Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact it we'll have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader Chris Markowski.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Unfortunately, Donald Trump is making the swamp great again. Yeah,
the DC swamp that I rail against all the time,
the lobbyists, the system, the kickbacks, the payoffs. He's making
it great again. He's making it big again. I warned
(00:36):
everybody about this when the tariffs Liberation Day and the
whole hullabaloo after that. We're seeing it now. You're seeing
farmers show up on various different television programs. They're none
too happy, none too happy about the fact that gee
(00:57):
US soybean exports to China total two hundred and eighteen
million bushels through August of this year. It was nine
hundred and eighty five million bushels in twenty twenty four.
Ouch ouch uh Yeah, what are the what are the
soybean What are the tarriffs they put on us China?
(01:18):
It was like twenty mm twenty three, and they're buying
cheaper soybeans from Argentina and Brazil. And the soybean farmers.
Guess what, they're gonna get a bailout. This is the swamp.
This is a swamp. I mean, we're told you know.
This is the funny thing is is that the president
(01:40):
causes this damn problem. It's his fault, it's and he
is taking credit now for fixing the problem that he caused.
Is like the arsonists putting out the fire in this one. Again,
the reporting that this bailout to US farmers could be
(02:01):
as large as ten billion dollars, who knows, could be more?
Could be more? Again, you're taking a look at what's
taking place and exactly exactly what I told you was
going to happen when it came to Washington, d C.
Everybody that has been affected by TIFFs are going out
(02:25):
and retaining lobbyists at this point in time, and they're
going to look for little carve outs and little bailouts.
They're going to say, oh wow, look what the farmers got.
They're going to go out there, they're going to try
to influence. And that's basic what it's happening. It's influenced pellics.
So it's great business if you are in the lobbying
business in Washington, d C. You're thrilled by all of this.
(02:47):
This is nonsensical, quite frankly, again, it's interesting to see.
I highly doubt the Supreme Court will overturn a bit
of a power grab when it came to teriffs, without
a doubt in saying that, Hey, it's an emergency, and
(03:08):
I can just add a tax to the American people
when it's supposed to go through Congress. But I think
that they'll probably defer. But as well can the President
of the United States. You will latterly just start issuing checks,
just start issuing checks to farmers or businesses without going
through Congress. He's going to try. He's going to try again.
(03:31):
Thank Donald for making the swamp great again. Watchdog on
Wall Street dot Com.
