Speaker 1 (00:00):
If you're the Dallas Cowboys right now, legitimately, where do
you go from here? You can't just cut bait with
Dak Prescott. I mean, isn't it crazy to think that?
It seems like no matter what you do where, regardless
of how things might go your way, they still end

(00:21):
up not going your way. And I think there's no
bigger symptom of the entire season then getting a headslap penalty, which,
by the way, if old boy hadn't have done that,
he's unevaded to the kicker and probably creates a block
or some sort of problem back there, right But regardless,

(00:41):
you get a penalty, it helps you out. You're fourth
and two. A couple of plays later, you can't convert,
And that, to me is the storyline for their entire
football game. Two fumbles on one play and it ends
up going against you. Houston takes it back for a touchdown.
On the defensive side of the football, you force an interception.

(01:03):
I mean, you just what do you do? I think
that the beginning of the season, it's really rare for
me to say something like this, but they blew it
in the offseason before the year even began. To me,
it was obvious. You make dek Prescott play out this year,
you sign Derrick Henry, you rebuild on that running game,

(01:28):
and you make things happen from there, and then you
figure it out next season. That would have been the
way to put things in perspective for this year, so
that way you know where to go next year. I mean,
they could talk about all the former Pro Bowlers and
all that stuff from a season ago all they want to,
but this was a team that just acted like they
didn't care enough at the beginning of the year. They

(01:48):
got behind. Now you've lost a quarterback for the season,
Zach Martin. You don't know what's gonna happen with them
on the old line. Then you have another lineman get
hurt the play directly after that, it's just a bat year.
You get Michah Parson's back, but that didn't seem to matter.
Diggs hasn't been playing up to his level. It's just

(02:09):
been horrific for the Dallas Cowboys. Regardless of how well
you do or don't play, it doesn't matter. There's nothing
you can do. And if you want to fire McCarthy,
that's fine, but you are still stuck with this mega

(02:30):
contract from Dak Prescott, So it's gonna make it three
times as difficult to go and add pieces to the
puzzle that are gonna help you. And nobody's gonna take
on that contract with a trade. If you allow Dak
Prescott to go somewhere else and play football, you're going
to be paying him the same way that the Broncos
are playing Russell Wilson. The difference is if Dak goes somewhere,

(02:54):
even if Jerry Jones pays him to be somewhere else,
I don't think you get the same result of what's
going on with Pittsburgh right now and Russell Wilson. And
the thing is is the Pittsburgh Steelers was so smart
about that because when you really think about it, it
was only what one point one point two million is
the deficit that they're paying him, So they're able to

(03:16):
go out and get other pieces before the trade deadline
and add some players to the roster to help Russell
out a little bit on the offensive side of the football.
You just your organization is not thinking like a football
team that is prepared to do what is ever necessary

(03:37):
to win. You got Jerry Jones, say, what am I
supposed to do? It looks cool. Well, bro what looks
cooler winning or having your stadium you know, shining light?
You got stuff falling apart from the rooftop. This thing
is just man. People think it's easy to make fun

(03:57):
of the Jets. This is this is bad brody. At
least from the Jets you semi expected, you know, with
the Dallas Cowboys, you know, you've they've got their haters.
They're not few and far in between. There there are
just as many people who can't stand that football team
as there are who love them. Right, but they're kind

(04:19):
of quiet throughout the season. You know, team will go
eleven and five, whatever the case may be, eleven and six,
make the playoffs and people will say, oh, they're not
going to do anything, but it's still the ruckus isn't
there until they physically lose in the playoffs. Now this
is bad publicity. This is bad all the way around.

(04:41):
You have landed yourself literally in a financial debt that
you are not going to be work out. It's not
going to be easy to work your way out of it.
And if you do, fire McCarthy, who do you legitimately
go out there and get well, you're going to reach
down to the college ranks. Kirby Smart, it's so good
right now in Georgia. He's not leaving Lane Kiffin didn't

(05:04):
work out in the NFL, so you're not gonna get him.
In fact, he hasn't worked out anywhere. He hasn't worked
out at USC, hasn't worked out at Tennessee. Oh Miss
has been willing to give him quite a long bit
of time, and that went over Georgia certainly bought him
another season. But the point of what I'm saying is
is if you're looking at somebody who's maybe got NFL
stature down at the college ranks, you're probably not gonna

(05:26):
bring him back in. I really don't know what you
do if you're Dallas. I mean usually when I present
the problem, I also present the solution. There's no solution here.
This is not a quick fix. You are going to
have to ride this thing out with Dak. The only
move that you could potentially make is figuring out a

(05:50):
way to pay seedy Lamb to go somewhere else. But
even then you have to send into a team where
you think he's not gonna do very good or you're
gonna look silly. You send them to Pittsburgh with Russell Wilson.
You're screwing yourself. You're not gonna let him go to
Denver because Bo Nicks and what he's got going on
over there. You're not gonna give him to Justin Herbert.

