Podcasting since two thousand and five. This is the King
of Podcasts Radio Network, kingo Podcasts dot Com.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
I recorded this on my for you page on TikTok
earlier today. But we just put themselves into a corner
now going up against college football in prime time. It's
an impossible fee by having their animosity towards ae W.
They have just heard themselves in the process. It's an
unforced error on their part. And Tony Kahn is none
(00:28):
the wiser. Whoa ed isn't the name you bought reckqu
and believe it or not, Whether you like it or
don't like, you learn.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
To love it because you have listened to Wrestling and Real.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
It is the best day going to day.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
WHOA a worldwide leader of podcasting excellence. The King of
Podcasts Radio Network probably presents the Wrestling Is Real podcast
because Wrestling Nave sucks.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
This is episode nine hundred and fifty six of the
residents are podcast Is King of Podcasts Here with you.
Welcome to the program. Chi of Podcasts dot Com is
where you find everything on yours truly. So here's what
we got this week. A lot to cover. The Judah
delusional fandom right now is probably talking about one of
two things. Number One, tonight, they're probably panning the continued
(01:25):
residency of AW at the twenty three hundred Arena, the
former ACW Arena in Philadelphia, and what they're doing on
their programming. They're leading up to All Out in Toronto
coming up in two weeks roughly two weeks time, and
that aj Lee is now beneficially announced to be returning
(01:45):
and joining Campunk Intermax tag team match against against seth
Ronins and Becky Lynch at Russell Paloozo. And then the
other announcements that came out today are that AW with
their All Out pay per view is going to be
airing on HBO Max for the first time because finally
after the start of the year, the announcement that was
(02:08):
made with a new broadcast still from Warner Brothers Discovery
that AW was gonna be able to go and have
their shows their pay per reviews available on HBO Max.
The program has been there on HBO Max since day
one January, but now the pay per reviews have that
W been available on the platform thirty nine ninety nine
to catch it on there on an additional cost to
the HBO Max subscription, so you got that they're going
(02:30):
on for you as well, and the fact that AW
has also chosen to move the scheduled bell time of
their pay per review at three o'clock in the afternoon,
just like it did when they had a good deal
with NXT. Great working bash works to me with a
Saturday night it's be an event back in July that
was going up against All in Texas, and All in
(02:53):
Texas ran at three o'clock, which is arguably their biggest
show of the year at one hundred and eighty thousand buys.
Looks like they did find with me fine by me,
it looks like and by everybody else's estimations. And then
that's one thing for W to go encounter program in
the middle of summer when all there is is baseball
(03:15):
and there's no other sports that are really going to
be countering up against anything else, like just nothing else
on television at that time anyway. But in September, it's
a different story. We have just started college football season.
Professional football starts tomorrow's record, and I don't understand if
W did not understand what they were getting themselves into,
(03:37):
because we're seeing chess moves in real time by both
of these companies. Tony Kahan is basically playing defense by
not engaging in the warfare that WWE wants them to play.
They don't want to do it. Okay. This is like
(03:59):
the movie war Game. Shall we play a game at chess? Well,
that's what w wants to want to try to go
and do. There, Joshua Falcon, they're trying to go and
do it. Okay, So now, right now, the pollment is
this and I brought this up on on TikTok feed
earlier today because what w doesn't realize, AW is now
able to go ahead and make the announcement for HBO Max.
So the interest in wrestling on that day is gonna
(04:21):
be there. It's gonna be pretty big. And by moving
the pay per view to earlier in the afternoon, it's
not even counterprogramming away from the head to head competition
that w is trying to get. But what the w
just did to themselves is put themselves in a quandary
(04:43):
because yes, they're gonna get this pay per view out,
and I don't think they realize the ramifications of what
they're doing with this pay per view outside of their
own animosity towards AW. What they don't realize they just did,
is that they have other competition to worry about, and
they're not paying attention to that at all. Primetime college football,
(05:08):
they're not paying attention to that at all. Now in
the current setup of college football, a lot of the
national televised games, the times for those games have not
been set because the networks will do that and determine
that later on. But there are a number of games
coming up in college football the week of September twentieth,
(05:28):
and I don't realize, I don't know if nobody really
realizes what they put themselves into. So we can go
through all that and explain what there is here, what
the schedules look like. So there is a full slate
of football games, but it's what's going to be on
(05:49):
and what likely will be head to head with Russell Palooza,
because at three o'clock in the afternoon, Yeah, that's probably
going to be a good chance that there will be
games at three thirty or college football to catch coming up.
But Week four of college football, it's going to that
real quick. Week four of college football season begins like this,
(06:14):
So there are games scheduled to probably run at either
three thirty PM or eight pm on Saturday. There's Ole
Miss in Tulane, which is a great little SEC you know,
Robert Willike gets an American commerce team. You got Auburn
at Oklahoma, which is a big SEC battle that's gonna
(06:34):
get some good coverage somewhere. I don't know which channel
will get it, but that's a big game, and I
doubt it it'll be a three thirty PM Eastern game.
