AEW WrestleDream featured a brutal main event, Darby Allin outlasted Jon Moxley in a violent "I Quit" match. The grueling war finally concluded when Allin forced the seemingly unquittable Moxley to surrender.
The AEW World Championship was on the line as "Hangman" Adam Page defended his title against the formidable Samoa Joe. In a hard-hitting clash of titans, "Hangman" managed to overcome the challenger and retain his world title.
The night's biggest shock came after the $500k Tag Team Match, which saw Jurassic Express (Jack Perry and Luchasaurus) defeat The Young Bucks to win the massive prize. As Perry and Luchasaurus celebrated, they were suddenly attacked by members of the Don Callis Family. Just as the beatdown commenced, Kenny Omega made his shocking return to a thunderous ovation, clearing the ring and siding with Jurassic Express to fend off the attackers, while The Young Bucks simply walked away.
The women's division saw two major championship bouts. In a "Winner Takes All" match, TBS Champion Mercedes Moné put her title on the line against Interim ROH Women's World TV Champion Mina Shirakawa. Moné emerged victorious, capturing Shirakawa's championship and adding more gold to her collection.
In the AEW Women's World Championship match, Kris Statlander successfully defended her title against the former champion, "Timeless" Toni Storm, in a dramatic encounter.

of is your podcast? King of Podcasts, here with you.
Following a w Russell Dream in Saint louis not far
from the Chase and the gateway to the West. So
tonight's paper when you're thinking about we're coming back to

(01:05):
Wrestle Dream now again. We just finished up a pay
review prior to and I'm saying all out was not
that long ago, going come back into this now is
a bit much. All that was very good, all in
was very good. This is one of those where I
feel like we didn't necessarily need Wrestle Dream to be

(01:26):
here to lead us into full gear. I actually prefer
if aw would go ahead and do something with this
Wrestle Dream show, if it could not, if it did
not have to be here because of the fact that
I want that time apart between now and full gear
because as we have it now full gear again, it's

(01:48):
about four weeks from now, but it's still it's a lot,
and I don't want it to beat that far ahead
because you can kind of tell this was a b
pay review. It was the memorial show for Noki. We know,
and is this something that they should go and continue
to do regularly in America to continue to go do
this forward? I guess so, but I feel like if

(02:14):
there wasn't more other way to go and do this
where I don't know if this felt more, I don't
know what you do with it. The thing is it's
an important thing that they're doing. I understand there's a
stinction behind it, but for me, it's like, I'm just
trying to figure out something here that's can make me
feel good about this event. Because of the rush they

(02:35):
had to go and do between All Out, All In
and Wrestle Dream to get matches set together, it's a
lot and that is part of what AW suffers from
when they have these pay per views go so close together,
because normally they're not always so close together. But it
is a little bit towards the end of the year,

(02:56):
it's a bit much. And then remember when we get
to full gear, then we have World's End, and World's
End is not that much farther away. It's another four
weeks away the four week format for them, it is
better when they had it at four or six pay reviews.
I know they're at like ten now, but it's a

(03:18):
bit much. I wish it wasn't so many all year
because they just do so much. Because remember, let's just
go into like this, all right, we're looking at pay
per reviews across the board. Wrussell Dynasty was Gidry fifth,
but that was a show that went along with that

(03:40):
was the show that they did, of course with New Japan,
but their first show coming off of everything. There's a
long lull at March ninth for Evolution Revolution, excuse me,
then Dynasty a month later, double or Nothing a month
later or sue, yeah, about six weeks later, maybe more
than that. All right, let's say eight weeks later. Then

(04:01):
we get to all End, which to give us almost
what about a two and a half month time to
get shut Except for that, then you have that longer
lull about six weeks for Forbidden Door, and then all
out comes Wrestle Dream, and they're all in that four
week format more or less. It's a bit much. It's overwhelming,

(04:25):
and I think that's the part where I'd like to
go and see that shorten up. But I don't know
what they're gonna do with that. I know it's important,
but it's like with Wressel Dream, that's a show now
that is so much consumed with their own deal of stars,
and it's not one of those where it's like Forbidden Door,
which at least when you have Forbidden Door, it is

(04:47):
an event where you're including New Japan and it's a
much different feel to it. So there's that in between
of all that. Forbidden Door Wrestle Dream are two of
the shows that I feel like when they're putting in
the effort to it, it would be nice to go
and see it where they have other promotions being part
of this. So for wrestled you m'd like to see

