It is the Halloween season, though, scare View is going
on out at saying all the scariest thing I've seen
in a while with Steve Animal from her sister station
ninety eight to seven of the Mountain Wild, a wonderful classic.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Why he ain't doing Buddy, I'm good, I'm good. Why
are you here? Why you asked me to be here?
Speaker 7 (02:15):
Okaypefully, my friend Jamie from Scareview is with me and
we're broadcasting live there Friday night, and we'll be back
there again throughout the month of October. We'll wrap it
up Halloween night, which is kind of cool. And we've
been giving away tickets on the other stations in the
family here and uh yeah, I always have fun because
Jamie dresses up, he's in character. I mean he's even
(02:37):
gone to show us a visual see he's even really
living the party.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
You know this is radio, right, Steve, they can't see that. Man,
You're just gonna have to come up to Scareview that Jamie.
How you doing, Muddy, I'm good?
Speaker 8 (02:51):
How you doing great?
Speaker 5 (02:51):
To be here?
Speaker 3 (02:52):
How's how's it been so far?
Speaker 8 (02:54):
It's been great? All right?
Speaker 3 (02:55):
Now, and remind people where it is.
Speaker 8 (02:57):
High Street in Saint Oleans all right.
Speaker 6 (02:59):
And so you got underway on you did one on
September the twenty seventh, at end, you did October third, fourth, tenth,
and eleventh, and you're back again this Friday and Saturday night,
the following Friday and Saturday night.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Then back on Halloween night, right sir? All right?
Speaker 6 (03:11):
And see if you were out there broadcasting live on
the Mountain Friday night, how was that?
Speaker 3 (03:15):
It is awesome?
Speaker 7 (03:15):
Like this place, what are we in now?
Speaker 8 (03:17):
What year is this seventeenth year? I believe?
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Yeah, which is crazy?
Speaker 7 (03:20):
And this thing during so you get there like if
you went last year, as you walked through the place,
got scared white yourself like some people.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Did well at your age, Steve, that happened.
Speaker 7 (03:31):
Yeah, come on by the mountain table. I have some
dependent for you there and I'll sign them.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Oh, there we go.
Speaker 6 (03:37):
Did you seriously have someone without going in all the details, Jamie,
but did you really have someone who?
Speaker 8 (03:42):
Yes? Oh yeah, okay, that's an every night thing.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Every night that happens.
Speaker 7 (03:47):
Yeah, And it's funny because like they get you. You know,
you're lined up outside, You're not just standing there, You're
actually being entertained the entire time, which some of the creatures.
The critter is my favorite, you know, but that you're
in shock and ah, but about the house, it's really
neat because these guys spend a lot of time in
the off season. Money is going to the volunteer West
(04:10):
Side Volunteer Fire departments, sir. And but it changes like
it's it's a house that changes itself. You walk into
one room this year and me, look like this next
year doesn't look anything like it did the year. You
think it's like, oh, yeah, I've been here before. I know,
Oh this is not the same place, right.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Yeah. So Jamie, have you been involved in this since
day one? Since the very beginning? And it goes back
to two thousand and eight, I think you said.
Speaker 6 (04:33):
What was it that appealed to you or the organizers
from the very beginning? Where did this idea actually come from?
Speaker 9 (04:39):
It's like their idea was it was a cross between
West Side and the Tornado Volunteer Fire Department.
Speaker 6 (04:45):
Okay, all right, And but has this been something that
that you personally, because in order the people that do
these sorts of haunted trails, haunted houses, whatever the case
may be, it's somebody that's got a love of that
sort of thing to begin with, so it'll be genuine.
Speaker 9 (04:57):
Yeah, I've been a junkie since I was thirteen or
fourteen year years old.
Speaker 6 (05:01):
Talk about some of your experiences growing up, some places
that you may have gone, like different trails and stuff.
Speaker 9 (05:06):
House to one of the trails to see Cato Park
was a big one when I was growing up.
Speaker 8 (05:11):
The Myers House, which a lot of people don't remember.
It was in St.
Speaker 9 (05:13):
Albans and they actually put f live chainsaws through walls there,
which was crazy.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
They can't do that anymore.
Speaker 8 (05:21):
Well, it depends.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
Is that word again?
Speaker 8 (05:26):
There there's so many.
Speaker 9 (05:28):
I mean we go to a trade show every year
out in Missouri and Saint Louis and you get the
you get to meet up with all the people that's
into industry. So it's just it's a love it's a
love hate relationship.
