tens of winning.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
But bu up, I am bad and ain't a lot.
Speaker 4 (00:26):
Bad wound the many hours. Look there with the dog
you sleek me stup.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Welcome to the thrill Out from the Heart.
Speaker 4 (00:36):
That's Sheilliam, West Virginia. Here's your host, Hollywood Chef Petty. Welcome,
ladies and gentlemen to the grill Outs. I'm your host,
Hollywood Jeff Petty, episode ninety two, and I'm joined here
with my lovely, lovely, lovely co hosts, both of them.
(00:59):
First off, Jason Likens the reflection of perfection.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Ladies and gentlemen, I have an announcement. I'm currently in
the midst of working on, in my opinion, a list
of the one hundred greatest technical wrestlers of all time, Josh,
Jeff listeners. I need your help. I have recently been
diagnosed with ADHD and attentive. I don't know if you
(01:24):
could believe that, but it has been hard for me
to focus on things, so I need you all to
remind me to release the list fair so please, when
you get a chance, tell me to release the list.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
Yes, when you message us to ask if somebody is
or is not Ultimate Dragon, just make sure you remind Jason,
because we do let him know what happens on yes
Facebook page.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Yes, well, there are times that I am also on
the Facebook page.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
Yes, yes, yes there are. There's been a couple times
Jay has posted stuff. Our main person that does post
on our Facebook page and handles our socials is one
Josh Cole, Babe, So I'm gonna need.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
You to release that list.
Speaker 5 (02:10):
That you sound pretty defeated, Jeff, just like you're going
to be beat at SummerSlam by the real champion.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Thank you, Josh.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
Yeah, oh nice, nice nice.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Well, I'm thanking him for reminding me to release the list.
So in two weeks time, I'm planning on releasing the list, Okay,
two weeks Who made the list? Listen? There are names
on this list that will shock you, okay, and it
is a fair list. I have individuals from multiple generations
(02:45):
on the list, and I believe in two weeks time,
when I release the list, you will be shocked to
see who is on it. You just made the list exactly, Yep.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
Exactly. So one thing that did trror this past week
on Netflix. WWE Unreal, It's unreal. Yes. It premiered on
July twenty ninth. The series follows various WWE personalities, from
Cmpunk and John Sena to Triple H and the creative team.
There are five episodes in totals, starting with the lead
(03:19):
up to the to Monday Night Rawls debut on Netflix
and finishing with WrestleMania forty one. The series also follows
the behind the scenes of the Sena hillturn, wrestler's returning
from injury, and a sneak peek into the writer's room
for the Royal Rumble. In fact, it shows a clip
where most of the room goes for Punk to win
(03:40):
the rumble, with a few John Cena's sprinkled in there,
but ultimately Michael Hayes throws out jay Uso because he
is quote hot at the moment, and Triple H decides
to go for j Uso, which kind of shows that
Triple H at times is listening to the minority in
the room, not the majority in the room.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
I don't know, is Michael Hayes. Is Michael ps Hayes
out of touch?
Speaker 4 (04:05):
Now?
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (04:07):
You think so, yeah, yeah, I think.
Speaker 5 (04:11):
He's also the reason seeing Punk did not win the
Triple Threat hmmm, because uh yeah they were triple ah
and all of them were for Punk and then he's.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Like, no, may we should go this way.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
So why I wonder why there is so much like
Michael Hayes has so. I mean, I know he's been
there for years, he's been in creative for years for
WWE like and this, but there's a new person sitting
at the head of the table. It's not Vince anymore.
It's Triple h What is called? Why does Michael Hayes
have that kind of pull? I don't know where he
(04:46):
can just kind of say that, say one thing completely
opposite to everybody in the room, and they're gonna go
for that, because and Jason has been very vocal about
Jay Usso winning the Royal Rumble and going on to
win at WrestleMania and how lackluster it has been.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yes, because again, you're just chasing a pop. It's just
because a person is over with a catchphrase doesn't mean
they are over in the ring.
Speaker 5 (05:11):
Which is interesting because after that they saw jos Who
messing up, and so Tripp was like, hey, if you
don't get this together, we're going to go the other way.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
Mmm okay and help that.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Yeah, yeah, I mean it.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
It's it's like, so there's a there's an old story
this involves like this involved Stone Colach, Steve, Austin, and Vince.
So it's like back in the late nineties, early two
thousands and Austin's back in Gorilla and he can't remember
who it was that went out there. He got a
good pop, good reaction from the crowd, and he looked
(05:48):
at Nancy go like, oh, okay, you got a got
a pretty good pop out of that, and Vince's like, yeah,
I really hope he gets over m It's like that,
right there is the difference that right there shows the
difference and that isn't me like singing not really singing
the praises of Vince, but I also shows sort of
the little difference between Vince and Triple H. Also, this
(06:10):
was Vince long before he started to really get all
over the place with his booking.
