Speaker 1 (00:08):
Are you ready what I said? Oh yeah, Jeff dealing
queel and deal good, Queen of o'clock. I got one
hundred and forty one and took those tens of winning.
But bun up, I am bad and ain't a lot bad.
Wind a man out looking there with a dollar you

(00:30):
speak met out this sh time. Welcome to the grill
Out from the heart of Sillion, West Virginia. Here's your host,
Hollywood Chef Petty. Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen to the
grill Outs, Episode ninety six. I'm your Hollywood Jeff Petty,

(00:52):
and I'm joined here with the one and only informer
Grill Out Predictions champion Josh Cole.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Babe, Yeah, Jason wand in for me that inform us,
rather that he is on sabbatical working on that list.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
He had to revise it, okay, So I was wondering
where he was. I'm glad he told you, but he
did not. He did not let let me know that information. Yeah,
it is okay, but honestly, so Josh get we get
here to the to the studio and I'm in here.
I get everything prepped and Josh lets me know that
he's here. So I got a door to let him in.

(01:30):
I completely forgot until this morning that I had won
the belt. Yeah, I completely forgot that. And then Josh
hands me the belt and I'm like, oh, yeah, that's right,
I am technically the champion. Now yeah, probably won't be
the next episode.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yeah, it's being defended as we are talking.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Exactly class shit champions. It's well, it starts two right,
yeah started, Oh maybe maybe it has Oh yeah it
is one thirty right now today. Yeah, even though this
episode will go out at four o'clock today, but yeah,
just shows you that, you know, we are a pre
recorded show. We're not live.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Two of the matches we thought were gonna happen are
not happening, so.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
I guess we could cancel them out.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Yeah, so it's only four matches we're going with.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Wow. Yeah, so it's gonna come down the four matches,
all the matches real quick? Do you have it pulled up?

Speaker 2 (02:22):
I can get it here in a second.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
I was going to ask, like it, did we pick
different on any of those four?

Speaker 2 (02:30):
But uh, let's see.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
If not, it's going to be completely useless.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Okay, we all said Sena on Logan, Paul Logan and Sena.
I you guess Seamus on the rus of seamous match.
All the rest of us went rus of Okay, Roman reigns,
Bronson Reid, I guess Bronson Reid. You all guess Roman
on that, okay, and then for the World Championship match,
we all went with brains.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Okay. So it's different, Okay, all right, So so like
if if you if Bronson Reid wins, there's a pass ability,
you could be champion. Yeah, if what was the other
one that I picked? If if Shamus wins, then I
pretty well have it locked up at that point. Yeah,
unless it's a tie. But even when it's a tie,

(03:11):
And yeah, this might be the only time I'm going
to have a successful defense second time. Second time. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
this time I actually tried. Last time, I did not dry, I.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Promise, which I find that the Women's World Championship, Like,
why why didn't they just set up a title match
for it to happen? That it would have made sense?

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Yeah, like I said, no, it makes too much sense.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
No, No, Adam Pearson, No, I've got I got an
opponent in mind for you. I have to work out
all the details. It's not gonna happen clash will be later.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Why it's it's hard to tell. It is really hard
to tell.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
And it really looked like Cody Rhods Dreamagico is going
to have a match, but I guess I don't know
where Cody. Oh he is all filming that Street Fighter movie,
So I guess that's why Cody Rhoads. Yeah, oh yeah,
that's right. I forgot about that.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Yeah, forgot about that. That. Speaking of and being in Paris,
I just want to bring this up. Johnsena apologized to
the kid that he called a toxic fan earlier this year. Yeah,
during his promo with a promo battle pretty much with
Logan Paul This past Friday on SmackDown from France, John

(04:19):
Cena a Babyface now apologized to the kid he called
toxic earlier this year. I have to say his earlier
he'll promo and talking about how toxic fans are and
says that kid in particular. I felt so bad for him.
But you know, it's got to be a little rewarding
that here we are, what six seven months later, Yeah,

(04:42):
kind of full circle and Johnsena is like apologizing to
the kid and everything he I did see where he
talked here recently about he almost regrets those earlier promos
and going Hill almost. I kind of understand it from
him from his point of view because the way it

(05:03):
was set up and and and jump in here. The
way it was set up was John Cena was going
to have the Rock behind him, so the Rock was
going to be this final boss. He was finally able
to corrupt John Cena because he wants Cody Road's soul
and everything, and that never came to fruition. Yeah, yeah,

(05:24):
I mean, and we talked about that with with the
WrestleMania main event, everybody was expecting the Rock to show
up and who is it? Travis Scott. Nobody cares.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Yeah, Like if if the Rock was there with Travis,
it will have been fine, because I mean, they had
the whole thing elimination chamber, but it was just Travis's like,
Where's Rock? Yeah, that's the whole point.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Here, Yeah, like that exactly. The whole point was the
Rock wants Cody Road's soul, so he has to obtain
it through John Cena finally turning to the dark side
the story Road itself, and because of because of that
key part in the story, I don't I think it

(06:04):
caused John Cena's he'll turn to kind of fall flat
with people. At least that's my point of view on this.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Yeah, so they barely addressed it over until he turned
face again. Like they mentioned a couple of times, but
they didn't really directly address it.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Yeah. And also my thing is is like if it
and I don't know the true reason why The Rock
hasn't been involved in this, I don't I don't know
the details of that. If they knew that the Rock
and this includes him himself, if they knew that he
wasn't going to be able to commit to this, then