I believe that game will probably be on primetime pre
either CBS three thirty or maybe the eight o'clock slot,
But I don't think CBS has a game on primetime
(06:57):
that night. I don't know if they do. But there
are two other games that are gonna be going on
at the same time. One of them is Well, there
could be Produe at Notre Dame that's actually a three
thirty game, gets a very national following Notre Dame, just
you know. Then you have a couple of the games
later on the night, Oregon State at Oregon. It's a
(07:18):
big RIVL game that might be a primetime game. It
might more likely be at ten o'clock at night West
Coast game. Then you have number five Miami University of
Miami against Florida number thirteen. That game will probably be
on ESPN or ABC eight o'clock Eastern, and that gets
(07:40):
a great audience. And then the other game you're gonna
have at the same time, North Carolina against UCF, which
is Bill Belichick's team. You're gonna see how they're gonna
play against them. Michigan State at usc also a big game.
Could also be a primetime game or B three thirty,
but most likely it will be eight o'clock or later
on at night. And these are all the games that
(08:02):
are going to be going up against Wressell Palooza in
prime time. The other game they have to worry about
Texas ticket Utah also top twenty five on the schedule,
and more importantly in Indiana itself, Illinois at Indiana number
eleven in Illinois at number twenty three Indiana, and that's
(08:24):
a game that's going to be going on about an
hour south of Indianapolis where Wressell Puluis is going on.
And I'm pretty sure that Indiana is gonna have a
pretty packed house for that game that night. That's a
big rivalry game as well. Not just just to get
the context. Since July, the Illinois Indiana game has already
been sold out Russell Baluza, they still got two thousand
(08:46):
tickets to go and sell as of last thurds with
last Friday, still got to get that up. And meanwhile
their tickets over there. Cheapest ticket available right now is
standard ad mission one hundred and thirty dollars Indiana right now.
For that, that's a lot to ask for, but again
(09:07):
that's what the company is willing to go ahead and
ask for all together for tickets to an event like this.
But they have for ESPN itself, the chance of Illinois
Indiana being on ESPN. That could be a Fox game
because it's Big ten, we don't know yet, but that
could be a CBS game we don't know. But no
(09:31):
matter what, two three top notch, high caliber college football
games are gonna be prime time. If you will have
an idea of the audience that's going on and watching
college football on a regular basis, you might not think
that you know, there's a lot of wrestling fans in
that group, but absolutely there are. Okay, let me put
you like this. The Saunday night viewing of Notre Dame
(09:53):
in Miami this past weekend ten point million viewers in
primetime alabmita Beflorida State, which was a Saturday afternoon kickoff.
Ten point seven million, ten million for the Friday night
Saturday Night LSU Clemson game, which was on primetime on
Saturday on ABC DC in North Carolina. Six million viewers
(10:18):
for Monday night, just telling you, And then in the meantime,
the biggest audience that came out for the three thirty
games was Virginia take South Carolina at five million viewers
for ESPN. All I'm telling you is, with everything that
is being set up now, the W is just not
(10:42):
thinking about the real bottom line of the fact that
they're gonna get hammerded right now with all this football.
This is what Collision deals with on a regular basis
with AW, and AW still has to run Collision because
it's required to do WANT on Saturday nights. So they're
gonna have a live show, are they gonna Are they
even gonna be able to push three hundred thousand viewers
for that show? That's gonna be really difficult. I can
(11:02):
see where Collision drops below two hundred thousand. So who's
thinking about putting pay per views on at all these
different hours? Are you crazy? That's the part you gotta
think about is that we're gonna have all this going
on and yet Collision, Oh no, Collision is not gonna
run on Saturday night. That's right September to remember, is
(11:24):
gonna run on Wednesday night, So the a lot of
time for Collision is gonna run after Dynamite on Wednesday.
So they're not even gonna go ahead and the Collision
has prempted on Saturday. Smart This is aw actually thinking. Man,
they got to do this for themselves. They're gonna get
hamorrhaged if they try to go on Saturday night after
the pay per review. So no pay per view on
(11:44):
Saturday night, respectfully, because they got the pay review to
go and deal with on HBO Max. So they're not
gonna go and double up now with that, Russell Bulluza
itself is left alone to a barrage of competition, and
I don't think they really realize what the story is
behind that. But this is an unforced error on their part.
(12:05):
This is a mistake. I don't know what they were
thinking about doing this part, but they did. And now
you know, it's just the blind sided ignorance of this
company to go ahead and start shooting themselves in the
foot just for the effort of just trying to push
(12:26):
their weight around to go after these companies. Go after
a company aw for what Listen even SmackDown at its
worst on Friday night this week, it's still double the
audience dynamite is on a regular basis, So what are
we worrying about? But obviously at TKO Gripaulding's aw is
(12:49):
still point of mind. You're treating them this competition to
the point that you feel like you need to go
and take them out. And this is to the detriment
of your company. You're taking a hit right now as
a result of this. Talk to me about this. What
are they gonna possibly do on a wrestlal Lousa that's
going to overshadow on social media? What's going on in
(13:11):
college football? You are not gonna overshadow Hurricanes gaiters on
Saturday night for Auburn Oklahoma even social media in the
hyper local area of Indiana, Okay, the city of Indiana.
They're not gonna focus the rest of Losa because I
got Illinois Indiana going on the same time, probably at
(13:31):
prime time as well. Do you really think you're gonna
make that much of a difference this. No one is
considering this part, and I guarantee you plenty of my
fellow podcasts wrestling brethren have not even brought this up yet. Okay,
they don't, fine, because they're more worried about a g
(13:54):
lee coming in. We'll talk about her in a moment.
Of course, there's a lot to be said, but let's
go ahead and say, what's more all about this now?
In the same thing the emails are actually put out
on act saying that very much a smart play for
All Out in Toronto to move at three o'clock Easter time.
