Speaker 1 (00:02):
I know I'm late this week, but I have good reason. Hi,
welcome to the wedd CAUs the heart after show here
until jacimedia, but I watched the episode last Saturday. But
try to get to this to do it. And so
I had a roof cave in in my house, so
(00:23):
part of my roof cave in, so I had sheets
of water coming in my house. So I was dealing
with that for the last week. And the rain just
ended this morning, so it s has been something else.
So I've been dealing with that all week. And I
talked to a roofing company, which I got one here
in La. We had I mean, we need the rain.
(00:45):
We needed it. My garden, I know, was happy, it
was really happy. But the inside of my house isn't.
So I have lots of water damage and all kind
of stuff going on, and I need a new roof
at the tune of thirty thousand dollars. So Monday I
don't have. But God is good, we will provide. We're
(01:06):
gonna work it out. I forgot a way to work
it out, because you need a roof over your head
literally to live. That's why like watching this show, and
this show calms me down and I get to learn
some life lessons and have some fun. That's you know,
real life be a little crazy. But this has been good.
I'll be good. So hello Harty's Episode six. We're halfway
(01:29):
through the season of season twelve. It was a special
Saturday episode, Very Smart and the super Bowl with Sunday
Very Smart and I got to watch it and so
a fun episode. We got Melissa Gilbert Royalty Royalty. She
got to work with Michael landon Senior and Junior. How
ironic is that? But it's a royalty and everything she's
(01:52):
on the show. We also now we're in fall and
we're really following following Ali and her journey. And then
we got Elizabeth and Nathan having some cookie moments due
to some cold and flu issues. So one of the
storylines and it's become I guess it's like a a
(02:15):
lot of shows, how like an a story of B
story see story kind of that. I guess Alie is
kind of a B C B story because she's not
really She's getting more and more attention and the actress
always I keep praising her. She's so great. I gotta
get her on the show. I've never I've never met her,
can get on the show and we're showing Alie nurse
her her Wyatt situation, and I started to embrace her
(02:41):
Oliver situation, which they are after this episode. How can
you not like them together? They're the cutest like couple
like ever. I thin they're so sweet together. We haven't
had anything since this Sorry why text me as as
I'm talking, of course to my phone is not on
(03:02):
silent silence your phones now, No, it's you know, And
we haven't had anything since Clara and like young love
God a long time. I'm thinking about what might take
Clara went back then. Hmm, yeah, I haven'ything we had
anything since we or anything since then. Really not really really.
(03:23):
There are some attempts, but anyway, you guys will tell
me in the in the comments. But anyway, so it's
it's just been. It's been fun to watch her journey
because she's because she's quite the leading young lady so
and I love that she's also spirited. And one of
the things about this show that I really noticed in
(03:44):
this episode strong women's show start that way. I remember
start out that way. It's always been the women are
as strong as the men, and and I can only
imagine a real life as I'm looking right now, I've
been looking into my own history, my family history, and
(04:05):
I'm in. I'm in like the nineteen twenties, nineteen hundreds,
and live in the eighteen late eighteen eighties and nineties.