(06:42):
why even put him in the storyline. Yeah, Like it
just it doesn't make it doesn't make a whole lot
of sense to me.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Yeah, apparently the whole thing was like elimination Chamber. I
guess tickets weren't moving as much as they wanted, so
they brought in the Rock in to, you know, boost
the ticket sales, and that's how he came into the
picture there. And then after that he's like, you know what,
I don't think they need me anymore.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
It's what Yeah, like you inserted yourself in this story,
which again and all the and we talked about it
on earlier episodes, it all made sense. Yeah, I thought
it was like, Okay, this is gonna be a great
story to play out, Like I love the way these
pieces are being set up for the eventual payoff later
on this year. And boom, here we are and seeing

(07:26):
us back to face and he's got what cup two
matches excluding today for clash in Paris.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Two matches left, I think, well, I think three, at
least two.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
I think three. Okay, we'll see what.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
So definitely the Recipaluza coming up next month, which will
be the first on the usputin YEP, which will likely
be brock Lesner his retirement match in December, and I
think he's supposed to be at Crown Jewel.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
I thought he was supposed to be a Survivors series.
I don't know about that one, but yeah, yeah, so
at the most maybe four matches, but he has like
eight days left. Yeah, so that's like you gotta kind
of be a little a little careful on how you're
how you're placing his stories now I don't know. And
also that's another thing that I've noticed with WWE's booking

(08:18):
here recently, and it was something that they were they
had a problem with years ago was, in my opinion,
they would go for these kind of cheap pops and
not really follow through with them very well, or not
not not follow through with them, or not follow through
with them very well. Yeah, like with we just talked
about about what the rock bring them in because tickets

(08:39):
are moving slow for elimination Chamber, Get that pop, get
get the get you know, the all of that out
of it. He disappears and you don't hear from him.
You know, we talked a few weeks ago about brock Lesner.
Brock Lesner comes in, gets that initial reaction from everybody.
Then he's not even Johnsena's next opponent. It's Logan Paul.

(08:59):
So so that's it. I don't know, it's it's inconsistent
in my head. It doesn't make sense. Yeah, and it
just seems kind of cheap. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
I'm curious though, because you know, they said that Johnson
has this many dates, and when he was the heel,
he was like, yeah, no, this is just many. I'm
wondering where he's a face now and maybe, like.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
You know what, I'll do a couple extras.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Maybe, Yeah, maybe it's gonna be hard to squeeze in however,
any matches has left with only like eight dates.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Left or whatever. Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
So, I mean I don't even think this Wrestle Palooza
was originally on his number of dates either.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
So it also seems like this wrestle Palooza thing is
kind of coming out of left field. Oh yeah, and
we kind of we've talked a little bit about why
it's coming out of left field, just the whole counter
programming stuff. Yeah, and also with this new ESPN deal
being sped up the way it has. Yeah, like it's
it's it's almost like I hate to say this, it's

(09:54):
almost like it was pre Triple H taken Over the
book as in, we're going to fly by the same
of our pants and not have stuff mapped out and
we're just going to make decisions on a whim. Whereas, like,
you know this, at the very beginning of Triple H
Taken Over the booking, everything was planned out, Everything seemed
like it was fleshed out. Ideas, maybe it wasn't the

(10:15):
greatest for everybody. I thought they were. They were white
hot at the beg, you know, when this transition happened,
and it just seemed like they had more well thought
out stories, more well thought out programs with people, and
now we are not getting that or we're getting very
little of that.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Yeah, well, I think it doesn't help either because of well,
the whole Rock situation and then seen as limited schedule
and he's kind of like in the main picture, so
it's kind of they're trying to work around that in
a way.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
So that could be an issue there too. It could
be it could be shifting gears over to ae W.
Speaking of September twentieth, Yes, speaking of September twentieth, HBO
Max has updated their terms of service for subscribers. They
have a one time purchase option now and that'll go
into effect on September twentieth, And at this time, it

(11:03):
looks like aw all Out will be the first pay
per view offered on their service and that will be Saturday,
September twentieth.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
It will be the first AWP for you to go
head to head against a main roster WW event true,
which is the rest of the loosa that's true.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
My I wonder have they said anything about what the
price is going to be like it's is it going
to be a reduced price, is it going to be
the same prices this HBO thing. Yeah, I don't think they.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
I don't think they've mentioned anything about that other than
these updated terms.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Okay, we might find out more of the closer we
get to this date. I would I would like to
see them have at least like a reduced price on it.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
If I remember correctly, back when they originally announced this
HBO Max deal, the original plan was this and that
if you were a subscriber to HBO Max, you would
get like a little bit of a reduced price.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
So hopefully that's still.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
A thing for people who were subscribed.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Yeah, because I'm I mean as much as as much
as we've talked about the thirty at least a thirty
dollars a month for ESPN, which, by the way, if
you're I will say this if you are, if you're
going into it as just a pro wrestling fan, I
don't think it's worth the price. If you are going
in it because you're a pro wrestling fan, you like

(12:20):
the NFL, you like UFC, you like all of the
stuff like that, then I think it's worth the price.
Because this ESPN is going to have I think UFC
fight pass on it, and it's also going to have
NFL Red Zone to go with it. So with that,
I can justify the price as a fan of those
respective sports, but if you are a professional wrestling fan,

(12:41):
I just don't see it as that. So and yeah,
once we find out more about AW and all that,
when we get close to it. But what I was
just to finish that thought we've said on here and
said about the thirty bucks a month AW pay per
views have typically been fifty dollars for each one. Nobody

(13:01):
wants to pay fifty dollars a month, no, not in
this economy, not no. So I very much am hoping
that it's a reduced price.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Yeah, or just VPN to another country and pay like
twenty books.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
That's what Stephanie McMahon's telling everybody. Yeah. Which, so as
to what we've said on the show before, Josh Jason
and myself we have a like a group chat that
we send like wrestling memes and wrestling stories and just
general wrestling stuff in it. Josh sends us something what

