that good singing this morning. Aren't you glad that Jesus
is always on time. We're late, we're early, we're more
late than we are early, but he is always.
Speaker 3 (30:20):
Right on time.
Speaker 7 (30:22):
Praise His sweet Holy name. It's good to be back
today in the Lord's house. It's good to see all
of you. Good to see Mary Beth walking in today.
No king, no walker, nothing, just come walking in. And
we're thankful for that. And we're glad for each one
of you those visiting today. Back there in the back
(30:42):
we have Whittet and Alex and their baby girl, Elsie,
and we're glad they stop by to visit with us.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
Here this morning.
Speaker 7 (30:51):
And we appreciate all you homefolk that are here today.
And you know, it's a busy time for people. I
understand that, but there's no place like being in church
on Sunday morning.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
Amen.
Speaker 7 (31:04):
Well, y'all have your Bibles with you today? Can you
hold them up around the house and let me see it. Amen,
turn that Bible to Second Timothy today, if you would
please into the Book of Second Timothy, chapter number four,
and I want to read you a few verses today
and then we'll try to bring you just a simple
(31:24):
little message and we pray that God. Now listen, we
pray that God will use it to speak to our hearts.
Speaker 3 (31:33):
I know I can, but he can. Amen.
Speaker 7 (31:37):
I was sitting there, my throat was scratchy, and I thought, boy,
this is not a day to have a scratchy throat.
But I've been preaching a lot this month, and I thought,
y'all pray for me. I probably can't go over an
I or two today, So you pray hard for me
that we get into that second hour that we Yeah,
(32:00):
I'm scaring you to death.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
Look at you trembling. Amen. Now you know we won't
be that long. Amen, But we do need your prayers.
Speaker 7 (32:09):
This morning, and we'd pray ask that you pray that
God would just give us a good time here today.
In the Book of two Timothy, chapter number four, in
verse one, I charge thee therefore, before God and the
Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the
(32:31):
dead at his appearing and his kingdom, preach the word
be instant in season, out of cease, and reprove, rebuke,
exhort with.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
All long suffering and doctrine.
Speaker 7 (32:44):
For the time will come when they will not endure
sound doctrine. But after their own loss, shall they heap
to themselves teachers having itching ears, They shall turn away
their ears from the truth.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
And shall I'll be turned unto fables.
Speaker 7 (33:03):
But watch thou in all things indoor afflictions do the
work of an evangelist make full proof of thy ministry.
Now our text verses will be six, seven, and eight.
But I just enjoyed reading them Verse seven or five verses.
Speaker 3 (33:21):
Amen.
Speaker 7 (33:22):
In verse number six, the Apostles said, for I am
now ready to be offered. The time of my departure
is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I
have finished my course. I have kept the faith. Henceforth
there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness,
(33:45):
which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, shall give me at
that day. And not to me only, but unto all
them also that love his appearing. Let me draw your
attention to something I may not get to it this morning.
In that last sentence, the Bible said in that eighth verse,
(34:07):
unto them all them also that love.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
His appearing.
Speaker 7 (34:14):
It didn't say to them that look for his appearing,
but for all them that love his appearing. Can I
tell you quickly this morning that we should love him? Amen?
We should love the things of God and especially his
glorious coming, For in that hour we shall be changed,
(34:38):
even though we don't know what we shall be like
when we see him, when he shall appear, we shall
be like him, and we should love the things of
God very quickly. We should love his word right amen.
We should love our Bible, we should love to pray, Amen,
(34:59):
we should love to pray, and we should love His
house Amen, and not have so much love for the
world that we do for Him.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
All right.
Speaker 7 (35:12):
Just wanted to say that, bow your heads with me,
and let's pray our heavenly Father. We come here this
morning again as humble as we know how to pray,
and we ask Father, in this hour God, for the
next few moments, you would be our preacher, God, that
we might just be hidden in the cross, that your
(35:33):
word might find lodging in our hearts and help us
to find our place. And Father, above all things, if
we're here today and we are not a Christian, God,
that you would speak to us that we may be
saved this hour. And our Father, we ask your blessings
(35:55):
upon all those that listen, those that are here, those
that listen way of radio and live stream or YouTube,
however they are tuning in. We pray that you would
bless the listener and may the word find a way
into all of our hearts. And for everything that you do,
(36:16):
we will thank you in Jesus' name.
Speaker 3 (36:20):
Amen.
Speaker 7 (36:22):
Today I read to you the Apostle Paul's last testimony.
This is Paul's swan song. He's getting ready to be beheaded,
and very soon he will be in the presence of
the Lord. I began to think about this yesterday evening,
(36:42):
and during the night I waken several times, and it
was always on my mind about going home to see
the Lord and my departure time that is at hand.
And the Apostle Paul, as he was leaving this world,
he left us these words I have, he said, for
(37:05):
I am now ready to be offered, and the time
of my departure is at hand. He said, I have
fought a good faith, I have finished my course. I
have kept the faith and that wonderful one. And he
goes on to say that there is a crown hencefor
there is a crown laid up for me and for
(37:28):
all those that love his appearing. I got to thinking
about these verses, and I thought about that phrase, for
I am now ready to be offered the time of
my departure.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
This morning, for a few.
Speaker 7 (37:45):
Minutes, I want to speak to you on the subject
of departure time.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
On our time of departure.
Speaker 7 (37:55):
I looked up that word, and I don't know if
you remember when Aaron Johnson was here and would sing