Speaker 5 (06:18):
One thing that didn't quite show is Michael Hayes like
convincing them for JA. So it would have been interesting
to see that conversation and like how they decided.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
You know, Okay, we're gonna go with Jay.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
Yeah, And I did hear that apparently like with this
and I think this is coming from Dave Meltzer, that
WWE unreal is they've put it together in a way
to make Triple H look like Dana White for the UFC. No,
I don't know how true that is. That's just what
(06:48):
some of the rumblings are about it. I don't Yeah,
that's all I got at that moment with that.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Yeah, but is that a good move?
Speaker 4 (06:58):
No? No again, not singing in Vince's praises, But Vince
was not even if even though Vince got into the ring,
made himself into a character and stuff against his dad's wishes,
his dad told him never to get into the ring,
never to get involved with the wrestlers. He did that,
but you can say Vince never made it to where
(07:19):
it was one hundred percent about himself. Yeah, like he
kind of was smart enough to know not. I mean,
it's it's it's like it's like the the old It's
like a independent promotion where the booker is also the
wrestler but also the champion. Like, you don't you don't
want to go down that route, not not to say
that that Triple A's going to slap the bet on him,
(07:39):
but yeah, I.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Mean so much so events he didn't want people thinking
him aout the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
Yeah, like that's it's And I think that right there
just illustrates the the stark difference between the two. I
have not watched. I've watched bits and pieces. I have
not watched Unreal all the way through, so I can't
give my full thoughts on it. Just I know that
there was the clip that Josh sent both of us
about them in the writer's room, which I thought was
(08:04):
very interesting.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
Well, wasn't there also a clip where they were talking
about the women the Women's Rumble, and there was one
writer who wanted Chelsea I believe it was Chelsea Green
to be the thirtieth entrance.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
So yeah, the idea was that basically the last two
people before Chelsea were in the ring, they did a
double elimination, so Chelsea comes out automatically wins.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Yeah. I think it would have been brilliant.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
Yeah, it was just a random idea he had. It
wasn't like a serious one.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
But yeah, I think I think maybe if because it
wasn't that around the time, did Chelsea. Did she have
the US title then yeah, okay, so maybe I mean, okay,
I was gonna say with with that in mind, like
I guess if she didn't have that going on, that
may carry more weight. But since she had the whole
United States title gimmick going on, like kind of let
(08:56):
her do that for.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
A little long well, but it also would have been
something that is different like it it never would have
It hasn't happened previously. It's something that would have been
unique to the situation. Yeah, because it's always that Okay,
well what character Yeah, well yeah, I mean that would
have been the most Chelsea way of her winning. You know,
(09:18):
but what happens if everyone before thirty is eliminated? You
know what what happens if everyone's eliminated before the countdown
starts happening, Like do you still wait for the timer
or do you just send the next person out?
Speaker 4 (09:34):
Or as as her music is starting, that's when they
go over the ropes and eliminate themselves. Like doesn't even
make it to the ring prety much goes to the
ring wins all that's like like and you even have
the announcers, the comminators say all she has to do
is make it to the ring and she wins now
because there's no other competitors for her. I think also
(09:55):
that would be a breath of fresh air. Yeah, like
another like a an original idea that you don't see
very often these days, because like if you watch any promotion,
not just WWE, but you watch any promotion enough, you
start to notice their booking tendencies. Like we talked off
the air about WWE has a bad habit even now
(10:20):
of booking the loser strongly going into the on the
going into the pay per view pl Like, they have
a bad habit of doing that.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
You know. I'll tell you who I would have loved
to have seen this happen to, because I think it
would have been the one way to give her a
royal rumble win and it would have just been amazing. Okay,
So you have let's say, competitors twenty eight and twenty
nine in the ring. You have trishan lieda okay, okay,
(10:50):
and they're going at it. They go over the top,
they both go out both feet, you know, all four
feet have hit the floor. So you have j R.
And you have Jerry Lawler really talking it up like
who's it going to be who's winning the Rumble and
then May Young's music gets so then May Young comes
(11:12):
out and she has won the Women's Royal Rumble, and.
Speaker 4 (11:17):
Then Bubba comes out in Power Popps.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
Yes, but I mean, come on, how great would it
would it have been to be able to say May
Young won a Women's Royal Rumble? I mean you could
do the same thing with the men. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Yeah, I thought at first you were going to go
like for some reason, my origin my brain originally went
to Santino.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
Oh okay, yeah, No, I mean I think it's it's
funnier when Santino loses true true.
Speaker 4 (11:45):
Like the it gets into the ring immediately gets like
I wasn't ready. Yeah, I wasn't ready.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Yeah, like it. But also with Jay winning the Rumble,
if you had him lose you, they could have built
up the story like they did with Cody, Because again,
as I've said numerous times, the story when it comes
to championships in my mind is what will the he'll
do to retain it? And what is the journey the
babyface has to go on to get it? No?
Speaker 4 (12:15):
Okay, so would you have been more open to jbing champion?
Like what you're saying he wins the rumble, he goes
and he loses, and then he has to chase it
for the next year.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
No, I don't think he should have won the rumble
at all. Well, you know, not at all. No, Okay, no,
I think But if.
Speaker 4 (12:33):
He would have won, would you have been okay with
that with that them taking that round instead of just
slapping the title on them at Mania?
