sell out.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
TENE Slimmer Versary Tonight from New York Guess how's not
New York City, Long Island and yeah, another night of
TEENA and their heralded career. And I can say, going
back to twenty ten, TEENA does this thing where they
(01:02):
don't mind if somebody comes in to help elevate their brand.
They sell themselves out in the process. And there are
some things that probably come about as a result of it.
Right when I referred to twenty ten, I must say this.
At one point, Eric Bischoff ho Cogan were brought in
(01:26):
to TNA. Dixie Carter, I guess she liked what she
heard from them and allowed them to go and come
on in and made whole self sweeping changes to all
TNA and what it was, the sixty minute Adrenaline Rush
Gone two hours. Moved the show from Thursday nights to
Monday nights because they wanted to go and go ahead
(01:49):
to head with the It only lasted two months and
then things kind of just changed around while Eric Bischoff
and Ho Cogan were still under contract. Remember TENA Lockdown
twenty thirteen. That is the attendance record that he and
a Slimmer Versary tonight broke seventy six to twenty three.
(02:10):
They broke seventy two hundred at the Alamodome in San Antonio,
Texas or Lockdown. And if you look at what they
offered the audience there for TEENA Lockdown, it is kind
of humorous. As a matter of fact. Let me see here,
(02:30):
so you go ahead and look at what happened on
this particular show, because I was fascinated about what they
actually had. It was a three way ex division match
with Kenny King over Christian York and Zeba Ion. And
I forgot some of those names. Christian New York, I
forgot about him Joseph Park over Joey Ryan whose name
cannot be mentioned again. Zevias Guy beating Gail Kim for
(02:54):
the TENA Knockouts title. Listen, I like Velvis Guy, but
at that time spitting grew up into a single role
and getting to this role here, I was like, you know,
I didn't know what to think about that right away.
But again it was a draw that you know, Bischoff
and Hogan thought this is who they thought that should
be there. Robbie T versus Robbie E. This was this
is that this show one of the biggest shows for TNA.
(03:16):
A triple threat match for the TEENA World Tech Game titles.
It was a dirty, dirty heels with Bobby Root in
Austin Aery's. That was a good team, but you know,
I was Chavald Grew and Hernandez and then they took
on Bad Influence West Briscoe versus Kurt Angle and a
steel cage match and Wes Briscoe won. Oh my god.
(03:38):
And Garrett Bischoff used to be in some of these matches.
Remember that the old aces and eights thing, so keep
that in mind. Aces and Eights was a prominent angle
in TENA Lockdown, Thus the Lethal Lockdown match TEAMTNA with Steing,
James Storm, Samo, Joe Magizon, Eric Young taking on Devon
Doc Mister Anderson Knucks and Grey Bischoff for Aces and
(04:00):
Eights and Bully Ray over Jeff Hardy for the TENA
were Heavyweight title and Bully Ray revealed themselves as the
leader of Aces in eight. So that was when the
culmination of the Aces and the angle took a lot of
shape because we were still who they were. It's like
they or them, remember that. So this is the kind
(04:20):
of thing we're back into again. Now it's not Beschoff
and Hogan in play because let me just put like this,
what happened when Bishoff and Hogan were around. He did
what he did, and then what happened, Oh, October twenty thirteen,
o' cogan leaves TNA, contract expires, not much more from
(04:42):
Eric Bischoff after that point, and what happened the next
year TNA lost their TV deal with Spike TV. Thus
several years of wilderness with Pop TV, Descination of America
and Pursuit Channel just saying okay, when TNA has done
a deal with the Devil like this here with Bishoff
(05:03):
and Hogan. It has burned them in the past. So
Carlos Silva now who has definitely become the on screen
figurehead of TNA, the TNA President. He's here now obviously
coming out to go ahead and celebrate the World Tidle winners.
