Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast, explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact it we'll have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader Chris Markowski.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Very very big, encouraging news. Donald Trump had a conversation
with Vladimir Putin, and this is so truth social I'm
going to share what he put out there. I just
had a lengthy and highly productive phone call with Vladimir
Putin of Russia. We discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, energy,
artificial intelligence, the power of the dollar, and various other subjects.

(00:37):
We both reflected on the great history of our nations
and the fact that we fought so successfully together in
World War Two, remembering that Russia lost tens of millions
of people and we likewise lost so many. We each
talked about the strengths of our respective nations and the
great benefit that we will someday have in working together.
But first, as we both agreed, we want to stop

(00:58):
the millions of deaths taking place in the war with
Russia Ukraine. President Putin even used my very strong campaign
motto of common sense. We both believe very strongly. We
agreed to work together very closely, including visiting each other's nations.
We have also agreed to have our respective teams start
negotiations immediately, and we will begin by calling President Zelenskiy

(01:22):
of Ukraine to inform him of the conversation, something which
I will be doing right now. I've asked Secretary of
State Marco Rubio, Director of the CIA John Ratcliffe, National
Security Advisor Michael Wallas, and Ambassador and Special Endvoy Steve
Whitkoff to lead the negotiations, which I feel strongly will
be successful. Millions of people have died in a war
that would not have happened if I were president, but

(01:43):
it did happen, so it must end. No more lives
should be lost. I want to thank President put for
his time and effort with respect to this call, and
for the release yesterday of Mark Fogel, a wonderful man
that I personally agreeted last night at the White House.
I believe this effort will lead to a successful conclusion,
hope soon, and I hope so as well. Pete Hegseth

(02:06):
comments prior to this Ukraine is not going to be
a member of NATO, and no we are not putting
US troops in Ukraine. I guarantee, I guarantee again the
narrative building is going to happen right now. See Trump

(02:29):
loves food and how can he talk to him that way?

Speaker 1 (02:32):
It?

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Did you watch any of the the footage? Do do?
Go on? You have watched. You can see what has
taken place in this trench warfare and what is going
on at some point in time people, this must stop,

(03:00):
that this this has to stop. And what what is
it gonna We're gonna keep sending billions of dollars, We're gonna,
you know, keep that meat grind or going? Is that?
Is that what you want? You wouldn't rather, you wouldn't
rather have some sort of out on this. And I'm

(03:24):
telling you right now, that's a narrative they're building. That's
a narrative they're going to push again. Hope and pray
that this can be negotiated and over with sooner rather
than later. Get the world back on a better foot again,

(03:47):
the energy flow back into Europe, bringing energy prices down,
bringing wealth back up. You got to rebuild the Ukraine. Obviously,
We've got to talk about the various different assets that
are there. We spent a fortune over there. Okay, that
is one of the most corrupt countries in Europe. We
all know it, and we can't let again these oligarchs

(04:09):
and people take control of all of that. That can't happen.
So yes, a lot needs to be worked out, but
at some point in time that the death, the death
has to stop. Watchdog on Wall Street dot Com

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