Speaker 7 (05:40):
It's actually an industry like it is evolved into. It
took over Christmas, yeah, it had. I mean they even
had had loast. I mean there was Halloween stuff out
on the fourth of July. I'm just like, really, here
we go and it's amazing.
Speaker 6 (05:54):
I mean this event, you know too, and every year
somebody pops up different you know, we're gonna try to
do a honted house, and god lesson for all trying
to do that, but very few stand the test of
time because it's you know, these things run on volunteers
and nobody gets paid anything, and so people just burn
out and so on and so forth. But you guys
must enjoy what you're doing to have done it since
(06:14):
two thousand and eight.
Speaker 8 (06:16):
I have a dedicated group that helps me.
Speaker 6 (06:18):
How many people, roughly does it take to pull this off?
Speaker 8 (06:20):
Because this year was about eight of us.
Speaker 6 (06:24):
Okay, all right, and that's and not only are you
giving up you know, your your time, but many of
you are giving up your dollars and so on and
so forth, and your skills to be able to put
these things on.
Speaker 8 (06:36):
Yes, yeah, like I said, the eight, the eight that
was just builders.
Speaker 9 (06:40):
We have over one hundred volunteers right now, actor wise
and everything else.
Speaker 6 (06:44):
So how many how many actors? If I go out,
let's say, on Friday night, now, how many approximately, how
many actors are going to be there?
Speaker 8 (06:50):
Fifteen?
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Is that what you call them as actors? Okay?
Speaker 6 (06:53):
And what and we don't want to give too much
away on the air, but what what can people expect
when they come out, we'll just leave it at that
and crying and apparently you're a nation.
Speaker 8 (07:02):
But to get scared, I don't know.
Speaker 7 (07:04):
Yeah, some people laugh, some people cry. I mean, it's
a roller coaster of emotions. But it's uh, you know,
everybody going into it is just there to have a
good time. And that's what it's there for too, not
only entertainment, but again raising some good money for a
good crew that needs the money. The West Side Volunteer
Fire Department, and they're there on hand to lend a hand.
(07:25):
They fire up the grill for those that are volunteering,
which is very cool. So and if you want to
be an actor, maybe you want to come out and
see what it's about.
Speaker 8 (07:32):
Yeah, come find me and I'll sign you all right.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Hang out with you. Here's one second.
Speaker 6 (07:36):
Dave Valan Chilling five eighty Live is brought to you
parted by Husband's Pizza. This month, get a large at
and Itch Pepperoni pizza and to order of fifty centm
and Bites twenty ninety nine. Find your closest Hustans for delivery.
Pug Upper dined in at Huston's Pizza dot com. It's
speaking of food as I was. One of the things
I like about what you guys do here is you're
pricing on the tickets. You're encouraging people to bring out
nonperishable food. Food out Jamie talking about you get.
Speaker 9 (07:58):
Two bucks off your make at price of twelve dollars
goes to Christ Kitchens and a couple of other local
food banks right there and them.
Speaker 6 (08:05):
And it doesn't necessarily you don't have to bring like
cases of or anything like that, just a couple of
cans here and there.
Speaker 8 (08:10):
You could bring a can to cans whatever you feel like.
Speaker 9 (08:12):
Yeah, we filled up a couple of trailers so far
on Christ Kitchens and stuff.
Speaker 7 (08:17):
Early is and you know, it doesn't take anything to
help people out. And this this is what this thing
is about anyway.
Speaker 9 (08:24):
So everything goes back into the community, yeah, one way
or another.
Speaker 6 (08:28):
And the voluntary, as you said, with people that come
out and volunteer for this sort of thing, You've got
to be a certain kind of person that wants to
do this because you never know what the reaction of
certain people is going to be. Some people are going
to come through, just like with any other thing, like
some people are going to come through and they're gonna
be like, uh okay, and then there's going to be
other people that are all because I volunteered and done
(08:51):
haunted houses years and one hundred years.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
Ago we did one.
Speaker 6 (08:54):
And you have those people that come in usually usually
team boys, you know, or young guys you know nothing
bothers me.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Yeah, get back with me in about five minutes.
Speaker 8 (09:03):
Those are the ones that you want.
Speaker 6 (09:06):
Talk about the age appropriateness for this, because sometimes people
will say, well, it's I mean, you know your kid
better than anybody does.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
We'll start with that.
Speaker 6 (09:15):
Not all kids are going to be the same, but yeah,
but is there an age like that.
