Chris addresses Europe’s growing energy crisis and the broader economic struggles faced by its industrial powerhouse, Germany. Highlighting skyrocketing energy prices and unreliable power generation, Markowski explains why companies are struggling and what tough love policies could save them. He argues for the U.S. to take advantage of these shortcomings by offering businesses lower taxes, reduced regulations, and stable energy costs. Tough love, he insists, might just be the catalyst for Europe to make the necessary changes. www.watchdogonwallstreet.com

Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact it will have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader Chris Markowski.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Saving Europe with tough love. Yeah, I'm not big on coddling.
I'm not big on coddling kids. I'm not big on
coddling countries, governments, businesses. Again, you know, either you get
it right or you get eliminated. Thomas Jefferson, when again

(00:40):
helping to design the United States of America, understood the
state system would allow for little laboratories, incubators for ideas
within states, see what works and what doesn't work. And
again we've seen what takes place here in the United
States when you're getting it wrong. You end up with California,

(01:01):
you end up with New York, you end up with Illinois,
you end up with all of these states where businesses
decide to up and leave, people decide to up and leave.
I saw this story out of Germany, and we're talking
about the prices for energy and how they're skyrocketing right

(01:22):
now and their natural gas fired electricity has had to
go through the roof because their windmills are not turning,
the wind isn't blowing. Natural gas use for power generation
rose to its highest level since December of twenty twenty two.
Large power gap. Now Germany again, you think of Germany again,

(01:47):
it's the economic powerhouse of Europe, right, industrial powerhouse. What
company in their right mind is going to want to
build a factory and do business when electricity prices are
through the room or no, it's also unreliable, but why
why why would you set up shop there? So here

(02:07):
comes the how to save Europe with tough love. Yeah,
you got to go out. You got to just start
pitching these businesses. Yeah, I don't care how much it
pisss off the Germans. Okay, you either get it right
or you get eliminated. Yeah, I know Gecko said that liquidate.

(02:28):
That's not a bit. I'm sorry. You go to these
companies and you say them saying listen, okay, now it
sucks for you. I know you've got all these issues.
Move your business to the United States. We're going to
have lower taxes, we're going to have lower regulations, you're
going to have lower energy costs. And guess what. Guess what,
you're going to be able to survive. You're failing now.

(02:48):
Your country is failing now, the European Union is failing. Now.
You can't regulate your way out of the hole you're in.
You can't find American companies out of the whole you're in.
So leave, and maybe, just maybe this tough love will
wake up the powers that be and they'll make changes.
