This is FCB Radio. We're realcluck lifts. Visit us online at FCB
radio dot com. I'll spell itb D you m M period stupid.
The reason that bad things happen toyou, it is because you're a dumba,

(00:23):
all right. So the things thatwe men do for love, sometimes
you know, they've all been afool straw and sometimes we're dummy. And
would you would you give with thatthat men sometimes they're fools for love and
they they're they're dummies. Yeah,I think that can be true. That's

(00:46):
certainly true, like breaking your manout of jail anyway. So, okay,
weddings can be expensive, right,Sometimes could be a little tough to
get your honey the wedding she wants. And know sometimes you may not be
afore the ring you want. Sothis man in Texas was having trouble paying

(01:07):
for wing for his wife and hegot down to like the day before um,
the wedding, and he decided torob a bank. Oh my god,
now it gets better. A Texasman was arrested after his fiance saw

(01:33):
a Facebook post of him robbing abank the day before their wedding was the
one who turned him in. Noshe convinced him to turn himself and he
he had to be named heath heEdward, bump Us said, was charged
with aggravated robbery after his wife tobe allegedly convinced him to surrender himself to

(01:56):
the police. His confession came afterhis fiance he reached a shocking realization while
scrolling through social media. It allstarted when Trinity County Chriff Wallace Woody Wallace
post The sheriff's name was Woody Wallace. This is great posted off Yeah,
seeing straight out of Mayberry artist.Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace posted photos of

(02:20):
a suspected bank robber on his Facebookpage. This is a great picture of
him too. Fantastic picture, isn'tit good? Yeah, make sure you
sent me that story so he canput it on the Facebook page. And
the images depicted the bearded man wearingall black exitingle Citizen State banking Groveston,
Texas. You ever heard of grovesin Texas? Ashley Groveston, Yeah,
in Trinity County. I don't evenknow who that is. I don't know

(02:42):
where it is either, probably somesmall pole dun Bumpetts heated his fiances advice
and headed to the Houston County Courthousewhere he confessed. It was then he
told the police his motive. Hebasically sayd that he was getting married tomorrow,
so he didn't have enough money fora wedding ring that he wanted to
buy, and he needed to payfor the wedding venue. The sheriff said
that Buffish trial will be headed toheaded by grand or by grand jury,

(03:06):
and officers had master recovered most ofthe stolen money. It's unclear when,
if if he Bumpus and it's fiancewill finally have their wedding. No kidding,
he didn't even cover his face oranything. No, you can totally.
I mean you can see him veryclearly in these pictures that were posted
on social media. So this islike a good old boy Bumpus Bumpus,

(03:27):
I would think the wedding day onhold for now. Yeah, you know,
it's unclear when will have the wedding. You think I'll have it in
the jail, Okay. I haveto say, I'm not surprised this happened
in the South, in Texas wherethey these big blowout weddings or a thing.
Now, you went to school inTexas, right, I went to
high school in Texas for two years, so I've lived there. My parents

(03:52):
actually lived there three years, butso I have friends there and I went
to my ten year reunion. Um, I think there is a serious problem
with people having expectations that are skyhigh for their weddings compared to their actual
budget. People are being I'm notdefending the guy or anything obviously robbing a
bank, like come on, butlike people are feeling like they have to

(04:16):
spend Like okay, Texas Magazine, which is a big magazine or Texas Monthly,
whatever it's called, was giving outawards for like the best weddings,
and then they did a special categorybest Wedding under eighty thousand dollars or something
like that, implying that that's likea budget wedding. The average wedding,

(04:39):
the average in the US costs somethinglike twenty five thousand dollars. It's almost
it's nearing thirty thousand dollars, whichis out of control. People are going
to extreme lengths to not the thirtythousand. I'm using the exchange rate in
Latin American country side, getting adeal you pay for your wedding and pacils.

(05:11):
Yes, I am wow, gogo, gadget dollars. Astley,
Did you have a big blowout wedding? No, Um, I had a
nice wedding. Um it was itwas a small or medium sized venue.
U. My mom and I madea lot of the decorations. Um.