(05:23):
He's been doing the interviews out there and now he's
being noticed. People notice his name now, not like Ed
nor Holm was there who was kind of like just
in the background, right, And definitely a change from when
Scott the Moore was let go at December twenty twenty three, right,
So it's been a year and a half that the
(05:45):
more has been gone. He set up wrestling. That's where
we are the current day TNA and then the start
restart of the NXT partnership from w to TNA and
what us TNA gotten so far. We talked about it
this week leading up the Slimmiversary. TNA now gets CAAA,
(06:08):
Nick Cohn's agency where he came from before becoming the
president of w under TK and prior to that, to
get them a TV deal within sixty to nine a days.
That's what Carlo Silva said right now is supposed to
be in the works and they've been talking about what
(06:30):
channels might pick them up. A and E could be
a possibility. That's an interesting place to go. We've also
heard to B We've heard some of the channels, but
nothing's really concrete, nothing's really said. So that's one of
the things you're looking to go and get right now. Now,
what has happened, it's not necessarily where NXT and we
(06:54):
had taken over the entire scope of t Anda. I
think they've led a few things go where even in
the slip Versity matches tonight, you felt a little bit
of the teenage spirit as still there, which is good.
But no matter what, they are still mired right now
with the fact that they now have your World haweight
(07:17):
champion is an NXT star, and Trick Williams. You have
an NXT star who's NXT Women's Champion now the knockouts champion,
and JC Jane as predicted, I figured those two stars
would become champions if it wasn't gonna be Jordan Grace.
She lost to JC Jane at Evolution. Okay, and so
here we go.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
J C.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Jane now double champion. Trick Williams now retains a teenage
heavyweight title in a sneak win over Mike Santana, which
a lot of the social media following the juveile, delusional
fanom out there, by the way, who decided to jump
on the bandwagon tonight because of all this NXT intrigue
(07:58):
that has been created for a teenage saberversary, because who
would be winning? And one of the things that everybody
was kind of thinking right now, a lot of the diehard,
gu little delusional fandom wanted Mike Santana to win. Oh
what a great story. It's in New York, seven dozen fans.
It's like the story being told. Yeah, I get that part.
(08:19):
But as far as I know with TNA, from what
I've seen of Mike Santana, they haven't done enough with
him to warrant a title. I mean they never put
him with the ex Division title yet, have they. Has
he had a title yet? I mean, he's had featured
feuds towards the main event, but he hasn't had a
(08:39):
lot of main event matches in TNA. It's still a
major thing to go and ask for for him to
go ahead after the success with Ortiz, to break off
of that and to set himself up here in this
current setup splitting when he went in the AAW he
had to split. Then moves on to TNA and TNA
(09:01):
can do what they can, and I think part of it. It's
got to be said too that Scott the More probably
had plans for Mike Santana when he was brought in,
brought on, and think about that too. There are a
lot of Scott the More standouts that you know they're
not here, and it's something to be said about, like
where you see you know, Tommy Dreamer and the team
(09:23):
there and what they're able to go and do within
the booking of what they're allowed to do for the
most part. Look, you have the bus that open folks
there tonight because Tommy's a part of it. You get
Lagreca there. They now have their twenty four to seven
Serious XM channel. I don't know who's going to listen
to that all day, but I'm not paying your subscription
(09:44):
for that. So there's the exposure there. You get a
big gate and a big crowd tonight for Teenage Subniversary.
Maybe a lot of fans that don't watch TNA, maybe
a lot of people that come from other wrestling promotions
that would come to a TNA show. Yeah, they probably
got double what they would normally get because they could
(10:06):
go they could get maybe three four thousand people for
an event for a teenage show when Scott the Moore
was running it. So they got double tonight. Good for them, okay,
and then we're gonna run bigger venues. So this is
the plan. This was something they were always trying to do.
But in Carlosivia's eyes, he knows he wants to go weekly.
