Jimmy Kimmel praised free speech defenders—but left out one thing: admitting he was wrong. In this episode:
  • Why censorship has become a two-way street, with both parties guilty of playing the game
  • How Trump, Biden, and the media all weaponized cancellation when it was convenient
  • Why real conservatives can’t call themselves free speech defenders while cheering on silencing their enemies
Free speech means defending it even when it’s ugly, offensive, or unpopular. That’s the hard truth nobody in power wants to face.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact that we'll have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader Chris Markowski.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Censorship to Way Street. So Jimmy Kimmel was back last night.
I saw some bits and pieces of his monologue, and
I want to talk about a couple of things. First,
Informercy gave credit to people who stuck up for him,
and again he mentioned people that don't agree with him politically,

(00:39):
guys like myself, talked about Ted Cruz, Rand Paul Thomas Massey,
and he applauded them. Jimmy, Jimmy, the difference though, and
I'm glad you shouted out to the people that are
free speech. Absolutely, you didn't call yourself out. You didn't

(01:07):
call yourself out. You could have, and what you should
have done is basically called yourself out to be a
hypocrite and admit that you were wrong. That's all you
needed to do. Again, nothing wrong. There's nothing wrong with
admitting that you are wrong. Remember change my mind. Yeah,

(01:32):
that's one problem we have in our politics and today's
day and age. Uh, and that was big when it was.
I remember George W. Bush and John Kerry and John
Kerry changed his opinion on something. I think it was
maybe the Iraq War, whatever it may be. And they
started bringing flip flops, like actual flip flops to things

(01:55):
and a flip flopper, and that was like the big
thing that they were pushing there. The you know, the
bull exscream politics of the day. The facts change. I
talk about dealing with the terrain, well you better change
with it. And Jimmy, you applauded Roseanne Barr being fired.

(02:17):
You applauded when Tucker Carlson and made comments about it
when he was canceled, when he was fired. What you
should have done is you should have come out and said,
you know what, I was wrong there. I was wrong
and I learned my lesson. But you didn't neither here

(02:38):
nor there. Let's let's be perfectly frank here. Censorship cancelations,
it's now become a two way street. I see many
so called they call themselves conservatives, but they're not conservatives. Okay,

(03:00):
they're not calling on abe. See, Oh, you gotta stop
this one. You gotta shut this one up. You gotta
do this. You gotta do that? Why no, No, you
don't have to do that. And again, this is about
both sides, and it's about power. Let's let's go back

(03:23):
in time. Okay, we'll go back to We'll go you
know what, We'll go value, go back even further. I'm
gonna go back to I mean, bill O'Reilly bill O'Reilly factor.
And he was he wasn't too happy. I wasn't too
happy with the French position, the French position when it

(03:50):
came to Iraq and what George W. Bush wanted to do,
and oh man, it was going off on them. I remember
we renamed this is just let me think about how
stupid is We renamed French fries to freedom fries. Oh
it was on Fox, Yes, in the in the Congressional cafeteria.

(04:13):
They're no longer They're no longer called French fries. They
are now called freedom fries. Do you understand how frick
and stupid that sounds? Oh? Made for great ratings, right, right,
we were wrong, they were right. We were wrong. You

(04:37):
can go to Barack Obama. Barack Obama, remember with the
using the I R s, using the I R s
going after conservative groups. Lois learner Lowess learner at the
I R. S Now I name alluded me for a second. There.
You also had systems in place where you were debate,

(05:01):
making it difficult to enter the bankings of the banking conservatives.
That's it. That's a scary thing, Hey, Donald, I mean
correct me if I'm wrong. I mean you handed over
the ra I'm sorry you did.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
You handed over the reins of government to the scarf queen,
as Rush Limbaugh would call her birks.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
And s fouch. You handed over the freaking country to
those a holes and let them shut down the country,
shut down businesses. You washed your you pulled the punches
pilot on that one. You washed your hands of it.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Oh well, took to the states, took the states to do
what they're gonna want to do. We're gonna shut down businesses,
we're gonna put people in jail, we're gonna do all
these various different things.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
And you washed your hands of it because it was
politically expedient to do so. So yeah, you played a part
in that bullshit too. This came out fricking yesterday. This
happened to me. Google admits censorship under Biden, promises to