(05:08):
if it was actually put with somebody else, because here,
you know they put up matches together and get them
ready and to get the storylines up. There's just so
much that godn't cover and there are four hours of
programming to get to that point and they set up
the show. Don't get me wrong, the show was done.
It was completed, and to me, just some of the
matches that we had, it was like a nice, very

(05:31):
good divisional edition of for about two hours for a
show that once again went till what twelve thirty at night?
We got to twelve thirty am from eight o'clock and
that's when you're also watching the Tailgate Brawl zero hour event.
There's a lot of matches. To me, there's a couple

(05:53):
of things you can do if you're not gonna if
you're gonna hit your viewer committed to this paper, you're like, yes, here,
this is where you treat this like a pay per
view doesn't need to be so packed because aw does
have that reputation for that. Scale it down like this
and maybe another show you don't put necessarily what eight

(06:15):
matches of the card, make it six or seven or
just something where you know you just shorten it down
because it is a bit much. I don't want five
matches in two hours. That's that's not enough. But there's
a couple of matches that could have been tabled over
to another show. When I look at the start of
the night, Jamie Heater and THEKLA I get to get

(06:38):
the pay per review time. They got fifteen minutes in here.
Awesome for them. But I mean, I don't know if
there was so much there to tell me, Okay, Jimmy
Heter's back great this year, back here. But to go
into this feature feud, I gotta understand that here. But
you know, I don't know if there was that much
that was really done that made me pay attention to
I mean, it was for most it wasn't a really
collision and really feature mode so that storyline. So it's

(07:01):
a bit much for the collision storylines to really get
me invested into these matches. Because I'm gonsue with college
football even tonight to try to watch Wrestle Wressell Dream.
I was watching you know, Mama Mater playing against South
Florida Florida at Landing and they got roasted tonight. But
that's another point. But I actually had that on wall
was watching Wressel Dream and it was a bit much,
so I don't know. It's one of those things where

(07:24):
I could have done a little bit less, well the
less it's more aspect, could have been a little bit here.
But again, this is what Tony Khin's gonna do now.
I think the format he's gonna get fixed it with
is you know, it doesn't matter to me about what
he's gonna do. He's gonna do what he's gonna do
and make the change. Fine. So Jurassic Express the Young
Bucks storyline, of course, they made the point where Jack

(07:46):
Perry's back now took a front Young Bucks, and then
there's a whole setup of you know where we see
Don Kallis filmily not coming in Young Bucks being involved
and the whole split up. But the thing was is
that Young Bucks were you know, hurting him money because
they needed that five hundred dollars a dour cash prize.
They made a reason for it, which is pretty cool,

(08:07):
you know, the only some of the cash prize for
a match or whatever. But then you had where the
Young Bucks finally explained that they're strapped without the petty
cash of being EVPs anymore. So like they have that
going on that storyline continues. That's fine, Hurtson to get
a demand World Trios title. Oh number one could tender?

(08:30):
Excuse me? So hurts him to get wins. They'll move on,
they'll take on and either thoroughers that. Then you got
Kyle Fletcher. I think after this, after that hurts syndicet
demand match. I must say this too when it comes
to Ricochet and his use right now? Why do I

(08:50):
feel like The Gates of Agony are the best books
Simon's right now compared to well, I mean, Jacob Too
is hurt, and we don't know how hurt he is.
There's nothing being about it, but one report from Body
Slam dot Nett says he might be out the rest
of the year. We don't know yet. But then again,
they took him out an injury storyline and he's been
out for a while, and they're saying something about being

(09:12):
a dental thing. I don't know what they're talking about,
but it's a shame to see Jacob ol Too not
on television without explanation. Why so they just decided to
go and do what they did with the MFTs and
whatever because he's been out for a while. Now he's
back for like a little bit, and then he's out again.
It doesn't make any sense, but that's you know, let's
not go to w E centric on this show tonight. Okay,

(09:34):
I'm gonna keep it short. I gotta get to bed soon,
now what I will say, Kyle Fletcher, Mark Presco, you
put those guys out for ortunity and he title twenty
five minutes. Great match and it's amazing. And they were
talking about that in commentary about Mark Briscoe and his
singles run and how well he has really stood out
for himself. He was always pretty good as singles wrestler,

(09:56):
but to be in the spotlight like he's been after
the go on to world title rain and then being
here and just being the stalwart here, that's just so
good at all. This ran Kyle Fletcher again looks like
a megastar and he is easily one of the new
pillars right now. That is, it's just a matter of
time after the C and T title reign that he