Speaker 9 (09:19):
There's there's no age, there's nothing there, there's no requirement.
If you feel like that they can go.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
Through then, but they do have to be accompanied by
most Yes. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (09:29):
So there was a like a three year old who
came out, went through the thing and came out kind
of crying, and I had like low bracelets and stuff
at the mountain table and gave her one. It's like,
oh okay, shiny objects. Yeah, completely gone, you know, just
happy and on her way she went.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
So it was kind of fun.
Speaker 9 (09:47):
So if you come up and you say, like if
if you have like a five or six year old.
You paid to get in. We have what we call
a chicken line. Once you get past that line, you're
not getting your money back. Okay, the chicken line once
you once you, once you get in, and if they
decide that they can't do it or don't want to
do it before they get in the door, we try
our best to get them through there.
Speaker 8 (10:08):
We'll go through.
Speaker 9 (10:09):
Tell our actors not to scare them.
Speaker 8 (10:11):
We'll walk through as characters.
Speaker 9 (10:13):
You know you want to go through with one of
the scariest people here, Come on, we'll go We've even
turned the lights back on for people before.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
How long does it take to go through?
Speaker 5 (10:23):
Saturday?
Speaker 9 (10:23):
We timed a group at twenty five minutes, but they
were flat out running.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (10:28):
The longest we've had has been fifty minutes so far.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Okay, all right? And how many do you take back
at a time?
Speaker 8 (10:34):
Ten? Ten or so ten to a group, usually eight
to ten.
Speaker 9 (10:38):
And you come in. As you come in, there's two
groups in the building. You get the rules. Then we
send one group in and we put one group in
what we call chicken coop, and you get you get
tormented for five minutes or so.
Speaker 6 (10:49):
Okay, in the dark right, and then again this is
all it's all community based. It all helps out the
West Side Fire Department, and of course you're helping out
christ Kitchen with the nonperishable food items as well.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
There's a is there a social media people can go
to and take a look at it. And you're gonna
give away too much on social media, I know, but
go ahead.
Speaker 8 (11:07):
But one other thing too.
Speaker 9 (11:09):
Yeah, all of our actors, if they're like college, high school,
or middle school, they all get volunteer community.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
Which is required to graduate.
Speaker 6 (11:16):
Yeah, exactly, it's not the kind of community service you
got Steve yours.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Yours was court ordered.
Speaker 8 (11:21):
The funny thing is that's how I met Steve. Really,
we were on the same chain game.
Speaker 6 (11:26):
You had to go there, Stephen, Steve and his mom
were on the same chain game there together. It's it's
lovely when families come together like that.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
You can't wait for the holidays, all.
Speaker 6 (11:34):
Right, So you got this next, you got this coming
Friday and Saturday, the following Friday and Saturday, and then
on Halloween night. That's got to be because Halloween is
on a Friday this year. So that's after you and
what are your hours? By the way, I need to.
Speaker 8 (11:47):
Mention the dusk till midnight.
Speaker 9 (11:50):
We sell the last ticket at midnight and we stay
until we get the last group through.
Speaker 7 (11:53):
All right, all right, and one more thing, uh scare
of you. We'll fire up the halls again December fifth
for cramp.
Speaker 8 (12:00):
Oh yeah, we've not done we've never done the Crampus before.
Speaker 6 (12:03):
We think the last time you were here last year,
you talked about plans for that, that you'd like to
do that.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
So what's up?
Speaker 6 (12:08):
And we'll have you on before then to talk about it,
but give us a brief preview what that's going to.
Speaker 9 (12:12):
Be December fifth and sixth, which is actually the German
holiday at Crumpingstone.
Speaker 8 (12:17):
It's going to be a holiday haunt.
Speaker 9 (12:19):
The price goes up just a little bit more, and
we don't take can donations. We're taking toy donations, okay,
instead to get your two dollars off your tickets.
Speaker 6 (12:28):
All right, but we'll have you on before down now
you were you were here this past Friday night?
Speaker 3 (12:32):
Or are we back out there again?
Speaker 7 (12:34):
We'll be there Halloween Hollow. We'll be back.
Speaker 6 (12:36):
You'll be back up there Halloween night broadcasting live. All right,

Hey, good morning, Dave. Thanks for having me.
Speaker 6 (15:51):
Thank your knock your microphone down a little bit. You're
a bit louder than what the other gal was.
Speaker 14 (15:55):
I don't want to be too late.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
You're fine.