(06:18):
end bans of YouTube accounts of thousands of Americans censored
for political speech. Google commits to offer all creators previously
kicked off YouTube due to political speech violations on topics
such as COVID nineteen and elections, and opportunity to return

(06:39):
to the platform. They also admitted to the House Judiciary
Committee the Biden administration pressured Google to censor Americans and
removed content that did not violate YouTube's policies. The Biden
administration censorship pressure was unacceptable and wrong. Public debate should
never come at the expense of relying authority. You must

(07:00):
respect my authorita, says Cartman on South Park. The company
will never use third party fact checkers again this maybe
maybe Jimmy should have maybe pulled this into his rant yesterday.

(07:21):
And again, if they're they're admitting this, uh, one would
think one would think that people like myself who canceled
algorithms were canceling this out. And again, I don't even
know how you gonna go back and checking that would
have some sort of recourse against them. But they're probably
admitted to this, and they probably got some sort of
protection in some way, shape, matter or form. I don't

(07:50):
like I don't like. I don't have to watch things
that I don't like. You can always change the channel.
The reason why, the reason why I don't like shows
like Jimmy Kimmel is because it's they're all the same

(08:11):
types of people that go on that program and they
it's they're just validating each other because they have all
the belief system. It's freaking boring. It's so much more
compelling to watch to listen to Joe Rogan talk with

(08:32):
someone that he may disagree with him on things, learn
about things, they have a conversation, or Charlie Kirk watch
him debate people and debate ideas and have a conversation
back and forth. So I don't watch those shows they
got you gonna We're gonna watch Mourning Joe, and it's

(08:53):
the same freaking people. They have the same belief system.
It's borings. Watch friggin Fox. Actually The Five has what's
her name on there, and they kind of gang up
on her, but at least they have someone that can
offer a different point in the same way. Sean Hannity's
program went downhill as soon as he got rid of

(09:15):
the late combs there on the program. And this again,
this was the cherry on top yesterday, and I that's
what I don't understand. The president had all of his
people and all of the people that they have on
the payroll, so government works. Then the Godfather there when

(09:41):
when Michael's trying to push, pushing to kill the police
Captain Salutski there, remember that, and and Sunday he's like,
what are you doing?

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Man?

Speaker 3 (09:51):
You know, you guy misses up your face, you know,
and he talks, you got to go up and hit
him in the back of the head by the boom,
blow his brains all over your ivy league suit. I
remember that whole great great scene of Michael explains that
it's business and also explains.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Hey, we got people on the payroll, and the newspapers
is back then they might like a story like that.
Well they got now on the payroll. You got influencers
on social media and they were all, this is no
Trump had nothing to do. We had nothing to do

(10:27):
with the firing of Jimmy Kimmel, and they went viral
with that. They all had their marching orders. They all
say the same thing. Well the ball I don't why
would Trump do this? I don't know. He puts this out.
He says, I can't believe ABC fake news gave Jimmy
Kimmel his job back. The White House was told by

(10:49):
ABC that his show was canceled. Something happened between then
and now because his audience is gone and his talent
was never there. Why would they want someone who does
so poorly, who's not funny, who puts the network in
jeopardy by playing ninety nine percent positive Democrat garbage. Well again,
just interjective, mister President. He's you know, he's feeding his

(11:16):
base right there. That's that's who watches the show. The
media is not what it was when you were doing
The Apprentice anymore. We've decided to program shows so people
don't have to think very much. They just there to
validate people's beliefs, not to challenge people. You know, as president,

(11:40):
you might want to be aware of that. Anyway, he
is yet another arm of the DNC, and to the
best of my knowledge, that would be a major illegal
campaign contribution. I think we're going to test ABC out
on this. Let's see how we do. Last time I
went after them, they gave me sixteen million dollars. This
one's sounds even more lucrative. A true bunch of losers.