(13:35):
was it yesterday or day before? Yeah, something like that,
and it was from Stephanie McMahon's podcast.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
Right, yeah, promoting surf Shark.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Yeah, promoting a VPN and she's basically all but saying
out loud. Ah.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
She she like directly said, he's like, you know, watching
you know traditional here in United States on cable.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
It sucks because over wherever else.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
You get everything on Netflix.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
So you can use a.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
VPN with our code here to watch Netflix. Now, she
didn't mention the polis. She was just talking about like
we all SmackDown, but still.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
Yeah, I mean the irony of that. Yeah. I did
also see where I guess Roman Reigns was on there
and they were talking about the weird verbiage that Vince
would would would impose on everybody, Like you can't say violence,
you gotta say aggressive. You can't say belt, you gotta
say title or what. You can't say hospital, you gotta

(14:33):
say a medical facility, or like he just had these
weird rules when it came to just language and what
you say. Because I think the most recent example I
could think of like somebody going against that was Bronze Stroman.
He said, I think belt instead of he said, he
said belt or title instead of championship, And because of that,

(14:57):
I think he did get like some type of punishment
thrown his way. It was just a weird quirky thing
that Vince did with his with his wrestlers and their promos,
and people pointed that stuff out for years and and
as as a person who has a background in communication,
I find it weird. I've always found it weird, and

(15:19):
it's yeah, it's just it's just a weird thing.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
May be one thing if it's a branding thing, but
that that's not really branding.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
No.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Although I don't completely disagree with the.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
Title thing, calling it a championship or instead of calling
it a belt, calling it I can understand that, even
though I will still sit here and call it a
title belt or a belt because it goes around the waist,
but that's just me. And also I can understand, especially
like when WWE became a publicly traded company, you know,

(15:48):
they work sort of at the whims of public shareholders
and whatnot and people buying their stock and all of this.
So like I can understand controlling some of the verbiage
so it doesn't upset advertisers and investors and whatnot. Because like,
as to what I've said before on the program and
I've said in you know, off the air with us,

(16:11):
is how WWE is sort of the Disney of professional wrestling,
as in they market a lot towards kids, and that's
kind of what their model has been on and off
for the past forty years.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
And now they're kind of part of it. Disney.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
Yeah, it's all weird. Time is a flat circle. It
really is Ria Ripley a Disney princess. You know. I
got asked that question on Facebook and I said, yes, yes,
I think she is a Disney princess right now. So
also talking about WWE, it is being reported that WWE

(16:47):
Rawl is going to move up its start time to
seven pm Eastern time, Eastern Standard time, nop what.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
So it's a little funny thing. We are in eastern
daylight time right now.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Really, Yeah, so it's EDT.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
Yeah that whenever I write this, I always put Eastern
time just to eliminate that. Oh okay, because it's a
weird thing. So from daylight saving time in the spring
to the fall, it's EEDT, and then from the fall
to the spring it's eest.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Yeah. You learn a little bit of everything on this show,
not just professional wrestling.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
Yeah, but that's why I always write as Eastern tom
an these things, just to eliminate that I didn't know that.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Oh yeah, So right now we're in Eastern daily time
and for about the next two months, then it will
be Eastern Standard time.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
Oh my gosh. Hey, either either way seven o'clock Eastern
time on September fifteenth, twenty second, and the twenty ninth.
This decision is to combat the NFL season and Monday
night football. WWE and Netflix want to see how they
perform with an earlier start time. Yeah, so if they're
going to start at seven o'clock, does that mean we're

(17:54):
all going to be off at ten non thirty thirty,
not none thirty, ten o'clock somewhere in there, because sometimes
they do stretch it to three hours.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
Well, I don't know. I asked Bruce Prichard.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
I'm not asking Bruce Richard.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
They've been averaging about two point five okay, all right, But.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
This is also this is like traditionally something that they
have struggled with for quite a while, even when they
were on traditional cable was you know, typically ratings and
that's and this is not something that we normally talk
about on the show because me personally, I don't care. Yeah,
I just don't care about ratings. Yeah, give me substance.
Don't give me ratings. Build it and they will come.

(18:35):
But this is something that they've traditionally struggled with because
the ratings for Monday Night Raw will dip in the
football season because of Monday night Football, because of the
viewership that goes over there. And not just that, but
you gotta think in October, you have Monday night football,
you have call We'll not college football Monday nights, but
you got Monday night football. You also have the MLB Playoffs,

(18:58):
which is something not just to be is fighting with,
but everybody is because baseball can be played on any
day of the week, not just Sunday, not just Friday
to Monday, well technically Thursday to Monday. Yeah, So real quick,
before we get to one this day in wrestling history,
just to go over to New Japan, everybody's favorite DVD salesman,

(19:21):
Toriano is working in the front office of New Japan.
According to Fight Full Select, Yano has taken on taken
on a more important role in the front office of
New Japan. Apparently he is involved in a little bit
of everything, including booking. I know that you are not
familiar with Toriano's game.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
No, but I'm gonna say he needs to upgrade the
Blu rays at.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
Least fair enough, but that is part of his gimmick.
He comes out that man is always pushing merch. Yeah,
he is always pushing some type of merch, whether it's
a T shirt or a DVD.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
I just find it crazy. DVDs are still a thing. Yeah,
Like Blu rays have been out for almost twenty years now,
they're far superior, but we still have DVDs. What's going
on here?

Speaker 1 (20:06):
I mean that's kind of like back in the day
when I think it was Beta Max. We went from
Beta Max to VHS and really, from my understanding, I
think now this is again coming from background and communications
and broadcasting and stuff we did not go to like
we stayed with We went to VHS and stayed there.

