Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hello everybody, and welcome to another edition of the wind
Calls to Heart after show here on JAILJ Media. I'm
James Lodd Jr. That's a long title, but I got
say it. You know who I am, But yeah, you
know who I am. But people who don't know me
know who I am. Somebody that Hi, everybody, Hello, welcome.
I'm glad to be back back on track again. It's
Tuesday night, so I'm back on track. Pust be Monday,

(00:25):
but Monday tuesdays when like these come out. Not forgetting
to put episode off this time, but thanks for listening
and watching the show. It's a big hit for our
network here I said, we're doing it for a long
time and we appreciate each and every one of you,
every single hearty that comes through. Level of the comments,
please continue commenting. I'm trying to respond to the comments

(00:45):
that I can. I might be a little late, but
I may come back to some I see them, but
I do see them, so thank you for that. Just
a little side note next Saturday, because it is Super
Bowl Sunday, so they're very very wise to have a
special went Crosse to Heart on Saturday. So if you
didn't know that anybody does know that. Now you know it.

(01:09):
It's next Saturday and we have Melissa Gilbert Wow coming on.
And it looks like Bill's getting little bit of a
story because I will saying I'm waiting. I know we're
almost we're at the half a point of the season.
I want the Canfields to have a story. I want
Faith to have a story. I know it's a large
town now and a large cast, and I'm just hopeing

(01:30):
he we you know, some people we like some story.
But looks like Bill's getting a little bit of his
next week. And it's just so ironic because she's been
in the news a lot recently because of if they
do a remake or reboot of what should call it
a Little losson and Prairie. But it's so funny. This

(01:52):
is Michael landon junior show and she's on this so
now she's worked with both father and son on shows
on hit shows. I love it. This episode hilarious and heartwarming.
That's the two things I'll say. We're talking about episode five,
season twelve. And there were times I laughed. I literally

(02:16):
loled all over myself, ill old everywhere, and I loved
it and we laughed. I allowed you out the fought
out loud. I was like, oh my goodness. And then
our times was very sweet. And again there's movements. So
I'm liking that every episode, no matter what the tone is,
movement is happening. You like that, and I'll get sunk

(02:39):
into all that. To me, the crowning jewel of this
whole episode was the comedy stylings of Bill and Rosemary.
Oh my goodness. I laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed. Hilarious.
My girl Pascal always does it, and and Jack Righter

(03:02):
is just hilarious. And then when did you add in
Nathan to the mix. It was comedy gold almost every
sequence they had and the things they were saying to
him just it just was such it literally it was
literally funny. Like I was like, this is who wrote
the scripts? I guess you has to tell me a chat?
Who wrote the script? Hilarious? I mean, great, great fun stuff.

(03:26):
They questioned Jed, so we didn't know him a little bit.
He's like a hooker player, but he's kind of innocent.
I got I thought you might be more shady, but
he's actually kind of innocent. He got this coin in
a poker game. A back room Indian City at this place.
So but he's actually he gets keeps. He kicked out
of places because he's a he's reading cards, but he's

(03:50):
not doing it to be a card Shark's like he,
I guess he's very smart or something, so he knows
what's going on. Accounting card excuse me, so you know
it's going on. So anyway, this whole thing was like,
so they didn't go a direction I thought they were
going with him. So he's kind of innocent, but he's
some closer to finding out. This guy Toddy Toddy Davis,
Teddy Davis and I love that Rose May clearly all

(04:12):
the things I'm the one wanted to cover probably and
Bill's like, well no, me be cause I played booker
and just all the aside. But ten now for some
bad I kept losing to you, like it's all theyse
a little side and when what they do, he goes
I'll undercover like you hilarious, and they're like, yeah, he's

(04:33):
you know, he's no, he's the face of nobody would
even notice. It was like that just I mean, all
the things are saying to him were just He's like hello,
it was It wasn't contrived. Was it was just it
was really funny comedy, and I love when they can
do comedy. I mean, this shows it's fun. And so
then he goes. They get him all dressed up and

(04:53):
it all works, and he meets Toddy there of course
and gets his card at the end. So the there
is something there, so we get we're getting further along.
But to me, the best writers, there's comedy goal, there's
chemistry goal, and meeting in terms of as dueling kind
of pis. It's it is the Rosy put more Rosemary

(05:17):
and Bill together to solve mysteries. I almost want to
spin off series of those two. I'd watch it. I
totally watch it. Oh, like a spinoff movie or something.
It's it was so unexpected when it happened last year,
we were like, wait a minute, it works. It totally
totally works. The next thing was that I loved and
you know, I mentioned her last time, I mentioned her

