Speaker 1 (00:02):
Wrestling for Make Sure Audience Wrestling Soup. I Am Anthony
Thomas joined along with the alums Andrew Carluck and John Draper.
How are you boys doing?
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Tell us?
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Is everybody feeling this the evening?
Speaker 1 (00:22):
I'm just trying to keep the knife away from my wrists.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
It's Elton John said it best. I think I want
to kill myself.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Yeah, I'll help. We just got done watching Summer Slam
along with everybody else. It was not a good night one.
It was a very painful night one. They were all
I were they intentionally trying to make this show shitty?
I mean, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
A theory, but I'll wait till we get the paint.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
There's a reason that night one of a two night
event cannot have anything called the main event.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Yeah. Seth Rolins ruined the night. It was the cherry. Yeah,
I mean just just throwing it out there. Seth Rollins
cashed in. So before we even get into the gunther
and see him punk side if it see him punk
retained or retained?
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Shit?
Speaker 1 (01:06):
See him punk?
Speaker 4 (01:06):
What?
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Yeah? He got his title run for thirty seconds?
Speaker 3 (01:11):
They said five minutes. They said five minutes?
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Did they? Oh god, yeah, that's how long it took
for him to come out there and take off his
glasses and throw down his crutches and undo his little
wobbly fucking leg cast. And you know that's the thing too.
When he first got injured at Saturday Night's main event,
I wasn't convinced that he was really injured. And I
remember Joe and a lot of other people corrected me
on that one. They're like, nah, dude, he's fucking injured.
(01:35):
Look at that. Look at the way he fell.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
And I was like, oh, it was weird because he
did it doing a move that he doesn't do right well.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
And just then he convinced everybody it was really weird.
You know, Seth actually convinced people that he could sell it,
and then all the reports came out and oh my god,
Seth is gone for nine months.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Guys, he won't.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
Be on TV.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Why won't you live without me?
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Ah, Jesus Christ. And so he comes running down to
the ring and he jumps in the ring him and
see him Punk start going at it immediately seem Punk
tries to put him to go to sleep, and reversal happens,
and then Seth takes control and beats Seth or Seth
beats Seth. Yeah, no, Seth beats punk, Seth beats Seth.
I beat you guys. It was the only time tonight
(02:23):
I think I even heard the crowd. How about New
Jersey sucks? They suck. I'm sorry. I saw so many
people saying, Oh, no, the crowd's quiet because they're outdoors, Mash,
They're they're quiet because they're outdoors. You just can't hear them.
They're just there's just so many of them that you
just can't hear the christ.
Speaker 5 (02:42):
I'm sorry, I that's act to correct you. There was
chanting worms os.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
You know what is good in New Jersey, the road
out of it?
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Yeah right. It was a shit crowd all night. And
the only reason I know that you could hear the
crowd was by the time we got to the CM
Punk and Gunther match, you could actually hear people in
the audience, like individual people cheering seam Punk. So wasn't
a fucking audio issue. Everybody was convinced it was audio issues. No,
(03:14):
every time you looked at the crowd, everybody was sitting
on their hands. They had a dude dressed up like
fucking macho king sitting on his hands the whole fucking night, like.
Speaker 6 (03:22):
A long night, you know, miss with the pre show
and everything else and the early hortship. You get there
like three hours before the fucking show starts if you
want to get there at all, right, you know what
I mean, it's very difficult to get there.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Cardi b was the first thing. She took it out
of him. It's her fault.
Speaker 5 (03:37):
Yeah, yeah, so out of these motherfuckers, Oh, I laxed
me some.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Randy Orton, like what, she's a night performer.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
It was like a knife. It was like a knife
for Stripper to be there between her and Jelly Roll's wife.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Jilly Roll's wife. Yeah, yeah, we got some stuff to cover.
There's a few things, man.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
The uh I'm sure Randy Orange wife was there too,
so there's yeah, I mean.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
What the fuck she's at least she's a piece and
I don't fuck it. But yeah, well we'll reverse this
a little bit. We don't have to go in fucking
order because honestly, this is not tire. Night really didn't
make much sense through and through. But let's talk about
the I want to say the most the best match
of the night, which was seam Punk versus Gunther absolutely
(04:23):
started off slow. I was kind of surprised, but I
understood it. You're talking about, you know, without sounding like
I'm sucking horse cock over here to consummate professionals. And yeah,
they had a good fucking in ring match. Gunther was
dominant and that's what I wanted to see. And there
was points of the match where Cole was filling in
the blanks, but there was a lot of like the
(04:45):
vibe that a Cole or you know, seem punk is
getting old. He doesn't have what he used to. He's
he's out of his element right now, he's out of
his league. And it got to the point too, where
Gunther was feeding off of that. There was a point
where Guntherer was proud of himself and he walks over
to the title on the podium over there and he's like,
this is one of the best of the world. That's
(05:07):
me the ring and I'm like this, it's funny like it.
He's an amusing guy, like inadvertently, he's a very charismatic guy.
And I like the story that they told. I did
think the blood stuff was a little silly, and the
only reason I'll say is because and they did a
replay too, so in case you missed it the first time,
(05:28):
he saw it the second time when he was standing
up on the table blowing himself. See him, Punk runs
over on the outside, grabs him by the ankles, rips
him down, and then Gunther falls over. But when you
see him fall over, he repositions himself to bounce off
like the little shield, that little like fighter or puffy
(05:49):
shield or whatever it is that protects the tablets and stuff,
so he'd never hit anything sharp. He literally bounced off
of a flat panel, and obviously when he comes back
up from the table, he's gushing blood everywhere in mask.
And I'm like, I don't know about that one, and
I just about you.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
I was just grateful we didn't see him blade, like honestly.
Speaker 6 (06:11):
Because I was enjoying the match and I was like, finally,
this feels like an important match. Yes, And then I
was like, Okay, he's under the table.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
He's gonna come up.
Speaker 6 (06:20):
Probably he's probably gigging under there, and you know, he
must have cut a little.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
Too deep, guys, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (06:26):
He seemed like he was gushing, yeah, like literally gushing
blood right right, Andrew like it.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Was like maybe maybe he got a little over zealous there.
It looked really.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
Brutal, so obvious that he he did that when he
was behind, because it's like, oh, last time I saw him,
he wasn't and now he is right.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
Right, and he comes out there. He comes out there
looking like a fruit loop, right, or like one of
those like non fruit roll up, just the red all
straight down his face, and uh see him punk fucking blastom.
Not once with the GTS, but twice. It looked good.
It was a solid finish, and I was happy with that.
I was genuinely happy because I was thinking, I'm like, oh, okay,
(07:03):
well Gunther might actually win this, and I'm actually fine
either way. If Gunther would have retained and Seth tried
to cash in on Gunther, I would still be this
confused as to why the company keeps pushing Seth down
our throats. And I know I saw people already saying,
oh my god, wait till fucking Joey finds out. Joey's
probably at the airport right now, cussing his brains out.
