Exactly. So one thing that did trror this past week
on Netflix. WWE Unreal, It's unreal. Yes. It premiered on
July twenty ninth. The series follows various WWE personalities, from
Cmpunk and John Sena to Triple H and the creative team.
There are five episodes in totals, starting with the lead

up to the to Monday Night Rawls debut on Netflix
and finishing with WrestleMania forty one. The series also follows
the behind the scenes of the Sena hillturn, wrestler's returning
from injury, and a sneak peek into the writer's room
for the Royal Rumble. In fact, it shows a clip
where most of the room goes for Punk to win

the rumble, with a few John Cena's sprinkled in there,
but ultimately Michael Hayes throws out jay Uso because he
is quote hot at the moment, and Triple H decides
to go for j Uso, which kind of shows that
Triple H at times is listening to the minority in
the room, not the majority in the room.

I don't know, is Michael Hayes. Is Michael ps Hayes
out of touch?

Michael Hayes has so. I mean, I know he's been
there for years, he's been in creative for years for
WWE like and this, but there's a new person sitting
at the head of the table. It's not Vince anymore.
It's Triple h What is called? Why does Michael Hayes
have that kind of pull? I don't know where he

can just kind of say that, say one thing completely
opposite to everybody in the room, and they're gonna go
for that, because and Jason has been very vocal about
Jay Usso winning the Royal Rumble and going on to
win at WrestleMania and how lackluster it has been.

Yes, because again, you're just chasing a pop. It's just
because a person is over with a catchphrase doesn't mean
they are over in the ring.

Which is interesting because after that they saw jos Who
messing up, and so Tripp was like, hey, if you
don't get this together, we're going to go the other way.

It's it's like, so there's a there's an old story
this involves like this involved Stone Colach, Steve, Austin, and Vince.
So it's like back in the late nineties, early two
thousands and Austin's back in Gorilla and he can't remember
who it was that went out there. He got a
good pop, good reaction from the crowd, and he looked

at Nancy go like, oh, okay, you got a got
a pretty good pop out of that, and Vince's like, yeah,
I really hope he gets over m It's like that,
right there is the difference that right there shows the
difference and that isn't me like singing not really singing
the praises of Vince, but I also shows sort of
the little difference between Vince and Triple H. Also, this

was Vince long before he started to really get all
over the place with his booking.

One thing that didn't quite show is Michael Hayes like
convincing them for JA. So it would have been interesting
to see that conversation and like how they decided.

Yeah, And I did hear that apparently like with this
and I think this is coming from Dave Meltzer, that
WWE unreal is they've put it together in a way
to make Triple H look like Dana White for the UFC. No,
I don't know how true that is. That's just what

some of the rumblings are about it. I don't Yeah,
that's all I got at that moment with that.

Yeah, but is that a good move?

No? No again, not singing in Vince's praises, But Vince
was not even if even though Vince got into the ring,
made himself into a character and stuff against his dad's wishes,
his dad told him never to get into the ring,
never to get involved with the wrestlers. He did that,
but you can say Vince never made it to where

it was one hundred percent about himself. Yeah, like he
kind of was smart enough to know not. I mean,
it's it's it's like it's like the the old It's
like a independent promotion where the booker is also the
wrestler but also the champion. Like, you don't you don't
want to go down that route, not not to say
that that Triple A's going to slap the bet on him,

Mean so much so events he didn't want people thinking
him aout the Hall of Fame.

Yeah, like that's it's And I think that right there
just illustrates the the stark difference between the two. I
have not watched. I've watched bits and pieces. I have
not watched Unreal all the way through, so I can't
give my full thoughts on it. Just I know that
there was the clip that Josh sent both of us
about them in the writer's room, which I thought was

very interesting.

Well, wasn't there also a clip where they were talking
about the women the Women's Rumble, and there was one
writer who wanted Chelsea I believe it was Chelsea Green
to be the thirtieth entrance.

