Speaker 1 (00:07):
Excuse the lighting. It's that I don't know what to do.
It's like it's with the lighting. It's just like not,
was that better? I guess it's better.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Hi.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
I'm James Augenius the When Calls Hard after show here
on jail J Media, and I thought this last episode
deserved us. It's gonna be a quick regaction video because
I'm meeting with mister Brian Bird tonight live. You can
join us this channel jail J Media YouTube. Just go
click out. You'll see what we'll see. We're live and
you can talk to us. That's at six pm Pacific,
(00:38):
nine Eastern. Was about the whole season included this episode,
but I thought this episode still deserves something on.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Its own episode.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Twelve season twelve tell You Something, twelve seasons, twelve finales,
and this show still managed to surprise me twice, and
that's a nice that's nice. I like that twelve season.
(01:09):
I like that they surprised me. One big thing is
this season, the episode was going mightily along. It was
pretty upbeat and loving and we have the you know,
we have the uh bass you and hiking them. The
town comes together and gives them. They're finding their honeymoon.
She'll be in Miami. The kids are graduating, everybody's kind
(01:32):
of doing okay. They find the gold coins and we
like just like it was just like it was all
kind of like good. You know, Oliver first size of sabotage,
he likes Sally is this thing, but then he comes
back around he can stay like everything's kind of going everybody.
They're literally dancing at the forty three mark or whatever.
(01:53):
I'm looking on Okay, we have like ten minutes left
of the show, and I was like, is it gonna
end like gona end on it to see here's things?
So I hadn't seen anything yet. I don't know when
they announced we're getting season thirteen. It is that exciting thing.
But I didn't know if they announced to get or
not when I was watching it, so I didn't know,
and I was like, of course they didn't know, and
(02:14):
they filmed it, so I was like, are they gonna
end this on a positive note just in case we
don't get a season thirteen and they can end like
this or I mean, I just wasn't sure, but I
was pretty I was hopeful then we getting season thirteen,
but I wasn't sure, and I'm glad we got it,
but I was just like, we have ten minutes left.
So like, so far he was kind of tied up
(02:36):
neatly in a bow. Little Jack did not see that
coming again. I was like, oh, what can he say?
He was saying that he was doing better and he's
playing in the beginning of episode like okay, yes, with
diabetes is a continuing condition, qumic condition. So it's like
but he was like, yeah, I want to live with
this and will be fine. And he didn't wake up
(03:00):
like I was scary scale my god, was scared of
she's screwing out help and then tyg it into Grandma Thornton,
remember her.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
I was like, great, you see history.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Oh she come back on the show for an episode
two next season and Fullerton is there's a better facility.
It's actual hospitals and all this stuff. And so basically
the town folk got a bad batch transit. Little Jack
needs to go, and it was just it was so
it was like so and then I mean, and then
the surprise to me on the second surprise in the episode,
(03:37):
the showcasing of Natasha Burnett, who plays Minie. She got
the spotlight this time, and when the town came together
to give her that that quilt they had made for Angela.
I was crying like a baby, just flying down my face, like,
oh my god, ed she got to really it was
(03:59):
she's the crying.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
I really started crying. I was like, oh my god,
any of us.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
I mean, I remember I had the experience with my
oh my younger daughter Manica.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
We took her to Saint John's Niversity of New York.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
And her brother and I we were we were packing
her up and we were taking to her there, and
we were buying stuff for her dorm room and having
us saying goodbye was one of the hardest things I've ever.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Had to do. And I'm like, it's just it was
just college.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
I was so happy she was in college and she's
gonna be in New York with family that I had
out there.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
And I was still like, oh my god, my baby.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
It's it's anybody who's done something or say good bye
to It's it's tough. There's just no other way around it.
It's just tough. So I get it, uh as over
would say, but she had.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
And then.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
They had her come at the end to talk to
her because Nathan and I wonder where where was Nathan,
I wonderful, get we're gonna get that story next season.
Like the you guys caught that, he was like they
couldn't find it. He was off somewhere, and I was like,
what was he off to? Because they think it's like
everything was okay, So maybe this is maybe I don't
maybe there is no story.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
There's a story there.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
I don't know, but I kind of caught like something
was off. Well we think I thought he go back
in time. I really thought it was gonna be one
of those I just but we're in Fullerton, just missed you,
sad ending, but Natasha comes out as many to bring
some food to her and they reveristed a couple of times.
(05:32):
They have this moment mother to mother and relating it
to Angela graduating off to college.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
How do you? How do you do this?
Speaker 1 (05:40):
It's all so tough, and Minnie says the best things
to her to give her encouragement, and I was crying then.
It's just it's it's tough when you think it's Elizabeth
had a real moment that she's like, I don't I
can do this, and she's like, God, is you anything
you can't handle? And she had said she just said
(06:00):
some wonderful things to her to encourage her to keep going.
And they had a moment, you know, and the question
isn't you know by God? But you know that's not
That's not the point. It's he's giving me because he
says you are his strongest soldier. It's like, that's why
he's giving it to you. It's like I was, like
(06:21):
it just it just really it hit me at home
a little bit because I have wanted some stuff with
my family healthwise, Like, okay, that's probably what it is.
We all go why got it? At some point, but
then you have to look at the bigger meaning. And
I just thought that was it. But again Natasha at
the party, I want to interview her, you know, I
talked to her. I'm gonna post season interview. I want
to probably do some postseason interviews with some people too
(06:43):
that you can't catch the season, because I know Hardy
is you my content and we can continue talking about
the show now the season's over. I can really talk
with the show with people I we're not having to hide.
You don't have to hide stuff. So stay tuned. I
know you have other shows you guys watch and listen to,
but I'm going to get them for me, for you,
and we gotta a good time with that. But she's
she was one of the breakout stars, you know. And
(07:07):
but at the end of course Nathan and Ali, do
you catch.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Her in time?
Speaker 1 (07:12):
That cars just me left just I guess I was
pick up the car I think just jumped out of
is left there. Made me laugh. But they're family. They
are a family, and I thought, I love that ending
they ride off to fix was they helped hello Jack,
And I thought that's a that's an interesting ending. I
never I didn't expect that whatsoever. But other tidbits. I
(07:37):
I want Edie and Lucas to get together. Actually I
like them. I ain't there. I think they should get together.
So I like them. I like Ali and and Oliver
love it. But they're saying Emily and I guess Timmy
and so there they said, yes, something going on there
to you. And then you saw Molly back there dance
with that dude. I want to work that. So I
(07:58):
got questions for Brian and I will ask when I
talked to him on that episode. So if you're watching
this later, there's another video that's gonna be a Me
and Brian brow. We do every we do and every
end of every season, so you can check that out.
But this I'll give it again. This is twelve years
and he still surprised me a couple of times in
a good way. And we're ging a season thirteen, so
that means this after show we'll be back doing it again.
(08:22):
God willing in twenty twenty six, and I never thought
I'd be saying I'm doing a season thirteen of a show.
It's even I've done more seasons of this show than
any other show I've ever done in my life, even
my soaks. I've done this more longer than that. So
I love your hearty. It just it's amazing. So if