He wants to go live because that's what puts him
(10:28):
at level with aw and there to be in that
race for everyone wants to go ahead and start calling
TNA the number two promotion. They can't be called that
because they don't have a weekly TV show live. They don't.
They're still right now in the second tier. Okay, they
(10:51):
might have weekly television, but they are taped just like
Real Honor Is which is on Honor Club. Same thing
like NWA, which now is going to have power on
the Rokuo network. They're in that same room right there.
Even MLW right now doesn't have a TV regular TV
thing right now that you're just doing pay per views.
(11:11):
But that's what we got at this moment. There's not
a weekly TV deal set live, then you can start
putting them into the mix where Okay, if they get
pulled shows like that regularly and definitively keep out drawing aw,
then you call the un two promotion. Fine because they've
been there before, but you can't put that there yet.
(11:33):
So for those that are going out there, Tampa down,
Tampa down. Okay. So, as I said, we are here
now again at the same spot as before some ten
years ago or fifteen years ago, if you want to
ask for that, because that three year almost four year
(11:53):
long period where a bitch off in Hogan and then
leaguering your effets after that caused another promotion to lose
a significant TV deal, except for the one difference was
when WCW was gone, they're gone, Like they might know
how to try to find a way to gohe and
restore it and bring it back. Couldn't be done. But
(12:15):
then you go here with TNA and near death or
years near death, and I'm really was surprised that this
company survived as it did in the most meager of
places as they did. Like I was really surprised at
Pursuit Channel. I was like, man, they are on their
(12:36):
last legs and I watched that channel, man, I was
able to get it. I watched it, and it was
kind of tough because then it was a while where
pursuing it was this premium channel on cable and I
couldn't get anymore and no one else was offering it
so I could catch it, and that became a problem
Access TV. So far, they've been you know, with Anthem Entertainment.
They've helped to bring this aboard. But of course it's
(12:58):
another company that wants to go ahead and make money. Man. Okay,
they're just a smaller version of TKO because they also
have their own combat sports division, Bella Tour. If that's
even still around, I'm not even sure. But they have
their own interest in trying to build a company in
the same vein as TKO Group holdings, same kind of
model in a lot of ways. But there's a lot
(13:19):
more money in TKO than there is an Anthem. But
that's okay. They're not afraid to get into some of
the things that TEENA would do where or what the
we does now with the mass having full of ads,
they didn't put them in the ring, Hey good on them.
They put them around the rate as smart and of
(13:40):
course the table at the broadcast booth. They promoted the
A List whatever that was that they had. That's fine.
You know, the energy drinks and other programs they had.
All these different deals are making the good monetize good
for them, Hey make the money. TENA had a lot
of merchandi obviously, and they sold a lot of merch
because the merch tables were full. From what I saw.
(14:00):
They got the crowd there, they spent money. They made
some money tonight. But they're still going to have their
career current deal right now where they're gonna go in
du a venue, go there for four weeks tape shows
and then lead up to the next pay per view,
which is bound for Glory. It's outside of Boston, Massachusetts.
And if you want Mike Santinna to go and have
(14:22):
a chance to go and win the world title, maybe
the plan is to go and booket for them. I
mean Josh Alexander had to go through that. Remember he
had chances where we almost won the belt. Joe Henry
last year almost won the bet and then he finally
won the belt. It's just what they do. So now
we're at this point where we're back to the setup
of what they put out tonight, which wasn't a bad show, Okay, overall,
(14:48):
two of the matches I were kind of very predictable.
