Welcome to Wellthy Living conversations episode 55.
I’m Lisa, your host and the founder of Wellthy Living.
It is here that I connect with a variety of people to have inspiring and insightful conversations to help you to live a meaningful, connected and well life both personally & professionally.

I love a good story, especially ones from women who challenge ideas and societal norms, showcase diversity, overcome judgment and shame, find beauty in the broken and redefine success to live their best life. And in this episode, I am chatting with a woman who has done and continues to do all of this.

My guest is a woman often referred in women's business circles as ‘the copyright queen” Jay Crisp Crow.

But we do give you tips on copyrighting, instead Jay shares with us about her life with an invisible illness and her achievement in successfully staying connected and living well despite her body being sick…or unwell.

A little more about Jay:

In her old life, Jay juggled a family, a disability, and a communications job that sucked the juice from her bones. Then she had firm words with herself, found her voice, and took her own gig on the road. Through Crisp Copy, Jay writes blow-your-hair-back premium copy for brands, big and small, and teaches women in business how to write copy that sells through coaching, consulting, and courses.

She regularly presents in Perth and online on everything from Staying Away From Safe Copy to Disability and Business and Being Both Fat and Successful. She co-founded a social enterprise with her Queen Ruler daughter, Ella, and in 2019 launched her first podcast – So Crisp.

Some days she runs a business just as a middle-finger to everyone who said she couldn’t make a living writing or tells her she charges too much.

Despite not talking about copywriting, I begin by weaving Jay's wordsmith magic, by asking her to define two words: Success and well.

I then ask her to delight you with her words -and paint a picture of her life pre-illness, living with the illness prior to starting her own business and lastly running a successful business on her own terms.

We continue to discuss:

-Loss of identity to building a new identity?

-Losing and rebuilding trust

-The importance of being connected to your internal power source for your wellbeing?

-Knowing your limits and asserting your boundaries lovingly

and more.

This really is an inspirational episode.
