Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact it we'll have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader Chris Markowski.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Donald J.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
Trump has channeled the original dapper Don John Gottie. I
made the an enormous mistake this morning by checking my
news feed when I get up. I got up very
very early, and I have my little meditative time, prayer time,
you know, to myself.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
I looked at my phone.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
I saw a news alert, and I looked at it,
and I'm not supposed to do that, Okay, just not
supposed to do that first thing in the morning. I
try to avoid that. Yeah, it set the tone for
the day. I saw that Donald Trump is, Yeah, he
is going to shake down in Nvidia and AMD in
(01:00):
in the same manner a mafia don would shake down
a business, exact same thing, no different from what Donald
Trump is doing than what John Gottie or any other
mobster would do.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Pay me, pay me. I often invoke Don Finucci. We
my beak.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Yeah again, I've never seen this before, never ever seen
this before. Nvidia and AMD have agreed to give the
Trump administration a portion of their sales from their artificial
intelligence chips to China.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
Now, it was just not long.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
Ago where we were told that they weren't allowed to
sell these chips to China because it was a national
security concern. Now they can sell these chips to China
as long as they give the Trump administration fifteen percent
of their revenues their sales. This is this is billions
(02:14):
and billions of dollars going to the Trump administration, the
Commerce Department. I guess they're they're calling it there. They're
paying for their license. They're paying for their license to
sell chips. Again, it's quite frankly, this is it's illegal.
(02:39):
My reading here, Article one, Section nine, Clause five United
States Constitution, no tax or duty shall be laid on
articles exported from any state. The Supreme Court has interpreted
this export clause to address shipments only to foreign countries,
(03:01):
not shipments to unincorporated territories such as Puerto Rico or
in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
I ain't care gonna do it anyway. I don't care.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
We are we're marching towards state capitalism. People There's there's
no other way around it. Even Greg ip today, you know,
putting his columns in a generation ago, conventional wisdom held
at China, China liberalize its economy would come to resemble America's. Instead,
(03:38):
capitalism in America is starting to look like China again,
running things out of Washington, d C. And you know,
Trump's not the first person.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
To do this.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
You know, Joe Biden Inflation Reduction Act giving f one
hundred billion dollars in clean energy loans, the Chips Act
thirty nine billion dollars in subsidies, eight point five of
it went to Intel. Intel. Donald Trump told the CEO
of Intel to resign. He's meeting the CEO of Intel
(04:15):
today at the White House. I wonder what he's going
to extract from him. Does does did Lucabra Luca Brazi
was killed?
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Man, Luca Luca was killed.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Luca Luca Luca Brazi was killed in Godfather on But
he must be working for Trump because again they're making
people offers that they can't refuse. I guess this is
the United States today.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
I get people. Do you think I like saying this?
Speaker 3 (04:44):
And this is to all of you people out there
that think that I have Trump derangement syndrome. Now, I
just love the free market, and I love capitalism and
the rule of law and the United States Constitution quite frankly,
hell of a lot more than Donald Trump. That that
(05:07):
that's what made America. Donald Trump didn't make America. And
again I would again I invite and write all of
the magotypes out there listening to this right now, refute
my point.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Bring receipts.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
You you explain to me how this is okay. And
to all of you boot licking Republicans out there, shame
on you.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Shame on.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
Oh you you're gonna You're gonna hear from Rand Paul
and Thomas Massey and people that actually believe in the
United States Constitution. But the rest of the boot liquors
they won't say a damn thing. It really is sad.
And again, you got to take a look at this
as far as a small business is concerned. They can't
afford to go paying off Trump.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
They can't.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
And I've I've lamented regulatory capture for some time here
on this program. Like I said, this is nothing new,
but this takes it to a whole new level, a
whole new level. How do you compete? How do you
compete against that? You can't you can't afford to. The
(06:24):
barriers to entry are too high in industries now, and
they're becoming even higher. People, did you really recognizing what's
what's going on right now? I have the President of
the United States basically said, you want to do business
in China, you have to pay me.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Let me tell you a story. It's true story.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
I'm bartending in New York City. I'm bartending in New
York City. It's a restaurant in the Upper East Side
and cleaning up for the night. Guy comes into the restaurant.
Guy comes into the restaurant and he's just like, yeah,
you know, I'm doing your garbage now. I got your garbage.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
And I'm like, what do you mean? And I hadn't
been in New York City that long that long, so
I was a bit naive.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
It's just like, I've got your garbage, now, could you
hold one second? And I went downstairs got the manager.
He came upstairs, and I guess these guys have our
garbage now again some turf war, some mafia took it over.
(07:37):
It's not like you get to pick and choose in
some of it, and this is how it works. Okay,
this is the same type of thing that you would see,
like I said on the Sopranos, exactly the same, except
on a bigger level.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
And you got so many people out there. He was
just the art of the deal. You're the president of
the United States.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
You're supposed to protect and uphold. You put your hand
on a bible to uphold the Constitution of the United States,
and quite frankly, okay, he's wiping.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
His ass with it. I know it's crude. I know
it's rude, but I'm not wrong.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
He is defecating on the Constitution of the United States and.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
The rule of law.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
And again, his peeps, his peeps out there are applauding it.
Shame on you, watch Dog on Wall Street dot Com
