Speaker 3 (00:32):
Oh you always wished you were taller, Well, believe it
or not, you're taller in the mornings. That's right. You
may not be at your best in the morning, but
you're all your tallest. People gradually stretch out to sleep
at night, and gravity gradually compresses cartilage and the spines
and the knees throughout the day. This is what ends
up shrinking you in those sense. And as you get older,
(00:54):
the viscosity or the fluid between the sonobio fluid between
the discs between the vertebrates also start shrinking or drying up,
and this makes you shorter as well. However, when astronauts
came back from space, they were a few inches taller
because of the lack of gravity they were exposed to.
(01:16):
And this also happens when you're sleeping. When you stretch
out at night, the gravity is less compressive, so it's
interesting to see that. And you're also laying on your back,
not standing up right, having the gravity pressure directly down
on your even sitting can actually push you down too,
so when you're stretching out in at night, when you're
sleeping and you wake up in the morning, that's your tallest.
(01:38):
Try measuring yourself and see if you notice the difference
between the morning and the night.