Speaker 2 (12:42):
Probably not, because again I don't think his en ring
work is as crisp as other people's fair you know,
I think he needs more time as a singles wrestler
because I still see him as a tag team wrestler.
That's where he, in my opinion, should be.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
I mean he too, because he's just kind of lost
right now.
Speaker 4 (13:06):
Yeah, he's really not doing anything.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
He got the sty tala Tonga that's true.
Speaker 4 (13:11):
Yeah, taladaga Talatonga knights.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
Yeah, yep.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
Still great, yep. Okay, so real quick, before we wrap this,
before we wrapore.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Before we have a question. Yeah, I want to hear it.
I'm sorry, Jeff, I'm cutting you off.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Okay, get cut off. So you mentioned Bubba Ray Dudley.
Speaker 5 (13:28):
There's been a lot of discourse online about this unreal
document somewhere like this is the worst thing for the
business that exposes way too much.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
And I was getting ready to the question like what
y'all thought about it? But go ahead lead in with that.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (13:40):
Like, to me, I find this very interesting, like people
are trying to protect us as a secrets. Like people
have known about this for decades now they wrestling news
sites talk about this like almost every day, But now
that ww puts it on a show, now they're mad,
like you already know.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Why do you care so much?
Speaker 5 (13:57):
If you care so much what you don't have to
watch it's true, And people think it takes away the magic.
It's like, no, to me, it's the same thing as
like watching behind the scenes of a movie. It's interesting
to see how it's actually made.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
And also like sports writers quit reporting match results for
professional wrestling decades ago. Yeah, Like I think back in
the forties or fifties they stopped. I think it was
the fifties they stopped reporting them because like it was
like one of those open secrets, like everybody kind of knew,
but they didn't. Yeah, you know, like nobody really knew
(14:30):
until like fully until like Vince was like I'm tired
of paying these athletic commissions. We are not an athletic league.
We are an entertainment company.
Speaker 5 (14:40):
I guess the question is like, what are your all's
opinions of the show, Like do you think it's a
good idea or do you think it's fine.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
I mean, I can definitely see both sides of the
coin here, But I think where where it starts to
be an issue is you can definitely see some people
with more of an outdated mindsetet exposed to some people. Yes,
if if you are, if one of the big things
(15:07):
that you're pushing about going to Netflix is not having
to have a time limit, then you don't need to
tell people that they're going long when they're having a
great match. If the crowd is into it, you use it.
You use your time.
Speaker 4 (15:21):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
If the crowd, oh, I'm sorry, go ahead.
Speaker 5 (15:23):
I was gonna say, according to Bruce Pritchard, people thought
they didn't have a time and apparently they do. I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
I mean, I'm sure they can't go all night, no,
but I mean that's one of the reasons why they
were talking about Netflix, is you know there's no set timeline.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Like a hard cut off.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
Yeah, like there might be a soft ending that they want,
like a soft time, but I'm sure if they go
over that, it's not going it's not gonna be like
like with network television, like oh okay, now we've got
to push this programming back because you guys are going over,
or you got to cut your feet off because we
have to get to this next thing.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
They don't have that on Netflix. No, exactly, at least
not right now.
Speaker 4 (16:00):
I don't gonna say as far as I know, like,
isn't WWE the only streamed thing on Netflix weekly?
Speaker 5 (16:06):
Yes, they occasionally do, like maybe something once a month,
but other than that.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
There is the I think Jake Paul, Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (16:13):
I've had some comedy specials too, Okay, so I don't
I'm kind of I'm I'm kind of with both of
you on this.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
Like, I think that it is interesting to see how
this unfolds, how this is put together. That may also
not be so much from an aspect of a well
that I think that does come from some of an
aspect of a lifelong wrestling fan, but also somebody who
has worked in production. Just to see how some of
it's pieced together is is interesting to me. But I
(16:45):
definitely see what you're saying, Jason. Where it does it
does expose some people and show how out of touch
they are or how they actually are behind the scenes.
Like it can't. It's a double edged sword.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
Really, I find it funny.
Speaker 5 (16:59):
Bully Ray, Bubba Ray, whatever you want to call him.
He doesn't like the show, but he has a podcast
where he's basically talking about this stuff like every day,
and he's on WWE LG, which kind of also goes
behind his scenes as well.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
Yeah, so what if?
Speaker 2 (17:14):
What if? With WWE Unreal there is a separate writer's
room for the writer's room, and all of it's just staged.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
Part of it is I was gonna say, I've heard
about some of that.
Speaker 5 (17:26):
Like Charlotte winning to Rumble, Apparently they told the women
in the locker room just to go out and celebrate.
They didn't tell them what it was for, but apparently
that was actually stage for this documentary. Not not every
single thing was like that, but that's just kind of
an example of some of it being staged.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
Well, and actually reality TV in general is sort of
like that.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Well, I mean, there's no sort of to it. If
it's reality TV, why do you need writers?
Speaker 4 (17:52):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Oh, wait, I'm sorry. If it's reality TV, why do
you need writers for it?
Speaker 4 (17:57):
Huh?
