According to a document written in Latin and dated 1385, a Llopart family’s ancestor, Bernardus Leopardi, was granted some vineyards located in the present country estate Can Llopart de Subirats.
Over the following centuries the Llopart family combined the cultivation of traditional agricultural Mediterranean products: grapevine, wheat and olive.
At the end of the XVIII century the Lloparts decided to devote themselves exclusively to wine growing.
The secular dedication to vine cultivation, elaboration and wine growing reaches its turning point, after intense testings, with the production of the first Sparklilng Wine Llopart bottles at the old country house cellar in 1887.
In the early 1950s, Pere Llopart i Vilarós gave his cellars a new drive. He actively contributed in launching the “craft sparkling wine” and consolidated cava Llopart as a high quality product.

part. It's a family winery.We were established in eighteen eighty seven.
It's more than a hundred thirty fiveyears that we produced the first of all
of a sparkling wine. Right,and where exactly are you? We are

very close to Barcelona at Penedes area, in suwedat Suwastown. And how many
hectors or how many acres do youhave? So we have five hundred acres
terms a hundred, two thousand,two hundred acres, ACT one thousand acres
Goodian forests, Yeah yeah, Mediterraneanforests as well. Yeah, so we

did. So you're part of statecompress five hundred acres and from that two
hundred for two hundred fifty acres oforganic mountain pineers lovely, very good,

the smell of the harvest time whenI was kid, so maybe this isn't
my first memory the first one.And what was the first memorable wine that

you drank? Um? I recalledthe emersion that I felt when I was
around ten years that I taste forthe first time the loop party at Christmas
time during the lunch and well,for that time, it was the first

time that my parents let me participatein the smelling and tasting of that wine
at the age of ten. Yeahthat nowadays we don't really do that.
We do a smell and taste alittle. Sorry, that's good. So
what we can really see here inthe Pendent Dayes region is the wine culture
is actually in the family as well. Now of course, yeah, I

don't think it's very important. Sotraveling around the world, which is the
best foreign wine you've ever drunk?Oh? Well, um, I really
like the sweet wines. And forexample, I can't remember that the taste

very proud of the aging potential thatthey have very long aging, sparkling wines
that we make, that they willbe in the party exerty original right,
And you believe in the perfect variety. I really believe in the local varieties

such as Turello, Macao, Monasterilfor dorose for example. So the doctor
and grapes of our area. Wehave proven that they they are the most
representative of our ti war and sothey are the more resilients also to the
challenge of the global warming, sowhich is a big problem at the moment.

(06:58):
It is and it will be inthe future. Be more right.
And what's your opinion? Trick questionnow because this is a bit of a
difficult one. And what is youropinion about wine critics and scores? Oh
well, so we have a lotof respect for them, of course,
and they helped us to promote ourwines by quoting them at their reviews.

So the maximum respect and really gladfor the job, of course. So
now now get a little bit personaland now getting down to wine. What
do you prefer? Do you preferwhite, red or rose? I prefer
white wine, yeah, and stillor sparkling, and I prefer sparkling.

(07:45):
And if if we talk about sparklingwine on a on a world view,
would you be tasting champagne or wouldyou be tasting another type of sparkling?

paired a white wine with meat anda red wine with fish? Several times?

Because I really like the contrast drinkfood and drink so and have you
ever had too many glasses or toomany bottles of wine? Oh? Well?

your remedy for the for a hangover? Well, the best I think is
to to remember to drink water duringduring the festivity, during the dinner of
the lunch. Is that one oneor two one? Or would be one

And also I should say that Ithink that for the hunger work would
be a glass of grape juice.Grape juice. Yeah, I think you've
got lovely grape juice. Now you'vegot yeah, you've got a grape juice

juice m most the worst that it'sit's really I would not gwind so juice
that we were producing. And Ithink the money for that goes to a
project now for the children with canceror something for to invest for the the
child the child's cancer. And forexample, and if obviously there are lots

of non drinkers, people that donot drink wine, and what would a
non drinker lose out on buy nottasting your wine so well to having I
could say that having a glass ofyour party, it's a great experience that
involved you not only the all thefive cents, so also that brings you

a trip to the region. UmSo in every sip you could see the
beautiful landscape as meldo nature, sowhere the grapes ground from, transfer yourself
to the Mediterranean. Um so,that's the something that probably so it could
be the solution for to avoid thatdon't taste it. Yeah, so it's

probably the having a look at theessence of the wine, not just the
alcohol, because obviously there are peoplethat cannot drink and there are people that
do not want to drink. Andof course all we have our grape juice
so it's one hundred percent alcohol freeand it's vegan, so fee free organic,
so so then they have a goodoption to try. And then we

love imagining things here at wine soundright, and we're gonna we're gonna take
our imagination to a place now,which is you imagine that space aliens come
down on your property and they landin the middle of a vineyard and you

want to give them some wines totaste. Which wines from your cellar would
you give them? Probably? SoI would start with the Chorello juice.
So I don't know if they canhave alcoholic beverage, so probably Probably they're
driving as well, and parlier Iwould start with that. And if they

(11:33):
lack, and I see that theyalready just turned to that, so probably
I will continue with the Spiklas orsome sta wines. Also, each vintage
is a different story, right,Every vintage changes. We know that now
that obviously over the past years here, but as we've seen how these vintages

change or do they are they didthey really change a lot? Or are
they more or less consistent constant?Well, easbut it's a different story definitely.
But there are of course things thatrepeat every year. Um, so
you can taste the nuances of eachbeing touch much better in the single grade

winds than into the blends. Butof course there is the differences. Do
you have any and like good luckrituals when the harvest starts? So the

the harvest, and nowadays, wellwe have we continue having a festivity.

you're when you're not working, howdo you actually spend your free time like

And who's who's your favorite singer orgroup? I like rock, like Bruce

would like to explore New Zealand becausemaybe that the area that it's more far
away from where we are so brilliant. So what we're gonna do now is

So let's go with Maccavello first ofall, Um Maccavell, so with