(05:38):
many times. Kayla Wallace is back as Fiona. It's so good.
She looks great. Hi, Kayla, we love you. She looks great.
It's so good to see her. She just she comes
right back in. But there's something going on obviously, which
is just great beginning. First they tired to this girl

(05:59):
Eva I've got the last name already, sorry, kids, Ama,
who is from Baltimore, who's also an heiress, and she's
stumbling down the road and she all her trunks were
stolen and so hey, I say, Kayla. So Fionda helps
her in and we'll get to that store light in

(06:22):
a second. But Fiona, it is so nice to see her.
Everybody when it's again we have this funny stuff going on,
but her being there is heartwarming. Her unity with everybody
and hugging everybody, especially when she saw the girls may
See and Faith, it was like, yes, the three of them,
that's right. That's what we learn. It's tough being out there.

(06:44):
It's hard out there for a girl. I might little
take there French twenties. Some of you guys will get
that reference kind of um playing on the reference. It's hilarious.
But it's heartwarming. She's out there fighting the fight, the
good fight, and I like that. I like as she mentioned,
it's a little hard if you're not some rich married

(07:06):
person out there, you know, who can be financed to
go out there and continue the fight. So she's at
a crossroads apparently, But she she doesn't know she card.
She thinks she's kept it all figured out. Sell a saloon,
lea salon, the salon, get her money out of it.
They go like San Francisco, marry this guy keeps saying

(07:26):
no to you, and then so we finally should do
more good. But the way she was talking is that
she's trying to convince herself and sounds so Unfiona, like
right Fielda's never been like that at all. So mate,
She's like, okay, well, if you're happy, great faith kep
her mouth shut. She was kind of like, hmm, don't
think that's good. That's wrong. So she had so we'll

(07:50):
see what happens with her storyline coming up. I've that's
more than just a one time deal. Also, she does
have one funny part where she rents some folks at
the Hearts and she sees Lucas and Lee and there's
all this tension. My my favorite lines of the other
of the episode was does anybody meddle anymore? So like hello,

(08:15):
like they went off for weeks, does anybody middle anymore?
That made me laugh and that got hit him and
and uh Joseph kicking together, Caffriel gonna go Okay, we're
gonna do something, at which they did God, I mean Lee,

(08:37):
and I mean again. Heartwarming scene. Lucas wants to a
press release, give it the listener, she reads it. She says,
I kind of see where you're coming from, but you
need to go. Just tell Lee, you know, just tell him.
So he has he has the when he's at the
saloon and everything, he has the press Lee's and gets

(09:00):
upset the intentions there. Well, later we see that Joe
Joseph and he can have to vise a plan. Got
to the right out to a stream somewhere, and they
leave them there with the horses, take the horses. They
leave them there. Well, they make up along the way
they come back up. I'm glad. I'm glad that's finally over.
They went all wait too long for me. I don't

(09:21):
mind conflict, but I want to be friends. JOB mean,
I mean, I'm all that conflict. It was fun seeing
shady Lee for a while, But now they're understanding. They're
agreed to disagree, which whole ironic life is these days.
I always say this every season Wynn calls a heart
does do stuff that can be related to today. Wink

(09:45):
wink back to this new Abra chick. So she read
Lisbath's book and well, she claims, because we don't really
know her red Wing and she's a Aris from Baltimore.
She read the book listen realizes her Steward truck was
just like just like when I was coming, but this

(10:06):
they saw my Steward trucks just like I was coming.
I want to be a teacher too. And she's like,
you know Richard book and I want to be a
teacher and all this stuff, and it keeps it in
the homisode. It's just so interesting. Somebody reminds me of me.
I think there's something Obviously this is a drama, so
there's something up with her. Clearly we don't know yet.

(10:27):
But it's a great production because we got intrigue. Who
is she? What's going on? But also if it is,
if it is true, some of those quests that are true,
what a nice callback see when calls the heart callback,
I don't follow them today. Life's callback to her beginnings
twelve seasons ago too, which came ten someone. I figure, yeah,

(10:50):
her book was was a hit, right, so I almost
forgot she got a book out there. But she's a hit,
so I guess people would read it get inspired, and
so Lily takes it, takes to heart. You know, it's
project off with her. But I know so I'm just
like this something I'm kind of got a side on,
Like what's going on over there? I don't know what's
good for sure. One of the things was at the

