(00:02):
Where around Lord as done. FirstCorinthians, chapter eleven. Greetings everyone,
greetings, thank God once again foranother opportunity that he has given us.

(00:23):
Such a wonderful day. And it'swonderful because we can hear God speak to
us through his word every day.Lengthy reading this morning, First Corinthians,
chapter eleven, verses seventeen to thirtyfour to the end of the chapter.

(00:50):
Division. Now, in giving thisnext instruction, do not praise you because
you come together not for the better, but for the worse. For in
the first place, when you cometogether in the assembly, I hear that

(01:15):
divisions exist among you, and inpart I believe it, for there also
have to be factions among you,so that those who are approved may become
evident among you. Therefore, whenyou come together, it is not to
eat the Lord's supper, For whenyou eat, each one takes his own

(01:40):
supper. First one goes hungry, while another gets drunk. What do you
not have houses in which to eatand drink? Or do you despise the
Church of God and shame those whohave nothing? What am I to say
to you? Shall I praise you? In this? I do not praise

(02:04):
you, for I've received from theLord, which I also delivered to you.
That the Lord Jesus, on thenight when he was betrayed, took
bread, and when he had giventhanks, he broke it and said,
this is my body, which isfor you. Do this in remembrance of
me. In the same way,he also took the cup after supper,

(02:30):
saying, this cup is the newcovenant in my blood. Do this as
often as you drink it in remembranceof me. For as often as you
eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he
comes. Therefore, whoever eats thebread or drinks the cup of the Lord

(02:53):
in an unworthy way shall be guiltyof the body and the blood of the
Lord. But a person must examinehimself, and in so doing he is
to eat of the bread and drinkof the cup. For the one who
eats and drinks eats and drinks judgmentto himself if he does not properly recognize

(03:16):
the body. For this reason, many among you are weak and sick,
and a number are sleep But ifwe judged ourselves rightly, we would not
be judged. But when we arejudged, we are disciplined by the Lord.
So that we will not be condemnedalong with the world. So,

(03:37):
then, my brothers and sisters, when you come together to eat, wait
for one another. If anyone ishungry, have him eat at home,
so that you do not come togetherfor judgment. As to the remaining matters,
I will give instructions when I comea many man. This month is

(03:58):
the beginning of the series that I'mgonna be doing a series of lessons on
the assembly and worship. Some ofyou will probably be through with me after

(04:19):
today because the way we've been uhproselytized in the Body of Christ, There're
gonna be some things that I'm goingto expose from uh the text that there's

(04:39):
a strong possibility not only have wenot uh considered it, but because we're
so used to doing things a certainway. You know, you do something
for a long period of time,it's just a habit and you are not

(05:00):
benefiting from what the true purpose is. I mentioned to you last week when
I closed out the series on theRemission of Sins, that I'm trying to
get you into a space where youdon't look at a distinction between ten and

(05:21):
eleven o'clock. I mean, reallyonly ten and eleven are just markers of
time. And thank God that wedo have clocks, because we didn't have
clocks, ain't no telling what timesome of y'all will show up. So
I'm gonna tell you I love youbefore I get into it, so you

(05:43):
don't. So you don't. Imean, you probably gonna get a little
agitated. Some of you who arewatching you probably gonna get a little irritated.
You know, some of you gonnathink you're being picked on. And
I'm not just talking to you.I'm talking about those that are watching because
some of the things that I'm goingto expose. As I said, I'm

(06:04):
pretty sure that in our circle,if I may use that term, or
in our fellowship, it's not said. And I can't say it's not said
because of well, let me say, one reason it's not said because of
lack of study. Right. Anotherreason why it's not said is because of

(06:29):
there's a possibility there's a fear amongbrothers to say it. And let me
say sometimes fear isn't always you're necessarilyafraid of somebody, but fear could be
Well, I don't want to saythis because I think people may leave the
congregation. That's how some brothers operate. I don't want to say this because

(06:55):
there's a fear maybe people will stopgiving. You know, let me just
say, we're not a brotherhood congregation. That went over some of your head
that fast, didn't it? Letme say it again, and then I
explained the explanation. I hope youunderstood what I said. We are not
a brotherhood congregation. You say, well, what do you mean by that

(07:21):
that we're not a brotherhood congregation? We are not trying to fit in what
the brotherhood is saying. That's outsideof revelation. Now, y'all got it.