and she would sing a song when it's my time?
Speaker 3 (38:07):
Do you know that we all have a time of departure?
Speaker 7 (38:13):
When I began to study on this thought, I looked
up that I knowed, I knew what it meant, but
it said departure time refers to a specific time in
which a flight, a train, or other form of transportation
is scheduled to leave its origin station or terminal.
Speaker 4 (38:36):
Now listen.
Speaker 7 (38:37):
This time is fixed by a transport operator, and it
critical for travelers to note that it dictates when they
should be at the departure point to commit their journey.
Do you know that each one of us has a
(39:00):
harsher time and it is important that we know who
the transport operator is.
Speaker 3 (39:08):
I'm glad this morning that I know who Jesus is. Amen.
Speaker 7 (39:15):
I don't just know about him. I just haven't heard
about him. I just haven't read about him or somebody
told me about him. But may I say I know
him personally as my Lord and my savior. He is
the transport operator. And by the way, friends, listen, it
(39:38):
is critical.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
That you know this, that you know who he is.
Speaker 7 (39:44):
For the Bible said that in Hebrews nine twenty seven,
it said that there is a appointed time. Do you
realize that you have a departure time? Do you realize
that God has appointed a time that we're.
Speaker 3 (40:04):
Gonna leave here God?
Speaker 7 (40:06):
The Bible said God at a point of the time
that we all will die unto men wants to die.
Speaker 3 (40:13):
And then after this the judgment. I thought this morning
that death and dying is a terrible thing.
Speaker 7 (40:25):
But something even more terrible than to die is to
die a sinner and meet God as a lost person.
But we all have a time of departure, a time appointed.
I thought that the Bible talks about this. It talks
(40:47):
about a time that one of two things is going
to happen to every one of you.
Speaker 3 (40:54):
Number one, We're either gonna go out by the way
of the grave.
Speaker 7 (41:01):
That will meet our final appointment in the great end
of life, or we're going to meet God at the
great rapture of the church. You say, now, preacher, wait
a minute, do you really believe in a rapture all?
With every ounce of me, I believe that the Lord
(41:24):
is coming. The Bible said, he would not have you
to be ignorant, brethren concerning them which our sleep, For
the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with the shall
with the voice of the Archange, on the trump of God,
and the.
Speaker 3 (41:43):
Dead in Christ shall rise first.
Speaker 7 (41:45):
Then we which are live and remain shall be caught
up to meet the Lord in the air. That i'd
excite some of you all to know that the Lord
is coming back and he's going to rapture. He's going
to lift us up from this old planet and take
(42:07):
us on to Heaven. So I got to thinking about
a departure time, and I want to give you a
couple of things if I can to maybe help you
and help you to understand. The first thing the Bible said,
I am now ready. Do you know it's important that
(42:28):
you be ready to go? And not only that you're ready,
that you're ready to go right now. Yesterday I had
stood before a great crowd of people as we sent
our final goodbyes to my dear sweet uncle, and I
looked at over that massive people, and I thought, how
(42:51):
important it is that people be ready to meet God.
Speaker 3 (42:57):
You see, my uncle was doing well.
Speaker 7 (43:00):
Line never took appeal at eighty two years old, and
last Wednesday night, just out of nowhere, he woke up
feeling pressure, and he ressed his arms and in his face,
and in a matter of moments he left this world
(43:23):
to meet God.
Speaker 3 (43:25):
Now I begin to think about how important it is
that we are ready to meet God. Not thinking about
getting ready, but we be ready right now.
Speaker 7 (43:36):
Do you know there are many people about everybody that
I visit and talked to, They'll say to me things like, pastor,
I know I should be saved. I know I should
be ready, but I'm just not ready yet, and I'm
(43:58):
going to get ready one of these days. You know
that many of those precious people have never gotten ready,
that they're still not ready, and if they're not careful,
they will die and not be ready to meet God.
For I'm telling you today, every one of us has
(44:21):
a departure time, and you're not in charge of it.
God's in charge of that. You didn't set it up.
Speaker 3 (44:29):
God did. But I thought about being ready to be
now ready.
Speaker 7 (44:36):
You know the Bible said in second Corinthian six', two
for he, SAITH i have HEARD thee in the time,
accepted and in the day of, salvation HAVE i succored.
Speaker 3 (44:49):
Thee behold now is the accepted. Time behold now is
the day of.
Speaker 7 (44:56):
SALVATION i got to think about that little. Word, now
look at, me, Everyone IF i would ask you, today
LIKE i, am are you ready? Now would you be ready?
(45:17):
Now If god.
Speaker 3 (45:20):
Called you?
Speaker 7 (45:21):
Away you, say, preacher is it all that? Important all, honey,
listen it's not. Important it is necessary that you be
ready to Meet.
Speaker 3 (45:32):
God.
Speaker 7 (45:33):
NOW i know that people said in churches and they
Think i've got plenty of, time that preacher is just
up there trying to get me. Saved, well, absolutely that's
What i'm. Doing i'm not here just BECAUSE i have
nothing to, do AND i get paid to do. THIS i, am,
(45:59):
indeed with a my soul trying to get you saved
and get you ready to Meet. God and if you've
been to this church very many, times you know that
my heart is in winning souls To christ and that
is our duty and our. Job and you sit there
(46:20):
and you, say he's just up there. Preaching, No i'm
not just. Preaching i'm trying to get you ready to
meet The. LORD i remember one time on, VISITATION i
could call his, name you know him, NOW i said
in his living room AND i was talking to him
about The, lord and he said to, me he, said,
(46:40):
preacher and he said it sort of. Critically he, Said,
PREACHER i know what you're trying to. DO i, said
what AM i trying to?
Speaker 3 (46:50):
Do AND i called he's my.
Speaker 7 (46:51):
Name he, said you're trying to get me. Saved and
he said up with sarcasm and. Criticism AND i said to,
HIM i, said will, yes, Sir that's exactly Why i'm.
Here and the reason That i'm here is BECAUSE i
(47:11):
love you And i'm concerned about, you AND i would
like to see you. Saved as far AS i know,
that he never got. Saved he went out of this
world critical and sarcastic about the preaching of The, word
(47:31):