(06:11):
You're you're not gonna give him to Patrick Mahomes. You're
not gonna let Lamar Jackson have him. They could use
another guy probably in Cincinnati, but really they need offensive
lineman more than anything. I mean, what in the hell
do you really do If you're the Dallas Cowboys, you
are in a catch twenty two, but you put yourself here.

(06:34):
You know you didn't have a holdout situation, but Dak,
the way that you did was CD Lamb. You didn't
have a holdout situation. The way the Giants did was
sa Kwon Barkley. You didn't have that. You could have
played out the season. I don't know if Jerry got
afraid or whatever the case was, but he made the

(06:54):
one hundred percent wrong move before the year even began.
And that started with not getting Derrick Henry and the
decision and not get Derrick Henry led to the decision
to pay Dak the way that you did. I feel

(07:17):
bad for Dallas Cowboy fan right now. It's just this
season is done. And as far as what happened at
the end of the football game, look at least they
showed a little bit of fight. But you're three and
seven right now. In order to make the playoffs, you're
gonna have to win seven games in a row. You
still got Philly Washington's over there. The Giants are not

(07:38):
gonna do anything. They're getting ready to start tymmy DeVito,
that's how desperate they are. Daniel Jones is cooked. This
was it. This was his last chance after last season.
That should have been it for him. What I'm saying
is the NFC East is too strong for you to
make the playoffs. You would have to win literally seven
games in a row bare minimum. Then on top of that,

(07:59):
in the nfcon you've got Minnesota and Detroit and Green
Bay doing what they're doing right now. In the NFC West,
it's still pretty much a toss up, but you're gonna
have your automatic d with the division champ over there.
In the NFC South, it's not very good, but you're
gonna have your automatic division champ over there. But what
I am telling you is is the playoff race is
too thick right now because you've got again seven teams

(08:23):
that are gonna make it right on your side of
the NFC. So you're probably gonna have Philly, You're probably
gonna have Washington, You're probably gonna have Minnesota, You're probably
gonna have Detroit. Things are looking still pretty good for
green Bay. Then on top of that, you're gonna have
your NFC South champion and you're gonna have your NFC
West champion. You are going to have to win out
every single game the rest of the year and just

(08:45):
hope some other teams start tripping up. That's legitimately your
only hope. And all this bs about tanking, are you
kidding me? Right now? You're not gonna tank for Shador.
You can't do it because you're paying Deck Prescott too
much money, and you can't take for a coach or
you're gonna fire your coach or you're not. I mean that,

(09:06):
that's pretty damn simple. So taking for Dion is the
most ridiculous thing that I think I've ever heard in
my life. And even then, I think, when Dion leaves Colorado,
because he will at the end of this season, let's
let's all be honest here. When when Shador and all
of them go to the NFL, he's he's gone. The

(09:27):
best case scenario for him probably is either I'm done
with coaching or he goes to Florida State. I mean,
let's be really honest about that. You're done. This season
is over now, You're basically what you've got to start
doing is thinking about your coaching staff, and you got
to start thinking about guys that you could potentially bring

(09:48):
in to help you out a little bit on maybe
the defensive line. But you are in debt up to
your eyeballs in a stadium that clearly needs fixed. Mattal whoop.
I'm sorry, Dallas. Look, I know a lot of Dallas
Cowboys fans. I do, man, I feel bad for each
and every one of them. All right, Obviously, tomorrow I'm

(10:10):
looking forward to what's gonna happen with the college football
playoff and the comedian and all that. Obviously, Georgia is
staying alive. And if you're listening this far, look, I
continuously have a lot of Georgia fans and SEC fans
in my comment section. One of the videos is still
floating around, which I appreciate the engagement, and I appreciate

(10:32):
the interaction. I really do. I Look, even if you
disagree with me, I still consider you in some capacity
to be a fan. And you think my content is
engaging enough for you to engage in it, whether you
agree with me or not. So I really appreciate that.