(07:26):
I don't know if he's already at home, but fucking.
Speaker 6 (07:29):
Hell, Joey's detained. He's being detained by Homeland Security.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
Yeah, they're just beating him. Shut up, there's no Seth here.
Speaker 6 (07:36):
I was thinking about this too because I was like, oh,
maybe he is hurt. That's kind of a cool way
to end the show. And then I was like, this
fucker's not hurt. And then you know, you knew he
was gonna do it. I think Seth is Beth gets
like a thank you for just being there, Like, honestly,
just like the guy who shows up to your job.
(07:58):
It doesn't make it any better, but he doesn't make
it any worse. But management loves him because he's there
every day and you know he's married to, you know,
someone else who's a big star there that they are
in love with perpetually. I think it's more mish, like
a loyalty, like he's that he's their guy, like he
really is their guy, and you know, this is like
a reward for not testing the waters, you know, for
(08:20):
for he gets hurt a lot, but he comes back.
But he does get hurt a lot. He doesn't show
any aspirations to leave. He's not like a w bown.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
He's not he's not he's not looking to have garbage
pail matches to get hepatitis, to prove a point that
he's still a cool guy.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
I don't like Seth.
Speaker 6 (08:36):
Everyone knows we've been I make fun of Seth on
the show all the time. But guys, honestly, I just
think they don't really have a lot of people like
that left from the old.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
Guard, and the new Guard has taking him.
Speaker 6 (08:48):
He's grandfathered in, you know, and a protected guy till
till he leaves until he dies.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
Man, other guys he could do this with. Drew has
done a fantastic job. We're waiting for Drew to get
a title again.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
He's I think I think I have a theory this
that they and Andrew.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
You could call me on this too if you think so.
I think they.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Hold Drew responsible for a very dry times during COVID.
I think they gave him that thinking he.
Speaker 6 (09:12):
Could pull that off and help them as the COVID champion,
and it was so bad. It was absolutely terrible, And
I think that he's always going to have the stigma
of that on him.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
But I think he's kind of come out of that
over the last couple of years.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Yeah, that's that's the thing too.
Speaker 6 (09:29):
I think he's working to come out of that, like
by doing Internet buzz things and all these other things.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
But I just mean like that, but the other stuff
he's done, like the all the things with like Shamus,
the rival with Punk with Punk last year, which I
believe was the feud and matched the year last year.
You know, I think he's to any normal looking looking company. Uh,
he's done his penance for the for the COVID time.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
It's it's a weird thing because there are other people too,
not just Drew, but you have Shamus, who has new
life in him. There's even talk about aj Styles getting
ready to wrap up his career. I mean, you could
even go crazy with it and give it to somebody
like a Ron Killings, who we haven't seen in a
minute either. Like, there are a lot of other potential
guys that could take this time that I know, But
(10:19):
he's so unexciting, He's so uninspiring. I literally watched a
bunch of people saying in the chat while we're talking
about this even now, Seth is the reason I turned
the show off.
Speaker 5 (10:31):
Seth is the reason they don't have Mike Charismas they
don't have me.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
But you know, I see that song they come out,
they sing this song You're not They love this song.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
That's what I think John is onto something there too,
where like Seth gets hurt all the time, and when
he misses time it's pretty minimal, like he missed what
two months last year when he fucked up his back,
he missed three weeks. If there was anything real to
this one, the only thing I feel sorry for is
is his kid, because she's gonna grow up not knowing
her parents.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
I mean I could say something of ah. So yeah, Seth, Seth,
Seth wins, Seth winds the belt and the company has
all right. So let me ask you this, Andrew, Now
that we have Seth beating CM Punk for this, is
this the few that's gonna light the world on fire?
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Have you ever known a Seth few to light the
world on fire? No? No, no, but I do, But
I do like this match before Seth came out obviously
kind of proved to me that Punk hasn't early lost
that many steps. And from a thought that Gunther is
incapable of a bad match, yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
No, Gunther, Gunther and Cempunk were amazing. I'd like to
see that a few more times. I know that they
were highlighting all they haven't done this before, and this
was their big first meeting. But I think I think
multiple matches with Gunther versus CM Punk are desperately needed.
I would rather see more Gunther and seem Punk than
Seth and everybody else on the fucking roster.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
You know.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
It's just there's more invested there. And besides that, they're
both good champions. Both Gunther and CM Punk are proven champions.
There are people that like both of these guys, or
maybe even dislike both of them, but not in the
same way that a lot of people dislike Seth. Seth
is irritating, he's grating. He's a complete heel that comes
(12:29):
out there for babyface chance or sing a long time.
He's not a great character at this point. And while
Triple H may have a heart on for the guy,
it's like there's an entire other roster that they still have.
And while you are right John that the old guard
is starting to slip away, I saw Big Daddy and
the chat say what about Randy Orton. Randy Orton's another
(12:50):
fine pick.
Speaker 7 (12:52):
You know.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
I mean, Jesus Christ, many times we're gonna go to
that well? Guys, how many times do you want to
go to that well?
Speaker 3 (12:56):
He's still while John Cena all while John Cena is
the other belts.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
I don't think so. I know, It's just it's just
the company in itself is doing actually really well as
far as talent goes. I think they have more diverse
talent now than they ever have before, with the old
guys and the young and up and coming guys. I
think there's a real healthy mix. And you still have
all these EDXT prospects that are eventually gonna come up.
(13:21):
So it feels like the machine is well oiled, but
the busted cog, Seth Rollins constantly makes his way into
the picture. And it's not even like, oh, Seth Rollins
is picking a fight with somebody and they're gonna have
a feud on Raw or Saturday Night's main event. He
becomes the focal point of the entire show, Andrew, We're
going to get twenty fucking minutes on Monday of Seth
(13:45):
blowing himself of telling bron and Bronson Reid, oh and
you guys thought you were gonna win without me, you
can't do it. I'm so smart, Paul. You should have
never doubted me. I'm so smart. It's just a twenty minute.
That shit is incoming, you know it is? Yeah, well
we go from there. I mean, I fucking don't even
(14:07):
know where to go from there. I guess let's talk
a little bit about some of the other matches that happened.
We obviously had the Hollywood match of Randy Orton and
Jelly Roll versus Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul. Oh good,
I'll be honest this one. I was kind of nodding
off a little bit. The only time I really woke
(14:27):
up was when Logan Paul did his big fucking splash
to the outside on top of Jelly Roll. What do
you guys think about Jelly Roll getting in the ring?
I mean, obviously the guy lost a lot of weight
and he was training, But did he do a good
job tonight?
Speaker 2 (14:39):
We were on a streak of celebrities being good in
the ring, But that's.