The women in my family were strong too. I mean
I knew my great grandmother one of them, so as
so far as back I can go, like Nick knowing them,
and she was strong. She has four foot nothing, but
she was stronger than the rest of us. I mean,
(04:25):
I imagine these women back then had to be stronger
and strong as the man. And this show always shows
in a positive light. So I see why women love
the show, and it shows you in a positive light. No,
none all shows do that. I do the soap operas
(04:46):
and the subs are almost the opposite. So this is
a nice change. But with Allie especially, she's the size
to continuing that whole project, and so she's really worried
about the salmon and because they're not swimming upstream and
the water is just really gross, and she embarks on
(05:10):
a mini adventure that actually could change the course of
some things in the region, which is a great message
to people like you know you you fight for something
you believe in, You gather information, you do all the
things you're supposed to do that you might be able
to affect change. And I think it's still to today
right so to day and her and Oliver, who's just
(05:33):
like just the sweetest thing on the earth. Course they
get to they hang out and there and he goes
and he's gonna go along with it and helped test
the water and figure what's going on. And through the
course of this adventure, which includes a little trespassing, we
see some boots. My friend who's in the sowboard always says,
when they show you something, hold on to that memory
(05:56):
because it probably used later. They don't just do stuff
for giggles. It's gonna be that those those blue swater
that means something later. And it turns out the cattle
he's all about that, He's how about that land at
time period, that land up there. It's like having the
cattle crossing is messing up the water, which is making
(06:17):
the water warmer, creating algae salmon like cold water. And
then now the bears and wolves that she's all into
can't eat. It's like the whole ecosystem going on. And
I love the way explain it. So's so simple that
I mean, if anybody can my three year old can
understand it is a simple. While they're having a moment,
(06:38):
it was interesting because I found myself yelling at the
TV because he said, we learned more about Oliver. His
mother is in prison and it affects how he looks
at himself. And I thought, wow, that's a great message
to kind of work on. And I kept saying, Alie,
tell him your father is in prison too. She didn't
(06:58):
then because she was still, you know, she felt some
kind of way, and she kind of was like, well,
let's go back to go home or whatever. They definitely
have a moment in a moment, but it's like there's
a fun part where Nathan and I been to I
have two daughters to understand this. Nathan really is trying
(07:21):
to figure this out, like how to help her get
through the broken heart thing and how she moved forward
and e Lizabeth at first was able to help him
a little bit. Then she got sick. You could do
much with that, but it's it's later she realizes she
(07:44):
should be kind of Oliver her obviously, and she opens
up to him at the stable, say about that that
Nathan's not her dad. He's an adopted her. He says
uncle and all thing, that her dad's in prison. I thought,
there you go, there you go. What a huge storyline.
So they had a moment at the end there too,
So I'm looking for it. I'm all about I'm all
(08:05):
about them. They can they can get together, all about them,
small little tidbit, we got a little piece of Eva one,
the hilarious Rosemary. She only plays one song on a
piano like gu's own over again, but she's mysterious. So whatever,
her trucks came up and at least like like he
(08:29):
could open it was up to her open and everything,
and she looks at it and it's men's clothes. I
have no idea what her story could be. I mean
I was trying to think, well, it gives us a
clue of something, but I'm like, but then I was like,
didn't make suit come to town too? Because she was
running form a rex husband, Like is there a I mean,
there's something. This is a common theme back then where
(08:49):
the women are trying to do with these crazy men
that was going on. Was he your next husband or
abusive boyfriend? Or what does she do? So I'm really curious, Yeah,
what's gonna happen with that? Because I'm like, I don't
get it. Hm, So that's what we don't know, what's
wrong with her with that? Trying to think of some
of the smaller storylines. Somebody, someone in the comments last
(09:14):
week mentioned this week, and I said, I don't the
can Feels have a story? Where's their story? And actually,
and you're right. Whoever I forgot who wrote in the comment,
thank you for writing any comments, but you're right. I
think it's coming up with Angelo going to the Sportsman
College and interesting that Joseph went behind Minies back to
(09:34):
get the brochure a book of tour. Watching them navigate
that maturely as a couples was very nice because Joseph
knows it's funny. He's he's he's navigating that world. He
knows that it's his daughter. And Minnie is apprehensive of
(10:02):
her going off. You know, Mini's like, I want to
have her own life, and I totally believe that it's
just supposed to be scary. She's blind, you know, we
know this is not today, you know, just back then,
And so I see why she's apprehensive. While she's a
little nurse about it. Plus just your baby, you know,
you're first born going off somewhere by yourselves. But Joseph
(10:23):
was so positive, just like we raised her to be
this way. She takes after you all these things, and
I just they're so loving with each other. And I
just love when he said that and goes, Okay, she
looks at she looks at the brochures and it was
a very nice mentioned Helen Keller, and she said, you know,
should we pray on it? And she says always. And
(10:43):
I was gonna a little tear in my eye. I
have to admit I like that. That was just like,
that's what they were doing. He's he's a preacher and
she's the wife and and of course I talked to
God all the time for things, and she was just
she was like but he was like she was, and
I pray about it and she's like, always us do that.
And because it's gonna be, I think it's gouna be.