(20:27):
A lot of people outside of the country stuck with
Beta Max. I didn't know that until here recently, So
it may be something like that.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Well that's Japan. Japan is like the forefront of tech.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
That's true, that's true. But yeah, like I understand the
Blu ray thing, Like it is kind of weird.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
That blue rays now, but Blu rays are still good.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
Yeah, that's true. Even though at my house. I have
an entire cabinet full of wrestling DVDs from years ago though, right, yeah, well,
yes and no. Some of them are from years ago,
some of them are from when I was a kid.
Some of them might just bought online. Yeah, so you know.

(21:09):
Also before we while, when we're talking about New Japan,
Kenoski Takeshta, winner of the G One Climax thirty five,
has announced he will challenge the winner of Zach Saber
Junior versus Randonarita, which will take place at New Japan
Destruction in Kobe on September twenty eighth. Like Saber Junior

(21:29):
the year prior, Tech Takeshta messed up on that, Takeshta
will challenge THEWGP World Heavyweight Champion at King of Pro
Wrestling on October thirteenth. Rendonarita did defeat Zach Saber Junior
in the G One therefore he has first DIBs on
challenging him before the G One winner.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
And G One winner is supposed to go to Wrestle
Kingdom Bright.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
Please not not necessarily. That's traditionally, that's how it's been,
but the past couple of years they've kind of moved
it up to you know, King of Pro Wrestling, which
I guess in a way you could say it's sort
of it's not Survivor Series, but if you were to
kind of compare it to a WWE schedule, it's their Fall,
their Big Fall pay per view, you know, that's that's

(22:13):
that's their Survivor series. So it's just yeah, they're basically
just moving it up because also you gotta think Wrestle Kingdom,
which is their WrestleMania, takes place on January fourth every year,
so it's early January, so they just kind of moved
a matchup for three months. But one thing I will say,
one thing that does annoy me with by doing this

(22:34):
is the g One winner does not get a chance
to defend their briefcase or their contract often enough, because
that was typically what would happen. You would have somebody
win the g one climax that would be your winner.
They would be they would have a briefcase that would
have a contract in it, and that was their contract
to challenge the champion, and they would have to defend

(22:56):
that contract. Actually, it wasn't like a money in the
bank sittuation where we give you the where you win
this and you have it for a year and you're
the only one that's got to use it. No, they
had to actively defend it leading up to Wrestle Kingdom,
and that also gave the gave the booking and everything
a chance to build up this person say that, like,

(23:17):
maybe they weren't well known, but we're wanting to strap
the rocket to them now. We're gonna build them up
leading up to the big show while the champion is
also defending their title leading up to the show. But
for the past couple of years they have moved this
up three months to King of Pro Wrestling. So I
don't know, I give or take with it. I'm not

(23:40):
that big of a fan of it, but eh, I
don't know. Maybe also they're doing this because so many
New Japan fans are upset that Taqushto won the g One,
because there is quite a bit of them that are
upset about it because he's not technically contracted to New Japan,
so they're they're really upset about that. Yeah, yeah, anyway,

(24:01):
we're gonna shift gears to one.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
This day in wrestling History.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
August thirty first, nineteen eighty three, Terry Funk retires air
quotes for the first time. He would repeat his claim
numerous times in future decades. That was in nineteen eighty three.
That's a while, yeah, because then he pops up in
the nineties. Yeah, I think he had I think he

(24:36):
did have a program with Flair in the late eighties
or maybe that was the early eighties. I could be wrong,
and yeah, like he was. He was key to ECW's success,
and he wrestled like well into the two thousands. Yeah,
like we forever serious forever anyway. In August thirty first,

(25:01):
nineteen ninety eight, Miami Florid assess the stage for WCW
Monday Nitro and the build up to their pay per
view war Games Ool Games. I was going to play
the William Regals SoundBite there, but he's talking about NXT
war Games, so it is still fun to say oool Games.
The weekly show has wins for Goldberg and Chris Jericho

(25:24):
in separate matches, whereas Eddie Guerrero lays down in this
match against Brian Adams for Adams to get an easy win.
The main event features the team of Hollywood Hulk Hogan
and Brett Hart the Heels going against Sting and Lex
Luger The Faces The match ends in a count out
loss for Hogan Heart due to them arguing in the

(25:45):
aisle after Brett took Hogan's belt away from him that
he was using to whip sting. Afterwards, the Warrior appears
appears in a cloud of smoke in the ring, which
takes out the nWo. Lastly, August thirty first, twenty nineteen,
the second a TOW pay per view All Out came

(26:06):
to us from Seer Center in Chicago, Illinois. On the
pre show, Nila Rose won the twenty one woman Casino
Battle Royal to become the number one contender for the
Women's World Championship. The main event saw Chris Jericho defeat
Hangman Adam Page to become the first ever AW World Champion,
which meant that Jericho would go down as the first

(26:27):
person in history to have held the world title in WWE,
WCW and AW. We're going to take a quick break
and when we come back, we're gonna talk a little
bit about wrestling titles. Yeah, or one in particular. Yeah.
Stay tuned. Goods Time for War of the Grill out

(26:50):
Here's Hollywood, Jeff Petty, Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen too.
The grill Out. I'm your host, Hollywood, Jeff Petty. I'm
joined by Josh.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
I've been waiting for the segment forever in a day.
Our favorite title the twenty four to seven Championship.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
Well it's twenty four to seven champion esque. Oh yeah,
But we have talked about this title quite a bit.
We've talked about this title quite a bit off the air, Yeah,
just because of how wacky it is. Yeah, So one
thing like I will say this and you can you
can correct me or jump. In professional wrestling, I do

(27:27):
like for it to be serious. I do like my
serious wrestling, but I also like my goofy wrestling.

