Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact it we'll have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader Chris Markowski.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Well didn't have this one on my bingo card. Reopening Alcatraz.
Here we go, rebuild and open Alcatraz. For too long,
America has been plagued by vicious, violent, and repeat criminal offenders,
the dregs of society who will never contribute anything other
than misery and suffering. When we were a more serious

(00:36):
nation in times past, we did not hesitate to lock
up the most dangerous criminals and keep them far away
from anyone they could harm. Again, hold on to interrupt
the President's tweet. Its president, there's just things called super
max in Colorado anyway. Anyway, that's the way it's supposed

(00:57):
to be. No longer will we tolerate these serial off
who spread filth, bloodshed, and mayhem on our streets. That
is why today I am directing the Bureau of Prisons,
together with the Department of Justice, FBI, and Homeland Security,
to reopen a substantially in large and rebuilt Alcatraz to

(01:18):
house America's most ruthless and violent offenders. I'm reading this
and I can't help but think of Doctor Evil from
Austin Powers. All I ask for is sharks with freaking
laser beams attached to their head. Anyway, we will no
longer be held hostage to criminals, thugs, and judges that

(01:39):
are afraid to do their job and allow us to
remove criminals who came into our country illegally. The reopening
of Alcatraz will serve as a symbol of law, order
and justice. We will make America great again. Alcatraz I
visited with the kids back in twenty twelve. It's a landmark,

(02:04):
it's a museum. The reason why they shut Alcatraz down
is that it's too damn expensive to run it was
what was it? They had here almost three to four
times as much as any other prison in the country.

(02:28):
It opened in nineteen thirty four, It was shut down
after twenty nine years. And again, great movie there, Clint
Eastwood Escape from Alcatraz. Again. The island operations proved far
more costly than mainland based prisons. I don't think we

(02:52):
need to reopen Alcatraz, and I don't think we need
to make it bigger. And again I'm telling you that
it's not gonna happen. Okay, it's not gonna happen. Watchtock