Speaker 6 (14:44):
Over all That glitters isn't gold? Listen, he seems like
a lovely person. Every time I see him. He's relating
to some downtrodden human being. The music does nothing for me.
I can't believe it's popular, but like the reality is,
miss did this am I.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
Am I my drunk?
Speaker 6 (15:06):
Or did this happen right before the maina.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
This was an embarrassing co main event.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
Just not necessary. I I this should have been on
Saturday Night's main event.
Speaker 6 (15:18):
Andrew, don't you think something like that not not on
one of the four signature shows of the year.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
This was a pre met show at best.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
The whole show. Yeah, I think that's a little harsh.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
I think I think most of the show. No, but
Mish like, you don't think this would have been great
on Saturday Night's main event.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (15:35):
No, I think they should have just flushed the entire
night one and made this all Saturday Night's main event.
I think this whole night one shouldn't even exist. There
was real other than Gunther and see him punk. There's
there's not nothing memorable give to the rest of the rest.
Speaker 6 (15:49):
Of Braun possibly out and Braun possibly injured. Now clearly
he's hurt.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Yeah, or is that going to be more seth rollins?
Got it?
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Oh? Well?
Speaker 3 (15:58):
I mean, oh fuck, don't tell me that we're that.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
I didn't even think of that. Now you got me
thinking so stupid.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
I'm still mischievous. I'm like, wa, Rio, you don't know
what I'm gonna do.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Yeah, but Jelly, I think there's a problem. Yeah, we
haven't talked about Seth Rollins for forty five seconds.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Well, I mean everything was inspired by the undercard.
Speaker 6 (16:18):
Listen, the undercard felt like throwaway opening matches on lesser
dignified cards, or like Saturday Night's main event. Maybe I
did not feel like I was. The crowd was there
in size but not audible, that's obvious. But the the
the production was fine. But the matches, guys, I think
(16:40):
the crowd went there for the ambiance and then saw
these matches were dogshit matches and reacted appropriately.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
They were. They were awful. Look So yeah, Drew McIntyre
Logan Paul defeated Randy Orton and Jelly Roll via Pitt Paul.
That was a seventeen fucking minute match. Main event Summer Slam.
Tiffany Stratton feet of Jade Cargill in a singles match
for the women's championship. Seven minutes.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
That was my favorite part about My favorite part about
this match was when Jade hit her finisher and then
she waited a second to fall back to like pull
Tiffany over to the ropes.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
Oh my god, I fucking love we got to talk
about her. So while you're talking about it, No. But
the best part was is she throws her leg over
the ropes and then the referee calls it and she's like,
oh my god, how that food get there? Well, you
placed it there. I thought the fact that she was
reacting to like how did that get there was the
(17:35):
funniest fucking thing about that match.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
I think they need to start thinking about cutting their
losses here.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
It's just all to be ready. Crowd likes her.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
She guys, she's it's been so long, like it's not
it's not her thing.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
All I can say this is better than the Charlotte match,
but not by much.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Wade likes her. It was better than the Charlotte match.
It was Wade likes her a lot. He was talking
about how thirsty he was for some aide Cargill tonight,
and uh, yeah, now we know Alicia Fox, now Jade
cargo who knows.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
But we've kind of hit the new era. We've kind
of hit the new era in like the women's evolution
and everything. Maybe we should just accept the fact that
so they still have some divas and let them do
that kind of shit.
Speaker 7 (18:14):
Yeah, if this is the divas era, Jade would be China,
you know, in that regard, but they have girls there
that look, they forget about bird Person Girl and all
these They had some good, good women there, they do,
and they got some in development that you think might
be something, you know, you know that being said.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
I understand the investment in the Jade Cargo guys. I
think you made that investment and it didn't work out.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
So what do you do with her? Do you send
her down to Evolved?
Speaker 6 (18:43):
I'll never go to AW have to let her go
being bad in made for cable action movies.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
That's what she's going to be good at. Yeah, for sure,
you know, I mean, you know, I'm sorry. And she
probably can't act either, but that's okay. Didn't stop John
Cena for many years.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
It's we go back into But it's not in the industry.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
It's not even just Jade Cargill. Though Tiffany Stratton has
lost more than a few steps. I was talking with
Lou on Thursday about, you know, Tiffany Stratton, and it's
like she's trying for this baby face thing. I still
think she's never really recovered after her feud with Charlotte
at Russelemania. Yeah, I don't what do you do with her?
(19:25):
She feels completely lost. Do you just go back and
turn her heel again? Because this version of Tiffany Stratton
is it's really boring and the matches are not great,
and it's really wild too, considering she was the it
girl coming out of NXT. When she first came up,
the main roster were like, holy shit, it's about fucking
time we had some rejuvenization in this women's division and
(19:49):
Tiffany Stratton kind of brought it while we were surrounded
with people like Nya Jacks every week. So it was
fun to see Tiffany Stratton around. But now John Andrews,
she's awful, man, I can't.
Speaker 6 (20:01):
Yeah, I'm not gonna say she's awful. I'm not gonna
say she's awful, but she's definitely not what she was
when she got over. And I think the problem is,
you know, there's something about that WrestleMania match.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
I agree, I don't feel this.
Speaker 6 (20:14):
I don't feel the same about her, and I used
to think she was great, and I feel like gradually,
I don't know if you agree, Andrew, I think it
was a gradual thing.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
But I think they know the crowd wants her to.
Speaker 6 (20:23):
Be a babyface, and I think that, you know, like,
no matter what they do with her, she has to
be a babyface.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
But I definitely think something about that match and and
and how she's been sense is off.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
I think I agree with you too, But but I
also think that she's just kind of shown that she's
not quite ready for those high profile matches because this
is the second straight main pay per view that she
shit the bed and in between that it hasn't been
what she was before. So I wonder if there's like
a like a confidence issue that hit her there. But
(20:55):
she's definitely not She definitely needs a little bit more time. Uh,
she shouldn't have won title so quickly.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
What needs to get fixed. So maybe you guys can
clarify that too, because I really don't know what you
do to fix her. How would you fix to? I mean,
it's clearly in Ring.
Speaker 6 (21:10):
I mean it's in Ring, don't. I don't think her
promos are that bad or whatever. I think it's something
in Ring. I don't know if she just lost some
kind of confidence, but she just doesn't look as good.
Her shit doesn't look as fluid, she doesn't look like
you know, she looks a little herky, jerky like she doesn't.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
Look like no, like, she looks like I think this
is what I'm supposed to do. Yeah, and she's great, Listen.
Speaker 6 (21:33):
I think she's a talent. I think she's one of
the better people they currently have. But I think they
don't know what the fuck to do with her because
she's the big blonde with the big boobs, but they
got a hundred of them. But she's also more of
a real athlete and the crowd really reacts to her.
They like her tippy time. Shit, you know what I'm saying, Andrew.