Speaker 2 (27:32):
I like it to an extent.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
Yeah, like it can be too much. Yeah, just like anything,
it can be too much of one thing. But I
do like some of the wackiness that goes into at
the times. This is one of them. So DDT Pro
Wrestling's Iron Man Heavy Metalweight Championship was established in June
of two thousand.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
It doesn't sound like the title of it.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
It does not. Once we start explaining more of it,
you're going to be like, what the belt itself, the titlechampionship,
whatever you wanna call it itself has a twenty four
to seven defense rule seven championship, yes, which means it
can be defended anytime in anywhere. This belt is not
exclusive to a certain gender or number of individuals for example,

(28:13):
for an for example, an entire audience has won the championship,
and in addam but objects have won it as well. Yeah,
the title was introduced by Poison Sawada Black, to which
he awarded it to himself. It is a parody of
the then WWF Hardcore Championship. So we're going to take
a look at this championship and it's rather precarious history.

(28:39):
I'm gonna pull this up. All of this is completely
coming from Wikipedia, so you can look all of this up.
Josh and I looked at this a little bit, what
a couple months ago, a month or two ago, and
just just kept having a good laugh about it.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
But numerous champions said one thousand.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
Yeah, how many? How many? How many are they? They're
on here a little lot? Uh yeah, like there is
like two thousand or okay, here we go list of
Ironman Heavy Metalweight champions. We big gosh.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
Yeah, the title looks kind of cool. It's got some
brass knuckles on it. It does it does for some reason.
We are currently on number one thousand, seven hundred and
sixty six, which was Poketon won it on August twenty third,
twenty twenty five. Right now, let's see, the person who

(29:32):
has the most number of rains at fifty is Uh
Dandy Dino Uh with a combined rain of six hundred
and nineteen days of sixty one nine combined days on
that rain. Aja Kang has won it five times with
a two hundred and ninety seven combined rain combined days.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Let's see here. Uh, there's I mean, there's there's quite
a bit one here. Most of the names. I don't
recognize myself. Maki Eto here six rains at a combined
of twenty days. You don't recognize I do, remember, Yeah,
I'm saying I recognize machi Etho's name. There's a good

(30:18):
bit of them on here. I don't fully recognize. Called Cabana.
Two rains for a total of four days. Uh.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
Let's see Tiger Mast of the Olympians zeus won it.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
Where where do you see that?

Speaker 2 (30:33):
He's at the bottom of the list. He's at the
very bottom of the less than a day.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
There's a lot of them there. Less than a day.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
Oh he is he it's just a Japanese rest so
he's not the real Zeason.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
Yeah, yeah, it's okay. It's x PAC won it, x
POC won it, yep, less than a day, one rain.
How do you ultraman? Where do you ultraman? Robin? Oh,
I see that less than today? How do you have
three wins three rains with it at less than a day?

Speaker 3 (31:02):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (31:02):
Probably like in a battle royal of some sort.

Speaker 1 (31:04):
Probably because there's a person here, Uko Miyamato with two
hundred and fifteen rains less than a day. Yeah, what,
there's a note?

Speaker 2 (31:17):
What's the note?

Speaker 1 (31:18):
Tommy Dreamer two days, two rains at less than a day.
Let's see Timothy Thatcher one rain less than a day,
the Sandman one rain less than a day. Let's see
Hornswoggle two rains at less than a day. Yeah, it's
probably got to be like a battle royal type thing.

(31:39):
Scott Hall really yeah, Scott Hall one went one rain
at less than a day.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
Oh, that's different.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
Oscar SHANEA. Basler is also a former champion of IT
spider Man.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
Spider Man spider Man's I think the greatest one head
to the student council to Kashi Sasaki.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
On there. Yes, Rick Knox a W referee. Rick Knox
is a former champion. Rhino Yeah, that Rhino is a champion. Raymonsterio. Okay,
we're getting to some names that.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
We two non six and seven to two six? Who
MVP A olivion boy.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
A chef? Yes, uh, MJF. MJF is a former champion.
Matt Striker is also a former champion. Me a ym
also a former champion. You can tell I'm in the
MS right now. Leo rush h La Parka also a
former champion. Uh that that that that.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
Would have done well with this title?

Speaker 1 (32:52):
Who our truth? Yes? Yes, Joe Hendry's former champion. Uh uh,
let's see Frankie Kazarian, Drew Gulac, the Weird Ones, Chris
hero All. We're getting to that. Chris Masters is also
a former champion. Bryce Ramsburg, who was also a referee

(33:16):
for a W Bandido, is also a former champion.

Speaker 4 (33:21):
Young Bucks together a taxi driver literally, a taxi driver, okay, okay,
so a taxi driver, a chef, and a television cameraman
and a blivion boy. Yes, I guess numbers to six
seven six?

Speaker 1 (33:40):
I don't know. Zach Saber Junior also is a former champion.
Zach Saber Junior, Ricochet, Jungle Boy, Johnny Gargano, ex Caliber Chima,
Uh Lahiedra, Brian Cage, Rocky Romeros. Yeah, yeah, the same
man as a former champion. Let's see. Uh is that

(34:06):
Tayer val Karia?

Speaker 4 (34:08):
No?

Speaker 1 (34:09):
What? Okay? I thought that said Layer Vacariia. It's not Uh,
let's see that. That that the Tiger's mask. Tiger's mask
or tiger mask, Yeah, Tiger's mask. Let's see. Penelope Ford
is also a former champion. She held it for eight days.

