Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact it we'll have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader Chris Markowski.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Behold the congressional reality show The Real Housewives, a real
congressional members. Yeah, why don't they flip a table? I
guess yesterday Kirsten Gillibrand, she was heard screaming, screaming Congressional
Senate Democrats had a meeting and she was going nuts.
They were freaking out. Made Politico, made all the various
(00:37):
different wires out there. Oh my god, what's going on.
It's a show. Okay, you watch the people again. I
don't understand these Bachelor show, Bachelorett shows, Real Housewives, this
whatever it may be, and want a Real Housewives first
came out. It was kind of it's kind of fascinating
(00:58):
to watch. You go back to your quote end quote.
Reality shows go all the way back to the nineteen
nineties where MTV had his Real World. Well, let me
tell you about the you know, the most consequential reality
show that's out there that that takes place in Congress,
everything that you have been told presented over the past,
(01:20):
let's just say two weeks. When it comes to uh,
the government shutdown and continuing Resolute luc Bill has been
a lie. Okay, none of this is real. This is
a setup, This is a show. Senate Democrats, We're always
(01:42):
going to go along and pass the continuing resolution. Okay.
They got together with Republicans and again they have to
play for the cameras. They have to make their speeches.
They had Chuck Schumer Struck Schumers on en mess NBC.
It was so obvious, so obviously bad acting. He was
(02:03):
all right, I called Republicans bastards and then then caught himself.
It's like he saw it was like he was practicing
that line in front of a mirror all along. They
were going to pass this, okay, but again they have
to put on a show for all of us suckers. Okay,
all of us suckers out here. I'm not a sucker. Okay.
(02:26):
You might be a member of one of the cults,
whether it be the Republican cult or Democratic cult. It's
a unit freaking party. Man Elon Musk Again, I feel
bad for that guy. In more ways than one. Because
you know, he's gonna get screwed. He's gonna get screwed.
(02:46):
He's going to do all of this work. He's going
to do all of this stuff. He's taking time away
from his businesses and his companies because he's trying to
do the right thing. When all is said and done,
I'm telling it again, I hate being pessimistic, but I'm
I'm watching this thing unfold. He he's those are not
gonna get anything cut. Okay, they're gonna highlight all these things.
(03:08):
It's making headlines. Why not, why not cut it out
of the budget? Now? I could have, but they didn't.
They didn't. What they did do is say, okay, we're
pretty much gonna keep everything the same. All I know.
They made a little bit of justice, no added uh
(03:29):
added pork projects, added some more to defense, cut some
of the Democrats up. But again they got all houses
of Congress. Okay, so again this is all pre negotiated people. Okay,
Democrats are gonna give come out and give their speeches.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
I know, but it would be worse if if we
are my God, if we let Elon and Trump they
shut their government down. That evil Elon is gonna decide
who's essential and there might be layoffs. Yeah, and and
this was again all preordained in all stage. Again, you
(04:09):
spend time devoting yourself following certain people you know, and
again you watch, you watch some of the social media
wacka dows and there's a lot of social media wackados
on the right. Again, you got libs of.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
TikTok and they highlight all of the nonsense and a
lot of nonsense and crazy things that liberals do. Tell
you something, the super Trumpsters out there are just as
freaking bad. Okay, they're just as bad. They treat anything
that Donald Trump says or whatever he does or whatever's
going on. Oh my god, it's like it came down.
It's like Moses coming down. Come on, you're going after now,
(04:49):
going after Thomas Massey and Rand Paul. But why don't
you take a look at their resumes and why don't
you see what they've done in their time for crying
out out loud, maga. They're the original cost cutters. Matter,
They've been around for a lot longer than Trump's been around.
They know that this was a ruse, this was a setup,
(05:10):
because that's exactly what it is. And again I'm surprised.
I mean, I'm surprised Elon hasn't figured this out yet
because I'm starting to see it. I'm very very hopeful,
very very hopeful. But again, now they're going to push
this continued resolution they pushed to September. September. What do
(05:36):
you have to do? What else? That is your number
one job? Is controlling the purse strings? That that's your
number one thing? What else you do? Why is it
going to take you to September? Not to mention the
fact again I mentioned August, they don't work in August.
I mean Europe, European vacation, Congressional vacation, way better, the best,
(06:01):
best job going. You barely work. So you just you
just outlined all of these things. You did a great job,
must did a great job finding all this, all this waste,
all this nonsense. Now they have to fight it out
in courts, whether or not it's legal or not. You
don't have to fight it out in the courts. If
Congress cuts the spending because they're in charge of it,
(06:23):
purse strings, why wouldn't they do that. Oh no, we
gotta wait until we put everything together. And now they're
throwing crap up at the wall to see what's going
to stick again. All of the super magas were jumping
up and down yesterday.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
Trump wants to eliminate income taxes on anyone making less
than one hundred and fifty thousand dollars a year.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
It's it's made the tax code even more progressive. But
anyone making less one hundred and fifty thousand, that's what
they threw out there again, that's that's almost like something
or any standard FID. I mean, anyone making less than
hundred fifty thousand doesn't have to pay any federal income taxes. Now,
(07:07):
I get it. Every we all pay taxes in this country.
We're in a perpetual state of paying taxes. But but
why not why not push for real tax or form?
Why not go for a national sales tax? Why not
go for a flat tax? I don't get it. I mean,
I don't know how this is gonna fly. Obviously you're
gonna I mean, I think that they're probably gonna have
(07:29):
to raise people's taxes that are making over one hundred
and fifty thousand dollars. I don't know. I haven't seen
the numbers yet, but you know, again, I want to
remind everybody okay to stay grounded. Stay grounded it be
a critical thinker. You need to seek You need to
see through the narratives and the bullshit that everyone keeps
(07:52):
throwing at you. This big win there put a share,
We passed continuations. You did nothing, kept the government open,
hippie kaye. Take a look at our deficit record record
deficits record, deficits down the pike too. I told you
(08:16):
two hundred million dollars a day a day. Excuse me
an hour, two hundred million a day. I wish two
hundred million dollars an hour. We go further into debt,
and we're supposed to be excited about passing a continuing resolution.
Give me a break. Watchdog on Wall Street dot Com