counting by, two's then by, fives and then by, tens
and we get up about.
Speaker 3 (49:27):
Eighty it's eighty eighty five ninety one.
Speaker 7 (49:30):

at the porch cry out and say ready or.
Speaker 3 (49:38):
Not HERE i.
Speaker 7 (49:41):
Come and here they had, come and they would search
and they would, look and they'd find you AND i

Speaker 3 (50:16):
Come listen to. Me there's going to be another, voice
The bible, said with the voice of the.
Speaker 7 (50:25):

that shout that says ready or, Not i'm coming.
Speaker 3 (50:34):
Now we're here today to try to help.
Speaker 7 (50:37):
You please please, listen to help you to be ready

i am now ready to be. Offered the time of
my departure is at. Hand you see today's. Friend, listen
(51:01):

was preparing that when he SAID i am now.
Speaker 3 (51:09):
Ready the word the term is a term that means
spindo spnd, o.
Speaker 7 (51:16):
Which literally means to pour. Out paul, SAID i am now.
Ready i'm going to pour out my life and by the,
way that's what he. Did paul died by being, beheaded
and when they took his, head he poured his blood
poured out of his body as he offered himself To.
Speaker 3 (51:40):
GOD i thought about another.
Speaker 7 (51:44):
MAN i thought about another man that went to the,
cross who gave his. Life The bible, said it was
pracious blood that he shed in our for, us.
Speaker 3 (51:58):
That we might be.
Speaker 7 (52:00):
SAVED i began to read, that and it talked about
over In Firs, peter by the pracious blood Of. Jesus,
now CAN i tell you that he shed his? Blood
The bible, said no man taketh my. Life he, said
no man takes my. Life we want to say that
(52:22):
pilot The, romans they killed our. Savior but he, said,
Nobody no man taketh my. Life he, SAID i lay it.
Speaker 3 (52:30):
Down he was not a. Martyr he was a.
Speaker 7 (52:34):
Sacrifice Now paul would have been a, martyr But jesus
was a, sacrifice and he laid.
Speaker 3 (52:43):
Down his life and poured out his blood.
Speaker 17 (52:48):
For our.
Speaker 3 (52:48):
Atonement praise his holy.
Speaker 7 (52:50):
Name listen to, me, friend the time of your departure
and my departure may be at.
Speaker 3 (52:59):
Hand SO i began to look at.
Speaker 7 (53:02):
THIS i, thought my, Goodness paul, SAID i have the
time of my departure is at. Hand he was talking
about that word means to loose the mooring that ties
us to the. Port do you know one of these
days we're gonna untie us and we're gonna sail away.
Speaker 3 (53:26):
Home. NOW i don't know how you all.
Speaker 7 (53:29):