To me. It's unfortunate, but what are you gonna do? Right,
It's like it's what they're gonna do. They had a
couple of matches that came up early in the pre
show the Elegance brand. They retained the Knockouts World Tag
(15:08):
Team titles, Hometown Man who was formerly Cody Deaner and
formerly Deaner as part of the design. He's now just
under a different name. He's still there. And then you
had Fourth Rope or what's called the rope Breakers that
was Enzo Morey. Now they're known as Real One zilf
(15:29):
up to Umaga's son and Joshua Bishop. They defeated Steve Macklin,
Jake Something, and Matce Warner. Yeah. Matce Warner like just
kind of like out of the mix. I mean him
and Sammy Callahan having pretty big feud going on with
each other in blood matches and stuff. None of that stuff,
(15:49):
by the way, No a hardcore rule matches except for
the ladder match, and even then it was like it
wasn't too much. So they didn't go hardcore on a
TNA pay per view, very no blood, very rare to
see that happen, but that is what happened tonight. You'll
lead off the night with must of Ali with his
secret service et cetacall Center. Had a good match, Don't
(16:12):
get me wrong. I mean, how many more times we
need to see you see the lumbar move, the extra
big you know, backbreaker with the bounce. It's enough of that.
But most of Ali continues to go ahead and win here.
You know, he still made very important and I think
he's done very well for himself outside of w because
(16:32):
even made prominent here. It's kind of the push that
Naomi got when she was Trinity as not go out
the world champion. Here it's that same kind of thing.
So for him, that was really good. Matt Cardona, good
to go and see him in the match to night
with a system. They defeated Dark State, So dark State,
I just don't care about it. His retribution all over again,
(16:53):
but they're still given, they're still given time for this
group and letting him go out there, and I don't
know any of these guys from him, and I just
don't care. So Matt Carter in the system. That's the
right move for that. A former NXC standout and former
debree star, wasn't she a tag team championship right, Indy
Hartwell over Tesla Blanchard, Which that was pretty clear. Andy
(17:17):
Hartwell gets to win. Tessa Blanchard Dela rossa Negro story
will never go away. She's gonna she's gonna live with
that for the rest of her life. I'm not here
to go and say that. You know, what she did
wasn't wrong. Okay, I'm not saying that, but I mean
she's gonna be black ball for life. She's like Chris
Brown in this company. I mean, they're never gonna let
(17:40):
that go. So she comes in here, she's got Victoria
Crawford by her side, and they got heat back on
her for the match, which okay, fine, but the heat
wasn't even on Indy Hartwell. It was on GM Miller,
the ring side, the long time ring side interviewer. So
I guess I know she's been working on trying to
(18:00):
get herself ready for the ring, and I guess that's
what's gonna happen now. All right, Anyways, j C Jane
over Masas Slamovich. It was a good match. But I
could have told you that Masha Slamovich two hundred and
sixty seven days as knockout the world champion who beat
Jordan Grace for that title, would have been nice to
see a rematch in this this tonight, but they didn't
(18:23):
want to do an evolution. Jac Jane is their girl.
That's who's right here and now. By the way, I
also saw the visual of the fact that Mandy Rose
a couple of years ago under Fatal Attraction had both
belts too NXT Women's title and the NXT Women's North
America to the United Kingdom Championship. Xd UK forgot about that.
(18:45):
So yeah, for whatever reason, it's kind of like a
shot the Mandy Rose. Here you go. J C James
a double champion? Really? JC James a double champion? You know,
I just feel like it's like in your face kind
of thing. Just do it. Just a tour, that's all.
So after this, I was kind of like, you know,
(19:06):
seeing the system win, seeing most of I'll leave win
out of this. That's fine. Little bad tastes in the
mouth with Tesla Blancher taking another pen because she lost
to Jordan Grace before at Genesis and here we go
once again with let's same thing going. She just takes
pins and she's not gonna get any titles anything. If
(19:27):
she's not going back to the knockouts title of the division,
she's not going back to that main event anytime soon.
Just not gonna happen. And also I used to like
it when Tesla Blanche had to go up against men,
So I did like it when she went up against
seam Keellahankause. I remember, and I've said it before, that
feud was fantastic. It really was. Now Leonslator Revolution Pro
(19:52):
GCW stand out and in this company, he's been here
since twenty twenty three and he has worked his way up.