Speaker 2 (17:57):
Yeah, why do you need writers for reality?
Speaker 4 (18:02):
I think the only reality TV show I can think
of that was mainly reality and not predetermined air quotes
was The Osbournes.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
What about Hogan knows best?
Speaker 2 (18:18):
Let me tell you about Hack Hogan.
Speaker 4 (18:22):
Uh huh?
Speaker 1 (18:24):
What does the bat do you think about taxidermy?
Speaker 2 (18:27):
Here's what I think about taxidermy. Okay, because I've got
a pack of wild dogs. There's about fifty wild dogs
down in the Baja that all make me. You know,
they view me as their leader. They view me as
their leader down in the Baja. Fifty wild dogs through
(18:47):
Alice Laka, And that's why Chuck E. Cheese is behind
the glass doors of Area fifty one. Thank you, Thank
you for the insight. Batty, You're welcome.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Yeah, I'm sure that we went about four and a
half hours on that.
Speaker 4 (19:04):
It's okaymation, it's okay. We can get it in post.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
We're gonna go grab a juice Baux and take me
a nap nap.
Speaker 4 (19:11):
Okay, all right, real quick, before we do get to
on this day in wrestling history, WWE Speed is possibly canceled.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
Oh No No.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
Ww WE Speed, a weekly series on X aka Twitter
that features three minute matches or five minutes for the
title matches, has not aired any new episode since July ninth,
which has raised questions about its future. Two various news
sites are believing it has been quietly canceled, but WWE
nor X have made any comments on the status of
(19:44):
the show.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
Who's speculating this, Who's watching it?
Speaker 4 (19:47):
And both El Grande Americano and soul Ruka are still
listed as the reigning men and Women's Speed champions. Dave
Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer newsletter noted that WWE has
have not been taping any new episodes, and when he
tried to inquire about the status of the show through
his WWE sources, no one knew anything. WWE Speed launched
(20:09):
in April twenty twenty four and was on a two
year deal with X and had averaged about a million
viewers per episode.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
Okay, let me ask you all this. Did you ever
watch it? Nope?
Speaker 1 (20:19):
I've seen clips.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
Okay, but you you never watched it? Can you guarantee
that it was from that? Like, without a shadow of
a doubt? I don't know, so I don't think the
show ever existed, Like there's there's no I know they
said there was a show, but I don't know of
a show, so I don't think there was.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
Grand Americano is fake.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
No, that's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is
we're focusing on the wrong thing here. Okay, you all
are talking about a show, but there wasn't a show. Okay,
you you can talk about the show. But I think
what we really need to be talking about right now
is the fact that AJ Style is hinted at retirement.
Speaker 4 (21:02):
Yes, we did on the list?
Speaker 2 (21:06):
What list?
Speaker 1 (21:08):
The list?
Speaker 4 (21:10):
All? The one that I'm releasing in two weeks, Yes,
in two weeks time.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
Well we'll find out. Yes, we'll find out in two
weeks who's on that list? At going to release the list.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
At a Summer Slam kickoff event, AJ Styles was asked
by Michael Cole how important his upcoming match against Dominic
Masseiro is to him, considering that Styles has not held
the Intercontinental Championship in five years and he is getting older.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
Well, that's usually how it works, Michael Cole. In five years,
you get older, you don't get younger.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
It. Styles says that his SummerSlam might be his last
and that he is going to bring the house down.
Note that Styles has stated that he wants to retire
before he hits fifty. He just turned forty eight this
past June.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
You see, that's why we're not talking about speed.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
No, he's he's I mean, he has kind of lost
a step, but that happens.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Yeah, I mean he's forty eight years old.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
Yeah, kind of kind of kind of happens, yeah, kind
kind of does happen. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
Good lady.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Yeah, So real quick before we get to on this
day in wrestling history, quick update for the G one kmaks.
At the time of recording, there are nine events left
in the G one Climax this ecudes. This includes the finals,
semi finals, and the playoffs. The standings go as follows.
Block a Yo Tasuji with eight points, yu Yo Yo
(22:30):
Mora eight points, with eight points, Taichi with six, Bolton
O leg with six, a riohe Owa I am messing
that up with Callum Newman with six, Hiroshi tana Hashi
with four, David Finley with four, and Sonata with four.
(22:51):
B Blocked Yoshi Yoshi Hashi with eight points that shocks
me a little bit. Yeah, Yoshi Hashi of all People,
brand Narita with eight, shows Umino with eight, Zach Saber
Junior with eight eight eight, Canotski Taquesta with eight, Drilla
Maloney with eight, Great o'conn with eight, and Shingo Takaki
with six. El Fantasmo has four, and of course gave
(23:13):
Kid with zero because he has forfeited his entire tournament.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
The Coward Yes.