(14:16):
Don't know if W has time to get an afternoon
show set for NXT or to relate INSTOT a short
period of time, because we already know in past record
before that W has not been you know, been known
to be relentless in still trying to counter program, even
(14:38):
if so, yeah, less than two weeks ago, could they
try to book a show on at the exact same
time as All Out to still counter program because as
how petty this is, and the pettiness I've already talked
about here across the board now on a TikTok, if
you want to talk about this, obviously I had quite
(15:02):
a bit of aw following that decided to go ahead
and support me on the video, Glenn Flinnigan writes, they
would be foolished out to It's not about being better
or not. Don't give your audience the opportunity to have
to decide. Make it simple for them, and that's what
Tony did. Two other people said I've said facts by
what I said, and then little soy Thick says they're
(15:23):
so scared lmao. Another one also overlaps, also moves aw
from overlapping with the CML All Show that night as well.
So yeah, even their own partners trying to help out
with good On my YouTube feed, I got some commentary.
Joe Schmoe forty one writes out and says that it's
(15:45):
not hard to understand TKO wants to monopolize wrestling like
they did with MMA and are trying to do with boxing.
The way you discovered the situation is as the w
is doing this be petty, but it's so much bigger
than that. I don't think TK cares all about the
content of either company. They want to make their money
to get out of the debt they put themselves in
by with buying the only big wrestling company to keep
(16:07):
milking it. It's not about wrestling, but only about the money. Well,
to be clear, the debt that they accrued was from USC.
When TKO bought UFC several years ago. There was three
billion dollars in debt that they acquired as part of it,
kind of in a private equity kind of sector. Tom
(16:29):
Roboti hety four fifty seven says, quote, TKO and w
don't care about what you want. They just want money
and people keep buying it, so why should they try.
Another person writes about when it comes to Ajlee, I'm
not surprised Agle might be coming back because that's Trible
H's book you style. It's just rent to repeat Budline stuff.
(16:50):
Hurt wrestler returns or former aw wrestler shows up. Vince
brustol is calling it the next pop for Trible H,
which is probably not that far removed as well. And
then Nightmare Reser writes TIKO. When I said TIKO stands
for TV domination, kicking out talent and intimating opposition, he writes,
(17:12):
TKO talent kicked out, thank you. So there are some
different perspectives on social media that I want to go
and point out, which you know, it's part of my
enjoyment here, Like I mean, I get to go and
take some of the commentary and then just follow up
on it because it is very polarizing the sides of
the argument that we get out there. So with some
of the people I follow or not so much fallow,
(17:34):
it's just either I have my following or for you
sections of X and you know the algorithm on the
X will kind of recommend things to you. So here's
one of the things I got off of all this.
One person wrote and said that he writes conventional logic
dictates that they should at least move the show up
of yours, but probably when it comes to this, where
would the line be and where does this stop? You
(17:56):
can't show w that you can be easily pushed around
moved off your schedule. Nights September twentieth will be the
most counter aggressive programming that aw's are based. But they've
come up very well throughout this year against the passive
aggressive counter programming. Most of those weeks resulted in the
quality gaps and products being clearer than before, and aw's
binery is still being very healthy. The point of making
(18:16):
is that someone and some organization needs to be the
one to stand up to the W and not get
bitched like the many before them the past forty years.
Stick to your slot, put on the best of the
most stacked show possible, and trusting your product. Assess the
business afterwards and go from there. But don't get bullied
by Debrie. Your show has been better all year, no
matter what the state media suggests, and your audience is
(18:37):
a little una aware of that laid out for what
why give Nick con that blood in the water? Okay,
there's a little bit. I'm not gonna I don't agree
with all that there because I still think the move
for the sake of don't even worry about W in
this whole perspective. College football is still an issue going
on anyway, And now you've got a justification as to
(18:58):
why you have going to move at the three o'clock
and you've already done it before. And to be honest,
I think AW benefits from keeping it at that time
slot going forward. If they're gonna get the counterprogramming, then
just keep moving it as you do, okay, because W
will be happy to go ahead and move into the
(19:21):
same date on a show that's scheduled but they're not
gonna go ahead and be so petty because it would
be so blatantly obvious if they were to move their
show from eight o'clock and move it to three o'clock
just to go head to head, that would be overkill,
and that would be an obvious signal that the intimidation
(19:43):
is going the other way. It's a weakness on w
If they were ever to think of taking the show
they've already put on and put it for eight pm
and then move it up to three pm, they would
have an excuse for that. It wouldn't be possible. And
then someone else that this person responded to wrote, is
(20:06):
Tony Connis a smart business man. It Chuly cares about
his show not being overshadowed, should already be making plans
to either move the show to an earlier time or
push it to Sunday. He says that AW doesn't not
currently have the stories or star power to outdraw what
looks like a stack first wvpl E on ESPN, potential
matches like John Sen versus brock Lesner, Stephanocareasree Ripley, or
(20:29):
maybe even you know Sky and Oscar for the women's
World title. The mixed mixed tag match with Seth Rowlsey
and Punk and Becky Lechen aj Lee all involved. Jay
Cargill on a rematch agains Stevity Stratton for the women's title,
Cody Rose just drew Macutar for the WV title. Or
sixt eight matches stacked on the level of SummerSlam or Wrestlingia.
You know what, They're not doing that kind of show.