I think it's also a part of the bad.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
Creative Yeah, I mean, and then again that guy think
her her natural Naturally, she's a natural heel. And they're
also trying to make her a baby pit, which.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
They're insisting she's a baby face.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
This entire her her. She was a babyface starting with
when she won the title up until now, and you
know she shouldn't be. But uh, this makes me wonder, like,
what's nice for her? Because I expected Jade to beat
her and her go into.
Speaker 3 (22:18):
Maybe I thought me. I don't know if it was
a shock. The match is bad, mesh, and it wasn't
like garbage bad, but it was like not Summer Slam
primary female match.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Right, you can do better, Matt better.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
They flushed. They flushed that few down the toilet too.
So right, there was a lot of a thought process
behind this that Jade Cargill was going to win, and
then you would have her and Naomi at some point
as champions kind of going at it, which would have
made sense. It would have been more about the triangle.
And then Bianca somehow gets involved and gets the title
from one of the two, and that's kind of where
(22:52):
the vibe was going as far as why Jade Cargo
was even really having this match, why she won Queen
of the Ring. And now we're at the point, well,
Tiffany just beat her and there goes her fucking Queen
of the Ring shit, and I don't know where we
go and they're not going anywhere. We don't know where
this is going, and we don't care. Right, So I'm thinking,
now at this point, you're probably gonna have Tiffany Stratton
(23:13):
versus somebody else, obviously, and Jake Cargill goes what back
down the card. Maybe she's gonna tag with Bianca again.
Like That's what I'm saying is this is one of
the feuds that was kind of squashed or like the
potential storylines that was just kind of thrown away.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
Then.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
But it's like, yeah, but.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
It's like, what do you do with with Tiffany next? Like,
you're probably not gonna put her with with Bianca in
a program because if Bianca loses to her, uh, that's
that's gonna fuck up both of them.
Speaker 6 (23:41):
It depends on how long they want to keep the
belt on her, honestly, and it's like, I don't know,
and who really, I mean, look, we could do this
all night, but like, I think the belt's probably better
with her right now, even as a.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
Shitty character, because there is the capability of her to
turn it around.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
I don't think this is forever with her.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
I really hope it isn't.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
I have a feeling they're just waiting for Naya to
come back and take it from Tiffy.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
They love Naya too. Naya is their set.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Yeah, in a lot of ways, You're not wrong. Naya
is the women's set.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
She's the female set. Naya.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
We got sammy' zan defeating Carrying Cross with Scarlet via pinfall.
The singles match lasted eight minutes, completely worthless. The entire
feud worthless, just fucking gone. People already making speculations at
the reason that Cross lost is because he hasn't signed
his deal yet. I don't know how true or part
(24:31):
of the show or whatever this deal this this contract
negotiation thing is. But Sammy going out there and winning
against Carrying Cross was the worst option if they would
have I don't know they could have done anything else,
but had Sammy straight up win, it was an interesting setup, right,
like I did like the point where Sammy started losing
(24:53):
control in the match and the announcers was like, Sammy's
getting angry, and.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
I'm like, Okay, Sammy, don't, yeah, don't do it.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
He's kicking fucking Carrying Cross on the ropes and the
teeth and shit, and it looks really good and seeing Knoxville,
he's doing a Johnny Knoxville on the guy. And then
there's a point that you know, Cross has the pipe
and then doesn't get to use the pipe and Sammy
blocks it and stuff, and then then Scarlet rolls the
(25:22):
pipe all gingerly in front of Sammy and that was
a weird moment. I'm like, Okay, what are we doing here?
Scarlett wants Sammy to beat the shit out of her.
Speaker 3 (25:32):
Man.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
I'm like, okay, storyline wise, I was peaked. I'm like,
what an interesting coincidence. And Sammy is like, you know,
doing the Willie won't He with the pipe for a
couple seconds and he throws it away. He's like, no,
I'm the best person in the world and I never
do anything bad. And then he goes on to beat Cross.
Speaker 6 (25:51):
And that was the end, you know, yeah clean, I mean, listen,
I've said this the last time, Like they Sammy would
have lost nothing for putting him over. Now, Cross would
have gained. Cross would have gained everything by getting put over.
And I don't know why they don't pull the trigger.
It's they did, Listen. He just had one of the
bigger T shirt sales recently.
Speaker 5 (26:12):
I don't think that's you know, I don't think they
would play games with the contract thing.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
I think it's a different environment now. But it's possible.
Speaker 6 (26:20):
Because they were having him job out like this even
when he was the top T shirt guy guys.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
So I don't know.
Speaker 6 (26:26):
I'm optimistic because I think him and Charlotte Charlotte, I
think him in Scarlett could do a lot of good
things there but I just really inferior.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
This was the kind of thing where I was like, why, why,
why are we even doing this?
Speaker 1 (26:37):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (26:38):
Andrew, Yeah, this was like due to it. If losing
was due to a contract thing, I don't buy that.
I think they were just kept him on TV. If
it was due to the dude contract, I mean, like,
you wouldn't have this, he wouldn't have a match on
you know, some would say their second.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
To fifty thousand crowd in Jersey, you.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
Know, yeah, yeah, so yeah, but I agree with everything
you said there. And it's like Sammy, Sammy needs something,
you know, you know they can all. I mean, chances
are War Games is coming up. They're gonna put them
back with Bloodline again. But it's like how many times
I'm gonna go to that.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
Well, there'll be multiple Samoan teams, They'll be like four Samoan.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
Right, and of course what we need we need to
heal Samy again.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
I think, well I kind of brought this up. We
were joking about it on the show the other day.
What if when Triplemania comes around? Because obviously WWE was
highlighting that they had their logo up and apparently WWE
gave them one of the Rustlemania stars, so apparently they're invested.
But what if sam comes back as El Generico at
triple Mania or something.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
I think that's honestly, I think that's just indie nerd shit.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
I don't see that. Oh I came up with the idea.
Maybe if other people said it, that's great, but I'm like,
I can't figure out what else to do with Samy, right,
So the reason that thought was birthed in my mind was, Hey,
they like bringing American stars into Mexico. Sammy doesn't have
really much going on. Why not make use of the
fact that once upon a time he was under a mask?
(28:05):
Because now that Sammy won this song, I don't know
a fucking thing that Samy's gonna do. I have no idea.
Speaker 6 (28:11):
I already have a white guy Masteradian as a Luches
though they're not gonna conflate it with that's getting over
that can't conflate it with another one.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Yeah, I mean you're probably right. I just I don't know, dude,
because I'm I like Sammy. I don't like Sammy's recent run.
I don't like this real American Sammy Zain shit that
he's been doing lately. I'm really over the vitamins brother,
Like I just Sammy Zain was always a smarter character,
like even during the Bloodline, even before the Bloodline when
(28:40):
he was with Kevin Owens, even when him and Kevin
Owens were going at it, he was always clever. He
was always witty, and now he feels stupid, like he's
just I don't know's it's weird to watch his character devolve.
