A young woman is murdered on a Charlotte tram while passengers watch and do nothing. In this raw episode, Chris digs into what that silence says about us—from the bystander effect and broken policing to policies that empty jails and empty souls. In this episode of Watchdog on Wall Street:
  • The Charlotte video and the bystander effect—why people freeze, and how to break it
  • Policy rot vs. moral rot: it isn’t either/or
  • Why communities need faith, family, and standards—not more slogans
  • Practical fixes: consequences for violent offenders, protecting the public, rebuilding civic courage
Hard to watch. Harder not to learn from. The question isn’t “who’s to blame?”—it’s “who will stand up?”

Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact that we'll have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst and trader Chris Markowski.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Arena Zerkutska. The devil wins again. We got to start
picking up some wins somewhere. People. We really do very,
very hard to talk about these things. Again. I'm seeing

(00:36):
some of the commentary by some of my peers online
very much. There's a lot a lot of anger out there,
and I get it righteous anger. You watch watch this kid,
this poor kid, this innocent girl minding home business, sitting

(00:56):
on a tram. It's above Grantund Tram in Charlotte, North Carolina.
This guy sits behind her, watching or watching and watch
her and just comes up and stabs and kills her.
The devil wins. But then then the devil kept racking

(01:16):
up the winds because as you watch the entire video,
each and every person on that train watched it happen
and didn't do a thing, didn't do anything that that
poor girl died alone, scared out of her mind. People

(01:40):
on the train, they didn't do anything. You know, it
makes you wonder sometimes, really, the the sheer volume of
sociopaths that live amongst us. How again, I can't even

(02:02):
the concept is so foreign to me that you would
do nothing to help someone that was just stabbed right
next to you for crying out aloud. The perpetrator walked
off the train and you still did nothing. There's no

(02:24):
greater calling than to help your fellow man who is
in need. I don't understand. I don't. I can't get
my arms around this world that we're living in. I can't.
And again, I know there's nothing new under the sun.
I'm well aware of that because I know I'll get email. Well,

(02:48):
it was worse here at this time, and this was worse,
and that's worse, young lady. It's got a great social
media account and she's called the War on Beauty. I
think I've highlighted before, and she kind of highlights and
points out various different things and culture and art, architecture,

(03:11):
various different things, and how things have been degraded. And
again that was, you know, part of one of the
goals of the left and the goals of progressivism communism
was to make art ugly. Again, she's she's a Catholic,
and again I don't like I don't like it when

(03:36):
people people go off in rants, and especially young people,
and they feel defeated. She put this out from the
United States to Europe, it wouldn't be clear that Western civilization,
the greatest that has ever been and ever will be,
is over. We live in the ruins of a once

(03:58):
great society, and what we see around us now are
the final twitches of the already dead body. We don't produce,
we don't create, we don't plan, we don't dream, we
don't excel, we don't act. The blood, sweat and tears.

(04:22):
The greatest warriors, saints, kings, and the most brilliant intellectual
minds were for what for? Same day Amazon delivery starting
to sound like me to take out alone, for chipolte burrito,
to get high, sit in bed, watch Netflix all day,

(04:43):
play video games again. Jesu Ses cites Pink Floyd Song
to be comfortably numb while the world literally burns. The
barbarians are not only within our our walls, but they're
in charge of our courts, our schools, entertainment, politics, just

(05:10):
about everything else, while we distractingly feed off what's left
of the carcass of the West before it's totally sucked dry.
Progressivism is clearly nothing, but so is so called modern
day conservatism. The answer is not to move out of

(05:33):
the cities, to never leave your house, or whatever else.
Why should we hide and scatter again? She sounds defeated here,
and I don't like that, Jurette. The onus rests completely
on you, and if we fail to wake up and act,
we will be entirely culpable of the greatest civilizational loss

(05:54):
of all time. The only way out is a major
unification around one single four in common conviction Jesus Christ. Yes, yes, yes,
Sorry that people might not like it. You might change
shut off the podcast. I've had people call me bible
thump or all sorts of names. I don't you think
I care. She's not wrong. It was through Him that

(06:20):
the West was built to such glory and achievement, and
it is only through Him that we have any chance
at saving it. By the skin of our teeth. I'm
gonna make a quick comment. We're gonna get back into this.
I just got back from Italy and I did my pilgrimage,

(06:42):
and again, every single time I see it, every single
time I say it, just it blows your way. You
look at Michelangelo's Pieta and again he did that in
early twenties and it looks alive, I mean, and you
say to yourself, well, he got to tell to this

