In this episode of Watchdog on Wall Street, Chris unpacks:
  • Laura Loomer’s outrageous attack on a war hero who saved lives in Afghanistan—because he once spoke at the DNC
  • Alan Dershowitz getting banned from buying pierogies on Martha’s Vineyard (yes, really)
  • How both the left and the right weaponize public outrage to keep Americans divided
  • Why constant political hate is exactly what the DC machine wants
It’s time to step back, ditch the daily outrage, and start focusing on stories that actually inspire us. The country needs more heroes—and fewer “Two Minute Hates.”

Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact it we'll have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader, Chris Markowski.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Lumer, Gershowitz, and Two Minute Hate. If you never read
Orwell's nineteen eighty four, well you're gonna learn a little
bit about it. And if you have read it, you're
familiar with Two Minute Hate from the book. I want
to start off with Laura Lumer. Laura Lumer is they
call her a right wing activist. I don't know why

(00:41):
they're calling her right wing. She's I don't know wings anymore.
Here's one of the things I've tried to explain to people.
They call it right left. It's a circle, okay, and
the left and the right, the far fire right. Like
I said, you can't it's a circle. They are equally

(01:03):
as crazy. They're out of their minds now. Laura Lumer slammed,
took to social media and went off and slammed the
US Army for honoring a war hero because he wasn't
US born. And he spoke at the twenty sixteen Democratic

(01:28):
National convention, she posted a post criticizing Army Secretary Dan
Driscoll for recognizing the sacrifice Florent Groberg now Frent Roberg
tackled a suicide bomber in Afghanistan and saved the lives

(01:49):
of his fellow soldiers. The Army put out a post
on Friday thirteen, your thirteen year anniversary of Groberg's selfless act.
He obviously had catastrophic injuries. He dove on a bomb,

(02:10):
and he got the Medal of Honor for for crying
out loud. That's what happened in the movie Captain America.
For crying out loud. That's what they decided to give
him the little Captain America injection. He dove on a
grenade to save his fellow soldiers. Anyway, she writes, there

(02:32):
are probably so many people who the Army could honor,
who have received the Medal of Honor. But who did
the Army choose to honor instead of their social media
page under the Trump administration, they chose Groberg. She is
an immigrant, Oh God forbid? Oh not that who voted
for Hillary Clinton and spoke at the DNC as Obama's guest. Yeah,

(02:53):
he spent years by the way working to renounce his
French citizenship, and he is now a u US citizen.
What's wrong with that? Anyway? She writes, Are we supposed
to believe the Army couldn't find a Republican and US
born soldiers? So what you're saying is that we should

(03:16):
only be honoring registered Republican soldiers. I guess this is magaworld. Okay,
she's like the She's the queen of Magaworld. Anyway, she continued,
Under the Army secretary, there have been several instances of
either him or the Army promoting anti Trump leftists on

(03:39):
their official media channels. Army official spoke to The Washington
Post and said her attack was despicable. Again, that suicide
bomber killed four people, and it would have been worse.

(04:02):
Many more would have died. He has lost fifty percent
of his lower calf, he's deaf in his left ear,
and he has got significant traumatic brain injury. Where where

(04:25):
do I go from here? These are the types of
things it's too minute hate. These are the types of
things that just they break my heart. They bring this,
This lumur has a platform, she's friends with the president.
This this guy was willing to sacrifice his life to

(04:47):
save others, and she didn't like them. And he's a Republican,
he's a registered Republican. Maybe he didn't like Trump in
twenty sixteen. Again, I voted for him. It wasn't my
first choice. I gotta leave it at that because I'm
just gonna I'm trying not to yell here. And then
you get Dershowitz again, the other side, left wing. So

(05:10):
Alan Dershowitz, okay, lawyer, regular Fox News pundit. I'm not
a big fan of the guy at all, but again,
he's a lawyer. He began they represent some ugly people.
He represented Epstein for crying out loud anyway, he he

(05:32):
was banned from buying Perogi's, banned from buying Perogi's at
a farmer's market on Martha's Vineyards. Guy recognize him, and
now it's it's making big news everywhere, and he's threatening
to sue because the the Parogi person doesn't like him.

(05:53):
And now all the left wingers are rallying around the
Parogi salesperson because what more two minutes of hate. Both
sides do it, but both both sides to it, both
sides engage in it, and until we the people here
in this country, We the people here in this country,

(06:15):
decide that or figure out figure out that. Both the
left and the right, the people in Washington, d C.
These political parties, their their goal, their goal is to
get us hating one another. You see, in nineteen eighty four,
it was two minutes of hate against a common enemy. Okay,

(06:38):
the citizens of Oceania had a common enemy and they
were going against what was it the name there God?
Oh and Manuel Goldstein or something like that, and his
crowded a two minutes of hate against that. Every single day,
you see, they win in Washington, d C. We lose

(06:59):
when they basically say, hey, two minutes of hate of
the opposite side. That's it is what it is again,
I'm I'm bouncing an idea around in my head and uh,
I'm gonna I'm gonna start It'm gonna start working on
it right now. There's there's so much negativity, so much
of this nonsense out there that it's it's heartbreaking, it

(07:20):
really is. And we hear these stories all the time.
And I got to cover a lot of a lot
of dirty politics, a lot of nasty stuff here on
the program. What I'm gonna start doing. I'm going to
launch a new part of the Watchdog on Wall Street site.
It's going to be a new section. I haven't decided
what I'm gonna name it yet, but we are going
to be doing a whole entire section on nothing but

(07:43):
heroic stories, positive stories, and and people doing wonderful things
here in this country because it happens all the time,
and we have to focus on that to get away
from this because it affects you. It's you read this
time type of nastiness, and well, at least it bothers

(08:04):
me a great deal. So we're gonna be We're gonna
be working on that in the coming weeks and looking
to put something together, and I will be doing several
podcasts over the course of We've feveral segments here on
the show where we're going to be focused in talking
about positive stories. It's one of the things I've been
doing with Work Time and Effort, along with my book

(08:26):
and the other radio show that I do Work Time
and Effort. We're highlighting positive stories, people building businesses. But
this is going to be here there and everything. Acts
of heroism, helping out your fellow man. What we should
be doing. Okay, we again. Like Mother Teresa says, we've
forgotten that we all belong to one another watchdog on