Oh my gosh, i'd probably be one of those sad,
(11:05):
heart wrenching scenes later. Oh my goodness. But I it's
amazing when he showed the kids, all of them, they're
just growing up before our eyes. In opole. It's just grown.
I mean just it's like my own kids and whenever grandkids.
It's just crazy. So that's so that's the sign, you're right.
So I think that's coming up. The Melissa Gilbert was
(11:28):
we'll talk about what's about her last. We'll get to well,
no one gets this her second last, we'll get to
her second or last. Joseph and Fiona had a moment.
I think I don't remember really talking like it was
kind of funny. He walks in while she's shooting up
the place and tomorrow she's gonna sell and everything, and
I was like, they don't really they don't really have
(11:49):
scenes together way often. And Fiona was kind of a
side character at first. Today on this episode, going today,
on this episode she helps Rosemary with the radio and
all that. But it was like it was a real
moment and she says something. Here we go talking about
(12:13):
a proposal. She says, I know what I want, I
just don't know how to get there. That's I felt that,
did you feel that parties? That's that I had times
in my life where I felt that it's like I
have an idea kind of what I want, I just
don't know what the pathway is there, and I thought, wow,
(12:39):
that's that's very interesting. And he says doing God's work
requires sacrifice, but not too much. Equally is profound and
almost said that correctly if I if I, if I
got the wording wrong, you can tell me in the chat.
I just I was like, both profound things. And I
have a lot of friends going through right now going
(13:00):
through that, whether it was the strikes were on and
try to get you know, work, whether it's the fires,
you know, whatever is going on. It's it's everybody's people
like crossroads and you have to you kind of know
what you want to do, but it's like how what
exact way do you get there? And sometimes things present themselves,
(13:21):
Like I always say, not all money is good money,
not all opportunities are good opportunities. They maybe disguise themselves
like that at first, but you have to really dig
deep in there and find what fits for you. It's
so true, so true. But I'm just like, oh, it's
a nice little moment. Oh yeah, there's a there's a yes,
(13:48):
there's another Okay, yes. So the two big storylines obviously
are well three of the last three big things that
really happened Throughout the episode, the probably the A stories
and be stores, Rosemary uh creating the daily dialogue with
Fiona and decided to use the kids because she had
to take oncau It was got sick. We've never seen
(14:10):
this mis sick. It was kind of funny. And to
go to kids and bring them to Lucas with their
issues and it was really good. And you know, edyone's
so funny. You doesn't want them to do it all
that stuff, but you know, but you know, Lucas does it.
And Ali's whole findings the map and everything, which that's
(14:31):
what softigns are to. Oliver really made an impression on Lucas.
But I have to laugh at the beginning when they
were clearing out the office so you can have an
office there again the haze. We saw Henry for a
second call the kids squirrels and that's not Dallas. That
was kind of funny too. That well, that was kind
of fun I'm loving the way they talk about this
radio thing and are you going to keep the newspaper
(14:52):
and it's radio. This it's very cute because we're just
laughing like, well, you know, radio will last for another
at least eighty years. I mean, I know there are
news vers out there, and the other day I was
almost bought a newspaper. It's so expensive, are you and
your name in La? The La Times? It's not like
(15:13):
it used to was. I'm like, that's it's kind of
And we have a think called Daily Breeze here in
South LA and they're kind of expensive and they're so
like thin. I used to love newspaper. My stepfather who
made recipes, love newspapers. And I almost bought one to
read it, actually read it. I mean, I'm just like,
I don't know, it's just stated. I'm old school at
(15:35):
the old school stuff. But HEREM so on that. And
of course I love radio a radio guy, as I
started on radio, as I'm celebrating next week, not this week,
but next week, I'm celebrating ten years as a video
and TV and radio host. I can't believe it. And
I'll talk more. I'm a good show on That's about
how that, But I can't believe it. I'm celebrating ten
(15:57):
years this month, uh doing this and I just think
after Bus TV where this all started for me, and
Adrenaline and Adrenaline Radio where I started for me on
radio same year I wouldn't be here and just goes
to the show. I was in my late forties, you guys,
in my late forties when I started God Bless America.
(16:20):
I'll tell you that. So almost say Gilbert as a spector.
Miguel and her and Bill trained a lot time ago.
