Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast, explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact that we'll have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader Chris Markowski.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
The Pentagon with another failed audit, seventh in a row.
I get audited. Not not only you know, the I
R S can audit each and every one of us.
But again, my regulator is the Security and Exchange Commission,

(00:36):
and they come in and they can audit my firms.
At any point in time. If I fail an audit,
I'm not going to be in business. I'm going to
be shut down. I'll be paying massive, massive fines UH
to the Securities and Exchange Commission. But if I don't

(01:00):
rectify and I don't correct it, I am going to
go out of business. They're going to shut us down.
How a government agency is not able to account for
my money, your money. They and again they come out

(01:22):
and say, oh, we've gotten better, we've gotten better, We've
turned the corner. You turned the corner in today's day
and age, today's day and age, you can't account for
where the money goes. I was blown away and I
highly recommend go online. You're gonna have to search for it. It
was actually John Stewart was on c SPAN interviewing some

(01:45):
lady from inside the Department of Defense, questioning her on this,
and she's laughing about it, laughing at him, like it's
no big deal that they can't account for inventory and stuff. Walmart,
Target will tell you exactly what their inventory is at
any point in time. They know it, losses and everything.

(02:05):
And you mean to tell me the Pentagon can't do
it now, No, this is just theft. This is just crooked,
nonsensical theft. It is a massive failure in every way

(02:26):
shape mataform. And then then you're told, you're told by
the mainstream meet Oh, well, you know we need these morties,
four star generals that are out there, four star generals
to make sure they can roll.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
We can't have a pete Hegsett run the Pentagon. I
mean people would four star general. I mean they're screwing up,
They're not doing their job. They obviously can't handle it. Again,
this is our money that is getting flushed down the
toilet again. This is where we really need Elon and

(03:01):
Vivek to step in and just to start cutting the
hell out of all of these organizations. And again it's
it's it's not just the Pentagon. I'm sorry, I'm cutting
We need more defense spending. No, you don't get another
freaking dime until you can account for the money that
we've sent you.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Oh, we're all gonna die, China's gonna invade. What a
load of bullshit. They keep feeding you that bullshit again
and again again, some scare tactic.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
I got somebody writing in the journal, somebody right in here,
some hawked there.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Oh they need more money, need more ships. Tell you what,
you want more of this? You want more of that?
I tell you what, Why don't you be a better
steward of the taxpayer money anyway? I mean, I'm going
through here some of the things that could be cut.
Federal Trade Commission, the FCC, the SEC could be cut

(04:02):
down to size. I make fun of the SEC all
the time in my order, and I'm probably to get
in trouble for making fun of them. But again, if
you're not, you didn't catch made off, You don't catch
any scams that actually occur before they happen, before people
lose money, and you're focusing on, you know, making sure

(04:24):
companies have got proper DEI or carbon nonsense. It's just
stupid crap ah Department of Agriculture. They don't grow anything,
do they. They just throw out subsidies for corn ethanol.
I go on down the list. You know what I
really want to get rid of too, is the post office.

(04:46):
Post Office sucks in so many shit way shape metaphorm.
You could you could outsource that to Amazon now and
they would do a better job. They're here, there and everywhere.
We need to cut kids, we need to cut And
I'm sorry. I sometimes I get flack because I come
down real hard on government workers. Well, let's just be

(05:12):
honest here. Most most jobs in government do they any good?
They really do any good? More often than not, they
just cause harms. They again, it's it's more of an
attack on freedom and liberty than it is anything else.

(05:32):
Quite frankly, I think we could cut the federal workforce
by ninety percent plus percent plus. Ask anybody who has
actually been in the federal workforce and actually has been
disgusted by it and all the waste and all of
the nonsense that takes place and has left and why

(05:53):
they've left, and they'll tell you, Yeah, it's about ten percent.
Ten percent of the people do about nine of the work,
if not more. Again, these government workers, they don't even
understand how well they are paid, with the type of
benefits that they have, the type of retirement they have,

(06:13):
the vacation time, the days off. Oh civil servants, no, no, no,
you're bloat. Okay, okay, you're bloat. You're clogging the system,
you are cholesterol in the system. You're fired. You're fired.
You're fired, you fired, fired. Go out and get yourself
a real job. That's the way I feel. Watchdog on

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
