Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact it we'll have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader Chris Markowski.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Big Beautiful Guy's a peace plan. I'm actually batting back
and forth whether or not to even talk about this.
I'm a little superstitious when it comes to things. Is
the old saying for athletes you never you know, touch
called touch the money. I everybody should be hoping, hoping
(00:43):
and praying at this point in time that this thing,
this thing goes through.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Right now, uh, the military.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Israeli military said a.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
Friday ceasefire went.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Into effect, looking like the hostages, god willing will come
back and humanitarian aid will come into the territory as well.
Israeli troops withdrew from parts of the Gaza Strip as
part of the cease fire deal. Israeli and Arab officials
(01:21):
again are right now it looks like everything is going
going as planned again. The reason why, I mean, I'm
not here to be the slightest bit glass is half
empty type of guy. Okay, I'm really not, I really
am hoping and praying that this had come through. You know,
(01:43):
like I said, I remember vividly, you know, watching I
was on my honeymoon for crying out loud, watching the
process supposedly come together then fall apart. Bill Clinton was
president and arafat walking away from the entire thing. You
have to give you have to give Donald Trump a
(02:07):
hell of a lot of credit on this should really
do you know, I'm sure, I'm sure you know, many
in the left are going to poo poo it, but
he's doing something.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
Extraordinary, extraordinary.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Bill Clinton himself said, you know, this is the greatest
disappointment failure of his presidency and not you know, getting
this done, this goes forward, This without a doubt is
you know, we mark him down as one of the
greats when it comes to diplomacy. And it's interesting, it's
(02:44):
interesting we have all of these, you know, the top
men experts. They parade them on TV talking about the
conflict in all of these different ways, all of their degrees,
and they go from one administration to the next administration,
and they're experts, and they got the Atlantic Council and
they go to all.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Of these meetings and they really.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
They don't have any visions. It's like they need the conflicts.
They need the conflicts to just keep going in order
to keep themselves employed in a job so they can
continue to be experts. Yeah, that word expert, we throw
it around all the time. What makes you a freaking expert?
(03:32):
All of these foreign policies? This expert?
Speaker 3 (03:35):
That?
Speaker 2 (03:36):
What what qualifies you as being an expert?
Speaker 3 (03:39):
To me?
Speaker 2 (03:40):
You're an expert if you you actually can get something done,
you can actually get something accomplished. You know, use a
sports thing, you know Michael Jordan's bit of an expert
when it comes to basketball.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Yeah, you look the various different fels. You know what's
funny is actually we have more experts doing sports commentary
than we do Actually with political commentary. All we have
is one failure, one failed expert after another after another
(04:17):
after another. Even with the military experts that they bring
on a regular basis. You know that that served here,
served and they what was the last time we want
anything anyway? Putting that aside, Donald Trump did something and
I got to Peggy Newton actually pointed this out today
(04:39):
and her.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Column go back.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Go back to when who was in the White House,
who was in the White House with Donald Trump, and
Donald Trump gave that rant and he was in full
real estate developer mote, talking about uh, you know the
oh right there, all this beachfront property and the weather's
(05:07):
perfect there, and.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
He gave an alternative look at what it could be.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
He he basically presented something a complete contrast of.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
What it could be.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
I me, you remember that Yahu's face when he was
talking about that, and oh, you know Trump Tower. I
think he tweeted out a picture of like a Trump
Tower and Gaza completely completely changing.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
From what it is to what it could be.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
That that's vision, okay, and you gotta I give the
president full credit for that. And he's good at that.
He's good at that, and I wish he would just
stick to that. And I'd go back to that story
(06:08):
New York City with the woman rink in Central Park
and how that the city government couldn't fix that, they
were cost overruns, couldn't do it again. He took the
thing over again. It was great publicity stunt for himself.
It was fantastic, but it wasn't a stunt. He went out,
(06:29):
he got the Okay, we found out what was the best,
who had the best ice and all of the NHL.
And I guess he brought in the people, the true experts,
people that have actually gotten done. He brought in the
true experts. He brought in the people that do the
ice for I think it was the Montreal Canadians, you know,
put the thing together, did it himself.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
Again. The city was fighting him, fighting him.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
They didn't want to do it because again it was
showing that, you know, the private sector can do a
better job. Yeah, brilliant to make you know, basically, change
the change the narrative, change the picture again. Choose my
enthusiasm here because I hate to see, you know, what
(07:17):
has been taking place, what has been transpiring there.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
And you know, when you.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Kind of put yourself in the feet of people that actually,
you know, have hope now have hope for we haven't
had hope for.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
For a long time.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
Again, you know, families that are going to maybe get
their loved ones back, the remains of their loved ones
back again whatever. October seventh, the absolute horrific tragedy that
that was. And then you know, you get the other
side of the equation as well, people that have been
(07:56):
you know, starving and living in squalor and all of
you know, it's it's a disasterion you we want it
to end.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
We want it to end, and it kind.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
Of put yourself on their shoes and see that the
can't almost feel the hope that they're feeling at this
point in time. You know, God willing we see this
thing through. You know, God willing. There isn't some bad
actor that is going to go out of their way
to mess up the prophecy process. And I don't again,
I don't want to be glass as half empty. Okay,
(08:27):
I want to be hopeful with this and we all,
we all should say a prayer to and hope that you.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Know again and maybe, just maybe we can.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
Visit the Trump Hotel U God's a resort in the future.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