Did you see chemistry? I saw chemistry. I saw chemistry,
which is so funny because did not expect us at all.
Completely they touched on it, a completely touched on it.
(16:41):
He brought up his you know, he brought up Nora like, oh,
I got it go and just and she had a child.
All this they brought up all this old stuff. But
they talked about how she wanted you my apparently she
wanted him and and he wasn't but he knew it.
But he was in the middle of something else. You know.
Bill's retired and and he's just there to help people.
(17:04):
And they decide to go continue this search this storyline.
We have me in this through line about the Great
American Train Robbery. They're gonna go see this guy Studdy
Garrison to ask questions about Toddy Davis. And I love
the old trains. I love I love all that stuff
I do. I love it and that's when I start
talking and she mentions, like all the condets and see again,
strong woman. All the cadets saw her as a woman.
(17:28):
And if she said except for you or whatever, I
was like, oh, I thought I saw. But there's some
gametry in there. And he's like, no, I noticed. But
later he explains why. And and I feel like there
could be something for Bell. I mean, you know, we
won't be able to have a relationship. I do. I
want to have a little romance. He's one of my
favorite characters. He's just so cantankerous, and but he cares
(17:51):
to you at the same time. Uh, you be a
little grumpy, that's how that's that's that's curmudge. That's fine.
But I do go and talk to guy. They work
and they work really well together, and some out information
and this is fun like that, that was that was funny.
You love me some Bill and Rosebery. But this was
a good little offshoot. I love this. I love this
(18:13):
whole story. So I'm I'm all in. But that then
we got uh, Elizabeth is sick and we get to
see and so they they kept mentioning sterns My god,
I wrote this down. Stern's cold remedy. Well, folks, it
(18:37):
was real, so you got me do it already. It
was I thought it's sound familiar. It was a real
cold medicine back in the day. And they have stuff
out there now and they use things like peppermint. You
can lip this things like our healing properties. But there
are there is a Stern's cold medicine out there. So
it was kind of funny that that was something we
were talking about. Him showing it her dage, her us
(19:00):
with data, her dreaming. I was like, something, this was
something new for went calls to heart the camera angles
and kind of like you know, whimsical stuff and her
being loopy on on everything and first Rosebery trying to
help her with the grilled cheese sounds and her trying
to do stuff for Ali. But there is some shade thrown, folks,
(19:21):
a little shade. And I had to chuckle later when
Nathan was coming, He's coming in check on her and stuff.
And when they were talking about Ali and broken hearts,
Liz what tells a story about her first broke herd
in high school and mentioned the guy and stuff, and
she did she asked him, you know, you know what
was your great you know broke her from great love.
He says, besides you like shady shady, shady shady shady.
(19:50):
I had had chuckle because it did work out. Obviously
they're together, but I was like, oh, go on writing.
Then I said, you guys say that in there, they're
not we're not. They're not pretending that that didn't happen.
So that's kind of a good thing, right and up pretending. Yeah,
that's fun. But she feels better in the end. Of course,
he gets sick. He has a weird dream about or
(20:12):
two and then he gets sick at the end. That's
how it ends. It was a fun episode. We're having
through the season and I feel like we're doing good.
We have some you know, we're seeing lots of Nathan
and Elizabeth. We know that they're they're out there doing stuff.
Ali's a great storyline Fioda. We're curious what she's going
to do. Happy to have her back where it is.
I wait to see if Henry gets anything, and he's
so far he's not really well. He and Joseph really
(20:33):
get together do that hazelnut business and stuff, wanting to
do something together because he's not really he's kind of
just there as a go to person. I know the
town is so big that you want to see so
many storylines, and still I still want Fate to have
a storyline. She's not really hanging a storyline. I have
a storyline. But I love the show. I do, and
it's the bright spot of my week. Besides my roof
(20:56):
caving and stuff. That was my bright spot. So I'll
take it. I guess, like this Sunday another episode, I'll
try to get out sooner like I like I normally do.
I'm trying to do it because now it's not rating
any more in LA and I'm getting my roof and
get it fixed something about a month. But hopefully I'll
be able to watch my show in piece and give
you guys a reaction to it halfway through the season. Kids,
(21:18):
I love you, guys. Talk to you next time.