Speaker 6 (28:54):
You know, put it back with the Bloodline. They'll they'll
have an angle there for him. Other than that, I think,
because that's so over. Anything less than that, it just
feels flat unfortunately, you know, And that's just where he's
at in his career, you know.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
I mean, I like him as a character.
Speaker 6 (29:08):
I don't like a lot of his Internet bullshit, but
in some of his other like he's a little insufferable
like a lot of people from the punk and hardcore.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
Community in real life, but he really is.
Speaker 6 (29:19):
He's incredibly insufferable on that world. But like I put
put crossover, you know, he's earned it. The fans want
to see it. This is one of those things where
it's like people are, oh, they listen to the fans.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
Well, the fucker. If they did, Cross would have a belt,
you know what I mean, Like they don't listen to
the fans.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
Cross needs a belt.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
Cross.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
His character is so big it'd be cool if he
got one.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
Yeah, that they if they just let him go and
let him be this version of the Devil's add.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
It when they let him go.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Look how more over he got this year? Guys, when they.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
Let that, when they made it seem like they're letting
that happen. We don't know that it's that's not a work,
but I'm sure it is.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
And where does ask Jamee?
Speaker 3 (29:56):
I hope?
Speaker 1 (29:57):
Well here's the other thing too, Andrew, where does Cross?
Let's go? Now? Cross just losses? Do we just forget
about this until the end of August.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
It's the only thing he's had to do all year? Really?
Uh so, yeah, what do you do?
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Raid time off for his book? They may gave him
time off for his book, right, yeare is saying TNA?
I mean yeah, he'd walk on.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
I was gonna say he would dwarf everybody.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
There, the dude him versus moose there for the title.
Speaker 6 (30:26):
It would be like absturd It would be like like
a moose gets about back, like even just him brus
Moose would be absurd.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
People would lose their fucking mind. We got to Charlotte
Flair and Alexa Bliss defeating the Judgment Day Raquel and
Roxanne via pinfall the Women's Tag Team Championship. Look, I'm
not on board with the whole Alexa Bliss Charlotte Flair
friendship thing. I know that there's a lot of people
that enjoy that little back and forth. And obviously there
was some stuff that happened in tonight's match where you know,
(30:54):
Rock Sanne was about to get plugged and fucking Alexa
mist and smash Charlotte Flair. By the way, in no
fucking world do I ever believe that Alexa Bliss can
cold cock Charlotte Flair with one punch. Just it was
very difficult, Like the Gunther thing was bad, But at
no point I'm like, oh, yeah, tiny four foot three
(31:15):
Alexa Bliss is gonna knock out six foot Charlotte Flair. Sure, okay,
that makes sense.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
Yeah, And I saw when I saw Alexa and Roxanne
and the ring against each other, I was like, wow,
imagine Alexa towering over somebody.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
Yeah, it's crazy.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
Yeah, well yeah, thanks for working.
Speaker 3 (31:31):
I mean, Roxanne is tiny, but she's pretty good.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
She's good, she's good, She's got some skills there. I
don't like.
Speaker 6 (31:37):
I don't really like Alexa. I don't know what they're
doing with Charlotte. This is just we need to push
them away from the main event.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
They'll put them in this bullshit.
Speaker 6 (31:45):
Uh and and at the expense of you know, you
know ros Roquel and Roxanne, who are both very good.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
I think they're both very very good. I know that
obviously Roquel's.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
Had some health issues that were really you know, fucking
hour up there for a little bit.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
Seems like it got past those I I hate.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
The fact that they have to do this.
Speaker 6 (32:05):
This reminds me of the two man Power Trip Andrew
just because they couldn't because they didn't want Austin or
Triple H near the title at that point, so they
just so like I guess Brock had or whatever, so
they just pushed it.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
To the side.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
Yeah, and then uhl to Triple H Terren's quad and
we got rid of him for a few months anyways,
which is well we so really needed at that time.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
Intint Yeah, I mean, uh, the match was what it was.
There was no real big fuck ups or anything that
wasn't intense. All go gott. It was all goga. The
whole match was all gone.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
I just not occurred to me though, you could have
a ladder match with Alexa, Roxanne and Zelina Vega and
they could just use stepstools.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
Yeah, of course, Alexa Bliss hasn't grown. She's the same
person that she was when bray Wyatt was around. I
don't understand the character. Raquel and Roxanne are fine together,
but Roxanne is just not believable as a wrestler. I'm sorry.
She's just so small. And I like her in the
vein of the character that she's building with the Judgment
day and obviously with Dominic and stuff like that. But
(33:05):
as far as taking her seriously as a competitor, it's difficult.
It's difficult when everybody I see that too. But but
she's got skills.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
I mean, she she can work in the ring like
her shit looks pretty good.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
Right to a point, dude, let me answer your question.
Speaker 5 (33:21):
If they pushed her as the cock eyed babyface who
loses a lot and then now is finally on some
kind of wind streak, would that have made more sense
for you?
Speaker 1 (33:29):
Because of her size. Do you remember Zia Lee. Zia
Lee was absolutely a fantastic wrestler. The problem was is
she had.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
Sorry person I saw up here in person?
Speaker 1 (33:39):
Actually did she come up to your knee or did
she come up past your knee? Because that was the
biggest problem with Zaia Lee. Wasn't the fact that she
wasn't a great wrestler. It was that it was difficult
to believe that this really small and frail looking woman was.
I shouldn't say frail because frail's misleading, but.
Speaker 2 (33:58):
Right, but it's if she can't go up to the ropes,
it's hard belief, right.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
Well, that's the problem with Roxanne, right, Yeah, So I
don't know, it's it's difficult. This match was what it was.
It went on for thirteen minutes, thirteen and a half minutes.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
Oh gosh, God, you wish you were talking earlier. Miss
about Alexa kinda hasn't changed since she was with very
whatt I would say, go even further back. She's pretty
much who she was practically when she was the Goddess.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
Yeah yeah, in a lot of ways.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
Yeah, I mean, because she's not really being she's not
really being dark right now. Other than carrying the dog.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
Yeah, she was always cute.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
I mean, listen, I got it.
Speaker 7 (34:35):
You know.
Speaker 6 (34:35):
I saw her at Bailey at the first NXT tour
up here and it was like mayhem.
Speaker 3 (34:41):
It was like it was almost like a riot kind
of crowd. They co mained event and it was her
versus Bailey, babyface Bailey.
Speaker 6 (34:48):
And boy, let me tell you, like she got heal
heat I saw in person. And you know, we're talking
about twelve hundred people and NXT tour. I get why
they invest in Alexa. I just think they have five Alexis.
Speaker 3 (35:01):
You know, she's a petite blonde girl, you know, cute.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
Okay, we have a hundred of these and they got
half of this, they got half of them, more of them.