(07:06):
this this was not divinely inspired. You go to the
city of Florence and you take a look at the
the duomo there. They built this church. They had no
idea how to No, they didn't have the ability to
put a doma on this thing. Bruno Esqui, you know what,
he gets the bid to do it, and what does

(07:26):
he do. He says, you know, I'm gonna leave it
up to God. He's gonna help me. You know. You
see the writings that they that they had and the
faith that they had. Don't tell me that stuff is
not divinely inspired, because it is. And we need a
lot of that right now, we really do. The devil
keeps winning, and yes, yes do I do. I think

(07:50):
that the devil is running the left. The progressive is
in Yeah, how could it not? He won here? Oh yeah,
this Charlotte put millions of bucks in their coffers by
uh from a left wing NGO that they got money
to empty the jails because they wanted to have racial equity.

(08:13):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, that the judge that let
that guy go. She's never passed the bar. Oh she's
involved in all sorts of left wing politics and all
you get the Black Lives Matters groups out there, uh,
putting up a GoFundMe pages to raise money for this individual.

(08:37):
I'm gonna say it again. I'm gonna say it again.
And this is something you have to do, as disturbing
as it is, as disturbing as it is. And again, people,
I don't want my kids to see that bullshit. You
show them, I'm sorry, what do you mean it's gonna

(09:01):
be messed up? No no, no, no, no no no
no no no no no no no. You show them. Okay,
you show them how bad things really are. And what
you do you come to someone's aid. Frightening again, guy
said so in Italy, take a look at take a

(09:23):
look at some of the frescoes and these churches and
their depiction of hell. Okay, more more groosemany horror movie. Okay,
go take a good hard look at this stuff. And
that was for all to see as a warning. Anyway,

(09:47):
The numbers I got I gotta get into some of
the numbers, because the numbers don't lie. You are what
your record says you are. Black men commit a huge
amount of violent crime in the United States period. The
end every statistic confirms is fact Black people made up

(10:08):
almost a forty seven thousand of the eighty one thousand
murder suspects whose race was known to police in the
past five years. It's according to the FBI, most of
those killers are men. Black men, who make up about
one fourteenth of the American population, commit over half of
the homicides, and some cities the disparities are so stunning

(10:34):
you can't divide belief. Saint Louis has about the same
number of black and white people, about one hundred and
thirty thousand, forty thousand Asians and Latinos. So far this year,
Saint Louis police have identified eighty three murder suspects. None
are Asian or Latino, three are white, the other eighty

(10:55):
are black men and now the other eighty or black
seventy three men seven. When this this racial gap exists,
wish it didn't, but it does. It is the progressive

(11:19):
policies the I want to call I'll call it demonic
policies of LBJ that we still bow down to because
we can't admit when we're wrong. That crushed crushed the
family here in the United States. Oh yeah, and I'll
throw in the feminism movement as well. You don't need uh,

(11:42):
you don't need a man or raise a kid by yourself? Sure? Sure,
How how is that working out? How's that working out?
Don't tell me it doesn't have anything? Do we all
know it? Does? We all know it? Does? We all

(12:04):
know it is a massive problem. Who I think it
was Denzel Washington said. I think he said, you know
there was you know, no father in the home. They're
going to find that father in the streets. That's where
they're going to find the father. This is what we

(12:25):
have done. I'm sorry, Okay, Conservative principles that our age
is I talk about all the time and everything age
old principles that work, the old ways our best. You
can't tell me otherwise for crying out loud, they were better.

(12:53):
It's taking was was with my brother and sister in law.
And I know certain cities are fairly well and it's
showing them the ospidale insane. In Florence's little courtyard there
and this was an orphanage where the nuns would raise

(13:20):
babies that, you know, mother couldn't take care whatever it
may be. They would have a little door below and
they would put the baby into the door. We're we are,
We're supposed to take care of one another. We are
throwing money out a problem, another government another damn government program.

(13:45):
We don't need. Damn government programs. Government programs are the
root of all evil. They're the ones that are the problems.
Look at all these government programs that we've got out there.
What good have they had? What good have they done?
Keep add none? But it's simple you need to look
to There's no fear of God. There's no fear of anything.

(14:09):
For crying out loud. We've made ourselves gods. Whatever I
want at whatever point in time I have to have,
not supposed to be this way. That's what we've turned
it into. Yeah, well, while I'm on this topic, because
it's going to delve into this the reason our society

(14:32):
is failing. This was sent out by the folks at
Hallo my favorite app which of the following is important
to your personal definition of success. The respondents were ages

(14:54):
eighteen to twenty nine, and each respondent was able to
pick three choice. This is out of thirteen options when
they did this. By voters, female voted for Kamala Harris.
Number one having a job or career you find for filling.