(12:03):
Let Jimmy Kimmel rot and his bad ratings. That again,
you're you're contradicting yourself there, man, So let him rot.
I mean, if his ratings are Bampean watch, ABC loses money, Disney,
I don't care. Why do you care? Why do you care?

(12:23):
People are allowed to say stupid crap. It happens all
the time. Stay out of it. Yeah, this is the
problem we have today is that people are scared of
the government. And I know again, like I said, all

(12:45):
the liberals out there, you know what.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
About what Angelina Jolie said, and this one said, all
these you know people upset about you know, I lost
the country.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
I mean again, who the hell cares what they have
to say? They played pretend for a living. Why do
you give them any credence for crying out loud? You know,
at least Bill Maher, he has guys on his showing.
He will debate Charlie Kirk on a show. Does it
all the time? Okay, either your for free speech or

(13:19):
you're a gift free speech. I will freaking die on
this one. Jimmy Kimmel can say whatever stupid crap he wants.
That's the country we live in for crying out loud.
You just watch people all across the country on social
media out themselves as complete and utter ignoramuses. And it

(13:45):
made me sad, quite frankly, it made me sad. Yeah,
I believe like Charlie Kirk is, you know, as our
job is not to just destroy individuals. It's to put
them on the right path, to redirect them. Difficult, very

(14:12):
difficult thing to do. Again, I'm bringing my daughter, my
daughter up and Yesterda I had her in the other
podcast talking about the Bodyguard of Lives, the document. I'm
gonna bring up an you know again watching the memorial
on Sunday, and again Jimmy Kimmel pointed out whatever kirked

(14:41):
forgiving the person that shot and killed her husband. And
you know, my daughter's tough time with that one. And
I have to face what do you think your faith
is easy? But what do you think this this this

(15:01):
whole you know, Christianity, Catholicism, Orthodoxy, you think that this
is easy. It's not. It's very very hard. As reminded

(15:21):
of something that again she hadn't said to me. Charlie
Kirk was on some podcast where he was actually having
a conversation with porn stars with porn stars, and you know,
and again he wasn't mean, he wasn't nasty. He was

(15:43):
explaining that, you know, he disagrees with what they do
and it's his job is to get them to see,
you know, in essence, to see the light, to put
them on the right path. And they were, they were amazed.
I didn't, you know, go yelling and screaming at them,
and you know, all of these various different things and

(16:04):
how he treated them. And he said, that's not me.
He says, yeah, it sa it's hard, he says, he says,
that's that's the Holy Spirit working through me. And I
found that. Yeah, I put a puss smile on my
face when when I heard that. Stop trying to cancel people,

(16:26):
cancel with freaking what an easy thing to do? Cancel someone?
Just do the hard thing. Okay. And again, listen, you
got to learn to walk away. To learn to walk away,
you got to learn to take the barbs. Okay, man,
oh man, I should do a podcast once a month.

(16:48):
Some of them nasty emails and messages I get, do
you take care? I don't you do the best you can?
You walk away? If someone doesn't want to hear it
that they don't want to have a conversation. I've talked
that before. I call it never arguing with idiots. But again,

(17:10):
you have to you have to, uh bring an attitude
that's not you know, I'm here to destroy you. Okay,
you can't do things that way, and most certainly we
can't get into this. You know what, I'm gonna use
the law, or I'm gonna use some government agency, or

(17:32):
I'm gonna cancer you. I'm gonna shut down you. But
whatever it may be, Okay, it doesn't help when we
do that again, the folks in the big club, the
Beltway folks, Okay, they win. Divide and conquer, my friends,

(17:53):
it's worked for a very long time. Watchdog on Wall