(07:41):
We're not trying to say things becausewe want to be in good standing
with the Church of christ counsel. What do I mean by the being good
standing with the Church of Christ's counsel. Well, that group whoever it is,
that said as things must be donea certain way in order to call

(08:03):
yourself the Church of Christ. Sowe're not the brotherhood church. We are
the people of God and we shouldn'tbe afraid because let me just say that,
there are some people that left thiscongregation because of the cup, and

(08:30):
you know what they should have left. Well, I'm not thinking God they
left. I'm just saying they shouldhave left. You know why, because
that by them leaving, that ridsus of division. What do I mean

(08:56):
by that rids us of division?Well, if the cup meant that much
to you, then it's evident youdidn't have the relationship with Jesus that I
may have thought you had. Becauseif your relationship, or your means of

(09:20):
assembling, or your desire to assembleis only based upon a cup, you
got a whole lot of studying todo. I wasn't afraid. Just like
when we used to be multiple cupsand then we went to one cup.

(09:41):
I wasn't afraid of the fallout then, So why would I be afraid of
the fallout now? I'm not lookingto be accepted by no congregation. I
can only speak for me. I'mnot looking to be accepted by no brother
or sister, and I'm not lookingto fall in line just because somebody believes

(10:07):
that, Well, if they don'tdo something a certain way, I'm out
by. I wasn't afraid to preachon things that someone may say, well,
if you preach this, people gonnastop giving. Folk wasn't given anyway?

(10:28):
What changed with that? During thepandemic, many of you didn't give.
And the reason why you didn't givewas because you believed you had to
be in service to give. Soyou said, well, I'm not here,
so I'm not gonna give. Right. That was your understanding, which

(10:50):
was a false understanding, which wasan ignorant understanding. But it just goes
to show how you can be taughtsomething for so long and then did you
really save any money? But butyou made an excuse to God of why

(11:11):
you didn't do. You know,I'm at the point I'm not gonna beg
nobody to come to service. Doyou do? You do y'all beg people
to come to service? Huh?Why? Because watch this? Why beg
them to come to service? Youought to be begging them to come to

(11:33):
Jesus, because when they come toJesus, they ain't got no problem coming
to service. See, sometime weput the wrong thing out front. We
put service out in front of Jesusrather than saying, well, when they
come to Jesus, they'll come toservice. Now, you heard me say

(11:54):
this moreover many times for probably afew years, and you were probably shocked
when I said it the first time. The Bible nowhere records a five act
worship service. Most congregations with theworship service is is a punch list.

(12:15):
Y'all know what the punch list is. Have you ever brought a house or
worked in maintenance or something like that, and the punch list was the things
that they had to do to makeeverything right right. So the punch list
of the Church of christis sing, pray, give, preach, and commune.

(12:37):
So people said, I did thepunch list right, They turn it
in and say, now I'm goodbecause I did the punch Liss, I
figured today would be a good dayto start with with communion because I don't
know no congregation that does commune likethis. Let me reiterate, I don't

(13:03):
know no congregation that does communion likewhat I just read to you. Not
one. Now, it's funny thatthose who who you know, it's funny
that when we made the switch,we didn't condemn those who want to use

(13:26):
one cover. All we're saying isthat if you link my salvation to a
piece of pottery, y'all, rememberthat old the song my hauling oats,
The spirit of hauling Oats says Ican't go for that, No can do

(13:52):
because you can't connect me to aman made piece of pottery, and make
that of more value and more honorthan the blood that was shed that we
may be cleansed. See watched this. You left because of pottery, but

(14:16):
you can't say we stopped believing inthe blood. Y'all got that. See
they left because of tupperware, butthey can't say we stop preaching. The
blood of Christ still saves. Sotake your cup, Take your cup and

(14:43):
go where you need to go,where you feel justified with other people who
are of the same opinion and persuasionbecause you want to please the brotherhood,
and not hear God. Now howCorinthians was a congregation filled with problems,

(15:09):
And not one time do you hearPaul say leaving go to Galatia, leaving
go to Ephesis, leaving go toPhilippi, or leaving go to Colossie.
Y'all ever read that where he saidleave because you disagree on this, or
leave because you're disagree Not one timewith all the issues did he say that.