So yeah, the idea was that basically the last two
people before Chelsea were in the ring, they did a
double elimination, so Chelsea comes out automatically wins.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Yeah. I think it would have been brilliant.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
Yeah, it was just a random idea he had. It
wasn't like a serious one.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
But yeah, I think I think maybe if because it
wasn't that around the time, did Chelsea. Did she have
the US title then yeah, okay, so maybe I mean, okay,
I was gonna say with with that in mind, like
I guess if she didn't have that going on, that
may carry more weight. But since she had the whole
United States title gimmick going on, like kind of let

her do that for.

A little long well, but it also would have been
something that is different like it it never would have
It hasn't happened previously. It's something that would have been
unique to the situation. Yeah, because it's always that Okay,
well what character Yeah, well yeah, I mean that would
have been the most Chelsea way of her winning. You know,

but what happens if everyone before thirty is eliminated? You
know what what happens if everyone's eliminated before the countdown
starts happening, Like do you still wait for the timer
or do you just send the next person out?

Or as as her music is starting, that's when they
go over the ropes and eliminate themselves. Like doesn't even
make it to the ring prety much goes to the
ring wins all that's like like and you even have
the announcers, the comminators say all she has to do
is make it to the ring and she wins now
because there's no other competitors for her. I think also

that would be a breath of fresh air. Yeah, like
another like a an original idea that you don't see
very often these days, because like if you watch any promotion,
not just WWE, but you watch any promotion enough, you
start to notice their booking tendencies. Like we talked off
the air about WWE has a bad habit even now

of booking the loser strongly going into the on the
going into the pay per view pl Like, they have
a bad habit of doing that.

You know. I'll tell you who I would have loved
to have seen this happen to, because I think it
would have been the one way to give her a
royal rumble win and it would have just been amazing. Okay,
So you have let's say, competitors twenty eight and twenty
nine in the ring. You have trishan lieda okay, okay,

and they're going at it. They go over the top,
they both go out both feet, you know, all four
feet have hit the floor. So you have j R.
And you have Jerry Lawler really talking it up like
who's it going to be who's winning the Rumble and
then May Young's music gets so then May Young comes

out and she has won the Women's Royal Rumble, and.

Then Bubba comes out in Power Popps.

Yes, but I mean, come on, how great would it
would it have been to be able to say May
Young won a Women's Royal Rumble? I mean you could
do the same thing with the men. Yeah.

if you had him lose you, they could have built
up the story like they did with Cody, Because again,
as I've said numerous times, the story when it comes
to championships in my mind is what will the he'll
do to retain it? And what is the journey the
babyface has to go on to get it? No?

Okay, so would you have been more open to jbing champion?
Like what you're saying he wins the rumble, he goes
and he loses, and then he has to chase it
for the next year.

No, I don't think he should have won the rumble
at all. Well, you know, not at all. No, Okay, no,
I think But if.

He would have won, would you have been okay with
that with that them taking that round instead of just
slapping the title on them at Mania?

Probably not, because again I don't think his en ring
work is as crisp as other people's fair you know,
I think he needs more time as a singles wrestler
because I still see him as a tag team wrestler.
That's where he, in my opinion, should be.

There's been a lot of discourse online about this unreal
document somewhere like this is the worst thing for the
business that exposes way too much.

And I was getting ready to the question like what
y'all thought about it? But go ahead lead in with that.

Like, to me, I find this very interesting, like people
are trying to protect us as a secrets. Like people
have known about this for decades now they wrestling news
sites talk about this like almost every day, But now
that ww puts it on a show, now they're mad,
like you already know.

Why do you care so much?

If you care so much what you don't have to
watch it's true, And people think it takes away the magic.
It's like, no, to me, it's the same thing as
like watching behind the scenes of a movie. It's interesting
to see how it's actually made.

And also like sports writers quit reporting match results for
professional wrestling decades ago. Yeah, Like I think back in
the forties or fifties they stopped. I think it was
the fifties they stopped reporting them because like it was
like one of those open secrets, like everybody kind of knew,
but they didn't. Yeah, you know, like nobody really knew

until like fully until like Vince was like I'm tired
of paying these athletic commissions. We are not an athletic league.
We are an entertainment company.

I guess the question is like, what are your all's
opinions of the show, Like do you think it's a
good idea or do you think it's fine.