Speaker 4 (23:17):
The g One Climax will end on August seventeenth. The
final three nights will consist of the finals, semi finals,
and a playoff. The playoff is where the top three
from the respective blocks advanced to a six person playoff,
with the block winners earning a bye to the semi finals,
leaving the second and third place competitors to compete for
a spot in the semi final. The winner advances there
(23:39):
and faces the block winner. The winners of those respective
matches advance to the finals to crown the winner of
the g One Climax.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
Thirty five.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
On this day in wrestling history, August third, nineteen ninety six,
Doctor Death Steve Williams made his ECW debut at the
aptly named The Doctor Is In Show held at the
(24:09):
ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On the show, Taz and
Brian Lee defeated Williams and his partner Tommy Dreamer. In
the Knight's main event, Sabu defeated Rob Van dam in
a stretcher match. And that's everything for that one one.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Well, you really ended that abruptly.
Speaker 4 (24:26):
I did, I did. I don't know why they ended.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
And the Knight's main event, Saboo defeated Rob band Damn
in a stretcher match. Yep, okay, that's it. In nineteen
ninety seven.
Speaker 4 (24:36):
August third, nineteen ninety seven, WWF SummerSlam took place at
the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The
main event saw Brett the hit Man Heart defeat The
Undertaker for the WWF Championship. However, the event is best
known for being the night when Stone Cold Steve Austin
suffered a career altering broken neck at the hands of
a botched Owen Hart Tombstone pile driver which it really
(24:59):
was tombstone powder rivers.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
I sit down, powder, sit up powder.
Speaker 4 (25:02):
Yes, Austin managed to finish the match of a fashion
and win the Intercontinental title.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Did he make the list?
Speaker 2 (25:10):
Maybe two weeks time. We will release the list.
Speaker 4 (25:15):
Possibly August third, twenty twenty. On an episode of Monday
Night Raw from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida,
which was during the COVID Era with the No Fans,
Shane McMahon made his return to the company as the
central figure in the debut and raw Underground format that
saw several wrestlers compete in a fight club style setting.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
Here's the best thing about that. I don't know if
people remember, you know, during the covid Era, but when
Shane McMahon made his return, he actually surfed down on
a surfboard of riding his own sweat.
Speaker 4 (25:48):
He is a very sweaty man, very sweaty, very sweaty.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Very sweaty. Two weeks time, releasing the list.
Speaker 4 (25:53):
Two weeks time, fourteen days. We're gonna take a quick break,
and when we come back, we have SummerSlam predictions night
to stay tuned. It's not here, Hollywood, Jeff Petty, Welcome
rel Welcome back to ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
I'm your host, Hollywood, Jeff. What is not unreal, though,
is in two weeks time I will be releasing the list.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
Last Yes, yes, he will be Jason Likins The Reflection
of Perfection.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
I am not on that list.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
Doctor, doctor Jason. No, you are not one of the
greatest technical wrestlers of all time. Yeah. I can adamantly
say that Josh Cole is not on that list.
Speaker 4 (26:38):
You could probably say that, like all three of us
are not on that list.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
I was pretty technical, Yeah, I mean I I was
a wrestler.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
Yeah, that's true, that is very true. You did do
some amateur wrestling. I did you know he was about
the pretzels.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
I do. I like pretzels. God, I want a pretzel on.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
That pretzels cheese. Anyway, Summer Slim Night two is to
night I'm here too. We also, we don't we don't
have the results for night one because of the time
that we are recording this recording.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Saturday. Yeah you okay, two weeks time, releasing the list.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
Two weeks time. All right, So we have six matches,
six six matches six uh for four six.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
Six matches, but five predictions because we already did one.
Speaker 4 (27:28):
That's that's true. We can go ahead and give them
an update on that.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Yes, I'm sure they are dying to know yes, yeah,
we already gave our predictions on It's it's on the
previous nights, the previous episodes.
Speaker 4 (27:41):
Rundown, It's on there. Yeah, yeah, we have proof. Actually,
Adam Harris was pretty, uh, pretty impressed that we write
everything down. I don't know why, but we do write
everything down.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
Jesus.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
We already gave our predictions. Like what I said, it
was not confirmed, which but it is in fact one
night two. Just to reiterate our picks. The match is
as follows. Oh boy, yeah, the Wyatt Six, Dexter Loomis
and Joe Gacy will be defending their WWE Tag team
titles in a six pack tables, ladders and chairs match
against Andrade and Ray Finnix versus Di Win, Johnny Gargano
(28:20):
and Tamasa Champa, Phraxium, Axiom and Nathan Fraser, The MotorCity
Machine Guns, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin versus The Street Profits,
Angelo Dawkins and Montese Ford in a six pack tables,
leaders and chairs match. Josh and Jason both went with
the Wyatt Six.
Speaker 7 (28:39):
I went with d I Wyhi, What do you think
there's a better tag team partner for Ray Finnix than Ondrade, what.
Speaker 4 (28:49):
Like his brother what?
Speaker 1 (28:51):
Maybe?
Speaker 2 (28:52):
Yeah? Like Panta what?
Speaker 1 (28:53):
I don't know. El Grande sounds.
Speaker 2 (28:55):
Pretty good, that's true.
Speaker 4 (28:56):
I mean nowand does there are three of them? It's okay,
it is a okay. So yeah, we got five matches
to pick from. First match, Solo Soko will be defending
his United States Championship in a steel cage match against
Jacob fought Too Josh.