And Leon Slator is the makings of a star that
you see that comes into TNA and shines. That guy
is a number one X Division star, no doubt about it.
(20:12):
That's just the way it is. And a really great
match with Moose Moose, really good match tonight with him
and how they set it up and Moose obviously trying
to work his way out of the ring and all
this right, So I liked all that, and I forget
if Moose is part of the system or not. I
guess they kind of split off. I forget, but no
matter what, Leon Slator and a fifteen minute match X
(20:32):
Division Champion, awesome Benn to ask for more, really great
showing for him. That is one of the young bright
stars of TNA, which there's not a lot of those
in here in this company. There's not at all, which
is really really odd. But this is one of the
real standouts that under the Scott De Moore realm he
(20:53):
was bringing in, came in before TNA became TNA, and
here we go in a good setup. The fact that
Leon Slator has said before that his dreams is to
work with AJ Styles. He's always idolized AJ Styles and
AJ Styles the phenomenon one. They promoted it early on
in the night and even before that that AJ Styles
(21:16):
was going to come in and return to TNA, and
he did, and he did give a reing endorsement to Leonslator,
and you could tell AJ Styles was happy to go
and come on back. But again after a lot of
stuff that happened to in this company. But again, it's
been a long time since he's been around. I mean
it's been almost ten years, right, removed from this company,
(21:38):
you know, and making it now coming back in. There's
nothing of Dixie Carter in this company. It's under w's
control more or less. They've got a lot of control
of the booking right now on the main event side,
which is what they care about. It's obvious that or
(21:58):
somebody there's just and stars they want to make sure
that they care about at the very front and center.
So the world titles right now with Trick Williams and
GC Jane, those particular feuds, those particular programs they care about,
they're holding the pencil for. There's probably directors going up
from Stanford saying this is what's gonna be booked. So
(22:21):
Trick and JC holding all these belts, We'll see how
long they're going to hold onto for. I mean in
other cases, it's not like AW was taking over everything.
Like remember AW was just trying to go ahead and
bridge partnerships during COVID. So Kenny Omega comes in and
he was the one holder of any title, which was
(22:43):
the world title, but did drop it well, x Orry
was dropped to Christian Cage. But no matter what, Christian
Cage then dropped it to Josh Alexander, Right, wasn't that
what it was? But either WAD way. They didn't affect
the rest of the roster, which is one thing that's
got to be said about this now. No, he's Austin tonight.
(23:06):
I forget if he's heard or not. I'm not sure.
We had the four waight tag team ladder match for
the world tag team titles. I really like this match.
I really liked it. The Hardys, the Nemes, the Rascals,
which I did not know, and I forgot that Myron
Reed had been occasionally part of the Rascals. Forgot all
(23:26):
about it. The young goat and they refer to any
young goat on commentary MLW former middleweight champion. Awesome and
really ready to go and see him here in this
space and he has not missed a step. He is
just rocking and rolling. And Casey Navarro as part of
first Class tonight, also fantastic. And you know what, people
(23:47):
can shit on AJ Francis as all he wants. You know,
I think he put himself out there, took some real licks,
the world's largest moon salt. Took that lick to that ladder.
Shock couldn't have felt going through his legs and taking
a crowd shot to the ladder as he falls into
it and doesn't break. That was brutal, but took the hits.
(24:09):
The Nemus took the hits a very creative, crafty way
where they took all the ladders and broke them all up,
busted them all up, only for Jeff Hardy to go
and come up with something crafty and have one of
those helicopter type ladders dropped down next to the belt
hanging above the ring or the belts, and eventually we
(24:31):
get up there win. And I actually liked that that way.
They kind of set that up where they brought that
in and of course other people went up that ladder
to go up in the ring, which you know, you
could have made that an X Division title match, but
they didn't do that. It's gonna be a ultimate X match.
You could have made an ultimate expany didn't bother doing that.