(10:18):
will be into the main event picture because now that
they have the deal where it's either Adam Page or
Schwarre Strickland or m JF. You know, in that particular
realm they have right now. Just outside of that is
Kyle Fletcher. He is in that realm. It's just a
matter of time before they put him a strictly the
main event. He's a bit of a main event storyline

(10:40):
because of the Don Kallis family. But somewhere, somehow he's
gonna be in that spot. And let me tell you,
with the help of Don Challas, I think he's helped
a lot of people in that on that group the
Alpha knuskiets the ketch to another great example for me,
it's about Kyle Fletcher. Here another there's much more than

(11:00):
Kyle Fletcher has to do where he has several feuds
of people that he's already kind of burned in the
process that he has to go and take on. At
some point, we'll see, you know, various things that will
happen with Kyle Fletcher, will see him come back into
picture for him before we get down the line and
get him into an aw world title field, because that's coming.
It's just a matter of time. But there's a lot

(11:21):
you could keep doing with Kyle Fletcher where you keep
him as a heel under the Don Kyle's banner, and
then a split comes. I'll say that, well, Ospur will
probably have something to do with it, and then Kyle
Fletcher will split off. But this right now is the
build where he is just international star. Put him in
New Japan, put him here, wherever. He is just rocking

(11:42):
right now. He is the biggest upside of anybody right
now in aw period at this point, Chris Statlander with
a strong win over Thomas Tony Storm, because with Tony Storm,
you know this important to had that match here. If
for Chris Statlander just say, okay, it was just the
fact that she won the match over Tony Storm. Now
she gets it't here and now solidifies and Chris stat

(12:04):
Lander has already been TBS chant, so to bring her
back over to here and the evolution of her character
up to this point and the appointance of her over
all these years now and seeing where she is now
is great for her. She's been fantastic. It's a great
spot for her to be and it's, you know, something
to be said about long term booking and long term

(12:26):
development of stars they have in there and how they're
being brought up to the forefront after so many years
out there. Now people are gonna obviously crap on Mercedes
Bonet and now she has his eleven titles, the Interim Ringamander,
Women's World TV title, an Open Challenge, Miniature Kawa, and

(12:47):
Money now has eleven belts. Okay, I mean yeah, the
belt collector Austinerio's did that before, but nobody said anything
about him with that. But with Mercedes Bene right now, yeah,
they're nearly Let's put as many belts as we can
on her and then they will start going away. But
she's still at a good spot right now now Ultim Money,

(13:10):
that's amazing. But I think for her it's a matter
of that she is that star right now that is
being booked all over the place and representing aw She's
at the best flight right now. It's just that maybe
it's not so much where the fans are gonna be
so much, you know, overjoyed that she has all these titles.

(13:32):
It's because of the fact that she is like that
NWA champion back in the day. You know, she is
being she's being called upon to work in so many
different companies now for the fact that all these companies
were only going to put those belts on her seeing well,
defy wherever else she's been at awesome and she's been

(13:52):
doing a great job and now she's gonna after Chris
Statlander's belt. Let's go for twelve. I get it. But
at the moment, she is in the old school realm
of being one of those people that are champions. It's
just that back in the day, they never made a
whole big deal about all these different titles that all
these people had. It goes always about okayn Wa World Champion,
and then it's like, Okay, Rick Flair might be here,

(14:13):
might have other titles, whatever, Harley Race, whatever. But it's
like this is where other promotions they want the draw
that Mercedes been need brings because maybe it's not so
much the aw you would think because there's other people
in that roster. But for other companies, if they can
get Mercedes Benda go and work for them, they'll do it.

(14:34):
And somewhere down the line that's gonna happen. So we'll
see they're actually gonna go to full gear and go
Toddle versus title. I don't know if they're gonna do
that yet. I don't think you need to go and
do that for either side. There's still other opponents for them.
I mean, there's always a plethora of opponents that can
be built up on either side of these women's titles.
For aw, that's pretty obvious. They have a lot of

(14:54):
talent in there. And the way this is done, people
can get seasoned up and really up quickly. I mean, Neil,
look at some old Joe elevates back up to the
world title feud. We'll talk about that in a moment,
but anyway, Brodido don Cole's family and Brodido wins and
Ocatta gets pinned, and now we know that Brody kings.
I mean that Bendida and o'cat are gonna fix each other,

(15:17):
and the United Unified Championship is gonna be on the
line coming up. That's gonna be all set up. So
Okada playing then ice Band, I didn't realize what was
gonna happen here, but yeah, Okonna and takesha here as
a tag team is formidable. I actually thought that we're
gonna win the world tag team titles, but no, no,
No had a great match. Nevertheless, still a lot of