Speaker 6 (15:57):
Of course, you're on the Let's Talk podcast with Carly,
but you make appearances on there.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
We are that here.
Speaker 6 (16:03):
It's not only a podcast but also air it on
the air as well. But now you want to be
a member of the Kanawha County Board of Education. Yeah
all right, so before we get into why you're doing that,
give us the bio and Lisa Odie okay.
Speaker 15 (16:15):
Well, Dave, I'm from eastern Kanac County. I grew up
in Bell, West Virginia, attended Bell Elementary in DuPont High School,
went on to attend State College and Marshall to obtain
my bachelor's and master's degree. And then, of course I
was hired by kennaw County Schools and I served a
variety of positions with them over my thirty five year tenure.
(16:38):
I started as a preschool teacher, was a kindergarten teacher,
a librarian, a technician, a reading interventionist, and then the
last six years of my career, I was a reading specialist.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
And that means you did everything. Would drive the bus
at this point, right, I could.
Speaker 15 (16:53):
I could have probably driven the bus as well, Dave.
But yeah, that last position that I served in for
the last seven years of my career with a county schools,
what's the one that really brought to my attention. You know,
the whole county. I was able to serve K twelve.
I was able to serve you know, all students. I
serve families, I serve teachers and staff individually, and I
(17:14):
learned a lot about the school system and you know,
some of the things that they may need or not
need to be successful in the future.
Speaker 6 (17:22):
So with your background, having done everything that you did
within the school system, yes, they're there. What kind of
a I don't want to say advantage, that's not well, okay,
I'll say advantage. I mean, what kind of experiences did
did you learn or did you take part in there, Lisa,
that you think will make you a good member of
the canaw County Board of Education.
Speaker 15 (17:39):
Well, I feel like Dave, We've got a great board
that sitting board right now. But a lot of them
come from business backgrounds, a lot of them come from
the administrative side of things in the school system. I'm
coming fresh from the trenches. I just retired. Like I said,
I had the myriad of positions when I worked in
the county, and I feel like those are advantages because
(18:00):
I can see through the eyes of the students because
I worked with them individually. I can see through the
eyes of the families that I worked with, you know,
in meetings and in emails and phone calls.
Speaker 5 (18:08):
You know.
Speaker 15 (18:09):
I can also see through the eyes of the teachers
and stuff, because you know, I worked with those people
as well. So I feel like just the point of
view that I'm bringing to the board would be valuable.
Speaker 6 (18:18):
Talking again with Lisa Odie, who's going to be a
candidate for a board of education in Kanawa count Even
Dave Allen showing five dyline broad toom parted by the
All New Generations board of Hurricane check out Generations for
dot Com. Now there's you know a lot of people
get these ideas for political office, whether it's board or whatever,
and they say, well, you know, I think I could
do it.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
I really I've got a passion for this, and I'm
sure you do, but it's got.
Speaker 6 (18:39):
To go, you know a little bit beyond that, How
difficult was to talk about your decision making progress to
decide to make the run for Ward of Education?
Speaker 14 (18:47):
Okay, it was a back and forth battle. You know.
Speaker 15 (18:50):
There were some events that led up to it that
kind of pushed me in this direction, but overall I
kind of went back and forth because I thought to myself,
you know, I want to be some someone that's an
advocate for the students and families in Kanah County as
well as the staff. The political climate in public schools
definitely is changing.
Speaker 14 (19:11):
You're seeing, you.
Speaker 15 (19:11):
Know, a push for the for the you know, Hope Scholarship,
and that's kind of you know, it's kind of a
balancing act between funding your public schools and also being
able to fund those families who choose to you know,
private school their or homeschool their their children. And so
I feel like I could be a voice of reason
going into this position, kind of seeing all sides and
(19:34):
trying to you know, bring everybody to the table so
that we can kind of figure out a way that
this works for every single student in West Virginia.
Speaker 6 (19:41):
Excuse me, and will I will say this. You bring
up a very good point across across the nation, and
especially in West Virginia and Kanawha County is not not
unique in this parents are choosing for one reason or another.
They're choosing aspects other than quote unquote traditional of public schools.
Whether it's and I'm talking about traditional, whether it's charter schools,
(20:05):
whether it's homeschooling, whether it's scholars or whatever the case
may be. They're choosing other things. And you know that's
not necessarily a good thing or a bad thing, depends
on your unique position.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
Where are you on that.
Speaker 14 (20:16):
I mean, I think every family has a right to choose.