That's okay, but this said it was good. I really
(24:53):
enjoy this tat ladder match actually actually was pretty well
booked out, So good on there for that. And these
are the two matches, Leon Slater's Exhivision title win and
the Hardy's retaining the World Tag Team Sintles standouts of
the show tonight. I did enjoy that a lot. Now
Billie Ray comes out to set up Team three D
(25:17):
and the Hardys one more time at Bound for Glory.
We're gonna just kick it off here. I I don't
mind that at all. Man, Listen, they might be up there,
but you know, the ceed Team three one more time
for almost like in a retirement role. I would imagine
it's indicative to the fact that, you know what I mean,
the Hardys have had their career in TNA, had a
(25:38):
lot of legacy behind in TNA, regardless of what you
think about Debree, and you know what, it is kind
of something about that be said where the Hardys and
the Dudleys can still have a match that's not gonna
be in Debree because of course they had the TLC
matches over there. We're not gonna get that over here.
But the finish of this feud with these two culminates
(26:00):
about for at a TNA show. I think it's kind
of cool and I like the fact that they kind
of bring that kind of nostalgia back because there's histories
with both of these tag teams in this company, multiple
tag team champions, and a lot of gimmicks from this
as well. Because the Team three d gim make you
know it's what basically was a dud least like a
(26:20):
different field to it. But then Bully Ray pating his
own character in here and amazing, like when you see
certain tag teams and seeing them split off. TENA was
always good about that, right when James Storm split off
from America's Must Wanted and the standout that he was there,
Bobby Rude, you know, whether he was a singles title
(26:40):
holder or coming into a tag team several times and
stand out, it's just who they had in there and
how they were working with them really well. Now I
can appreciate that match coming up. That's great, that's wonderful.
And then Trick Williams over Joe Hendry and Mike Santana.
Mike Santana had a fat Shoe looking like out there
(27:03):
by the way, fat Joe's performing at Sea World. I saw,
and nobody cared. They could have just hired him to
go and do this show tonight, because I'm sorry. Mike
Santana had this fat Joe sounded like I don't know
him from Madam either, but you know they thought, well,
the New York crawd New York, New York gotta get
Mike sand dinner right there in New York. Oh, they
(27:24):
didn't care about that. Trick Williams wins again retains, But
the thing is, Joe Henry's moved on. Okay, they're not
gonna worry about Joe Henry being part of this now. No,
we're not gonna worry about that. So Joe Henry's out
of that title picture. The plan is Mike Santana gets
screwed because he was strung another ring after Santano's getting
(27:45):
ready to go and make the pin, and there we go.
Trick Williams takes over, takes the quick pin cheap, but
gets the victory, gets out of there like the chicken
shit heel that he is done. Do you think with
any heart with a mass Slamovich where she had to
pin after the rep bump, but then another referee comes
(28:07):
in not enough time, Very classic, and Ja C Jane
still wins because she has to help a fedal influence.
So the few things to bring up within what happened
tonight about leading up to slimmiversary and what happened a
couple of things that came up an ax I thought
would be going to bring up and say something about
that it's okay. So again, North American Tennis record seventy
(28:29):
six hundred and twenty three fans for Slimmeriversary. So the
events that would have been that would have surpassed that
would have been when they were in the Olds Arena
in England. I think those were ten thousand plus. And
there were several people on X that were making comments
about the show tonight, the fact that Slimmer Versary doesn't
(28:50):
sell out tonight. They did sell out. One person is saying,
why do AW fans have such a hate bone of
for TNA, a company not named the WV doing these
coming numbers as a w It means more viable options
for fans the wrestlers, and it should be celebrated. They
were always there just because w decided to go ahead
and embark in a partnership with their NXT brand with TNA.
(29:11):
Now there's some more people watching and listening in Okay, Yeah,
they're doing that because of this, because Trick Williams and
JC Jane are title holders over there, and maybe they're
gonna sample some of the other stuff that's over there.