(20:52):
I don't expect that to happen. And how far have
they gotten right now with the setup four were paper
of you coming up? Well, so far we got two
matches already. We know they're going to have Eel Skyris'stevatific
Care is scheduled for the vacant Women's World title. That's
(21:14):
already been scheduled and that's booked, and Johnson excuse me,
is scheduled to wrestle. We don't know that's gonna be
brock Leicester. We haven't seen anything come back from that either,
so we don't know. We have no clue that yet,
but we also know that most likely that Sam Punk
and aj Lee the match with the mextag match what
we've been talking about now, that's probably gonna get scheduled
(21:37):
it's back Down, which, by the way, well, Russell PLUSA
has not been sold out yet. Okay, it's going up
against a sold out college football game Illinois, Indiana, just
an hour down the street. And as for the right,
they're not worried so much aboutres RESSELLOLUSA not being sold
(21:59):
out yet. There are more cause we're about getting Chicago
sold out, which obviously whatever tickets were left for Rosemance
Horizon or the All State Arena in Rosebant for that show,
of course Chicago sold out. And the funny thing is
there's some commentary out there about how that smack Down
is going to do ratings wise, and we'll talk about
(22:19):
that in a moment too, but there's just more to
it anyways. One of the person writes the official Yeah,
it's over for All Out because they think they've a
care EO Sky match for the woman's world title is
going to be the draw that will absolutely take people
all out of watching All Out Toronto. Brian Alvarez and
I know Sean ross. Happa has also reported to the
(22:41):
fact that A. J. Lee will be retuning after ten
years to be at rest of Bluesive to counter program
Aw's All Out pay per view. According to Brian Albers,
he says that we can confirm that it's a miss
mixed tax seeing punk a A J levers as Begllynch Seth
wrongs the return to AJ Brock and USO's teaming up.
They're looting to show to try to destroy All Out
and we'll see if they can do it. But remember
they're not even running with each other head to head.
(23:02):
That was talking about yesterday wrestling was overlive and then
more sources reporting that it's a done deal that A J.
Lee will return either this Friday on Spackdown or at
the upcoming wrestur Blues of Ple on September twentieth. And
just to give the point about college football, SmackDown actually
(23:27):
had a horrible rating because of the fact that it
was for the fact it was the littlet regular schedules
episode besides the Life four shows. Yes it was a
show on five hour tape delay because it was in Paris,
but going up against head to head against three college
football games, yeah, did not do well. It really suffered.
(23:47):
As a result, we're not even talking about money Night
Football yet starting up against Netflix because the Netflix era
has not dealt with Monday Night Football before and Monday
Night Fotball, knowing that USA Network is not going to
carry Monday Night Raw. The fact that people are gonna
be watching network and cable and they know that restling
(24:09):
is not gonna be on unless they go ahead and
make the effort to go to Netflix. They're probably not
gonna go to Netflix because of the fact that we
have football here for America the US audience. Money night
Football is going to destroy twenty plus billion viewers, no
doubt about it. And there's nothing that Mona Day Row
(24:29):
was gonna be able to go and do the counter
program against that football is going to destroy them. It's
just the fact of the matter is that for football,
I mean, AW is in a pretty good place for
Dynamite because of the fact that it's not going up
against any football competition because there's no football ones, he nights, nothing,
nothing anyway. Collision absolutely to get destroyed. But for SmackDown
(24:55):
and Raw, Man, you're going against college football because there
will be Friday night games on Fox and all the
other games going on as well that will be significant
and they have to go up against those games no
matter what. Now, another X feed that I also looked
at here that I got something from was about the
(25:16):
fact that really indicators with All Out and Full Gear approaching,
that both events are positioned to secure strong placement among
aw's top pay per views sales across streaming distributors are
already already pointing to robust demand. Newer events like World
End in Dyna Dynastics give Me have a limited history,
their average paper revisement compared fably to cornerstroom shows like
(25:39):
double or Nothing In All Out, Yeah, AW consistently does
really well with their paper use. There's obviously a loyal
audience that will buy for those shows. And before we
get to AJLE and the whole deal with that, and
some of the commentary has been out there about that,
I must make this point too, that those a little
bit back and forth talking about the experience of being
(26:04):
a VIP package holder for various pay per view events,
that for W and for AW, it's two different stories.
So one person online Undisputed Compo writes that the fans
shared his experience at w Clash as a goal package holder,
which was a twenty seven hundred dollars package, he entered
(26:25):
the arena forty five minutes late, even with a priority pass.
The gift he was receiving was the committed commemoratesve Pen.
There was a two hour Superstar hospitality suite which included
a quick picture with Wyat six, RUSSEV and BFAB Now
getting more into this year he paid. This person paid
(26:47):
twenty seven hundred dollars for two tickets thirteen to fifty
each two days before the event, got the entry ticket,
which had a face value of three hundred and twenty
three dollars a mare. Prices went down a lot, so
again a pre show hospitality with superstar appearances, all inclusive
(27:09):
food and drinks, and all inclusive and drinks during hospitality
a sooner to be picked up a check in and
dedicated priority pass entrance. So the so called priority check
in was poorly managed. We ended up entering the arena
forty five minutes late. It was finger food and drinks
that were undeed unlimited and honestly pretty good quality. Priority
(27:30):
passed a lanyard and badge of the event logo. Soveonir
was a clash in Paris Pen and pre show hospitality
part left me a bit disappointed. Last two hours, but
only about one of those hours did superstars come into
the lounge, they stood in front of a photo wall.
Everybody lined up just to take a quick picture. You
get about five seconds before and after the photo with
(27:50):
the stars, and it was y six Russev and Bfat
and the seats they got were not even the best ones.