Speaker 15 (20:18):
I think where we have to figure out the answers
is we have to make sure that the funding for
public schools are also in place. Every single student. It's
not my kids, it's not your kids. These are all
our kids, and we need to ensure that every single
child in West Virginia has an opportunity for the best
education possible. And so we have to figure out a
way to get this funding worked out so that all
(20:39):
students have an opportunity to do that.
Speaker 6 (20:42):
And it's been said, Lisa, and I know, one member
of a board of education can't necessarily change this, but
it's been said that in West Virginia that we aren't
producing students that are ready for the world. And again,
one board member is not going to, you know, change
that that much. Sure, But I mean, where have we
(21:04):
It's a million dollar question. But but but but where
have we? Where have we gone off the rails now?
I will say I had Conaw County School Superintendent to
doctor Paul Potter on the show on Metro News Midday
on Friday, and she talked about the one school in
particular that had a very rapid uptick in scores. So
it's not all gloom and doom out there, no, but
there have been there seems to be a lot of
(21:24):
stories come out this says West Virginia students, not unique
to Kanawa County are just not ready for the world.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
How do we how do we change that?
Speaker 15 (21:31):
I mean, I think we're making huge strides. I think
there was an article just the other day that, you know,
some of the media outlets shared about the test scores
are on the rise, you know, s a T scores.
Speaker 14 (21:41):
I think we're on the right path.
Speaker 15 (21:43):
I just think we can have to ensure that you know,
our our teachers and staff are you know, supported enough
that this this this, you know, this rise keeps going
in the right direction. We need to make sure that
you know, students get the same support as well and families.
Speaker 14 (21:58):
You know, we just have to make sure. I think
we're on the right path, Dave.
Speaker 15 (22:00):
I just think we need to continue doing these outside
things that keeps them rising.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
What are some of those said things you think?
Speaker 15 (22:08):
Okay, well, I mean, you know, just making sure that
you know, these students are are able to access great curriculums,
which I think are in place. I also think that
you know, being able to make sure that that teachers have,
you know, classroom sizes that are that are manageable. We
don't want to overload classes so that teachers are stressed
and overwhelmed and the students, you know, are they feel
(22:29):
that as well. So we need to make sure, you know,
and some of this stuff is out of county control,
you know, it's it's state funded, it's it's national issues,
it's it's not something that Kennell County can fix. All
we can do is take care of the things that
we can take care of, as you know, acting as
a board and and just making sure that you know,
we're doing everything we can to help everybody meet their goals.
Speaker 6 (22:53):
And of course, if you're elected, you would be one
of a few at five Board of Education members and
you work with the superintend I'm going to ask you
a question going back to your education, the educational how
are you working with others? You get me working well
with others.
Speaker 14 (23:09):
I think I get five five stars for that for sure.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (23:12):
And again when you talk about the experience that you've
had inside the classroom, I think it's a and again, everybody,
no matter what the board is, everybody brings something different
to the table, whether it's business or whether it's whatever.
But having you know somebody who's actually been in the classroom,
I think I would think that that would be an advantage.
Speaker 14 (23:26):
Yeah, I would too.
Speaker 15 (23:27):
I mean, like I said, I think the sitting board,
you know, they've got a great selection of people. But
I feel like that I would be a you know
a great addition to what we have in place now.
And you know, if people vote for me, that that
that would just you know, strengthen what we've got going
on in Kanall County.
Speaker 6 (23:44):
Again, we're talking with Lisa Odie, who is going to
be a candidate for the Kanaw County Board of Education.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
What's your campaign style going to be? Are you going
door to door?
Speaker 15 (23:51):
Youosroots store, that's all grassroots? You know, I'm having to
right now, I'm working on a website. Don't have that
in play show, Okay, do have a Facebook that you
can access that I'm going to be, you know, posting
different different links to you know, hopefully we'll have some
some fundraising parties and things going on. Also a link
to maybe if you want to donate to my campaign,
(24:12):
that would be so great, so valuable to my whole journey. Here,
my Facebook handle is Lisa od four and it's KCS
all caps, b O.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
E all caps okay, and it's O T E y.
Speaker 14 (24:25):
Yes, I'm sorry y O T e ys how you
spell my.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
Same right now?
Speaker 6 (24:28):
In addition, we'll get away from the board. So just
for a moment, we have mentioned the podcast and so
on and so forth. But you've got kind of a
very background outside of the world of education.
Speaker 3 (24:38):
I mean, you've done broadcasting, done.
