Speaker 1 (00:00):
The concept of multiple universes. It's also known as the multiverse,
as one of the most fascinating provocative ideas in modern science.
At its court suggests that our universe may not be
the only one, but rather of many possible infinite universes
that exist independently or simultaneously. These alternate universes may have
different physical laws, constant histories, or even versions of ourselves.

(00:23):
The idea of multiple universes is not entirely new, though
ancient philosophical traditions, including Hindu cosmology and some schools of
Greek thought, hinted at the existence of infinite worlds. However,
it wasn't until the development of modern physics, especially quantum
mechanics and cosmology, that the multi universe became a serious
scientific hypothesis. One version of the multiverse arises from cosmic

(00:45):
inflation theory, which suggests that shortly after the Big Bang,
the universe expanded rapidly. In this model, different regions of
space could have stopped inflating at different times, creating bubble
universes with their own distinct laws of physics. This is
called the inflationary multiverse. Another approach comes from quantum mechanics,
particularly the many worlds interpretation. This theory proposes that every

(01:07):
time a quantum event has multiple possible outcomes, the universe splits,
and each outcome plays out in a separate universe. In
this view, there could be a universe where you choose
a different career, never met a close friend, or where
history took teriorly entirely different turns. If you're a fan
of the Agents of Shield, this could have been the
what if episodes. Also in the MCU timeline, there's also

(01:29):
the string theory landscape, which predicts that there may be
as many as ten five hundred possible configurations of physical laws,
each potentially corresponding to a different universe. Despite its imaginative appeal,
the multiverse theory faces major challenges. The biggest is testability.
How can you prove or disprove the existence of other
universes that they are beyond our observational reach. Some critics

(01:50):
argue that the multiverse, while mathematically plausible, falls outside the
realm of empirical science. Others defend that as a natural
extension of current theories like the black hole or Adams
were once theoretical as well interesting concepts