It was also another thing that was considerably rough for
that as well. Now another person writes up Travy or
(28:10):
t Z Gray seventy seven talked about his experience at
all Elite Texas, decided to go and put his own take.
He got it at nine to forty five am, got lanyards,
crowd free shopping fifteen to twenty minutes for a maximum wait,
saw the stage for anybody else and seeing people practicing entrances.
Got our free aw flag, free photo ops with two
(28:30):
title belts, multiple media greeds and a Q and A.
And we see pictures that go along with it. The
lounge Lexus Club at the Globe I feel in Armington, Texas. Yeah,
looks pretty bad ass. I like it. See the wall
where he was able to take pictures. He got pictures
with gates of agony, and looks like there was also
(28:55):
some sessions out there where they could also check out
the all Lee experts, so they got to be a
part of that too. Okay, good and by the price
for that eight hundred dollars just tells you everything you
gotta know. But where we are right now in the
current set up of wrestling from a complete cash grab.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
Now.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
I can't remember the last time even brought up a
Glee on this program. I'm sure I did, because it was,
you know, in the very early stages of this program,
but like in twenty fourteen when she was around right,
So we haven't seen her since. But I mean, part
of the thing is I gotta say, is that with
(29:39):
ag Lee. Yeah, there's this scasion that obviously that's seeing
Punk's wife. You know, she's been gone, she's been a mother,
she's written, you know, a bestling book. She's been doing fine.
So we're gonna see a g Lee coming back. And
this is not the young woman that was out there
(29:59):
before that we I saw at twenty seven years old,
prime of her career. We're gonna see her looking much
different thirty eight years old. We don't even know if
she's been training for this. We have no clue, So
we don't know what's going to be going on with
all this here. Viz Russo making comments. He says that
(30:23):
w B fans should not be so excited for Aglee's
return because Triple H and his team will turn ag
into just another name and the women's division like La Cuebella,
he said on Legion and Raw on Monday Night, quote,
Aglee is gonna fall into the Nicky Billa spot, which
Nicky Bill has already fallen to another name on the roster. Yeah,
cause Vera will be that. And then also somebody referring
(30:47):
back to some of the commentary back in twenty fifteen
in February, when AJ Lee and seven McMahon actually had
words back and forth with each other. Quote to Sevenye McMahon,
aj says, and yet they receive a fraction of the
wages and screen time of the major of the majority
of the male roster hashtag to use your voice. Stephanie
(31:07):
also writes to seventy your female wrestlers have record selling
merchandise and have started in the highest rated segment of
the shows several times. Very active, very advocacy for her overall.
Now we're going to take some commentaries out there from
someone who I will not name. I will not play
(31:29):
the clips from said podcast but I will take transcripts
and I will read back what I have here from
what's being said. So on X He calls the fact
that aw is now going to be putting their show
on HBO Max for the first time at a discount
rate at thirty nine ninety nine for subscribers. He goes
(31:53):
on to say that HBO Max basically is done per
month with ads standard sixteen ninety nine. Attend to our discount.
So difference in the price of these shows whether you
watch them how you've already been or if you watch
them on HBO Max. If AWW wanted to be fan
friendly and really being an alternative, the price would have
been twenty nine ninety nine. This is an unfortunate miss
again for AW. No, it's not ESPN had the same
(32:16):
kind of price for EOFC fights, correct, you know, wrestling,
even for AW or even for BEE if they wanted to,
they could have kept the pricing up as they were,
and they probably would still have a way to get
some certain audience that would have made money on the
gate on that. But obviously they don't have to do
that anymore because of the broadcast deals. But if TKO
(32:37):
did not have those broadcasts. I can assure you they
would go ahead and charge high ticket for pay reviews,
because if that becomes the case five years down the line,
ten years down the line, especially five years down the line,
if the Netflix steal falters, they'll go find a pay
per view partner and they will charge high ticket for
pay reviews. Just watch. That could very well happen, very
(33:00):
well happened. The thing is thirty nine and nine is
what they already charge right now across the board. The
fact of the matter is that HBO now you can
actually watch all their pay per views and their regular
programming all in one place. The pay per views. Yeah,
they're gonna charge extra for the pay per views. What
eight nine shows a year, forty dollars a month or
(33:22):
every time they have a show. Yeah, they're gonna charge
that much. It's not out of the scope of what
they can charge and what they try to get. They
also got to make money themselves. They don't have those
super big broadcast deals like w does, right, so their
course they're gonna do good and make money on their
pay per views. They have to to build their business
to be able to pay for the contracts. Only makes
(33:45):
sense for that and so another person asks, who takes
a clip from a particular podcast says WV is cooking
with a speculat Aglets said territory is going to be
a massacre. Meanwhile, I want to make this point clear too,
A g lee is now the focus of the women's division. Automatically,
(34:07):
I don't think anybody's really talking so much about seventy
of the care and EO Sky coming up at Russell Blues.
The woman that's gonna be talking about at Russell Blues
as a g lee, who have you not seen on
television in ten years plus? Who might not be doing
that much wrestling. She's just gonna be involved in the
cmpunk Ceth Throngs feud with Becky Lynch. That's it, just
the match things up. Meanwhile, Bobby Altov has her podcast
(34:32):
out there. She's talking to Drake, whom she had a
bit of animosity with before, going back a few years
and there's a there's a clip that went viral about
Drake and his fascination over rear Ripley.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
I am.
