Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast, explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact it we'll have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst and trader Chris Markowski.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Syria and the lies were told. I tried very, very
hard to be as abreast of as many things as
possible here on the show. Again, sometimes sometimes an event
will happen, something will take place, and I've got to

(00:37):
go delve in and I've got to do more homework
on a topic. And obviously we've got a major one
that's taken place right now. Because again, you cannot trust,
cannot trust anything that you're seeing and hearing from the
mainstream media, and yes that includes Fox News, all of
these networks out there. I don't trust for publicans, I

(01:00):
don't trust Democrats anything. When it comes to foreign policy,
I automatically assume that I'm being lied to. Why wouldn't you,
I mean, aren't we all the townsfolk at this point
in time from you know, when a little boy cried wolf.

(01:22):
Aren't we all at that point in time where we're
going to say I can't trust anything that they're saying,
and again, it didn't even take much to spot the BS.
Yayad's gone. That's as wonderful. You do know al Qaeda

(01:45):
has taken over, right, you do understand that the guy
that's running the show has got a ten million dollar
bounty on his head. I wonder how they're going to
remove that. When are we gonna say, they're gonna slowly
take him off the most wanted list and take that

(02:05):
ten million dollar bounty off his head and we're supposed
to applaud that. Fascinating You can go find out right now. Again,
mainstream media won't tell you. Oh, yeah, women, new rules
in Syria, sherif from town, new rules. Yeah, you leave
your house, you better have a chaperone. You better have

(02:26):
a chaperone, and your head better be covered. So let's
not jump to the conclusion that everything is awesome in
Syria anyway. Let's let's go to some of the lies
that we have been told. I actually pulled up a

(02:47):
great piece by Michael brandan dherty expert on this. This
is from a few years ago, basically chronicling our adventures
in Syria, and he talks about the assertions that we
were told we were told by the powers that be
about Syria, from pundits, from politicians, from the policy makers,

(03:13):
from the experts that know more than us. Well, we
were told that you know what, yeap Syria. Yeah, Syria,
this is what happens. This is what happens when the
United States doesn't get involved. Non interventionists up, this is
what happens. And then we were told we were only
in Syria because we were there to fight ISIS. And

(03:37):
we were told that if we weren't involved with Syria,
that would hand a victory to Vladimir Putin. Hmmm, this
was has been the so called conventional wisdom, right, And
they repeat these things again and again and again again.

(03:58):
The CIA began the mission in the Syrian Civil War
before ISIS was even around. Okay, this is before ISIS
was even around. You got to go back to like
twenty twelve tooth let you eleven twenty twelve to that
point in time. Again, this is a full year before

(04:21):
Barack was talking about his red lines. And again, I
want to go back to a point in time. Obama
wanted to invade Syria. Remember that. Oh, I'll jog your memory.
Obama wanted to invade Syria, except you know he wanted

(04:42):
to vote on that. He didn't want to. He didn't
want to get his hands, you know, just his d
hands dirty on that one. And he proposed a congressional
vote and he didn't have He didn't have the politics
didn't go his way on that one. He didn't have
the the votes. Again, Bamba was smart. I mean George W. Bush.

(05:04):
Remember he got the votes for Iraq. Now that you
get the votes for Iraq. He had Democrats running back
to make sure that they signed their name on that
because they thought it was going to be popular. Anyway,
Let's let's go back to what we were told, right,
we're arming We're arming the moderate rebels. Yeah, it was

(05:27):
the same thing we were told. Say they were told
about Olibya. Oh yeah. John McCain was doing the same
thing as well, where they all were they're moderate rebels,
they're moderates. Yes, yeah, These same moderate rebels were fighting

(05:48):
with al Nusra. Al Nusra fighters were using weapons that
were brought in by the CIA to fight a war
that we supposedly weren't intervening in. We also funded a
group again, sound familiar to you, Nora al Din al Zeki. Okay,

(06:10):
oh oh yes, oh yeah, but we had a we
had to quiet that down after a YouTube video came
out where they had their their members beheading a child.
You know they're moderate, of course, right Moderi. Yeah, we're
gonna be head children on YouTube videos anyway, Again again,

(06:32):
you know, Congress, Congress, didn't they put their finger in
the air. Wind wasn't blowing at that point in time,
refused to authorize the emission in Syria. But that's okay,
Never fear military industrial complex, never fear Washington. We got
the two thousand and one authorization two thousand George W. Bush,

(06:57):
the authorization that we can go to get into war
free card, the au MF authorizing the president to make
war on al Kaeda. So they were using okay again,
here is the logic and reason. Okay, we're using the

(07:21):
authorization to fight al Qaeda to in turn fund al
Qaeda and al Qaeda's allies in Syria. Is again, yeah, Kubrick.

(07:42):
Kubrick couldn't have written a movie. Is Doctor Strange Loved
to the Empty Different? It makes no sense whatsoever the
authorization from two thousand and one to fight al Qaeda
here or there, everywhere, no matter where it may be.
Now being used to fund alc Kaida and their buddies.

(08:07):
So again again I've told you, I mentioned this yesterday. Okay,
when you're saying your prayers, you've got to offer up
some for the Christians, Assyrian Christians in that country. We're
getting word from there that things might not go so swimmingly. Again,

(08:32):
go back to twenty nineteen. We were told by all
the Syrian hawks at the fate of Christian Syrians were
better served by the rebels, the moderate rebels, and anybody
who said anything otherwise. Anybody said anything else was like
paulsy Gabbard was a dupe for a sad Yeah, those

(08:57):
rebels that you and I funded, Yeah, they kidnapped and
ransomed Christian bishops and bombed Christian towns, some of them
two thousand year old towns. Right and listen, I said,

(09:20):
you know, you don't have to believe me. You can
do your own homework. The one thing that I kind
of hope happens, it might be a bit of a
saving grace for we don't have this power vacuum. We
don't end up with an Iraq situation. Remember, the morons

(09:41):
in Washington, DC decided that anyone, anybody that was attached
to Saddam Hussein had to be done away with. They
were kicked out of public office, they were kicked out
of the military. So basically everything in Iraq was just
all the infrastructure, everything that kept the country running was

(10:02):
just shut down. How'd that work out? Now? Again, again,
these were they were pathosts. They were soony Muslims within
that country. But they would have done what they were
told Saddam was gone. They would have, you know, worked

(10:23):
to solidify the country. But no, no, no, no, no no.
We here in the United States we know how to.
We're just way too smart for them, and we dismantled
that and kicked them all out, and we had a
mess on our hands. The army and the people that
are holding then have been kind of holding the country together.

(10:43):
They you got to find a way to keep that
somewhat intact. Again, just from experience, just from experience, You're
going to have to figure out some way to get
some sort of order there, or again it will be
another bloodbath. Then this is uh Syria and the lies

(11:10):
we've been told. Watch Dog on Wall Street dot Com