Speaker 6 (35:11):
Yeah, Vincent repeat, like, you don't need to invest this
much in any blonde. And she's not even a big titty.
She's a tiny titty. But like you know, they love
the blonde big titty.
Speaker 1 (35:21):
You know, that's their thing. You know, I don't get
that you.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
Have one hundred Alexis. She doesn't have it. She's not
that great.
Speaker 1 (35:28):
She's Okay.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
Do you think that there's the internet?
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Do you think there's people in the back that are
kind of hoping that Alexa jumps on and kind of
converts herself the way Live did, because Live is a
night and day character. We've talked about it at nauseum,
the fact that we couldn't stand her for the longest
time and then one day she woke up got it
and all of a sudden she's been having fantastic matches
and everything else. Do you think wwe kind of looks
(35:53):
at Alexa Bliss with this run and kind of crosses
their fingers and says, you know, hope you can become
a Live Morgan.
Speaker 3 (36:00):
No, I think, guys, honestly, I think there is dividends
to sticking around. He's been around a bit. She's been
around almost what nine years? Yeah, maybe more than that
ten years if you had development. I saw her seven
eight years ago up here, maybe nine years ago. Maybe
at this point.
Speaker 6 (36:19):
You know, I think they if you're not leaving, if
you're not going, you're staying, right. So I do think
they have their favorites. We've all been subjected to them.
Tonight was a prime example, and honestly, Andrew, I think
it's more of the same. It's the reason why Sammy
wins and Seth does this, and you know why, Naya
is going to get a huge push again and this
(36:40):
is going to be the one where we convince everybody,
you know, I mean Andrew, they have she's one of
their favorites.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
She's in that crew, she always has been. And then
like they kept bringing her back up for more titles
and it's like, you know why, and then the braything
where they put her into the dark and it's like
that doesn't make sense at all. Whole thing was her
whole career has been. Outside of that first couple of years,
it's been the same old thing and no point.
Speaker 1 (37:05):
Yeah, yeah, but they love her and the fans of her.
We got uh well, actually at this point, we had
that weird pizza commercial where there are bickering and New
Days bickering for the pizza and then Nicky Bella comes
out as a pizza delivery person.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
Oh for god, Yeah, did you notice in that one
person you saw in that's put a slice in their mouth.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
No, yeah, that's awesome, dude.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
Because you know, not one of them eats pizza, especially
Papa not on TV anyway, that's for sure.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
Papa John's was a sponsor. They also had to make
up commercial. Later on, well, they have the Mabo Leyne
deal this right, which I don't feel bad about it all.
Actually I thought of that one was well done because
it wasn't campy. It was just yeah, I know, but
a lot of w w E commercials, especially like the
live action ones, are always so campy as fuck, but
(37:54):
it's like, produce them right. Well, the mabele one was
just the girls wearing fucking make up. Hi on Bianca Blair,
this is the makeup I wear, you know. Normal. Yeah.
So then we had the opener, which was Roman Reigns
and Jay Usso busting this feud up to defeating bron
Breaker and Brons and Reid with Hayman via pinfall and
at tag team match. I think the crowd was actually
(38:16):
very active for this, probably because it was the first
match in the card. Yeah yeah, but when I say that,
the rest the rest of these matches, with the exception
of the cash in and part of the Gunther and
CM Punk match, were absolutely dead. It was absolutely dead,
like it it was not an audio thing. This This
crowd was fucking sleep. They really were.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
You think, why should they come unglued? These are things
they've seen on television for free.
Speaker 2 (38:47):
Main, do you think some of that is due to
it being a large, open air stadium and we just
might not have heard anything.
Speaker 6 (38:54):
They've they've mic those venues before, They've been there for
Russell Madia six seven years ago, whatever it was five
years ago, and.
Speaker 3 (39:00):
You know, it's not like they don't know how to
mic these places.
Speaker 1 (39:03):
Mass well andrew and not only that, but what I
was also saying was when you got to the gun
there and see them punk thing, you could hear individual
people talking and cheering, so they were well miked up,
and every time you looked like right right, but also
every time you looked at the audience, especially during some
of the bigger highlights, there was a lot of people
(39:23):
just sitting on their hands, not moving, just staring straight ahead.
Speaker 6 (39:27):
I genuinely believe because the card was not that kind
of like can't miss, can't miss.
Speaker 5 (39:33):
This, never saw this before, you know, other than the
main and I do think the main they did wake up.
They both got good reactions, not you know, fifty thousand
stadium reactions, but they got better reactions, and the opener
had strong reactions.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
But the reaction of.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
The night for being honest was seth cashing in. It
was raucous, dude, and Seth winning you.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
Really felt you really felt that this card looked bad
on paper, I know, I mean other than the main
I thought the women, I thought, well, yeah, only.
Speaker 3 (40:08):
Because you thought Cross might win.
Speaker 6 (40:09):
Only because you thought Cross might win, and if he won,
we'd all be like, the right decision, long overdue, Sammy
puts Cross overclean, one of my favorite matches.
Speaker 3 (40:19):
But instead they said fuck you.
Speaker 1 (40:20):
I agree. No, no, I'm not talking about the results,
but I'm saying, on paper, when you're buying a ticket,
you see which matches you have on there. Right, the
Roman Reigns and Drew so bron Breaker and Bronson Reid thing.
I thought that would have been an exciting match because
at no point where we supposed to write using the
quote fingers believe that Seth Rollins was coming back. So
(40:41):
this was one of those cases where well, this is
really up to Bronson, Reid and bron Breaker to establish
themselves as guys who can walk on their own without
Seth Rowlins. So I thought, okay, this could be interesting.
The Charlotte Flair Alexa Bliss thing versus Judgment Day, I thought, okay,
that's that's the one for the guy that like to
look at the ladies, right, that was that match. You
(41:04):
can appreciate Charlotte Flair in the ring, and you can appreciate,
you know, Alexa Bliss and how she looks and how
much merch she sells. I saw Jeff beIN in the
chat earlier saying she's a she's a money printing machine.
At this point, who cares about her matches? Fine, but
then people are still gonna want to see her match
just because of that reason. The Sammy and Cross stuff.
(41:26):
Interesting concept, interesting storyline. I thought that would carry weight.
Tiffany versus Jade Cargill another one of those. This is
for those kind of fans. This is for the casual fans.
The casual fans should love Tiffany Stratton versus Jade Cargo
see him Punk versus Gun There print fucking money. Fantastic match.
Speaker 3 (41:45):
It proved that's delivered, and that delivered one hundred percent
every way.
Speaker 1 (41:49):
Jelly roll match is the only match. And even though
I love Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton, I think they're
both on their fucking peak right now. That was the
only match. I was like, Ah, this is gonna be stupid, Like,
out of.