Speaker 15 (24:40):
A little bit of r Yeah, I mean I've done
our I did R s N for years. That's part
of HD Media. It was a tailgate show and you know,
we did the high school football scene for years.
Speaker 14 (24:51):
This year we're kind of on a hiatus.
Speaker 15 (24:52):
There's some things going on, but this is the first
year we've we've missed in quite a while. And then
also the podcast that I do with with Carl and
Hollis and Joy. So I'm very sports oriented. I was
at the Marshall game this past week. We'll heard go heard.
I mean, it was a big win for market.
Speaker 14 (25:07):
It was so awesome.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
It was a big one.
Speaker 14 (25:09):
Under collapse everywhere, right, it was awesome.
Speaker 3 (25:11):
Homecomings this week too.
Speaker 15 (25:12):
Homecoming is this week and we get to Morgantown as well.
I love both schools, so I'm a fan of both.
Speaker 8 (25:17):
All right.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
We got to make sure you get that in there
and state and you see, you get.
Speaker 14 (25:21):
All the schools all the time day.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
All right.
Speaker 6 (25:24):
If there are, and I'm sure that there, I don't,
I mean, I don't know that there will be. But
if there are, you meet the candidate's forums and things
of that nature. It's something you're willing to take part in,
to take questions and that sort of thing, debates or
discussions or whatever.
Speaker 15 (25:36):
Absolutely, anybody out there, reach out to my Facebook page,
send me a private message. I'm more than you know
willing to come out, answer questions, participate in any type
of you know, forums that you might have that you
would like for me to share my platform.
Speaker 14 (25:49):
I'm open to that.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
All right, Lisa.
Speaker 6 (25:51):
As I do with every political person that comes on
the show or everybody that's running for office, I do
a thing called the final thirty when I asked them,
and it's not on the clock because.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
I'm not good at math, Ryan, so let them do
this to me.
Speaker 6 (26:02):
So now it's everybody. Everybody does it. It's just basically
your final thirty seconds. Why should somebody consider next year
voting for Lisa Odie for Canawh County Board of Education.
Speaker 15 (26:12):
Okay, well, I'm just going to reiterate some of the
points that I made earlier, and that is the fact
that I come from you know, all these experiences that
you know working with kannall County schools. I'm familiar with,
you know, the whole county, all the schools. I also
have this this background in you know, media that will
help when we have like different I don't know press
(26:34):
conferences or anything like that. I'm able to participate in
that also have different ideas. You know, we've got things
going on in education with consolidation with you know, you know,
private schools.
Speaker 14 (26:44):
Hope scholarships.
Speaker 15 (26:45):
I want to take into consideration every single family, every
single student, and every single teacher, teacher and staff member
in Kanall County schools before we make big decisions on
anything that we can control.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
All right, Lisa, appreciate you being here.
Speaker 5 (26:59):
Thanks.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
I hit that Facebook page again.

How you doing, man, Today's the day to be happy
(31:38):
it is. You're looking well, man. Look at you kind
of dapper. He had a court case or something to do.
Speaker 18 (31:44):
I'm going, are you yeah? And one of the things
I'd like to say, I'll say it here. You noticed
when this thing started getting close the appearance of Jared Kushner.
Jered Kushner is the President's son in law, Ivanka's husband,
(32:09):
and he is one sharp cookie. And he put the
Abraham Accords together. He was the one that got u
Ae Bahrain and Morocco will put out Sudan didn't work
to recognize Israel. And he is a gifted, gifted Orthodox Jew.
(32:36):
He's not reformed, he's not a Citic and he is
a gifted guy. And I knew when I saw him there,
when all of a sudden I saw his appearance, when
I saw him in the mix, I knew something was
coming up. That's how talented that guy is.
Speaker 6 (32:57):
And of course, as we speak, the President has been
in the has been over there, and I think, Yah, Netting, Yeah,
who said said something? And I'm very much paraphrasing that
Israel has never had a friend as far as a
president like like Donald Trump.
Speaker 18 (33:15):
I saw that part and then I got I got
I work out between five and six, and I get
back in bed.
Speaker 5 (33:22):
Now I've got a I've got a.
Speaker 18 (33:24):
Phone on my on my screen, so I get in
bed and I tilt the things so I can watch it.
And net and Yaho's speaking and he's getting ready to
introduce Trump.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
And he fell asleep.
Speaker 18 (33:37):
I fell asleep, and I wanted to hear what the
president did say.
Speaker 6 (33:41):
So most people, and I was listening to some experts
on this subject, Danny, when I was driving in this morning.