(15:39):
good and then also just keep that together and you
know the at somewhere some point, Oconna Takeshta will once
again have some kind of odds with each other. I
think we'll have something there somewhere down the line at
a Page does get to win on Samoa Joe, but
Samoto turns heel with the ops and takes him out,
which you know, I'm glad to not see the respect

(16:01):
respector respecting. And then I guess Samoa Joe and Adam
Page will get toe the feud if that's what they're
gonna do. Fine. Smoe Joe is always at stand out
here to go and be wherever he wants to be
here in this feud, so he's always working well as
a heel. You know, he enjoys it. You could just tell,
like just turning back into a heel must have been
just like a comfort level for him. So he feels

(16:22):
good in the spot. This is where his role is.
And Adam Page, you know, do you have him here
with opponent like him?

Speaker 1 (16:31):
I like it.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
I'm always okay with Smo Joke being in.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
This part.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
And the continuation of Darby Allen and building him back
up now after being away, being in Mount Everest and
whatever other injuries he had the good and sustain and
recover from quite an equip match they put on tonight,
So I was surprised to see the aquarium. That's the first,
and the aquarium being brought in. They're gonna do water

(17:00):
water torture, waterboarding. Didn't expect that that's the topper. That
was the price going do that. How to figure other
companies might not go and do that thing right there,
but they did. And the aquarium thing was actually a
good move because of the fact that they had have
up there, you know, where Darby was on was stuck.
But then the power of sting and Stinger coming back

(17:21):
and people all over it and Stein looking really old down,
very old and wise whatever. It's like, you know, like
the Jedi coming back, you know, and here he goes
and Darbion just got the power sting in him and
that was it and Moxley's out. Kind of interesting where
they just went with the full sting move and then

(17:43):
that was all that needed to happen with a Scorpion
death drop. The scorpions deathlok excuse me, to get John
moxy to gun and tap out. I thought it was
kind of interesting to go that route. It wasn't evening
more severe that was going to take out John Moxley,
but I guess that was enough. It was quite gruesome.
The fingers st off, the skewers, damn something else, rn
something else about all that. There's a lot more to

(18:08):
bring up that's gonna be coming around that I need
to go and talk about, which is where the creative
process is going right now. A lot of changes coming
up when it comes to w It looks like apparently
calls from NXT to s backdown are going to be
taking place sooner rather than later. I saw sal Ruka
and Zaria together in tag team to go work, so

(18:28):
saw rook is already up that way and more will
be coming up. We don't even to talk about the
fact that now has a new senior director of creative
strategy because of an AI based storytelling and AI integration.
I will table that for a Wednesday show because there's
a lot more to say about that. And that was
all talking about. Well, I want to go and wait
for all that and come to it a little bit later.

(18:51):
I saw the video this week about Subative a Care
getting ready to go and do her entrance and she
was practicing it with Cripple H. And there's something here
just like Triple H is feeling like off getting so
involved in this right here, and I just feeling like, Okay,
why don't I feel like Triple H is like if

(19:12):
he hasn't tried to have an affair with Semnifica care,
I can believe it something about that there's something there
that feels I don't know, I just feel like there's
something there where Triple H is in this mix and
it's like, I don't know, there's something something there's about this,
about the attention to detail about it, and there's a

(19:34):
lot more to go and talk about. So in the
concess he believes fans will travel this out of your
rebbia for WrestleMania, and then that w is reportedly posting
a better churn rate than on the live sports for Netflix,
so they're getting the most sports buzz on Netflix and
anything else and media posts and Wade Friedman said that

(19:55):
subscribers that joined Netflix You're raw, say, subscribe at much
higher rate than one off sporting events like Netflix is
Mike Tyson, J Paul about or the NFL Christmas Day Games. Yeah,
So it's as simple as one thing is weekly to
give you a reason to good and stick around, and
then one offs. I mean even HBO learned about that.
I was reading a book and I only got to

(20:16):
some point and that I just stopped where you know,
HBO had subscribers for events and then he started doing
regular series to get more people to watch and to
binge it. So that's a different story. So, like I said,
there's gonna be a lot more to go and bring
up on the program next week. So why am I

(20:36):
gonna go and you know, bluster around for another few
hours on this. So we're just gonna just see it
right here. That's Russel dream kind of flatten to me.
Three or four matches that really mattered. That's how I
told about it. So come back this week. Coming up
for those of the rescues were a podcast because wrestling
needs us Bosch the book Bambrasing bas