Speaker 5 (29:18):
Uh, Solo did just win the title month good Night
of champions. Yeah, but it's Jacob fat Tou but still
now has Talatanga.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
He's he's tall Talatanga Knights.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
Yeah, you know, more like tall.
Speaker 5 (29:33):
Yeah, I m I.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
I think they're going to go with fau.
Speaker 5 (29:40):
I just I don't see Sical beating him again inside
of steel cage.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
I mean tall, it could probably just walk over to cage.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
But you know, here's the thing, I'm gonna have to
agree with you, Josh. I'm not happy about it, but
I do think it's gonna be Jacob fat too, because
I'm thinking what's gonna happen is a tall one Tonga
is gonna step over and as he's getting in the ring,
he's gonna trip fall, bump, his head. Humpty dumpty can't
get put back together. So that's what's gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
You know, I don't know how you're gonna pick Solo
Sakoa in this. I know he just won the title,
but let's be honest. Do you want to be stuck
in the still cage with Jacob Flatu?
Speaker 1 (30:23):
No?
Speaker 4 (30:24):
No, no, I don't. I don't want to ever be
on Jacob Fatu's bat sets. I'm gonna go Jacob far two.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
Next match. We talked about this briefly in the previous segment.
Dominic Mysterio will be defending his Intercontinental title against aj
Styles Josh.
Speaker 5 (30:45):
I mean, if it is Style's last Summer Slam, you'd
want him to go out big on his last Summer Slam.
But I don't really think it's gonna be his last
Summer Slim because this it's just not gonna be his
last Summer Slam because he made the list.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
We'll find out in two weeks time who's on the list. Yeah,
when I release it.
Speaker 5 (31:02):
But there's also a possibility that WWE might want to
put the Triple A Mega Championship on Mysteriu, mak him
a double champion.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
Do it mysterio.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
Mysteriok, Jason, I'm gonna have to go with mysterio. I
don't think this will be aj styles last Summer Slam.
I think he'll at least have another one because if
he retires now, it's going to be overshadowed by everyone else.
Speaker 4 (31:26):
That's that's true. And also I know he's been talking
about it. He's been pretty open openly talking about retirement,
but him outright saying that this is possibly his last
Summer Slam does seem like it's coming out of left field.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
It's more just to the story.
Speaker 4 (31:41):
Yeah, I think maybe they it is. There is sort
of some k.
Speaker 8 (31:44):
FA to it, because the WWE's official YouTube page posted
him stating that and them stating that this is you know,
this is what this maybe Styles's last Summer Slam or whatever.
That's actually where I went to see him say it,
so I can, you know, confirm it, but I'm going
to have to go mystereo.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
Yeah, I think if aj Styles retires, he's probably gonna
try to find the end of the world, that's true.
The edge, the edge of yes, the edge of the world. Well,
I think it's the cope of the world now.
Speaker 4 (32:18):
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
Yeah, two weeks releasing the list.
Speaker 4 (32:24):
Becky Lynch defending her ww Women's inter Continental Championship and
the last Chance match. If Lynch wins, Valkyria can no
longer challenge for the title as long as Lynch is champion.
Speaker 5 (32:38):
Josh, it'd be great for Labor Vaceria to get this
win back. Big win for her Summer Slam. It's huge,
biggest Summer Slam ever. But I think there's gonna be
some Bailey Shenanigans. She's not on this card, sadly, but
I think this is how she's gonna be on the card.
She's going to cost Vacia because she is the one
who prevented her from being in this match.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Becky Lynch, here's.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
What I think, Jesus, it's gonna.
Speaker 3 (33:06):
Be Valkia, big leest show for the w w U. E.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
Where's my friend? Can't see him standing right next to me.
Gonna go Valkia. Yes, Yes, Valkyria.
Speaker 4 (33:30):
All that lade up for Valkyria.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
Yeah, we talked.
Speaker 4 (33:36):
We talked the last segment about WWE's booking tendencies and
making the loser in a given match look stronger going
into the show. They do have a habit of doing that. Yes,
Liar Valkyria really just whooped up on Becky Lynch. So
(34:04):
with that being said, and with them making her look
stronger before the ple e, I'm gonna have to go Lynch. Yeah,
that's just I Just like I said, if you watch
a promotion, no matter even if it's not if it's
not WWE, whatever, any promotion, you will start to see
that Booker's booking tendencies.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
Like Booker t Yes, can you dig it?
Speaker 4 (34:27):
Sucker?
Speaker 2 (34:28):
Yeah? Yes.
Speaker 4 (34:29):
Triple threat match for the Women's World Championship. Naomi will
be defending her title against Rhea Ripley.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
Jeff prove It.
Speaker 4 (34:40):
And EO Sky Josh, who do you got?
Speaker 1 (34:47):
This could have been a Michael Hayes. Hey, we gotta
put the title on Naomi.
Speaker 5 (34:50):
She's got a lot of lot going on, you know,
this new gimmick, which actually I kind of like the
new gimmick I think.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
Yeah, the caution tape, Yeah yeah, I like your character
the best. Now it's everything.