(15:17):
Number two, have enough money to do the things you
want to do, number three, having emotional stability. What was
last on the list was fame and fortune. Second to
last for Kamala Harris. Voters that were female, having children,
third to last being married. Male voted for Harris. Number

(15:39):
one was having a job or career you find fulfilling.
Number two, having enough money to do the things you
want to do. Number three, using your talents and resources
to help others. Bottom of that list was fame and influence.
Being able to retire early, being spiritually grounded. Female female

(16:00):
who voted for Trump. Number one achieving financial independence number two,
having a job or career you find fulfilling. Number three,
owning your own home. Six on the list for females
that voted for Trump was having children. Number nine was
being married. It's interesting males that voted for Trump number

(16:24):
one on the list having children. Being married was number four.
Number two was achieving financial independence. Number three was having
a job or career you find fulfilling? What is that?
What I tell you about society, priorities, where we're at

(16:50):
Find it interesting? I do, Yeah, I mentioned earlier. We're
talking about buying stuff, buying stuff that you know on
on loan. You know, Klarna is going public, Klarna is
going public today. I'll throw a business thing in here

(17:11):
because it all ties together. I have to have it.
I have to have it now. I'm most important, all
of this, all of this Doom's society. You know, just
just when I think, you know, before I go away,

(17:32):
before I go away, and it was it was wonderful
to get away. The horrific shooting church Minnesota. I don't
know what is going to wake people up. I really don't.
I don't know when we're going to actually have action this.

(17:56):
This crime should have never occurred. It would it would
have never occurred if it wasn't for progressives. How is it?
How is it that we let all of these people
that continually commit crimes out of jail that are dangerous
to society. I could solve the problem in a day.

(18:23):
You know, this happened. You know, I had to flew
back and I was going to spent a couple of
days in New York, and there was a story in
New York about so how home caught fire in Queens
and as it turns out, there was an old couple
that were in the house. And as it turns out,
that old couple were murdered and the house was set

(18:45):
on fire. They were tied to a chair. Again, the
guy walked right out and got caught on one of
those ring cameras. This Jamel McGriff, thirty year old, violent
criminal history thirty years. He's guy's only forty two years old.

(19:08):
He was out on parole for first degree robbery. Investigators
believe he stabbed the elderly couple and set their bodies
on fire to cover up the murders. He is a
Level three registered sex offender, the highest risk for reoffending GAN.
He's out on parole for first degree robbery after serving
sixteen years. He's also wanted right now for two other

(19:30):
robberies in Manhattan and attempt at a Midtown robbery back
in August of At August thirty first, I am, like
I said, I'm a person that believes in redemption, believes
and forgiveness, but again, people actually have to repent for

(19:50):
what they've done. And you cannot allow you cannot allow
these people to be out and about out in society.
It's wrong, it is I remember years ago I talked
on the programs again before it was Trump's idea. I

(20:10):
suggested that we buy Greenland and turn it into a
penal colony. I was kind of joking around the program.
There was some horrific crime that took place, and I said,
you know, and I think we were talking. It was
about pedophiles and sexual offenct. I said, we need to
bring that back. You need to bring it back here,

(20:34):
you know, here you go, you know, here's your survival gear.
Give him a give him a quick class on survival,
drop him off at some island somewhere Peaco, figure it out,
figure it out. But but at some point in time
they have to be removed. They have to be removed.

(20:58):
And again, and what do we get from left excuses?
I watched a debate going on, well, what are you
gonna do? You're gonna commit people to institutions. Yeah, yeah,
you are. You're going to commit them to institutions. I mean,
you people on the left, you don't want anybody to

(21:20):
protect themselves. You don't want anybody to carry a gun,
be able to protect themselves. That you you want all
of these people that obviously have issues that are either
have issues or they're just evil one or the other.
And you had you had people insistent on certain programs. Ah,

(21:40):
this guy is there, he's obviously crazy. How do you
know to find crazy? What does that actually mean? Again?
Hoping and praying that we can pull it back in

(22:03):
as a society. I try, I try. It's I guess
we all have to. But sorry, people, you know you
can't keep your mouth shut any more. Yeah, you can't
get worried of me. I'm gonna get canceled. They're not
gonna like me at work, or I'm gonna lose friends,

(22:24):
or no one's gonna like me. It's bullshit, grow a set. Sorry, Okay,
man up for crying out loud. Look at what happened
for nothing, for nothing for progressivism, for liberalism, which has

(22:45):
been freaking rotting this country away. Watchdog on Wall Street