(15:35):
As a matter of fact, therecan be a point that can be
brought out that First Corinthians is actuallySecond Corinthians, and Second Corinthians is actually
third Corinthians. Because he said inchapter five, I wrote you in an
epistle, but that was before FirstCorinthians. So somebody may say, well,

(16:03):
you mean to tell me there's alost letter. You got it.
If you don't have it, thenlisten to this, But don't let that
unnerve you or move you, becausewe have enough issues trying to be in
compliance with the foul epistles if youworried about the one that's lost, and

(16:30):
we got a hard time being incompliance with the ones that's found. So
let's walk through this up up tochapter eleven, just so you can see
this. Y'all know, I ain'tgonna be able to go through all seventeen
of these verses. And I alsowant to say to you what I'm also
going to do this month. I'mgoing to have to put the lesson that
I've been teaching on Tuesday on theback burner about you know, life,

(16:55):
death, intermediate, resurrection, andjudgment because there's so much in here that
I need to deal with that Tuesdayis going to be inclusive of us going
through this worship and assembly lesson. So this whole month, the four weeks,
the Tuesdays and the Sundays are goingto be geared towards the worship and

(17:15):
the assembly, since we have therevival at the end of the month,
so I'm gonna put that on theback burner. God willing, we'll be
able to get through it. Inchapter one, they were divided over preachers.
Remember in chapter two he said, your faith should not stand in the

(17:37):
wisdom of men, but in thepower of God. Chapter three, they're
divided over cardinality. In chapter four, divided over a preachers being stewards.
Chapter five, there's a man that'ssleeping with his father's wife. In chapter
six, they're taking one another tocourt. In chapter seven there's issues with
marriage, and chapter eight is thefood that sacrifice the idols. In chapter

(18:00):
nine, they're questioning Paul's apostleship. In chapter ten, he tells them to
learn from Israel's history, and herewe are. In chapter eleven, he
begins in chapter one, excuse mechapter eleven verses one and two by saying,
I commend you because you've been keepingthe ordinances just as I deliver them

(18:21):
unto you. Right. But bythe time we get down the verse seventeen,
he says, I don't commend you, I don't praise you. Do
y'all see this trail. All youhave to do is look up at verse
number one, in verse number two, and then we get down the verse
number seventeen. Come on, brotherMario, I guess they're not gonna give

(18:45):
you a break. They're gonna keepletting you read. No other brother gonna
foll to read. But that's fine. You just keep doing what you're doing.
They offer to who offered brother, who'll get up there? Then if
he offered to get him up there, get up down in you offered to
do it. Come on, justtake him to mic that's all. You

(19:06):
ain't got to move all that. You can make it nice and comfortable for
him. That's the power of technology, all right, nor him. I'm
at First Corinthian chapter eleven, verseseventeen. Let the people in Facebook,
Twitter and YouTube hear another voice, and let Mary or have a chance to
take some notes. You ready,First Corinthian chapter eleven. That's right,

(19:32):
that's where we're starting, Okay inthe morning. In the following directed,
I have no praise for you.So you see how he moves from up
at the beginning of the chapter bysaying I praise you, right, But
now he's about to get into somethingand he says, I don't praise you

(19:53):
right now in giving this next instruction, I don't praise you yes for your
meeting? Do more harm than good? Have you ever asked yourself the question,
do you come to service to helppromote good in the life of other

(20:18):
believers? Are you just having aseat? Remember when I said to you,
I said, I'm not gonna beganybody to come to service. How
come I'm not gonna beg anybody tocome to service. I'm gonna beg you
to come to Jesus first, sothat when you see Jesus you don't know

(20:40):
how to come to service. Whathas happened in the body of Christ is
service is casual. That's all itis. That's all it is. Just
like some of you, you aremore gung ho and happy the frolic with

(21:07):
the group you call friends or associatesrather than be around people who believe like
you. Let me say this now, I know you you're gonna you're gonna
have a problem with me saying this, But it's for encouragement. When another

(21:32):
congregation invites our congregation, whether theycall it a fellowship, gospel meeting,
or whatever, why do you chooseto go home. Huh, But why
do you choose to go home?Because because you checked off your lists by

(21:53):
coming here in the morning. Seeyour punch list is done? And then
listen, listen. You rather gohome and do nothing than be around people
who may need your help. Buthow you gonna know if they need your
help? If you home watching TV? Because you said I fulfill my duty,

(22:18):
I can't. I checked off allthe boxes on my punch list.
I ain't going to Clayton it's toofar far. Will you drive anywhere else
that's too far? Well, I'mnot going because I don't like somebody.

