Rand Paul is under fire after criticizing Trump’s drone strike on a Venezuelan boat. Social media mobs—many likely bots—lynched him online while MAGA influencers cheered the president. Chris breaks down:
  • Why glorifying killing without due process is a dangerous slope
  • Rand Paul’s consistency on unchecked military power, from Obama drones to today
  • The hypocrisy of ignoring Big Pharma’s death toll while blowing up “drug boats”
  • Why invading Mexico or drone wars won’t solve America’s fentanyl crisis
The Constitution matters—even when it’s unpopular.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact it we'll have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader Chris Markowski.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Lynching Rand Paul I watched the social media go nuts.
All of a lot of them are bots out there
that are driven by AI, that are basically set up
to go after anyone who questions the current administration. It
is what it is. It works on both sides. Again,

(00:41):
to all of you people out there that were jumping
up and down and applauding the President of the United
States blowing up a supposed drug boat in the Caribbean
off of Venezuela again purportedly, I just gotta ask you
a question. You guys believe in due process at all?

(01:07):
Now again, I have gone off on rants about the
terrible drug problem we have in our country, fentanyl and
the debts that have been involved with this. First and foremost,
and again you got all these various different social media
people blowing up fentanyl boat. It's not fentanyl, Kay's Venezuela.

(01:28):
It's cocaine. Okay, it's not fentanyl. If it was a
drug boat, it was cocaine. I don't care blowing up anyway. Okay,
you do understand that this is a bit of a
slippery slope. Now again, if the President of the United

(01:49):
States wants to use the United States military to go
after drug car tells, I think that's a conversation worth having.
I really do. And I think that needs to be had,
and I think it needs to be had in Congress,
and then we declare a war and this is what
we're going to do. I don't think ordering a drone

(02:14):
strike or whatever that was in the Caribbean on a
boat that may or may not have been carrying drugs
is a very good look for a nation that prides
itself on the rule of law and the United States Constitution,
which we're supposed to follow. So Rand, Paul Boyle boy

(02:39):
the MAGA type really went after him. They really did.
You had the Vice President J. D. Vance come out
and say that the strike on a small Venezuelan boat
was the highest and best use of our military. Responded.

(03:00):
What a despicable and thoughtless sentiment it is to glorify
killing someone without a triumph. Again, Paul has been consistent
throughout the years in regards to unchecked military power. Supposedly

(03:25):
the attack killed eleven. Okay, do we know if it's legal,
do we know if it's morally justified? He said, maybe
the boat was coming here, maybe it wasn't. But nobody's
even asking whether we need to prove that we just
blow them up since I got no love loss for

(03:46):
these people. But at the same time, is this the
new Coastguard policy? Almost none of the boats we've interdicted,
does it end up with us blowing up the boat?
He said, I really think ticked me off and got
me going. It's talking about vance was for someone to
glorify the idea of killing people without a due process

(04:08):
and saying he just didn't give a shit what anybody
who was going to criticize him was going to say.
That to me was disdain for human life and disdain
for the processes. And he said, you know, no one
has responded, no one has said anything in the White House,
but they have, they've they've sick social media after Rampaudy

(04:29):
also made a you know, comment about to kill a mockingbird,
and you know what was fascinating as well as all
of the uh, the MAGA influencers that back Trump with
every anything and everything that he does or says, whatever
it may be. Again, I compare him to cult members,
you know, basically high five to one another claim that
they never read to Kill a Mockingbird. I was like, really,

(04:49):
you guys didn't make it past sixth grade. I got
a says position the sinking suspicion that you were supposed
to read that back in and around sixth grade. If
I'm not taken like you taking pride in your ignorance
anyway again. And so that Paul was very consistent in this,

(05:12):
and that's just basically what you should ask for in politicians.
In twenty thirteen, Rand Paul spoke for nearly thirteen hours
filibustering Obama's use of drones on American citizens overseas, and
I quote, I've been the most foremost critic of their

(05:34):
use against Americans, Americans or civilians. I have not, however,
opposed the concept of using drones in war. That position
remains unaltered today. The recent drone attack on a small
speedboat over two thousand miles away was in no way
part of a declared war and defies our long standing

(05:55):
Coastguard rules and practices along with any concept of due
process again, I welcome. Okay, you want to challenge me
on this, fine, Okay, I know I've gone over the
numbers here, the types of deaths when it comes to fentanyl.

(06:18):
You want you want to know something? You I know,
who's killed more more people than any these little drug
mules from Venezuela. How about the Sackler family there with
oxy cotton for crying out loud? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
had none other than uh I was there? What was there?
Mary Joe I forget her name? And Rudy Giuliani. They

(06:39):
were defending the Sackler family. Oh sure, they paid a fine,
but they're still billionaires. Then they didn't do any jail time.
You're gonna blow up their mansion with the drone. No,
they make two big of political donations for crying out loud. Okay,
so spare me the bs. You want to go after
the cartels, have at it, have that it, good luck.

(07:02):
I don't know how you're gonna do it with I
mean again, you're gonna have to basically invade Mexico. Yeah,
the last election that took place, you had one assassination
happening after another They're entrenched in everything to do. That's
what they are. That's the big business down there. You
got tourism, and then you've got, oh, you know, we
sell drugs to America. I got a better idea. Why

(07:24):
did we just stopped taking the drugs problem solved? Watchdog
