Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact it we'll have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader Chris Markowski.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
A little East wing wake up call. Yeah, I'm talking
the East wing of the White House. It's got everyone's
underwear in a bunch stats for sure. And hey, hey,
it's all the rage, all the rage on the cable
networks as well on all of the conservative talkers out
(00:40):
there as wells are right the two edition, you know,
it's not a problem. And then you got, you know,
the left freaking out. And I watched this stuff and again,
I know I'm starting to sound like or look like
Abe Simpson, you know, old man yelling at a cloud,
which people wake the hell up? Did you understand how
(01:05):
nonsensical this is. I'd be quite honest. I don't give
a damn what he does. Damn White how I really
don't care here, it's the people's house whatever, man, I
don't care.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
I really don't.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Why do you care? Oh, it's our history, you know, people,
we're not going to have history. How many stories did
you see this past week about our national debt topping
thirty eight trillion dollars. Thirty eight trillion dollars. Yeah, we
(01:40):
just passed thirty seven trillion two months ago. We're now
at thirty eight trillion. Yeah, we were thirty four trillion.
Let me get the numbers here. We were thirty four
trillion in January of twenty twenty four, thirty five trillion
(02:00):
in July of twenty twenty four, thirty six trillion of
sins November of twenty twenty four. Yeah, just let you
know what we're paying an interest? Okay, interest payments on
the nation's debt are forecast to rise from four trillion
(02:21):
over the past decade. Past decade, we basically flushed four
trillion dollars down the toilet. Why does it bother me? Well,
you know, I pay taxes. It's now going to be
fourteen trillion dollars over the next ten years. But yeah,
we're worried about worry about Trump and his construction project.
(02:45):
I don't quite don't give it, Dan, I don't. I know.
The media loves it because again it gets the people going,
let's get people riled up over things that really, quite
frankly don't matter. You know, this is the thing I've
talked about, the word priority. Yeah, and again this is
the media's fault too. But again you know, they're they're
there to you know, juice their ratings and their producers
(03:08):
and the powers that they want to talk about nonsense
like this. If they actually really gave it, give it
damn the slightest bit of a damn about the country,
they would be talking about things that are truly important.
National debt. How about the fact that we've got forty
two million America's not a big story. Okay, forty two
(03:30):
million Americans right now on food stamps. Forty two million
Americans on food stamps, estimated to be around eighty three
to eighty four million on medicaid. I know the stories.
(03:52):
Let's let's get all let's get all worried about Trump
in the East wing. This is not the slightest bit
more important. Let's get the The inflation number came out today,
inflation three percent, three percent. Again, the Fed's supposed to
get it down to two, but the underlying jobs numbers
(04:12):
are very very weak, and they're gonna cut rates. And
everybody applauded this because it wasn't as bad as everyone
thought it was going to be. We shall see here
the price changes. Okay, year over year September CPI from
last September, Gas and utilities are up eleven point seven percent.
(04:32):
Electricity is up five point one percent, use cars up
five point one percent, fuel loyal up four point one percent,
medical care up three point nine percent, food away from
home three point seven percent, shelter up three point six percent,
food and home up two point seven percent, transportation up
two point five new cars up point eight Gasoline is
(04:53):
actually down point five percent. And this is just tacked
on to all of the price increases that we've seen
during the Biden years. Are aren't not these things more
important than Trump's? Again, I don't know what the hell.
(05:14):
I think it's stupid, quite frankly, we don't need a
freaking how many massive ballroom? How often are they going
to use that space for crying out loud? I might
as well put an indoor hockey arena for crying. That
makes any sense to me? But whatever, I could care
less do we want to do? Okay, he's there now.
He wants to put gold trim up everywhere. Have that.
(05:35):
I don't care. I don't have these things. I care about.
These are the things that you should care about. This
is the problem. They want to distract you from the
things that are actually really important to really dumb stuff. Hey, everybody,
wake up. Watchdog on Wall Street dot com