(34:29):
Let's see. Yeah. Yeah, head of the Student Council, Takashi
Sasaki uh okay, Yeah, there's a lot. Orange Casside is
also a former champion. Yeah. Like I said, maki Ito Osca,
I'm pretty sure. Oh it is it is? It is
a different Oscar.

Speaker 3 (34:49):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
Yeah, because she was known as Kana in Japan. So yeah.
Britt Baker is also a former champion. Uh Kodybushi three
time champion. Let's see Dean malinko.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
H Dean Malenko of all people, he held it.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
For fifty six days on one rain.

Speaker 2 (35:14):
So what's what's the longest single rain?

Speaker 1 (35:17):
I don't know. Uh, it should be in here somewhere.
It's probably the top. Yeah, probably so long of a page,
that's what I mean. Like, there's oh, there's almost two
thousand different champions for this. Let's see.

Speaker 2 (35:35):
Oh the longest oh, that's combined rain?

Speaker 1 (35:37):
Is it combined? Oh? Combined rain? It's like six hundred
some days. Okay.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
The longest rain is Masa Takanachi's sixth rain. It was
three hundred and thirty three days.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
Oh wow, Yeah, that's.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
The longest singular rain.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
So out of these one thousand, seven hundred and sixty
six rains, only one hundred and fifty five held them
for longer than.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
A day a day, yeah, okay. So, as of this
coming straight from the Wikipedia page, as of August thirty first,
twenty twenty five, there have been one thousand, seven hundred
and fifty six officially recognized rat yes updated, Oh yeah
it is. Yeah, it's like one thousand and seven to
sixty something. Yeah, right, was it as Okay, Yeah, it doesn'tdated. Yeah,

(36:23):
between four hundred and thirty one different human individuals, eight teams,
and fifty seven inanimate objects and animals. The record for
most reigns is held by Shinobu, who won it two
hundred and sixteen times. I wonder our truth? How much
do that be? You know?

Speaker 2 (36:42):
The greatest twenty four seven seven eleven European International Interstate
Basket Champion.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
I don't know the title has a casket. Here's one.
The title has occasionally been won by unusual means, such
as an auction for the belt, rock, paper scissors, and
even a title change that occurred in a dream. Very
meta of them. Yeah yeah, this is completely like a

(37:11):
parody of the WWF Hardcore Championship. Just to go back.
Uh yeah, as far as like, I guess, a monkey,
a cat, and a dog have won it. Inanimate objects
this is the hilarious part. A ladder, a Hello Kitty
doll and I'm not gonna go through all of them.

(37:31):
A baseball bat, a pro Wrestling wave poster which is
a Joshi promotion in Japan Big Japan Pro Wrestling ring truck.
A ringside matt from Ice Ribbon has also won it.
Uh two different steel chairs, three different was it? Kindo?

Speaker 3 (37:54):
Sticks?

Speaker 1 (37:55):
Oh? No? Sticks of yacki torri, which is a chicken
karaokey chicken cooked over the Yeah, chucko fire. Uh. The
idaw GP Junior Heavyweight Championship belt has also won it
Lord Vince McMahon's Hollywood Walk of Fame star.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
This is so big they had to split in the
two pages.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
Did they really? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (38:17):
Oh my goodness, they have They have it from two
thousand two nine to present.

Speaker 1 (38:22):
Oh my gosh, Killing the Business. A copy of the
Young Bucks autobiography in three pages.

Speaker 2 (38:28):
I'm sorry, it's two nineteen.

Speaker 1 (38:33):
God, I love professional wrestling. A Christmas tree? Uh, Stefan
the Dinosaur which was a stuff dinosaur. Uh, let's see
a a camera crane? Uh? A bus? Where is the
one about the entire audience members? The title belt itself,

(38:58):
the championship itself has won the championship.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
Uh, there was a little list down here? Where was it?

Speaker 1 (39:08):
Let's see, and the Young Bucks are former champions.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
One hundred thousand subscribers to the official YouTube channel the
the what yeah say that again? One hundred thousand subscribers
to the official I guess the ET's official YouTube channel.
So I don't know how that happens?

Speaker 1 (39:26):
Can I can I put that on my resume?

Speaker 2 (39:30):
The Beyond Wrestling audience.

Speaker 1 (39:33):
What yeah, it's it's hilarious.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
The Young books.

Speaker 1 (39:38):
Hey yeah, yeah, yeah, the yeah. Uh, the entire audience
at Beyond Wrestling's America Rana sixteen event in twenty sixteen.
Uh yeah yeah, the one hundred thousand subscribers Josha sell.

Speaker 2 (39:50):
The books is autobiography killing the business.

Speaker 1 (39:53):
Yeah, that's hilarious. The Invisible Man has also won it.

Speaker 2 (39:57):
Uhcotons head, not Poketon but his head. What yeah, oh
my goodness, Poketon is the current champion.

Speaker 1 (40:08):
I don't you know. That's the thing. Also about like
these twenty four to seven championship like type belts titles.
Josh is gonna kill me because I keep saying belt.
It's you don't like you can kind of just go
any direction you want to. If it's bad, don't say it.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
The Big Japan PROG Wrestling ring truck.

Speaker 1 (40:31):
Yeah yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah, the ring truck has won.
A ladder has also won, like a steel ladder.

Speaker 2 (40:38):
A dish, just a random dish, disposable chopsticks.

Speaker 1 (40:44):
What, oh my goodness, a pork bun, a foot massage matt,
A printed email.

Speaker 2 (40:52):
Oh so we had the iron that the title itself
has won of the.

Speaker 1 (40:55):
T hold on, hold on hold that thought. A printed email.