The morning is most people think that yes, we have
the ceasefire, Yes the hostages have been have been released,
but there there are little most people that are experts
in this part of the world are still a little
and started about.
Speaker 8 (34:00):
To cease fire.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
That that that it.
Speaker 6 (34:02):
I mean, there's gonna be those that are gonna go
along with them, But just like with anything else, you
can't control everyone.
Speaker 18 (34:08):
There are people that are involved in this and one
I'll give you one that's urdle one in Turkey. He
hates Israel and he was part of the peacemaking process,
but he has he has supplied the p l O
with arsenal to do damage to Israel.
Speaker 5 (34:27):
He's no friend of Israel.
Speaker 18 (34:29):
And but I think, I think, I think the biggest
loser in all this is Iran. And just started when
when they killed Sulamani, remember started that, and then just
a few months ago they bombed the UH the nuclear
(34:54):
little yeah, And I believe that they thought this guy
really is it's crazy, and.
Speaker 5 (35:03):
So they buckled.
Speaker 3 (35:06):
How big of a win is this for Donald Trump?
Speaker 18 (35:08):
And big, real big, But nothing's going to be big
if he didn't get the government open, right, I mean,
because I'm on so surety and also give a disability check.
It's not much but from the from the VA. And
if all of a sudden, oh let's start shutting down,
(35:28):
people are going to start blinking.
Speaker 6 (35:30):
Well, he said that he's figured out a way to
fund the military because they're they're due to be paid
on Wednesday. I guess, so he would have to. I
guess get that in today's a holiday, So I'm presuming
that on Tuesday, I mean, they get they got to
work this thing out. But if they're going to get
it worked out, that's not good enough. Whose fault is it,
(35:52):
in your opinion?
Speaker 5 (35:53):
All the Democrats?
Speaker 6 (35:55):
So what he called the governor Governor Morris why referred
to it as the Schumer shut down.
Speaker 18 (35:58):
Well, they could vote for it. There's some stuff in
there they don't like. Now they have an option. The
Republicans have an option. They could you do what the
Democrats did on the judicial picks and just do a
you know, use a nuclear option.
Speaker 6 (36:19):
But you're you're solely placing blame on this on the Democrats.
Speaker 5 (36:23):
I think so.
Speaker 18 (36:27):
I think it's the fact that we don't have people
like Joe there. Of course, we've got Jim Big Jim.
He's there, so he's with us, he's with opening up
the government. But out in Arizona we lost our whatever
her name was, Christen Cinema. Those kind of You got
(36:48):
a few Democrats that will vote for it, right, But
what the Republicans have got to get him? I hate
to sound partisan, folks, I'm not a regi Republican anymore.
But the Republicans, the media is against him. And if
you watch a Sunday Morning shows unless you watch Fox,
(37:11):
and I don't. I watched at ABC.
Speaker 3 (37:14):
I watched it.
Speaker 6 (37:14):
Yesterday's pretty pretty contentious interview with Stephanopolis and the vice president.
Speaker 5 (37:19):
Oh he's so obnoxious.
Speaker 18 (37:22):
I've had dinner with them before. Really, No, when he
was down here and I had my restaurant, you know,
he worked on Sparrow's parking lot, and he came over
to get a sandwich my my resferen.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
Where George Stepanopolis work parking lot. Yeah, okay, he was.
Speaker 18 (37:37):
A little guy and he came over to get a
sandwich at my restaurant, which was where Rusty's law office is.
So but I blame it on the Democrats. They could
open the government.
Speaker 6 (37:55):
That interview, and I mean, I think jd Vance yesterday
must have been on every possible show because I'm like,
you always watched the nine o'clock show, and then I'll
catch Meet the Press, you know sometimes, or I'll catch
I catch a Star Walt, you know at ten on
News Nation, and I'll kind flip around little bit. But
I think he was on every every possible show yesterday
with that interview was Stepanopolis was was very very contentious.
Speaker 5 (38:20):
I can't think.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
I can't think of a better, a better way.
Speaker 5 (38:22):
To put it off.
Speaker 18 (38:23):
At the end, he wanted to keep talking and stepping
up with cut him off, and he wouldn't have done
that device President of the Harris. But I understand about
the Medicaid and the medicare no. As a matter of fact,
(38:44):
I don't understand. I need to learn more about it.
And there's nowhere to go to get the truth about
that's sadly, you're right, if if is it gonna eviscerate
all that stuff. I mean, well, there's nowhere that there's
nowhere that you can go to get the truth.