Then there's another person that says that all this AW
hating trolls praising TNA just doesn't sit well with me.
I was a diehard TNA fanily sting was there. I
put up with the zach same bullshit from haters that
(29:32):
I do now being an AW fan, the same thing,
and people are so willing to openly contradict themselves. Another
person writing, if you're throwing any negativity towards TNA doing
a really impressive crowd tonight, you're a bit of a dick,
and then comments that came up earlier today from the
My World with Jeff Jarett podcast and Jeff Jarrett making
(29:53):
comments about the current goal of TNA. Jeff Jarrett long
time at TNA. He says, quote, I we don't to
this day know what the business model like, what is
the plan? And partnerships are great, whether it's AW or
WE or Noah or whoever they partner on with. I'm
trying to figure out what is your goal here with
all these partnerships, but more importantly, what's your girl here?
Speaker 1 (30:14):
Like?
Speaker 2 (30:14):
What's your direction? Where are you headed? Is it to
eventually sell? That's where we don't know. So it's really
hard to understand what's your goal here. I don't know
Anthem could sell the brand to W. I don't think
that's going to happen. I just think that Anthem is
looking to go ahead and bring themselves to the level
to compete with AW more or less, to go ahead
(30:37):
and take out for w's sake. Let's put it like that,
because if W doesn't want to have to worry about
this part, well, if they can use TNA as an
option to go ahead and put a three headed race
in place where TNA and AW have to go and
compete with each other, leaving W without worrying about competition,
(30:58):
because you just kind of like take away both. You
would also go and affect the fact that AW stars
if they want to go somewhere else, they're not going
to go to W, but TNA would be a viable
option for them. It's things like that people could go
in consider. Now. Some of the comments who were made
by Carlo Silva, and this was a couple of days
ago leading up to Slammiversary tonight, and he talked to
(31:24):
Barstool Sports and there was some comments he made over
here about what had happened with TNA so far and
how he approve of what they have been doing with
the NXT partnership, and how.
Speaker 4 (31:35):
Did the partnership with WWE really come about and kind
of develop with TNA because recently there's been a lot
of crossover. Obviously Joe Hendry appears with the TNA World
Championship at WrestleMania, and then something like even Trick Williams
beating Joe Hendry for the TNA title on a WWE show.
How does all of that develop?
Speaker 5 (31:53):
I mean it started really with Roald Rumble when Joe
was part of that is surprised there, and then with
him being this prize Randy opponent at at WrestleMania. I
think it was just the beginning of it, and we've
just continued to cultivate how we want to work together,
how we want to move things up and down and
even sideways in the case of Triple A.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
It's just been.
Speaker 5 (32:13):
Great working with everyone, whether it's working with Shawn Michaels
and Johnny down at NXT on a weekly basis, and
you know, including you know, Nick and Paul on the
ww East side. They'd just been very supportive of what
we do to continue to bring surprises and new storylines
to the fans, and I think it's working really well.
Speaker 4 (32:33):
Say something like the TNA World Championship getting dropped on NXT.
Are you working more and dealing more when talking about
that with Sean or with like is that like a
Hunter and Nick decision?
Speaker 5 (32:44):
It's all, but we we do deal directly with Sean
and Johnny at NXT, you know. I mean, as you've
seen over the last couple of weeks on the CW,
I mean, every show, including last night, has featured something
building towards Slammiversary, and then you get some really great
things like you have WW on social media posting it
and saying, you know, TNA Slammiversary coming July twentieth. I mean,
(33:08):
you couldn't ask for a better partner to put all
that together to drive us to this this, you know,
this three way match between you know, Trick and Santana
and Joe.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
I mean, it's I mean the most important thing for TNA.
If this means the live weekly program that they've been
hoping for comes to fruition, Okay, that's the end goal.
But there is a risk that comes with going after
this goal. That's all I want to make clear about this.