(10:53):
Here's the point that I am really trying to make.
And the thing is, you know, obviously, with you know
TikTok and all that stuff, I mean, sure you can
make longer videos, but how long are you going to
really keep somebody's attention. So again, I want to say
that the strength of schedule is made before the season
even begins. Now it's not just predicated upon how people

(11:16):
think that team will do or how the teams that
they play against will do, but it's also predicated upon
how they think the teams will do against the teams
that those teams are playing against. So they don't just
take into account how well they think Georgia will be
and how good like let's say, Tennessee will be, but

(11:37):
they take into account how good the competition is that
Tennessee is playing against. And you look at the out
of conference at the beginning of the season, that win
by Tennessee over North Carolina State looks so good because
of the preseason polls in the strength of schedule, But again,
heading into this last weekend, the five teams that SEC

(11:58):
teams had lost to you in the Power of Three conferences,
we're twenty one and seventeen combined. A and M had
lost a Notre Dame, Vanderbilt beat Alabama, but they also
lost to Georgia State, and so the win over Virginia
Tech might have looked decent, but you lost to Georgia State,

(12:21):
and then you turn around and beat Alabama. So we
look at the teams of the teams that they are
playing against, the strength of schedule will look completely different.
Right now, it would not favor Georgia. And I know
a lot of people are gonna tell me, look, man,
they're playing at Old Miss, They're playing at Texas, They're
playing at Alabama. What is your problem. I don't have

(12:42):
a problem with Georgia. I don't have a problem with
the SEC. What I don't do and what I don't
deal in when it comes to any of this is emotion.
I deal strictly in logic, and logic says that if
Georgia loses another football game, they don't belong in the

(13:06):
College Football Playoff. Logic says that if the SEC is
the krim de la creme and you can't beat the
best of the best before you get there, then you
don't belong there. Logic says there are sixteen teams in
the SEC, and only one team has not played an
FCS opponent in that's Texas. Logic says the Big Ten

(13:28):
had the most schools, especially of the Power four, that
did not play against an FCS opponent, and two of
those notable names were Ohio State in Penn State. That's
just the way that it is. You can say Indiana
hasn't played anybody all you want to. All they can

(13:50):
do is play the schedule that's in front of them,
the same way that Georgia can. But here's the difference.
Indiana on average has been winning football games by double
d That win over Clemson, Okay, great, Clemson has their wins, right,
But in the losses that they've had Georgia and then

(14:12):
later on in the season, they were blowouts. Now they
showed up in that you know, in the fourth quarter
and they didn't get kind of screwed over. I think
on that that onside kick. But then you go into
the opponents of your opponents, Miami's nine and one after that,
what North Carolina State, Virginia Tech? And again, simple logic says,

(14:39):
damn near half of the teams that started out ranked
in the preseason are not even ranked right now. In fact,
by week four, good majority of weren't even ranked already
had multiple losses, and going into last weekend, their combined
record are coming out of it. I should say, was
what fifty two and fifty nine teams like North Carolina State, teams,

(15:03):
like LSU teams like ou Men. There's two of them
right there in the SEC alone. Notre Dame beat A
and M, and then they turned around and lost to
Northern Illinois. It was a matchup problem, but they have
that win, and the SEC is supposed to be the best.
Shouldn't A and M have won that game running away

(15:24):
instead of giving it away in the fourth quarter of
the way they did so. I'll admit the word destroyed
might have been a little strong, but you're picking up
what I'm putting down, and that's just the way that
it is now. Obviously, Georgia got the win over Tennessee Nico.
I don't think was one percent, but he you know, regardless,

(15:46):
Georgia ends up getting a win, right, so they're still
in it. Bama's still going to be in it, but
we'll see how everything plays out. I think that Georgia
will probably end up playing in a college football playoff.
And for the longest time I said to me that

(16:06):
they were still the best team in the country, but
they lost. So a lot of you were new to me,
so you're not hearing everything that I'm talking about, and
that's okay. It is what it is. But regardless, I'm
looking forward to seeing what the committee does tomorrow and
then of course here everybody complain about it on Tuesday

(16:29):
night and Wednesday morning. So all right, guys, I am
Drew Duncan. By the way, I'm been feeling a little
bit under the weather here, so I don't know what
I'm gonna be doing all this week. I'm supposed to
have a friends giving coming up, but man, I don't
know if I'm going to make that or not. Anyways,
if you get sick, man, especially if you get COVID,

(16:50):
make sure and drink plenty of water. I had a
friend ended up in the hospital from dehydration from not
drinking enough water when they were sick. So regardless of
what you're sick with, whether it's flu covid, strep, throat,
whatever the case is, you got to remember your body's
fighting even harder. So I mean, I just you know,
I had a gallon delivered to me today, So make

(17:13):
sure and stay hydrated, drink plenty of water, Apple juice
pedia like Gatorade Light. They got their thing out. I
had some of that brought to me too. So in
the meantime, have a great rest of your night and
or day, Stay safe, take care of each other. Good night, everybody,