Speaker 6 (39:03):
And look, I could be discovered to be totally wrong
twenty four hours from now. But I don't think this
thing's ending anytime soon. I mean I could come in
here tomorrow and start the show, go well I was wrong,
but I don't.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
I don't think something.
Speaker 18 (39:15):
Well, I hope you are, but I don't think so.
And you know, Trump's riding pretty high right now, and
but the press is gonna bring him down. It's gonna
last about a It's gonna last about a day. It's
a day or two. I was up at the gym
the first time I had my headphones off. I was
(39:36):
listening to the Fox News, and then I would look
at CNN and look at MSNBC. They were all ice
and yeah and the shutdown and it depends on who
you know.
Speaker 6 (39:51):
Yeah, and that's and it's really unfortunate because there is
it with with the national news be it and n
be it, Fox News whatever, there's I'm a NewsNation guy,
and I've always I like news Nation, okay, but it
just seems to me that there is I mean, and
I long for the old days. I really don't remember
(40:12):
Cronkite as much as what you do, but I remember
him being on.
Speaker 5 (40:17):
Uh he went three.
Speaker 6 (40:18):
Yeah, I think it was eighty one. I think it
was eighty one. I think it was eighty one, but
same general time frame. You're right about that. And I
just remember this is the news and now it's you know,
I mean, go to any comment section of any page
and listen to people say things like, well, turn off CNN,
will turn off Fox News and whatever.
Speaker 3 (40:40):
So it's out there.

Speaker 6 (41:23):
Text says Notice how many Arab nation flags are white, red, black,
and green. Those four colors coincidentally are the same colors
as the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. White represents purity, peace,
or honor, but correlates with the white horse, which symbolizes deceptive,
piece or conquest. Red represents blood, sacrifice, and couragement, correlates
with the red horse, which represents war. Black represents mourning
(41:46):
and correlates with the black horse, which represents famine and
economic hardship. Green represents life and land. It relates to
the death as the pale horse, which in Greek translates
to pale greenish color indicates disease in the cay.
Speaker 18 (41:57):
Hey, I'll tell you what I look for in that, Okay,
Saudi Arabia to establish relations with Israel, that would be something.
Speaker 5 (42:07):
Well, I think that was.
Speaker 18 (42:08):
They were getting close until the October seventh thing. And

dislike him.

then why would it need additional subsidies to make it affordable.
That's just it. Wait, let me finish. That's just it. It's
the Unaffordable Care Act and has been a failure since
it started. It's why Democrats are raising so much sand
over it.
Speaker 18 (42:36):
But it's always had subsidies. That was part of us. Yeah,
it's always had subsidies. And that was the problem is
it's between the unions and the Republicans. They stripped away
the taxes that paid for it. The unions they had
those Cadillac healthcare plans and they were supposed to chip
(42:59):
in to help pay because they had such good health,
and no, we're not doing that. So they stripped that.
And then the Republicans, you know, the taxes that were
paying for it, they stripped that.
Speaker 3 (43:09):
Out of it.
Speaker 6 (43:11):
Tex says that Dave Trump's America is for sale. Muslim
countries are taking him up on the deal. Just allowed
Cutter to put a training facility at an air Force
base in Idaho. This is for the plane they gave him,

the restaurant.
Speaker 18 (43:27):

estate stuff here and I was just about ready to
leave office, and I was They had their lobbyists.

If Trump wants to confiscate guns from people he wants to,
ain't gonna happen.

Speaker 6 (44:02):
Tex says it wasn't Trump that got the cease fire,
it was the pressure from the public and the media
that showed the children getting killed by thousands. Trump had
pressure from these people. His approval hit rock bottom.
Speaker 5 (44:12):
Well, they're just wrong, all right. It was it was

Texas King Jeffery's little meltdown at Mike Lawler shows just
how fragile democrats' egos actually are. When they have no
solutions to problems they created, they lose it. They're still
desperate now, and they really have reached the it's perfectly fine,
acceptable and even defend it to kill your opponent's phase
of rules for radicals.
Speaker 18 (49:03):
I saw that, you know, because he's pretty cool. He's
pretty cool. Yeah, pretty cool guy, I mean, the speaker.
And Mike Lawler is vulnerable because Felton, New York.
Speaker 3 (49:17):

He was really.
Speaker 3 (51:47):
Why why wasn't he?
Speaker 6 (51:48):
I mean, we know the trouble he got in, but