(11:12):
end of the episode that Lisen Rosemary talking about. She's like,
you know, what would you say to your younger self?
And once we would have somebody reflected back to you,
reminds you of you for a long time ago, And
Rosemary and maybe laughed. She's like, no way I would.
I could have would listened to nobody in my younger self,
not you're myself. I was like, that's like, and fucks,
that's a good questions to all of you out there,

(11:33):
just a little side notes. So that's what I because
I had somebody asked you this question once. It was like, James,
what would you say to your fourteen year old self?
And and it's one of those things I mean for
I mean, that's for me, that's forty some years ago fourteen,
but it's any age you know where we are right now.
Just subtract twenty years or thirty years. If you are
that old and you know we have I know we

(11:55):
have younger arties too, but even you five ten years
were a younger party. Like, what would you tell yourself?
That's a really interesting thing. I might do an episode
on that now on this show, but one my other
show down episodes on that, Like what did I say
to myself? I don't know. One of the main things
that comes up for me is that you will survive.
You will go through a lot of stuff and you
will survive. James, I guess that's it, and you'll have

(12:16):
some fun along the way. Well I still so, I'm
still pondering that answer. I don't I don't know what
I would say to myself. Yes, no, no, But that
was kind of fun, and that all kind of ties
into the Alley storyline. She's growing up, her lacking Wyat.

(12:37):
They went a direction I didn't expect. So Wyatt kind
of a footloot, fancy free kind of guy hitting on
Eva and this p sees this. I was like, oh
my god, it's so eady. And she was like, damn good.
She was like she was not she was not having it.
I thought she saw right through you. I was like, okay,
She's like She's like, you know, he's a kid or

(12:59):
some she was, I have it. He tried but it
didn't work, and uh but he tells Allie, which is
so sad. Of course she asked him for a pick
thic and he was like, you're you're not my speed.
But we got out of that was because Oliver was
in the episode and they would have were mapping, so
like we went Oliver and her and Allie right, and
so we want rite anybody Oliver and I'll say that

(13:21):
five times fast, Oliver and Alie, Allie, Oliver and Alie Alie, Alie,
I get my I gave my my tongue to that.
So that's what we want. So that's that's what we
want and everything. So that's all that's kind of said.
But I love her talk with Elizabeth at the end
because it's throughout the episode. It was kind of like,
you know, for a little Jack, you call me missus
Thornton at at school only, but I'm Mama at home

(13:44):
everywhere else. And Ali and her talking after an awkward
thing earlier, and she just realized this because if I
was a little Jack, I call you mom all the time.
So they have wisely and they have shown us that
Ali and Elizabeth have been growing and have been establishing

(14:05):
a relationship. This is this doesn't feel forced, doesn't feel
it feels natural, and she's like, I want she didn't
call me Elizabeth. So that's why I say, Mama less
bit to mama. Lisbeth's say you call me Elizabeth, and
and Alie likest. That was very sweet. And I mean, again,
the girl plays Ali is so good. She's she's really

(14:25):
really really good. Yeah. So I think that's everything. Yeah,
that's everything. It was a great episode, another great day
episode of several storylines and several moods, and I just
this show is so good. A twelve season in, I'm
still excited to watch. So next Saturday, James Lodd Junior

(14:51):
is celebrating ten years as a host. I'm going back
to my original show that I first did call Audition Days,
and they're still going my mom showing more obviously, but
I'm going back for they said, I have a big celebration,
a big special episode. Next Saturday. We're meeting in person

(15:13):
in LA which is kind of crazy, and so my
anniversary is right after that. It's a couple of days
after that weekend I had guest hosted on their second
episode and went to after Buzz TV maybe remembers after
Bus TV, and that's where I met Marissa Sarafini, who's

(15:33):
engineer and producer at the time, and she produced one
of my shows and that's how we met and became friends.
And that was ten years ago. And so I'll be
doing a special on my channel special ten year anniversar
nay for myself also, but next Saturday, I'll be doing that.
So but I think I'm maybe on Sunday's Super Bowl.
So I'm hoped to get this an episode out within

(15:55):
a few days after I good chance to watch it
on We'll trying to watch this Sunday morning, force your
Ball and then maybe I'll do an episode then or
Mondays like that. But it'll be an episode coming out.
But I remind me Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, it's not Sunday
and Saturday. I gotta check my DVR make sure it
totally picks it up next Saturday at seven in Pacific

(16:17):
se Pacific. But I again, I would not be here
for all of you, especially the early heartys. I seriously
would not be here because I just I'm amazed that
in my forty in my late forties, I found a
new career and it has been the most interesting, I'll

(16:41):
say that, good and bad, most interesting experience in my life,
and I'm happy to still be here doing it for