Speaker 6 (42:01):
All that's my worst match of the night, just out
of principle. I just unnecessary a lot of people sitting
in the back. You got nothing going on, and you're
doing this with these guys. You know that's my That's
my worst match of the night, and my best is
that main. I thought that Maid was great. I really
really was impressed with how Punk like the way they
(42:24):
kind of were burying Punkong commentary a little bit and
bringing up his age and he looks like an old
guy who's trying to look like a younger.
Speaker 3 (42:32):
Guy and he's taken all that shit. I thought that
was a great story.
Speaker 1 (42:36):
I love Gunther, I love.
Speaker 6 (42:39):
The work Punk has done since he's been back. I
think is so understated. And I used to bash Punk
mish on this fucking show to death. We used to
goof on Punk all the time. I remember getting shit
saying Punk's like a lot of people I know who
are adult straight edges. They don't act and they have
bad social skills. And people sent me like hateful dms
(43:00):
and screenshot it. But at the at the end of
the day, I think this was one of the better
w w E matches of the year, especially as a
main I think that's the kind of main event match
you want to have. I did not like the Seth
Gloryhole celebration, but take the match for what it was
(43:21):
and that I think I think that was one of
the better matches of the year.
Speaker 1 (43:25):
I don't know what you guys, what did you think?
Speaker 2 (43:27):
I agree? I agree with that completely. Did you One
thing that I did notice? One thing that I did
notice about that that opener was it It just sort
of like struck me odd because we're not used to seeing,
you know, on these uh outdoor uh super shows, not
used to seeing like Roman come out in daylight.
Speaker 1 (43:44):
So that was just like, yeah, curtin jerk.
Speaker 2 (43:47):
Yeah, So I was that. That was like I was like,
I hope this isn't on the stage for the night,
and it kind of did.
Speaker 1 (43:55):
Ronson Reid almost killed match because there was a point
where Bronson Reid did the fucking the suicide dive outside
of the ring and Jay and Roman were supposed to
catch him and he stopped the floor with his face
and they replayed it. He No, he needs to slow
the fuck down. Bronson Reid is a big guy. No, No,
(44:19):
Bronson Reid not bron Breaker. Bronson Reid was the one
that jumped outside the ring and he went so fast
and so hard that Roman and Jay couldn't catch him.
And it's like he slowed down with his face on
the floor, and I'm like, ah, he's gonna kill himself.
Like I love Bronson Reid. He does have that new
one man getting energy, but I don't want him to
(44:42):
fucking die on a curtain jerker.
Speaker 4 (44:44):
You know.
Speaker 1 (44:44):
It's I don't know what they're trying to do, if
they're trying to elevate these guys and make them seem
larger than life, ready for that main event status.
Speaker 6 (44:53):
But yeah, well, well look do we have to I
think we have to take the position that Braun is
actually hurt.
Speaker 2 (45:00):
All I'm very close to landing on his head.
Speaker 3 (45:02):
Yeah, Roman, Yeah that spot. If Raun is hurt, this
kind of impacts everything that's going on. I don't know,
especially you know, with Seth getting the belt back. I
have to presume Braun is hurt. I didn't hate that match,
but I you know, I just felt like it wouldn't
have like like what like the outcome to me felt
inconsequential regardless off one, if that makes sense. So it's like,
(45:25):
so if these win and that happens to who cares
if these wines? You know, Like I like Messia didn't
feel like it was a must win for either one
of them, And I don't.
Speaker 1 (45:32):
Know, I looked at it differently. I thought, look, if
if Bronson and bron Breaker win this, it was kind
of their big boy moment, like, oh, we get to
put on the pants and do what we want to
do now instead of what's set help?
Speaker 3 (45:43):
But that to established Seth help, because.
Speaker 1 (45:45):
I mean bron Breaker even on Monday, it was like,
I'm going to be the one leading us until Seth's
back or whatever the fuck else, And I'm like, okay,
can you get behind this? I liked it. I liked
the idea of bron Breaker being able to speak for himself.
The guy has colorful promos. Bronson Reid is a great
fucking secondary There's nothing wrong with the dude. Those two
guys could have literally gone out there by themselves or
(46:07):
even with Paul Hayman for the next six months and
tore people a new asshole and I would have been
perfectly fine with that. But you know, now, losing to
Roman Reigns and USO the way they did just clean
like that.
Speaker 5 (46:18):
Yeah, I know, yeah, and you have Like I said,
if if Prawn is hurt, whatever they have planned might
change on the fly.
Speaker 3 (46:27):
I just I don't know.
Speaker 6 (46:27):
It just didn't feel it would have been great to
see the younger guys win for the profile, but for
the storyline, it doesn't make sense.
Speaker 5 (46:35):
I feel like we're two months away from an uber
Roman push, like just a massive, massive Roman push, and
I'm so not interested, just not interested at all.
Speaker 1 (46:45):
More Roman, more Seth, guys, that's what we got to
look forward to. So that's pretty much it.
Speaker 3 (46:50):
That's why Seth was elevated six matches on the card.
Speaker 1 (46:54):
Night one Andrew favorite least favorite match overall grade my
friend overall.
Speaker 2 (47:00):
I'd say the main event was my best up until
like once it got going least favorite I think I got.
I think I go with the jelly Roll match.
Speaker 1 (47:12):
Grade.
Speaker 2 (47:14):
Le give it a T minus old bordering D plus.
Speaker 1 (47:18):
John.
Speaker 6 (47:19):
I'm literally gonna say the same thing because I think
it's very evident the main event was spectacular, miles above
the whole undercard.
Speaker 2 (47:26):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (47:27):
The jelly Roll thing just was not interesting.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
It fell very rushed all of that. You know, I
thought I.
Speaker 3 (47:33):
Hated that match. I just hated the whole thing, and
I'm gonna give this.
Speaker 6 (47:39):
I was gonna give it a D, a D plus
the C minus, very similar to Andrew, because.
Speaker 3 (47:44):
I thought that Main was so fucking good.
Speaker 6 (47:47):
Really like if I bought Miss, If I spent a
lot of money and was sitting there board to death
and after that Main, I would have been like, oh
my god, that was total, you know, like when the band.
Speaker 3 (47:57):
Finally plays the song you really wanted to hear.
Speaker 1 (48:00):
That's what it felt like. I see the Paul results
from Dan on YouTube so far before I get into
mine real quick, what would you graat WWE SummerSlam twenty
twenty five Night one? We had at a seventeen percent,
B had forty six percent, C He's had twenty one percent,
and D and F are at seventeen percent. So most
(48:20):
people give it a B rating.
Speaker 3 (48:22):
You know.
