In this segment, the classic Chinatown line becomes the perfect lens for the latest saga in the Epstein files. With Speaker Mike Johnson furious over the Senate’s version of the bill, Trump signaling possible objections, and Pam Bondi’s “black Sharpie” powers still buried in the fine print, the whole process reeks of familiar Washington fog. From concerns about victim privacy to fears of releasing non-credible accusations, to the potential exposure of investigative methods, the bill’s flaws raise more questions than answers. After months of political theater, influencer photo-ops, and promises of transparency, confidence is low and cynicism is earned. Forget it, America—it’s Chinatown.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact it will have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader Chris Markowski forget.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
It, Jacob's Chinatown. Yeah, Epstein and Chinatown. I know, I'm
maybe I'm being lazy. I've used this reference before, but
I think it's it goes along. I'm not expecting much.
I don't even know what's going to I still don't
even know if these things are going to be released.
If you saw House Speaker Mike Johnson yesterday, he was

(00:42):
none too happy. They deeply, deeply disappointed that the Senate
approved the Epstein bill without making changes. And he said
he spoke to Trump and they both have concerns and
Trump might be I don't know how he can politically,

(01:05):
but Trump might be to I don't know. There is
some stuff, some language in there which allows Pam Bondye
the ability to go through and with their black sharpie,
you can't read any of this that's in there. That's

(01:26):
in there. These are the things that Mike Johnson had
concerns with. Victim privacy, does not adequately protect victims Number
two innocent persons, risks disclosure of non credible allegations creating
new victims. Fails to adequately protect against the release of

(01:49):
child sexual abuse materials future investigations. Provides no protections for
whistleblowers or undercover law enforcement what oh declassification requires release
of information that could reveal confidential methods and sources. Right right,

(02:10):
I again, I don't know what's you know, what's going
to happen next. I don't know how the President is
going to react to this. I'm sure, I'm sure he's
checking his polls. Not it would have signed it right away,
right they're holding off on this again? Is Pam again?

(02:31):
I don't like being cynical like this. I don't, but
I mean, they just keep BS in US and BS
in US. And remember earlier this year they bring all
of the MAGA influencers down to the White House. So
they're holding up this big docums like a bunch of ools.
Do I have any confidence that there's going to be

(02:54):
much that much more has put out? I really don't.
I could be wrong. I could be wrong, could be
a first time. I gotta be wrong. It could be
a first time. But uh yeah, forget it America. It's
Chinatown watch dog on Wall Street dot Com.