Speaker 1 (34:50):
Is it dragging? No, I'm just what are you doing?
Speaker 3 (34:53):
I don't have data. I'm trying to you don't. It's
on sylestromy so I couldn't trying to pull up Tiger's Instagram.
My fy P page is just all Rear Ripley. She's
a wrestler, she's she's like my mus but is she Yeah,
she's she's on the opposite of how everything that's she
(35:17):
likes And I can't pull up.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
I can't drake name dropping Ripley. Come on, and you're
in the rear. Ripley, by the way, does not have
a match schedule for Wrestbulls. It wouldn't be that hard
to put her in, Like, why isn't she scheduled in
the three way into that match for the women's world title.
I'm just saying, Ripley, is you got her out there
(35:39):
with l A. Knight doing things out there with the
Paperrick Clash in Paris, and there's a lot of things
about it. I rememberin was getting swarmed and getting you know,
basically molested in the streets of Paris by the fans
that wanted to go see her. She is a worldwide
favorite and now w is also trying to do things
(36:00):
to kind of normalize re reup place. Look as if
she's not able to go and be my brutality kind
of thing. No more of the change and all that stuff.
Something's going on with they're trying to change that character.
What are you trying to do with her? Why does
she need to be changed? Just saying everything they've done
with that character for re rep play after her and
(36:23):
Dominic split up, Like I hated the whole thing between
her and Live Morgan anyways, that could have done it
much better. But re reply should not be an afterthought
right now. And they'll tell me she's part of the
whole mixing. No, she's not really. She was an eye
class in Paris for a pay per review. She was
on SmackDown, but come on pay per view. She's not
(36:45):
been on and why not? So not on the pay
per view for Clash in Paris. Last time we saw
her on pay per view was the triple threat match
for the Woman's World title on SummerSlam Night too. But
she's not been a focus at all, been in the
(37:07):
backdrop as of late. I don't know why. So now
into the situation about HBO Max and the all out
show and seeing punk and ag leaving all tight, here's
the one this podcast s. He said a few things
about this. First of all, the commentary about Becky Lynch,
(37:31):
and let's just make the point clear about this where
he says this the man or big time backs or
whatever you want to go ahead and call her eversis
nia Jack's puncher in the face. It's been incredibly forced
and for the first time in her career since the
beginning sieges of VNXT, Becky Lynch actually feels genuine and
she's in a role that suits her now, being part
(37:52):
of the vision. That's what he's saying. So now you
get Becky Lynch involve with Seth Wrong's, you get Seeing
Punk out of them, You're going to get some great
fing television out of it. Another criticism, I see you
about it. Oh, it didn't work the first time, why
would go back and do it now for a second time?
And he explains it's, you know, it's Vince's problem whatever, Okay,
(38:13):
that Vince forged upon us. But now everybody knows that's
Seth Rollins and Stempunk is the biggest feud right now
in w B. Really the biggest feud.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
Eh.
Speaker 2 (38:27):
I guess, I don't know. Maybe now Seeing Punk is
going to make it personal right back, how Rawls has
made it personal. So he says that he doesn't really
understand why people are upset the beaky Lynch is on
the vision and how she's joining seth rolls on screen,
So why not have them play off each other on
(38:49):
screen on a raw to take what they're doing right
now and make it better. He says that the segment
was seeing Punch and seeing Punk and Becky Lynch, where
Beggy Lynch was flapping and seeing Punk in the face
afterwards was great, down right fantastic, he says, and that
Beggy Lynch kind of over exerted herself she always does.
(39:12):
Did it get a little cringe of points, sure, but
the basis of it, the center of it all was great.
Another major tas the fact that Cem Punk asked at
a Pierce where Smack done gonna be? It's gonna be
in Chicago, he says, tremendous. And here's what it comes
here about Reriby by the way, come September twenty for
(39:32):
Russell plos and ends up being Bailey or everyone thinks
it's very Ribley. It can be Riha, but if it's Ria,
why would you put ri in that spot? Ultimately, to
let everybody down that re Ribbly was it would be
a drop down if it's not a j Lee. Okay,
he says, that is an ace iner hole. They got
am in their sleeve, and as April Mendez, that's what
(39:52):
it is. Is nobody else. It should not be anybody else.
It cannot be anybody else, and I don't want it
to be anybody else. It's April Mendez. That's the end
it period. It just needs to be when she shows up,
how she shows up, where she shows up.
Speaker 1 (40:04):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
It's back down just by the one line from stan Punk,
but he says the segment was effing fantastic and he's
going to unveil his secret weapon and there's nobody a
place to do that than the line city. Okay, I
don't get any of that part, But that's like the
(40:26):
delusion delusional fandom right there, because that's the voice to
that juveial delusional fandom, making the point of saying that
this is like his way of saying, where Bicky Lynch
is not in the best point of her career, be
part of the vision, and then being this match here
with ag Lee being like the prodigal daughter coming back
to the company after all this time. I mean, was
(40:50):
there a real big clamoring for her to come back
after all these years. I never really didn't think about
that too much. I just honestly thought, well, okay, she's done.
You know, she's a mom, she's an author, she's doing
other things with her life. And even for seeing Punk,
we never know if it was going to come back either.