Speaker 5 (35:00):
Anyways, she just got the title, big money, big cash,
and I could see Rio Ripley winners.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
I could see us guy, I could see Ripley more so.
But I'm gonna Naomi. I don't think they're gonna.
Speaker 5 (35:12):
Take it offered as soon, although Ripley and stepping about
Kerr will be a better match of Clash and Castle
or even.
Speaker 2 (35:16):
A US guy.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
Here's the thing, baby, it seemed like anybody going to
be a better match than Naomi. So here's what I'm
thinking is gonna happen. I think what's gonna happen here?
Speaker 2 (35:28):
Baby?
Speaker 3 (35:28):
If Naomi is gonna win? And why if Naomi gonna win, baby,
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (35:37):
I guess it should be clarified whoever wins this is
defending the title again.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
Stepping about Kerry clash in Paris later this month.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
If the thing, baby, I don't like going again, mimy
real Ripley, Baby, but I'm going to in this case
when I say it's gonna be Naom likes Taxider me,
Yes she does.
Speaker 1 (35:59):
I gotta go too headed duck.
Speaker 4 (36:02):
I'm probably gonna have to go Naomi myself. Why do
I feel like I feel like it is sort of
a j Uso type situation. Yeah, there's also some of that.
Rea Ripley makes the most sense. Uh. We talked off
the air, Jason said that Ria Ripley is definitely the
(36:25):
bigger drawl between three of us.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
I do believe she is.
Speaker 4 (36:28):
Yes between the three of them, so she makes the
most sense I would I would venture to say that EO.
Sky is the better technical wrestler amongst them. But it
seems like management is wanting to strap the rocket to
Naomi's back and shoot her to the moon with a push.
(36:50):
So that's why I I don't see her dropping the title.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
I mean she could.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
Finally the main event, and there's been some rumors on
the line about this. John Cena will be defending his
undisputed WWE championship in a straight fight against one Cody Road.
Cody Road, if you will, Baby.
Speaker 5 (37:16):
Josh apparently seeing him might be faced now he becuts
a face promo and SmackDown.
Speaker 1 (37:21):
I'm not buying it. Maybe I don't know, we'll see it.
Speaker 2 (37:24):
Seems like you own should in baby.
Speaker 1 (37:26):
Yeah, I'm not sure. Could be a double turn, could
be Rock coming back, Sena.
Speaker 3 (37:32):
You know what I think needs to happen, Baby, I
think Rock needs to come back. Baby on a bythickle, because.
Speaker 4 (37:37):
Way to get that bath thickle? Yeah, he got a bythickle? Baby,
one of them does these greatest calls?
Speaker 2 (37:44):
Yeah? Ever?
Speaker 1 (37:45):
Yes, if a double turn does happen.
Speaker 5 (37:48):
I almost feel like so, I think Seenea is gonna
retain regardless, but I could see the double turn happening.
After the match, Rock comes out Cody, they beat down Sena.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
Why would Rock then side with a losing Cody.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
So that Cody will beat Seena in the retirement match?
Speaker 4 (38:09):
Or or you don't have Rock come out?
Speaker 1 (38:15):
Oh you don't know, Travis Scott.
Speaker 4 (38:17):
No, Travis Scott. Travis Scott's not I hate is the
only platinum rapper here.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
Yes, so who comes out?
Speaker 4 (38:24):
Nobody?
Speaker 2 (38:24):
Nobody comes out? You don't. So it's twenty five. It's okay, Yeah,
I know.
Speaker 4 (38:30):
I will let real quick, I'm gonna throw it to you. Okay,
I'm gonna let you give your pick, and then I'm
gonna give my assumption on all of this.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
Okay, my observation Roads Roads, I'm picking Cody Roads. Yeah, okay,
because the Rock has no use for someone who is
leaving the company. Yeah, and then it will be the
Rock John Cena three.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
Mmmm, That right, babe. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Baby,
I'm making you think now, babytime thrift, Baby thrift thrift.
Speaker 4 (39:09):
It's like rice with with so it's like Survivor series.
Speaker 2 (39:15):
No Baby Wrettlemania.
Speaker 4 (39:17):
But well then they'll be at the Theory, the Baby.
Speaker 1 (39:20):
Or whatever big events in December. That's his retirement, that's right.
Speaker 4 (39:26):
The Christmas Show, Baby, the Christmas Show.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
What is the December two deth member Baby. They're bringing
it back for Death Show Baby. Yeah, maybe Survivor series. Well,
I don't know. I mean it might be after Survivor series.
Maybe they'll do Team Rock Team Sina. Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (39:52):
Yeah, so yes, I'm going to go Sena. But I
don't think a double turn is going to happen. No, well,
I think the start seeing a face now or is
he not? I follow me on this, I don't. I
think there was for a walk down Memory Lane. Sena
(40:17):
with that promo, he did come off as baboo dooo,
as like an act as a face, but it came
off like a heel trying to be a face. He
did this weird little eye wink at Cody exactly. So
I feel like Sena is doing that to Lore Cody
in to eventually beat him Cody, then Cody, then he
(40:46):
loses seen the celebrating He's Scott without Travis Scott, nobody
nobody interferes, not even Flavor.