i am ready now to meet The, lord should he
call me, FOR i am now ready to be, offered and.
Speaker 3 (53:49):
The time of my departure is at. HAND i thought about,
today the.
Speaker 7 (53:54):
Only thing, Important listen to, Me the only thing important
is where you're going when you're.
Speaker 3 (54:02):
Leaving AND i thought.
Speaker 7 (54:05):
TODAY i was getting, ready AND i, thought you, Know
i'd like to leave my family with a. Testimony i'd
like for my family to know Where i'm at and
to know HOW i got there and how they can get.
There so many TIMES i hear people come by a
(54:28):
funeral homes and they'll say WHY i almost said silly,
things but they say things, like, WELL i hope he made.
Speaker 3 (54:39):
It.
Speaker 7 (54:41):
WELL i wonder if he made. It and then they
come to me and, Say, preacher was he. Saved i'm,
like he's your. FAMILY i, mean you're the one that
lived with. Him he's the one that raised. You he's
your family. Member you should have asked.
Speaker 3 (55:01):
HIM i don't.
Speaker 7 (55:03):
KNOW i can't save, anybody but WHEN i, LEAVE i
want to be, ready AND i am, ready AND i
don't want my family to have any questions on WHETHER
i was saved or. NOT i want to leave my
children and my grandchildren a testimony that my departure time
(55:24):
came AND i answered the. Call and if you want
to see me, again you'll have to come to, heaven
because that's Where i'm.
Speaker 3 (55:32):
Going you, see you have a departure, time.
Speaker 14 (55:38):
Just like many.
Speaker 3 (55:39):
Others our dear Sweet, rose most of you have already.
Heard but she asked me to tell you down at the,
Hospital our Little, Rose.
Speaker 7 (55:52):
She, said tell my church THAT i have cancer and it's,
bad and it's fourth, stage And i'm not going to
do anything but live my life the BEST i can
Till jesus takes me. HOME i thought that dear little
(56:15):
lady was saying in, Words i'm ready And i'm ready.
Now AND i told her i'd tell you and ask
your prayers for and our family. Today listen, you all of,
you myself. Included we all have a time of. DEPARTURE
(56:36):
i want you to be. Ready paul continued by saying
THAT i have fought a good.
Speaker 3 (56:42):
FIGHT i have finished my, COURSE i have kept the.
Speaker 7 (56:46):
FAITH i thought that this statement is a thought about
a grec Old roman, wrestler if you would look it
up and study it out a hard. Fight paul said
that was common back in the theaters they had wrestling
The Greco roman. Wrestling Now amon might appreciate.
Speaker 3 (57:13):
THAT i don't know.
Speaker 7 (57:15):
Where he coached wrestling and. WRESTLED i wrestled in high,
school AND i can tell you it's the hardest sport
you'll ever participate. In there's not a moment during a
wrestling match that you can take a, breather take a, break, rest,
relax or depend on somebody else to do. Something from
(57:39):
the time it starts to let ends either in victory
or defeat.
Speaker 3 (57:44):
Or the time runs, out it is a constant battle
until the.
Speaker 7 (57:49):
End paul said in, WORDS i have fought a good
fight from the TIME i started till the time I'M
i have never quit AND i have never let, up
AND i have fought a good. FIGHT i believe he
(58:10):
won that. Battle and when they took his head from
off his, shoulders he went to be with The. Lord,
AMEN i wonder, today are you fighting a good? Fight
are you busy in The lord's? Work are we doing
our best to serve? Him or taking a little? Break

running and he was at the head of the, pike
and all of a sudden he grabbed his hamstring and
went down and got, up and everybody passed. Him and
he kept, hobbling, limping holding his leg on around the
(59:46):
track last.
Speaker 3 (59:48):
Place could have, quit could have.
Speaker 7 (59:52):
Surrendered the video shows his dad coming out of the
stands and running down to aid. Him he's like, No
and he went on cross the finish, line and they
interviewed him and, said why didn't you just? Stop he,
SAID i did not want A. DNF a did not
(01:00:15):
