Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact it we'll have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader Chris Markowski.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Mainstream media keeps circling the drain. Yeah, this past weekend,
MSNBC actually use stock photography of another protest in Boston
from several years ago to show how great the No
(00:36):
King's protest was. Yeah, that's right, stock photography a protest
from years ago. And don't say that they did know,
they knew, they got caught. When you keep lying to people,
eventually they're just not going to listen. And it's not
(00:57):
I'm sorry, Okay, it's not just MSNBC, it's not CNN. Okay.
Fox for the most part, is a joke too. They're basically,
and again I lament the fact that this is where
we've got to, where it's like, hey, we got to
have right wing media, we got to have left wing media.
(01:19):
Very rarely do they come out and they question the
current president. Oh, you'll have a couple people on air
that do. But for the most part, come on, come on,
you're embarrassing yourselves. But anyway, let's take a look. This
is just from the web. Okay, you can take I've
already talked about the ratings, the television ratings, which are horrific.
(01:44):
Major news sites, massive drop in traffic. The only the
only you want to call it, mainstream media site that
saw an uptick in traffic year over year CNBC. See,
(02:04):
and that's only up two percent. And again you could
take a look at one of the reasons why is
you had Liberation Day and a lot of volatility, and
I'm sure there's been a lot more traffic due to
that volatility over the course of this year. But it's
only up two percent. New York Times is down seven percent,
(02:26):
and that's they're holding strong at down seven percent, BBC
down thirteen percent, Fox News down twenty five percent. Now, yeah,
go to Fox News's website. Oftentimes it's kind of a
(02:47):
bit of a joke, quite frankly. Again, you also annoy
people at all the stupid pop up ads as well.
CNN down thirty four percent, Forbes down fifty two percent,
go right on down the list. You know, you know
what's what is doing really well, it's up substack. Yeah,
(03:09):
independent journalists Matt Tybee's Glenn greenwalds I post my columns
up at Watchdog on Wall Street dot com, they'd be like,
you gotta get on substack. Maybe I'll do that as well.
Nobody trusts the mainstream meeting more. And for the life
of me, life of me, I don't understand as a business.
(03:30):
Why wouldn't you actually figure that out and say, hey,
you know what, We're gonna actually start being journalists again,
and we're gonna keep the opinions on the opinion page,
and we're gonna stop doing stupid anecdotal stories which don't
make any sense whatsoever, and we're gonna actually ask some
(03:53):
real questions. We're gonna actually do some real journalism. I mean,
you got to think about it, honestly. Okay, you guys
have sucked for so long. You've lied us into war
after war after war, one after another. You lie about
all the COVID I mean, why would anybody pay attention
(04:13):
to you anyway? You're a bit of a parody and
of yourself for crying out loud. Watch Dog on Wall
Street dot Com