I mean, I can definitely see both sides of the
coin here, But I think where where it starts to
be an issue is you can definitely see some people
with more of an outdated mindsetet exposed to some people. Yes,
if if you are, if one of the big things

that you're pushing about going to Netflix is not having
to have a time limit, then you don't need to
tell people that they're going long when they're having a
great match. If the crowd is into it, you use it.
You use your time.

I was gonna say, according to Bruce Pritchard, people thought
they didn't have a time and apparently they do. I

but I mean that's one of the reasons why they
were talking about Netflix, is you know there's no set timeline.

Yeah, like there might be a soft ending that they want,
like a soft time, but I'm sure if they go

They don't have that on Netflix. No, exactly, at least
not right now.

I don't gonna say as far as I know, like,
isn't WWE the only streamed thing on Netflix weekly?

Yes, they occasionally do, like maybe something once a month,
but other than that.

I've had some comedy specials too, Okay, so I don't

Like, I think that it is interesting to see how
this unfolds, how this is put together. That may also
not be so much from an aspect of a well
that I think that does come from some of an
aspect of a lifelong wrestling fan, but also somebody who
has worked in production. Just to see how some of
it's pieced together is is interesting to me. But I

definitely see what you're saying, Jason. Where it does it
does expose some people and show how out of touch
they are or how they actually are behind the scenes.
Like it can't. It's a double edged sword.

He doesn't like the show, but he has a podcast
where he's basically talking about this stuff like every day,

What if? With WWE Unreal there is a separate writer's
room for the writer's room, and all of it's just staged.

in the locker room just to go out and celebrate.
They didn't tell them what it was for, but apparently

that features three minute matches or five minutes for the
title matches, has not aired any new episode since July ninth,
which has raised questions about its future. Two various news
sites are believing it has been quietly canceled, but WWE
nor X have made any comments on the status of

And both El Grande Americano and soul Ruka are still
listed as the reigning men and Women's Speed champions. Dave
Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer newsletter noted that WWE has
have not been taping any new episodes, and when he
tried to inquire about the status of the show through
his WWE sources, no one knew anything. WWE Speed launched

in April twenty twenty four and was on a two
year deal with X and had averaged about a million
viewers per episode.

a spot in the semi final. The winner advances there

matches advance to the finals to crown the winner of

win the TNT Championship.

on Netflix. WWE Unreal, It's unreal. Yes. It premiered on
July twenty ninth. The series follows various WWE personalities, from
Cmpunk and John Sena to Triple H and the creative team.
There are five episodes in totals, starting with the lead

up to the to Monday Night Rawls debut on Netflix
and finishing with WrestleMania forty one. The series also follows
the behind the scenes of the Sena hillturn, wrestler's returning
from injury, and a sneak peek into the writer's room
for the Royal Rumble. In fact, it shows a clip
where most of the room goes for Punk to win

the rumble, with a few John Cena's sprinkled in there,
but ultimately Michael Hayes throws out jay Uso because he
is quote hot at the moment, and Triple H decides
to go for j Uso, which kind of shows that
Triple H at times is listening to the minority in
the room, not the majority in the room.

good pop, good reaction from the crowd, and he looked

at Nancy go like, oh, okay, you got a got
a pretty good pop out of that, and Vince's like, yeah,
I really hope he gets over m It's like that,
right there is the difference that right there shows the
difference and that isn't me like singing not really singing
the praises of Vince, but I also shows sort of
the little difference between Vince and Triple H. Also, this

was Vince long before he started to really get all
over the place with his booking.

One thing that didn't quite show is Michael Hayes like
convincing them for JA. So it would have been interesting
to see that conversation and like how they decided.

Yeah, And I did hear that apparently like with this
and I think this is coming from Dave Meltzer, that
WWE unreal is they've put it together in a way

made himself into a character and stuff against his dad's wishes,

kind of was smart enough to know not. I mean,

like a independent promotion where the booker is also the

want to go down that route, not not to say
that that Triple A's going to slap the bet on him,

Mean so much so events he didn't want people thinking
him aout the Hall of Fame.