Speaker 2 (41:00):
I wonder what was on the email.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
I don't know. Go ahead, so.

Speaker 2 (41:05):
That the title itself has won itself, but also the
IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship belt has won.

Speaker 1 (41:12):
Yeah, I really wonder what Our Truth would would do
with this. Yeah. I feel like Our Truth should go
on a world tour and just just win every twenty
four to seven type belt there.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
Is to add to his ego. Vince mcmanon's Hollywood Walk
of Fame star, Yeah, yeah, I don't Could they take
the star off the ground?

Speaker 1 (41:35):
I don't know. I really, for the life of me,
do not know. A wrestling poster won it?

Speaker 2 (41:41):
Also a yellow iPhone fourteen?

Speaker 1 (41:44):
What? Yeah? Okay? Whatever a Z star is okay? Uh?

Speaker 2 (41:51):
Yackatry one, two and three.

Speaker 1 (41:53):
Hold on, I'm gonna go over here because, like I
see similar titles to WWE twenty four to seven Championship.
I'm just going over here browsing real quick. I want
to see how many times did ar Truce win it?
Fifty four times?

Speaker 2 (42:07):
I think officially it's like fifty two or fifty three,
but yeah, fifty four because there's one or two they
don't recognize for some reason.

Speaker 1 (42:14):
Why would you? Okay, okay, they did like.

Speaker 2 (42:17):
A commercial for old spice or something, and they're not
recognizing what happened in that commercial.

Speaker 1 (42:23):
If you can change the title in a dream, I
know this isn't the same promotion, but it's the same rules.
If you can change the title in a dream, Yeah,
you can change the title in an old space ad. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (42:37):
It's funny that people hated on the twenty four to
seven title and this is maybe worse in a way.

Speaker 1 (42:44):
Yeah, and this has been going on for twenty five years. Yeah,
twenty five years, this has been going on. I've I
initially heard about this title back in twenty eighteen, I
think so several years ago, like when I first started
getting into you.

Speaker 2 (43:00):
I think you might have mentioned it some sometime around
there as well. Yeah, I think how I.

Speaker 1 (43:05):
Briefly heard of it, Yeah, because like I just i'd
never heard about it. And when I first heard iron
Man Heavy Metalweight Championship, I'm like, oh, Okay, that's got
to be like a hardcore championship or like you know,
some type of some type of extreme rules type deal.
It's not. It's really not. It's it's literally a joke belt. Yeah.

(43:26):
Like also, I wish I was part of the one
hundred thousand subscribers to DDT's official YouTube channel to win
Win the Belt, because I would put that on my resume. Yeah,
I would put down that I am a former DDT
Pro iron Man heavy Metal Weight Champion. Yeah, yeah, exactly
like I would. I would do that. No, probably not.

(43:48):
I'm joking.

Speaker 2 (43:50):
I mean if you if you, if you like we're
listing like the grill out under your thing, you'd be hey,
I'm even a iron Man heavy Metal champion, exactly.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
Like I said. I do like the serious wrestling, you know,
I very much. I I love that stuff. But also
the thing is about professional wrestling is it's it's a
variety show. So like it's okay to have some of
your comedy sprinkled in there. Yeah, you know it should

(44:22):
it be your entire focus man, Maybe not, like I guess,
unless you want to to for that type of audience.
And I'm not saying that in a disparaging way. If
you want the type of audience to that loves like
comedy wrestling in general to be your target audience, and
you know, more power to you. Yeah. But yeah, this

(44:42):
right here is this has to be the whack one
of the wackiest belts ever in professional wrestling. Oh, a
piece of Rice wanted a trash ben.

Speaker 2 (44:57):
I wonder if they like lost the piece of Rice, Like,
is that Rice maybe technically still the champion?

Speaker 1 (45:09):
Okay? Uh maybe chair one and chair two? What? And
literally like you like so with like Wikipedia, you know,
it's it's got like a blue link and it can
take you to like another thing. And I see Rice
and I'm like, is that like a wrestler's name. No,
it's literally Rice an apple yep, and off tow a

(45:33):
desk a just beer. Yeah, all right, we're gonna well,
we're not gonna take a break. There's a little bit
here more here what what? Oh? Yeah, yeah, yeah, uh
well actually we will. We will do that in the
main event, which is now it looks like all the
topic has been done. It's time for the main event.

(45:56):
So welcome to the main event, where we go a
head and let you know what's your upcoming week for
national wrestling is going to look like internationally, nationally and
of course locally real quick before we get to that,
we would typically save this for our final segment, but
since we were already talking about the title, the Iron
Man Heavy Metalweight Championship. The most recent title changes for
the iron Man A Heavy Metalweight Championship occurred on August
twenty third at Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling's event Tokyo Princess

(46:20):
Cup Night five. Going into this event, uh Juri Suzu
I guess, a South African Marine Predator lab student, was
the champion. Yeah. Firstly, Chouh defeated Suzu by pinning her

(46:40):
before the start of the eight woman Battle Royal. My
hero Kudu Kiriukri You I guess then pin Kaichu to
eliminate her from the Battle Royal and also win the title.
Suzu then won back to the title by last eliminating Mayu,
Yamashita and Raku simultaneously from the Battle Royal. Lastly, Pokaton,

(47:03):
the mascot of d d Heapro Wrestling, won the title
by penning Suzu backstage. So, as of August thirty first,
Pokaton is the current iron Man Heavy Metalweight Champion. Yeah,
and that will most likely change within the next twenty
four hours. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (47:17):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (47:18):
All right, So the main event forgot to mention it
last week, but Real American Freestyle Wrestling had its debut
event this past Saturday, August thirtieth. This is a legitimate
wrestling promotion for Greco Roman Wrestling or what pro wrestling
refers to as amateur wrestling. It's actually referred to mainly
as amateur wrestling. I have a friend of mine that
used to be a wrestling coach inl like for like