But I don't know this is all back again, and
(41:12):
we don't know how much of this is the animosity
will see him Punk now, given two years later that
he's been out of AW And there's a lot about
talking about that too. And this is the same podcaster
saying the same thing as well when it comes to
seem Punk, saying that he refers to see him Punk
as a very wise man. Once sitting the AW is
a business not predicated about making money. He calls seeing
(41:35):
Punk aw's biggest star still to this day, their biggest
draw and their biggest ratings draw since last April, referring
to the security footage, this man's not working for their competition,
He's working for a business and speaking a boatload of
money including himself and his wife, is coming out of
a retirement for the first time in ten plus years
(41:56):
on one of the biggest shows that W will probably
do All decade Palooza, the biggest all decade.
Speaker 1 (42:06):
You know.
Speaker 2 (42:08):
That all sounds like somebody is being bought and paid
for right there by saying that that's not genuine and
I don't believe it. That's bought and paid for. That's
sponsored commentary. If it's not sponsored commentary, it should be
because said persons should beginning a paycheck for seeing all
that kind of stuff. It just sounds outlandish. It's like
(42:30):
something that to Skip baylors Orteuvinie Smith would say something about,
like you know, in sports in general, a lot of
bluster with no real context behind it. But anyways, hey,
LOOKW fans are gonna feel like that they're gonna fall
along with this kind of commentary and think and think
it's gonna be great. He goes on to say that
(42:50):
AW could have had all this if they were actually
serious about running out business and not some indie fed
in a sandbox. Again, there are these fans, others, these podcasters,
these other people in the juvenile delusional fandom that think
that AW needs to be a carbon copy of W
or something similar to be the alternative that will satisfy
(43:13):
what W doesn't do. I don't they say at this point,
people are thinking of the Triple A is doing great. Oh,
it couldn't be doing better. They're defending the guy, defending
the guy to a hope. And you know what, I
can keep pointing out mistakes or they're being done right
here at the behest. W doesn't have to get into
this fight. They want to get into this fight ever
(43:34):
since day one and has not worked. And as for AW,
their mistakes are not in the behest of W. Okay,
W doesn't have anything to do with what AW has
done to hurt themselves. The mistakes of AW have been
their own and only their own. It has nothing to
(43:54):
do with what WW has done to them. Okay. Tony
Kahn is not Eric Bischoff. Okay, you people won't want
to go ahead and make him Eric Bischoff that has
the same kind of mindset, but he's not. And Eric
Bischoff totally doesn't want to be compared to Tony Kahan.
And Whenny wait shape or form, and I agree with that.
(44:16):
So he says his point is that everything about AWN HBO.
Max Fivefelsex spoke to someone on AW and said that
the after paperview success of for Bridden Door helped contribute.
The decision has been discussed for weeks. By the way,
All on Texas was also in the afternoon, so it
doesn't matter the fact that Forbidden Door, like all this
stuff is just speculation. Forbidden Door was in London. If
(44:40):
they were going to have it available, it would only
make sense for them to go and run the show
in London and Prime tom at eight o'clock. And for us,
just like if we watched the show US Saudi Arabia
or show in Paris to catch it at three o'clock,
it was just normal. But remember the counterprogramming of On
Texas contributes to this decision, not what Forbidden Door did.
(45:02):
That's not true. And here's the bullying in full effect. Quote,
instead of resting on your laurels and resting on your
product and putting out a product that you're incredibly proud
of and not giving a shit, you made the move anyway,
And honestly, I'm happy as a content creator because now
I get to watch at least ninety percent of All
Out and then watch Russell Bulozzo. In all serious is
there's something that Tony Kahn could have done in that
(45:23):
move that would have made him look good. There would
be a complete no matter what, why are you going
head to head with no? No, no, the other way around,
w wants to go head to head with AW. That's
what they're trying to do. Move the show three PM
or two people in the early in afternoon. And if
he does, oh you're a coward. That's projection because he's
saying that, oh you're this, Oh you're scared, you don't
(45:45):
trust your product, blah blah blah. There's legitily nothing that
was gonna be able to do. So I'm looking at
it selfishly. That they're moving the show to three PM.
Gives me an opportunity now to watch Okay, that's his
way of putting it. He says. Then, if you are
a sicko, you're not watching Reclusive. You don't give a
shit about Brocolasi and John Cena, you don't care about
(46:06):
age coming back to Teamless and Punk against Brecculations and Wrongs,
which is the room right now. If you are a sicico,
you're already planning to the watch AW. You're not watching
Rescilusives no matter where they go. This is what you get.
If you are a sicko, you will Romaina Sico. You're
not going to be watching a FED on Saturday afternoon.
That's what most people are not going to really tell
(46:28):
you and be upfront with. They say there that HBO
Max will stream live AW pap per reviews without ads,
and all marketing and promotions of AW events primarily centered
on HBO Max. Pre orders will launch this Friday, and
HBO Max subscribers will supported devices will purchase events for
thirty nine ninety nine. For all those people who thought
you were already subscribed at Max you were gonna watch
(46:49):
HBO and start streaming a to paper reviews on the
streaming services that they would be free, You're shot out
of luck, bro, It's not going to happen. It was
announced that paper View is going to be a premium anyway,
that was already made clear in the announcement. I said
that because the announcement said that a lot of work
around to kind of get to this point. Then he
(47:11):
goes on to the press release for the new HBO
Max deal now with the pay per views and saying
the fact that saying that chat GBT wrote the press
release anyways, he goes on to say that you're probably
asking yourself it should be free. Why isn't it free?
And he says the reason is not free is because
AW makes zero dollars domestically. You want the upfront, up front,
(47:32):
honest truth. AW does not make any money domestically. The
only money they make is s eeemly. When they go international,
they make money and sal Arena is left and right internationally.