Speaker 1 (40:56):
Flav who is the guy was seeing it back in
the day.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
Be squared well by Cannon, Yeah, that guy be squared.
Speaker 4 (41:10):
Sena is celebrating and everything. Cody leaves the ring, goes
to the back, bumpy knuckles, bumpy knuckles, Baby, no bad
bad man.
Speaker 1 (41:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (41:24):
Cody goes back and he in whatever way you want to,
either he pulls up in like a limo, or he
just crosses paths with him. He runs in the Rock
and you'll leave it there. You don't say nothing else.
Cody is talking to Cody and the Rock are talking.
Speaker 5 (41:41):
Now.
Speaker 1 (41:43):
I wouldn't have him talking. Just the face off off.
Speaker 4 (41:47):
Exactly, leave it, leave it on a cliffhanger. Sena celebrating
in the ring. Sena, Uh, Cody, the Rock, they just
they're just looking at each other. You see the the
little little trademark at the bottom fade.
Speaker 5 (42:01):
The black or maybe not at SummerSlam, but at the
post event press conference that too.
Speaker 4 (42:06):
Somewhere in there, yeah, somewhere somewhere after the after the match.
I think, uh, I think if you want to get
the most eyes on it, you do it at the show.
You don't do it at the press conference, because not
everybody watches the press conference. You could do it there
and then let social media do what social media does.
Speaker 2 (42:27):
I mean there was the Kevin Owens Cody Rhodes beat
down that.
Speaker 5 (42:31):
That was a cool thing from the document because that
was Tripleh's idea, just to hopefully I have fan caught that.
Speaker 4 (42:36):
Yeah, yeah, which it works. Yeah, you can do that,
but I would rather see it there and then like
have Cody go to the press conference, like like, have
Cody walk into the press conference. He runs in the Rock,
fade the black right there, doesn't like we don't know
what's happening. They're done. We're going to the press conference
(42:57):
where you know, you got the little kickoff like hey,
we're gonna be live and like minutes and then you
see Cody walking on there. He's the first one, and
you get somebody, You find some reporter down there, whether
it's John Ross Sap or whoever. You pull them to
the side like, hey, I went the first question. I
want you to ask the first question, why what was
your conversation with the Rock? What did you just talk
(43:18):
to the Rock about so and he says nothing.
Speaker 2 (43:20):
Do you eventually think that Cody is going to side
with the Rock.
Speaker 4 (43:26):
I think there is signs of that. Cody has mentioned
that his face run sort of is run its course,
it's we've come full circle with it, which might be
him starting to plant the seeds. Get him desperate with that,
with getting the title off of Sena. Keep seeing a
(43:46):
heel for now, but slowly start turning him back to
a face. That way he at least retires as a face.
Speaker 2 (43:52):
Okay, well hear me out. Okay, Okay. Jimmy usso is
doing nothing right yep? Okay. So before the Cody Sena match,
Jimmy us or someone that we don't know.
Speaker 1 (44:08):
Well, I should say Jimmy is sort of helping Fatu
with that.
Speaker 2 (44:11):
Yeah, okay. He he hits John Cena with a car
before the Cody Rhods match. Yep, okay, and Cody Rhodes
is freaking out about this. He's like, Jimmy, why would
you do this? Why would you hit John Cena before
my match? And Jimmy says, I did it.
Speaker 4 (44:30):
For the Rock. For those of you that don't realize,
that's a reference to his dad, Rickishi. Yeah, from back
in ninety nine, Yeah, like late ninety nine.
Speaker 2 (44:45):
Yeah, I'm glad I could take up time from this
valuable show for my Shenanigans.
Speaker 4 (44:51):
It's okay, It's okay, it's we're welcome to two weeks.
Two weeks, all right, real quick to give you a
rundown one hour picks before we go to the main event.
We are Yeah. So for the six pack tables, ladders
and Chairs match for the w for the WWE Tag
Team Championship, Jason and Josh both went with Wyatt six

against Jacob FA two. All three of us went Jacob
FA two. Then Dominic Mysterio will be defending his WWE
Intercontinental Championship against aj Styles. All three of us went
Dominic Mysterio. Becky Lynch will be defending her Women's Intercontinental
(45:34):
Championship in a last chance match. If Lynch wins, Valkyria

Lyra of Valkyria.

Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen to the Grill Out. So
I'm your host, Hollywood, Jeff Patty. That's jasonly Likens. Doctor
Jason Likens, the reflection.
Speaker 2 (50:05):
Thank you. That's the right way to do it. If
you're going to do it, do it right or don't
do it at all. I'm the reflection of perfection, greatness himself,
Doctor Jason Likens. Sitting next to me is the loser.
That is Josh Cole Baybay Who cares about him? Who
cares about Jeff. Everyone wants to know who's on the list.
That's what I want to know. And in two weeks time,
(50:25):
everyone will know who's on the list.
Speaker 4 (50:29):