(05:33):
My mom is very into decorating,so she did a lot of the work
herself. We got married in theCatholic church. That didn't cost anything.
I think total it probably costs liketen thousand dollars, which is not bad.
Yeah these days yeaheah. I meanmy older sister's wedding costing me like
seventy five thousand dollars and we hadwe didn't. Hers wasn't that much bigger

(05:55):
in terms of people. It's justthe choices that you make in terms of
venue. She just just to giveyou an idea. Even if you're talking
about weddings approaching thirty thousand dollars, the median income for for individuals here in
the United States is thirty three thousand, So you're talking about annually somebody's whole
annual income. Wow, let mesee a picture of this guy. What's
what's his name again? He bumpingheath? Is that you you know what

(06:21):
I'll say this about the guy.I think he's obviously a dummy. You
respect his ingenuity. Yeah, Well, the thing is he was going to
rob the bank and then pay forthe venue and and and for his ring
with the proceeds from his But thefool, as said, the fool didn't
have him a mask on or nothing. Now I'll show you the picture.

(06:42):
But but you know what, here'shere's the things that because I heard a
story of a man who was havingfinancial trouble. His wife was his stay
at home mom, he had twolittle boys. He was a financial trader
and business didn't go well. Hegot lost his job and he started robbing
banks and ended up getting sense tolike eleven years in jail. I think

(07:05):
it's tragedy when somebody goes to thatlength to think it's gonna be you know,
Okay, your motive maybe right. He wanted he didn't want his wife
to have to lose the house. He didn't want her life disrupted. I
get that, But you disrupted anywaybecause you got sent to eleven years in
prison. You get caught. Andwhy is bank robbery still the thing?
Because like, you never get awaywith it. I know it's a catch

(07:28):
rate. You know, so whyif you're a criminal, because you're gonna
do some criminality, why would youdo something that's because because they don't know
statistics. If they don't because thatinvolves math, because because they know that
is easy. Because the banks aretaught to basically turn off the money to

(07:49):
do. If you have a note, you have an excellent chance of getting
out of there with the money becausethey will just give it to you.
But then they're gonna kich you.Yeah, but you'll you But most of
them have drug problems. Most bankrobbers have dropped so they're high by then
they try to get caught, soit's after a very calculated risk. Well

(08:09):
I'm gonna go to jail. I'mgonna go to jail. But I just
think that the wife though, youknow, she thought about having life with
this guy, but he is nownow he didn't use a gun. Very
smart because I say, if you'regonna be yeah, if you're gonna be
a criminal, there's two things youshouldn't do if you absolutely have to be

(08:31):
a criminal. Rules to being acriminal by Khaledan Mars. Don't hurt,
don't hurt anyone, and don't usea weapon. Don't use a gun because
you'll be back out on the street. But if you use a weapon and
you actually hurt someone, you're you'rereally really sailing. He ain't serving all
eleven in the years. No,we don't know what bumpus is. Yeah,
Buffers will probably in Texas for RobinBank without a gun. He might

(08:54):
get three years for this, right, you know? Um, And I
think they'll have some SEMTI form, you know, because he tried to do
the right thing. It wasn't forlove. But I think he'll get he'll
get he'll get three years. He'llget three years. But what a beautiful
but Khalid always brings the beautiful lovestory. But a romantic story, all

(09:15):
right, But well, he givesus hope for love, after all,
I ain't that right? Will Willshe wait for him though she turned him
in? No, she convinced himto turn himself in, which was smart
because the home put each other's handson through the glass doors. Would you
wait for your man in prison now? So you ain't ride My fiance went

(09:41):
first of all. I would hopeI'd have better judgment than that. I'm
saying hope. Yeah, you neverknow. I don't know the best track,
right here. But um, butif he's crazy enough to rob a
bank and said just saying, hey, I can't really afford this wedding ring
right now or whatever, um,I would bring me very worried about what

(10:01):
else he would be willing to dojust for not just for me, but
for like personal gain, Like thatis very very reckless. Well, and
especially like if he's your fiance, then he should know you and know that
you would appreciate that. You'd appreciate, you'd understand if he was just honest
with you and said, look,I can't afford to ring right you would
do what you ain't getting on thepole. Well, I wouldn't do that.

(10:24):
But there is too much emphasis onrings and uh, you know,
expensive venues, and there's the amountof money and um like fanfare that goes
in these weddings, and so manyof them end up breaking up. I
think we've got our priorities all wrong. So I want my next wedding,

(10:46):
if I ever get married again,to be even cheaper like wedding on a
budget. Listen, listen, goto South America. Yeah, and pay
for it and pay so let's toddplan your wedding. Hey, that's not
a bad idea. Thank you. You're like, what is the overall building
American dollars? This cost me fortyeight dollars. Had a whole blowout wedding.

(11:13):
When when when I when I wanteddollars? When I went to Colombia
and I fed, I fed ninepeople, it would cost one hundred and
thirty nine dollars and included the tipWait a minute, you for how many
people? Nine people? For howmuch? One hundred and thirty six dollars.
They included the tip you don't spendthat much on us? What does