(33:41):
If they're going to go that route, do we like
the idea they're going to go and do this anyway
and say, Okay, we're just going to go ahead and
accept the fact that another outside force is helping us
to go and build our brand once again on with
another outside brand that let's be honest and next team
(34:05):
have their own interest behind what they're doing here. It's
not just like some wonderful partnership. There's something to be
said about what they're gonna get from it. Okay, the
NXT stars get a chance to go and get a
rub over the ten A brand, But no matter what TEENA,
(34:26):
they're gonna let the booking go as they want to.
On the main events side, it's very clear they're not
worried about that part. They're happy to go ahead and
let things kind of go as they may if that
means they're gonna get that sweet TV money. Because of course,
if they get the production money, they can go out
there on the road and they could do this here
(34:47):
and get the shows like they want. Yeah, of course
you did a deal with the Devil. It's not even
deal with Vincement Band. It's this teen TKO giant here,
which at some point down the line maybe TNA might
be viable for w to have just like they have
with Triple A. They don't know they can might do
(35:08):
that because they're happy to go and buy promotions out
and they guess, see a just like how Tony Kombout
Ring of Honor TKA could buy, could definitely buy TNA.
It's not outside of the scope but as speculation. But
the one't ma any concerned about that until TNA becomes
(35:31):
that viable weekly product. They get to that, then of
course w is gonna want to have control of what
they can get in that timesot, in that product, if
they can use that to diversify some of their talent
over there. Because once again, has this really helped it
(35:51):
all with Trick Williams to put him into the title
picture here when it could easily be using him right
now on the main roster seth Rawns is down on injury.
Why can't we have Trick Williams up there? If bron
Breaker didn't need to be part of the Paul Haymen's stable,
why couldn't we have Trick Williams come on board and
(36:12):
maybe work with Carmelo Hayes and maybe work with bron Breaker.
Put those guys together in matches, Trick Williams go up
against Jacob fanto Hey, there's boundless options. But Trick Williams
it's time for him to already move up to the
main roster. But no, he's now miiring in TNA, DNA
and NXT. Now GC Jane's in the same role. But
(36:35):
I mean she's still working her way up. She just
became NFT Women's Champion a while back. Now she's this
double champion, trying to build her up. And then eventually
does this mean that not just her, but the entire
Fatal Influence faction moves their way up to the main roster.
I don't know, but this company has been obvious with
w E. They're not very confident in the decision to
(37:00):
go ahead and move people up to the main roster
and see the return on the investment, because they want
to go in and see somebody go in and sink
and swim in order. Then all of a sudden they
have to go and drop people off. And I remember
seeing a graphic earlier today about which w stars have
been on the roster and they're not even a part
of any of this, Like it's just you brought aneath
(37:21):
the page. He's him and Ricky Saints aremiring around NXT
you brought back Alister Black, you brought back Russev, you
brought back Andrade, and you brought back Sean Spears. Like,
has anything really panned out for any of those stars
coming in? They got a better pay checked, I guess
they got good pay going on anyway, it doesn't matter,
(37:41):
but we'll just kind of get lost. And that's the
part I guess that the company doesn't want to do,
is they don't want to have people to get lost.
But anyway, you could talk all about this on Wednesday
and see what they do and see what comes up.
Obviously NXT will be the first place to go and
go to see the aftermath of Slimmer Versary. They actually
(38:01):
have to talk about the n XT on CW because
of the title wins and what that means. I don't know,
but we'll find all about that coming up on Wednesday.
But you know, listen, I was fine. Listen. I'm not
overly bummed out or anything like that. The show is
fine tonight. Some of that teenage Player was there and
(38:22):
the exhibsion titel on that tag team ladder match, but
otherwise a lot of w NXT influence, no doubt about it. Anyway,
come back this Wednesday for another Wrestlers or podcasts. We'll
start talking about SummerSlam plans because wrestling needs us
