knows
that you know, these days, that price is attainable, right,
(16:11):
think of it? What you may four fifty to six
fifty Canadian would you buy it? Would I recommend someone
buying it. I know someone who has this watch, and
it looks cool. With the strap. It's almost two too pink.
And I say that because it's just a strong, vibrant pink,
(16:34):
not like the pink Panther, which is more subtle. But
once they did change the strap, it was a very
attractive watch. I say, if you like pink, go for it.
You can't go wrong. I want to reinforce it is
a mega'swatch, so it is an official Omega and what
(16:58):
a great way to get an Omega brand on your wrist.
If you have the opportunity to find one of these,
buy one of these in the used market, I say,
go for it. That's it for now, talk to everyone
real soon. Happy twenty twenty six. I hope you enjoy it.
I hope it's a prosperous one for all of us.
(17:20):
And remember, dream big, Fly higher, explore the universe, reach
for the planets, enjoy the mission.