But those people are sharp for progressing content that comes
to the US anyway. You can put shit on a
fucking plate and put in the middle of the ring
and they consider it a five star banger. Wow, that
is some real gas lighting right in there, gas lighting
(47:53):
projection and someone that I said, personal animus, but this
is being accepted as gospel by the jeuitial delusional fandom
out there. He's not the only one, he's just probably
the loudest. Doesn't mean it's right, doesn't mean it's true,
doesn't mean it's accurate either. And I got to play
(48:16):
this real quickly as well from Dave Meltzer because they
were talking about clash in pairs and the fact that
they had the Yas six and the street profits out there,
street profits, you remember NXT. There were darlings over there
and a great presence coming out of NXT moving up
to the main roster. But look where they've been right now,
And Dave Meltzer kind of puts it all in perspective.
Speaker 4 (48:38):
The Street Profits, everything about them has been nobody cares.
They put him with Lashly, that didn't work. They turned
him Heal, that didn't work, They turned him face, then
they turned him heal. Well, now they're gonna split.
Speaker 1 (48:53):
Up, which they actually teased years ago and didn't do.
Speaker 4 (48:58):
Yeah, that was when Montes forb super Hot and everybody
thought he was gonna be this great single superstar and
and you know, I mean like, look, they're both really
talented guys. I mean, I suppose you could do that
with either of them. I think Dawkins it's going to
be really tough for him on his own, even though
he's really good. He's big, he's agile, you know, and
all that Ford is uh, you know, does excellent things
(49:19):
in the ring. They could do something with him. I mean,
I have know people who thought he was, you know,
future world champion four years ago, and nobody's been saying
that lately.
Speaker 2 (49:31):
But what Tag Team and Dody has really gone that
far and really done anything besides the Ussels. It's already
been around for ten plus years. Like that's the other
part and what are they doing right now? They're trying
to put them back together. That's what the plan is
going to be. So now, comparing what we have going
on for Russell Bluza, we always talk about what all
(49:51):
else supposed to be coming up in a couple of
weeks as well. What is it that a lot is
being set up for that people feel like, you know,
it could be really good coming up. Well, here's what
we got so far. Scotia Banker Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Three matches are scheduled so far. Is Cope and Cage
(50:12):
versus FTR an a tag team match. The Heart Syndicate
will take on Ricochet and Gates of Agony in a
trios match. And now we just learned that Mercedes Money
will take on Rijo for the aw TBS Championship. So
nothing was really big set up so far for either
of these shows. We don't know what they're gonna do,
(50:34):
and we're all over they're gonna be putting a lot
of real big push across all the board anyway, we
don't know yet, but the idea of deciding to go
ahead and go on this night, which is already tough
anyway in September right now, to go ahead and do
this at least in America for review, you know, for Toronto.
(50:55):
You know, I don't think that that Mark is gonna
be necessarily caring about NFL football. Mean that probably some
people they're Buffalo bill fans, whatever, but that's on Sundays.
That's not Saturday. That's not Saturday. So who knows what
they're going to be doing. But what it's all said
and done, I mean, w' is gonna be struggling on
(51:17):
their own and no one's really caring about talking about
that part. Keep this in mind as I close this
out tonight. I'm talking about this because as always, of
course I have my criticisms about AW, and of course
I have criticisms plenty about W in the current direction,
and that's fine, okay. And I could justify the fact
(51:41):
of how they're making money and how they're doing things, okay.
But what I have the biggest problem about is that
now this is bullying this competition. They're trying to go
ahead and trying to foster out of all this in
terms of handling your competition like their lightweights and trying
to push them around, but they really are not thinking
(52:02):
about the bottom line about what they're hurting and doing.
They're hurting themselves. You're putting out another show to get
another big gate out of it, and you're hoping that
you know that you're gonna pull something off of this, like, Okay,
the cash Cow is gonna continue with a good gate
no matter what. But are you gonna get a whole
(52:24):
lot of press about this show as well? I mean,
think about it. You're going to against college football just
not a good look in the middle of football season.
It's gonna be a tough sell to do that on
a Saturday night. Like, there are certain things that are
already changing around as we speak. Look, even though the
(52:46):
Peacock deal has changed, things have worked around and in
the positive sense, yes, they move to ESPN, but in
the Peacock deal that is curting in place. Okay, Peacock
might be losing the pay per views and they could
have said, well, the Saturday Spain event specials, they thought
(53:08):
that would be important to put them on NBC. They're not,
partly because of the fact that they're gonna worry more
about well, they're not gonna be worried about it. It's
just the thing is w is just not thinking of
the ramifications about all this. So they'll make their money
on tickets. But at what point is this counter programming
(53:34):
going to go awry? Is going to it's going to
bite them, and they don't realize that it would just
be better off if they would just leave aw alone. Like, seriously,
just leave them alone. They're not competitions to you. They're
not a factor to you. And because you let the
(53:55):
fan base, this juvenile, delusional fan base, get your company
riled up and you have to go ahead and answer
to them. You have to go and get some big
pops or all these different things going on with either
a J Lee or somebody else coming in just to
get something to go Answest, to get some buzz doesn't
make a difference the product. After five years, you've cast
(54:17):
me more than just poppets, and the pigt is you
can't be just program me, just the program bulling is
enough come back for another Wrestlers Real podcast, because if
wrestling needs us,