(47:42):
middle schools and stuff, and I said Greco Roman Wrestling
to him one time and he goes, it's amateur wrestling,
so he is sort of a professional wrestling event. He's
more of an MMA fan, so he corrected me on that.
So this is an actual professional promotion of for wrestling
feature NCAA and Olympic wrestlers. The event was originally backed

(48:04):
by the late HAULK. Hogan as well as Eric Bischoff,
and they had a tribute video for Hogan at the event.
Their next event is in November, and they're planning a
weekly TV series to launch in twenty twenty six, and
apparently that's supposed to be on Fox Nation. Yeah all right,
so as far as everywhere else internationally and nationally. Friday,
September fifth, Major Leaf, Maple Leaf, Major Leaf, Maple Leaf

(48:26):
Pro Wrestling, Sacred Ground, Canada, Yes, Saturday, September sixth, Stardom
to the World, and then also Sunday, September seventh, New
Japan Pro Wrestling Eugen Nagata produced Blue Justice sixteen will
take place. And then of course everything else that is
going on in professional wrestling is not really changing. I

(48:47):
mean what you're going to see on television. Locally, on Friday,
September fifth, All Star Wrestling will be in Madison, West
Virginia at the Madison Civic Center presenting Wrestling for the Kingdom.
This will be a night of wrestling, ministry, and gospel music.
George South will provide a testimony and the musical concert

the Knon Moon Tavern. Bell thim as seven o'clock and
tickets start at twenty four to ninety nine. But this

be an adult, you do. The rest of these are

(49:55):
on Saturday, September sixth, Elite Pro Wrestling Alliance will be
at the Short Gap Volume Tier Fire Department in Originally
West Virginia. Bell Time is seven thirty front rows twenty
five dollars. General admission is twenty dollars and it's free
for kids three and under. Elite Pro also has a
weekly show, typically every Thursday at seven o'clock at the

(50:15):
Indie Theater in Kaiser, West Virginia, with a ten dollars admission,
So real quick.

Speaker 2 (50:19):
Speaking of wargames, they actually have a war games have
been coming up here.

Speaker 1 (50:22):
The next couple months, so keep that in mind, ladies
and gentlemen, Real shoot Games, Real Shoot Wrestling Presents Welcome
to the god Era held at the Harrison County Parks
and Recreation Complex in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Bell Time is
seven o'clock and front row is twenty dollars, while general
admission is ten dollars. Route thirty three Wrestling returns to

(50:44):
action in Spencer, West Virginia at the Armory on Main Street.
Bell time is seven o'clock and tickets are fifteen dollars,
while kids five and under get in free with a
paying adult free. Also a shout out to Applelachi Championship Wrestling,
which primarily does shows here in West Virginia. As on Friday,
September fifth, they will be traveling to Ashland, Kentucky four

(51:06):
first Friday fights, which will be held in front of
the Community Trust Bank at seven o'clock. Ashland is only
about an hour drive west of Charleston. It's not too far,
So there you go. We'll take a quick break and
when we come back, we have and new champions coming up. Yeah,
stay tuned once again. Here's Hollywood, Jeff Petty. Welcome back,

(51:39):
ladies and gentlemen to the grill Out. I'm your host, Hollywood,
Jeff Petty. I'm joined by the former Grill Out Predictions
champion Take two. Take two.

Speaker 2 (51:47):
Yes, Josh, we got a lot of champions on this
list of here today.

Speaker 1 (51:51):
Ain't me, yeah, exactly. Speaking of champions we have and
new this is our new segment. Well, we go ahead
and let you know all the new champions that we
can in the world of professional wrestling from the previous week.

Speaker 2 (52:06):
There are too many of today, so we can't list
them all.

Speaker 1 (52:08):
Yeah, we can't list every single one of them, but
we did a list some of them already. Yeah, these
aren't new champions, but championship related. We can now confirm
the that WWE Speed has in fact been canceled and
has announced that NXT Heat Wave on August twenty fourth.
The men and Women's Speed Championships are now part of NXT.

Speaker 2 (52:27):
So Sol Rook is the current women's champion and elk
Grandi Americanos is the current men's There you go.

Speaker 1 (52:33):
There were a lot of title changes this past week
in various promotions around the world, especially in Japan, especially
a lot of which you may not have heard of,
so we've omitted a lot of them. On August twenty third,
and the British Indie women's promotion Pro Wrestling EVE AWU's
Non the Rose defeated Nightshade to win the Pro Wrestling

(52:53):
EVE Championship.

Speaker 2 (52:54):
Now, au guess when is a Mercedes Mooney going to
come after her?

Speaker 1 (52:56):
She said on Twitter. Don't nobody like just just block
this out. Don't even let her know that I have this.
At AW n JPW Forbidden Door on August twenty fourth,
bro Dido, Bertie King and Bandido won the AW World
Tag Team Championship, defeating FTR and previous champions the Hurt Syndicate.

Speaker 2 (53:18):
It didn't hurt people time, they didn't.

Speaker 1 (53:21):
Two title changes occurred at NXT heat Wave later that
same night. Firstly, Dark State, Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin
defeated Hank and Tank to win the NXT Tag Team Championship,
while ash By Elegance won the TNA Knockouts World Championship,
defeating Masha Slamovich and previous champion j C Jaane, thus

(53:43):
bringing the Knockouts title back to TNA.

Speaker 2 (53:45):
If you're unfamiliar with ash By Elegant, that's the former