Speaker 1 (48:22):
For me, I agree with both of you guys. As
far as my favorite match easily Cempunk versus Gunther. I
want to see a series of these matches. These two
guys work really well together, and I would enjoy Gunther
running down about how old CM punk is and how
he doesn't have it anymore. Et cetera, et cetera, and
I could see that going back and forth, and then
(48:43):
just the arrogance is something that Campunk would rip apart
with a guy like Gunther. But my least favorite match
is completely different than yours. I gotta say Sammy and
Carry and Cross, because I think you ruined two people
in this match, and Sammy no longer has the come
up and s or that moment to have self awareness
that maybe he isn't as good as he is, adding
(49:05):
more character depth to him, and Cross goes nowhere from this.
Cross losing this match does absolutely nothing but just stops
the momentum of his career. For me, that is shit.
I cannot forgive on the part of WWE. I hate
that stuff. I having a bad match is one thing
I understand sometimes that people like fucking Jelly Roll are
(49:26):
gonna only only be able to do as much as
he's able to do. But when you have two guys
like Sammy, Zay and Cross who you know are capable,
both are capable people of telling a great fucking story,
and whoever's scribbling down the fucking results of who goes
Over doesn't seem to understand the direction that they potentially
(49:47):
have with the fans and with two of these guys' careers. Yeah,
I can't forgive that they fucked up. They fucked up.
Cross his momentum by this. Even if he comes out
there Monday and says, I'm still evil and I'm going
to find the evil this week in in Umberto or
fucking Dragon Lee or it doesn't fucking matter. The Sammy
(50:07):
storyline was important, and Sammy goes on to uh, basically
he gets to be the idiot a little while longer,
and now he's vindicated for it to and it's just
it's just horseshit through and through. H I'm gonna be
mean on this. I'm channeling my inner Joey numbers as
great as the main event was with that Seth Rollins
shit at the end of it, It's a perfect f
(50:28):
a perfect fuck us, fuck you, fuck everyone.
Speaker 3 (50:33):
Third before throwing one hundred thousand recaptures with you, I've
never heard an f from you.
Speaker 1 (50:38):
Yeah, I I fuck it's We're gonna get eight more
months of this guy. We're gonna get this guy until
wrestle Mania with this title and guaranteed every Monday night,
twenty minutes of Seth Rollins h just fucking.
Speaker 2 (50:53):
CSI on the fus side though, Caring crustdon't come out
and gladiator gear.
Speaker 1 (50:58):
Yeah it's big. Yeah, you could sell some Trojan condoms
in another month for real, because be gone from the company.
I just yeah, I I am very unhappy. If this
is the sign of things to come, I am I'm not, dude.
I've been enjoying Raw since he's been gone. That was
one of the funniest things we were even talking about that,
(51:18):
laughing at the fact of did you realize how good
Raw has been without Seth? Like, yeah, I mean other
than the Lyre's ship, other than the Lyre's shit, it's
been great.
Speaker 3 (51:28):
They dude, Roman got cancer, Moxley left.
Speaker 4 (51:32):
They love him like, they absolutely love him, just like
they loved Hunter at the end of the like ruthless attitude, slash,
ruthless aggression in the beginning era for nothing, just for
exist thing.
Speaker 3 (51:46):
There was way better people than you could have put
in these roles. Daughter, But even before that, he was
getting a massive you know, push.
Speaker 1 (51:57):
Dick, I was deep Dick and Stephanie mcmall look. The
Hunter thing. To even put that in the same category
with Seth is mind blowing to me. Because at least
the Hunter Helmsley McMahon era ship was funny, that weird
crossover that they had in those days with the Authority
(52:19):
and d X. They were fucking with everybody's matches like
they were great assholes. Hunter Triple H was a great
asshole when he was on fire, even the evolution st
I never liked him. I never liked him. Sorry, yeah,
but I don't know, man, Tonight, I I don't ever
(52:40):
want to see Night one again. I'll watch the cm
punk and Gunther match, but as great as it was,
it could not carry the rest of the show for me. Third,
I mean, can I get more Nikki Bella's Delivery Pizza
delivery movies? Because Jesus Christ, I don't know. But yeah,
So tomorrow night it'll be a repeat. It'll be myself
(53:01):
and Joey Numbers will make his return nice and I'm
sure he'll have a lot to say. Oh I can't wait.
Oh my god, dude. But Andrew John, thank you very
much for joining me. John, please plug spitball media, sir.
Speaker 6 (53:14):
Yes, So every week and do a little show. We
talk about movies, me and and Shaheen and b Sho Brian.
We watch movie trailers.
Speaker 3 (53:23):
We do reviews, and we cover entertainment news, So you
want to go to Spitball Media for that.
Speaker 1 (53:28):
Well, are you guys looking forward to that new The
Wrestler movie with The Rock in it? Yeah? Because I
love that. I love The Smashing Machine.
Speaker 6 (53:34):
I remember watching that, and I've seen Mark Kerr because
I used to order UFC back then, and he looks
just like him, talks like him. I like the Safti Brothers.
You know, this is Benny Safne of the Safti Brothers
directing for I think for the first time. He's known
mostly as an actor, but him and his brother directs
some cool movies, you know.
Speaker 3 (53:54):
I think it looks great.
Speaker 6 (53:56):
I'm very curious because the guy they got, the Mark Coleman,
is Ryan Bader, who was a UC fighter and he
can't act, And I Mark Coleman was such a big,
scary looking dude.
Speaker 3 (54:08):
I'm excited about it. But I feel like this is
it for the Rock.
Speaker 6 (54:12):
Like if he doesn't get manage, like if they don't
give him like legit credibility after this, he might as
well just do Jumanji type movies till he's seventy five.
Speaker 1 (54:22):
Yeah, I mean that's probably what's gonna happen. I don't.
I don't think the Rash has much left in him
anyways at this point, I mean as far as yeah
on TV or in a movie, because I mean, and
I see people already saying that the Rock is going
to make his return real quick rundown. Tomorrow night, we
got to Naomi and Rio Ripley and EO Sky in
a triple threat Becky versus Bird Girl Solo versus Jacob
(54:43):
Dominic versus AJ Styles, which I'm kind of looking forward to.
Then we got the tag team Gaga match with the
Wyatt six Androde in Phoenix, DIY for Fraxium, MotorCity machine
Guns and street Profits for the title. And then and
probably most likely hopefully the main event of John Cena
versus Cody Rhoades.
Speaker 5 (55:04):
So yeah, much better card on paper and beyond. I
think you're gonna be sitting a different tune tomorrow. I
think we all will be.
Speaker 6 (55:11):
I just I don't know what they're gonna do with
the main which is exciting, but also the undercard sounds great.
There's so many great workers on there. A lot of
these people are over especially like EO. Sky and Rhea
are like white fucking hot. I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker 3 (55:25):
Andre.
Speaker 1 (55:25):
I think tomorrow is a better show.
Speaker 2 (55:27):
Yeah, I think this has definitely has more potential. WrestleMania.
The Woman's three way was easily the match of the weekend,
so I'm sort of expecting. I'm not expecting, but I
wouldn't be surprised if that stole the show.
Speaker 1 (55:39):