(22:40):
Well, you gotta start with yourself. What is it about you that's so
likable? And why does your doyou think your invitation depending upon whether you
were liked or not. It's awhole lot of places that we're invited to
and folks don't like you. Letsomebody die in your family, You going

(23:06):
to the funeral? And if peoplein your own family don't like you,
but you going, Oh my goodness. You got people at your job don't
like you, but you say theaim dame. They're not signing my PreCheck,
so I'm going to work. Well, the person you don't like at

(23:29):
another congregation. Let me ask youa simple question. The person you don't
like at another congregation, if that'syour reason why you're not going, Were
they on Gogolfer? Huh? Werethey the one who went through a kangaroo
court, was beating on the backstrip, naked, crown of thorns pressed

(23:53):
on their head. Were they theone that said, Father, forgive them,
they know not what they do?Were they the ones that said,
Father, into thy hands, Icomend my spirit. Were they them?
If they weren't the one who saidthat, then you got the problem right
now. That's listen. That's whyI'm here, because we can all have

(24:21):
a problem because what happened is wegot comfortable with the punch list rather than
listen to this, listen to this. You will never find a perfect congregation,
and I'm using the word perfect twoways. You'll never find a sinless
congregation, and you'll never find acongregation with absolute mature people. So why

(24:48):
don't you just tell the truth andsay I didn't go because I didn't want
to go? Just hold up andafter you say because you didn't want to
go, now you got to balancethat out with well, why did you
want to go? On? Vacation. But you didn't want to be around
your brothers and sisters. But yetyou saying Amen to the resurrection, where

(25:11):
you're gonna be around other brothers andsisters. I told you, I told
you you ain't. I told youyou probably gonna have a problem with me
today. That's why I told youI loved you before I got started.
So now you have to ask yourself. Listen, I'm not saying you have

(25:33):
to go. I'm not saying youhave to go, So don't don't try
to presuppose what I'm saying or putwords in my mouth. I'm not saying
you have to go. I'm sayingis your reasoning a true reason? Or
is it your own personal selfishness that'skeeping you away? Let me tell you

(26:00):
this. Let me tell you this. When you begin to understand being free
in Christ, you don't put yourselfin bondage to nothing? What do I
mean by you don't put yourself inbondage to nothing? All of y'all that

(26:21):
went home last week, what didyou do that was profitable? Anybody tell
me anything you did that was profitablewhen you went home and then go to
the fellowship. Huh, you wenthome and watched TV, you went home
and went to sleep. Maybe someof y'all went to work and made some
money. What did you really dothat was profitable? Maybe some of you

(26:45):
listened to it on the live stream. I don't know. God bless you
if you did. But what didyou really do? So now you're sitting
over here when me or Arnald appreciateabout love, mercy, peace and pace
and getting along and you not evenmanifesting it. We're saying, hey,

(27:07):
we got people's ear. We're saying, hey, there, some people seem
like they moving in that direction. But then we got some of us that
will still say, I ain't goingover there forget them. I ain't gonna
show no brotherly love. I'm notgonna show how peaceable I am. Listen,
I'm not going to show how thisteaching has changed me. Don't you

(27:34):
know? You may be able totalk to somebody and reach somebody as a
brother or sister that won't listen tome. Then I said, all that
that's Reggie talking. But then youmay be able to talk to them.
They be like, you know what, I see it now, I hear
what you're saying. I'm starting tosee you know, can we talk about

(27:55):
this some more. Some of youare more socialistic with people of the world
than you are with your own brothersand sisters in Christ. Donfone. I
don't know what I do with howshe Lo. Now, I don't know

(28:22):
what I do is aws low owLo