Yeah, like that's it's And I think that right there
just illustrates the the stark difference between the two. I

not watched Unreal all the way through, so I can't
give my full thoughts on it. Just I know that
there was the clip that Josh sent both of us
about them in the writer's room, which I thought was

Well, wasn't there also a clip where they were talking
about the women the Women's Rumble, and there was one
writer who wanted Chelsea I believe it was Chelsea Green
to be the thirtieth entrance.

So yeah, the idea was that basically the last two
people before Chelsea were in the ring, they did a
double elimination, so Chelsea comes out automatically wins.

Yeah. I think it would have been brilliant.

Yeah, it was just a random idea he had. It
wasn't like a serious one.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
But yeah, I think I think maybe if because it
wasn't that around the time, did Chelsea. Did she have
the US title then yeah, okay, so maybe I mean, okay,
I was gonna say with with that in mind, like
I guess if she didn't have that going on, that
may carry more weight. But since she had the whole
United States title gimmick going on, like kind of let

her do that for.

A little long well, but it also would have been
something that is different like it it never would have
It hasn't happened previously. It's something that would have been
unique to the situation. Yeah, because it's always that Okay,
well what character Yeah, well yeah, I mean that would
have been the most Chelsea way of her winning. You know,

but what happens if everyone before thirty is eliminated? You
know what what happens if everyone's eliminated before the countdown
starts happening, Like do you still wait for the timer
or do you just send the next person out?

Or as as her music is starting, that's when they

make it to the ring prety much goes to the
ring wins all that's like like and you even have
the announcers, the comminators say all she has to do
is make it to the ring and she wins now
because there's no other competitors for her. I think also

that would be a breath of fresh air. Yeah, like
another like a an original idea that you don't see
very often these days, because like if you watch any promotion,
not just WWE, but you watch any promotion enough, you
start to notice their booking tendencies. Like we talked off
the air about WWE has a bad habit even now

of booking the loser strongly going into the on the
going into the pay per view pl Like, they have
a bad habit of doing that.

You know. I'll tell you who I would have loved
to have seen this happen to, because I think it
would have been the one way to give her a
royal rumble win and it would have just been amazing. Okay,
So you have let's say, competitors twenty eight and twenty
nine in the ring. You have trishan lieda okay, okay,

and they're going at it. They go over the top,
they both go out both feet, you know, all four
feet have hit the floor. So you have j R.
And you have Jerry Lawler really talking it up like
who's it going to be who's winning the Rumble and
then May Young's music gets so then May Young comes

Yes, but I mean, come on, how great would it

If you care so much what you don't have to
watch it's true, And people think it takes away the magic.
It's like, no, to me, it's the same thing as

And also like sports writers quit reporting match results for
professional wrestling decades ago. Yeah, Like I think back in
the forties or fifties they stopped. I think it was

until like fully until like Vince was like I'm tired
of paying these athletic commissions. We are not an athletic league.

to have a time limit, then you don't need to
tell people that they're going long when they're having a
great match. If the crowd is into it, you use it.

does expose some people and show how out of touch
they are or how they actually are behind the scenes.

by Michael Cole how important his upcoming match against Dominic
Masseiro is to him, considering that Styles has not held
the Intercontinental Championship in five years and he is getting older.

wrestling school based out of western Maryland, will be at
the Charlestown American Legion in Charlestown, West Virginia, presenting Pro
Wrestling one oh one. Bell time is eight o'clock and
tickets are ten dollars, but is cash only in first come,
first served.

have different level classes such as speech one hundred, Math
ninety eight or Pro Wrestling one oh one.

the inaugural ID Champion, while Kylie Ray defeated Zara Zaker
and Zeta Steele in a triple threat match to become
the inaugural Women's ID Champion on a tow Collision, which
aired on Thursday, July thirty first. This past week, Kyle
Fletcher defeated Dustin Rhodes in a Chicago street fight to
win the TNT Championship.

Crocket yep Wower, which was its premiere episode on the

to Arena, Mexico to challenge or Varno for the CMLLL
World Lightweight Heavyweight Championship. He won it.
