Speaker 1 (00:01):
Most of us eat every day, some of us too
much because yesterday's food is not enough to supply energy
for today's needs. Why then, do some of us expect
yesterday's portion of heavenly manna, the word of God to
keep us through today's challenges. On this program, we are
going to change all of that. Let's experience God's words
(00:22):
today and receive the power we need to live healthy,
vibrant lives. Welcome to your Daily Portion with your host,
author speaker, Elle David Harris.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Good morning, good morning, Good morning, it is Friday. It's
May thirty, twenty twenty five. Hello, my name is El
David Harris. I am your host, and this is your
Daily Portion where we give you God's Word every single day,
and today is no exception. We are continuing in our
lesson study series how to study Bible Prophecy, and our
(00:54):
caption for today is Heaven's Direction. Heaven's Direction. And before
we get into that, I'd like to just say welcome
to everyone joining us, especially those joining us for the
very first time. And I want to say a great,
big happy birthday and shout out to my wife, Simone.
Simone is fifty three today. You don't have to think
(01:15):
you told the world when you were fifty, so yeah,
fifty three today. And I'm grateful because because there are
so many ways that God is using you these days,
and especially with those women who are going through perimenopause
and menopause. So I'm thankful. I'm thankful that you are
still here because there are a lot of people who
(01:36):
need you, and I know Josiah and I need you.
So thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you God
for extending Simone's days. Happy birthday, Simone. Let's go ahead
and pray and then we will get underway. Father, we
do thank you this day for your words. Thank you
for this day of preparation. Thank you for giving us
(01:58):
the fullness of your power were in these last days,
and for the fact that you've charted the course and
shown us your vision and direction for heavenly things. Please
please help us to be in lockstep with you. In
Jesus name, I pray, Amen and a man again Heaven's direction.
(02:20):
I'm going to begin by reading the quote from the
Acts of the Apostles, page thirty seven, right out of
the lesson. During the Patriarchal Age, the influence of the
Holy Ghost had often been revealed in a marked manner,
but never in his fullness. Now, in obedience to the
(02:42):
word of the Savior, the disciples offered their supplications for
this gift, the gift of what the outpouring of the
Holy Ghost. For that time okay, and in heaven. Christ
added his intercession. He claimed the gift of the Holy Spirit,
(03:02):
that he might pour that gift upon the people. Man
say that last part one more time, God claimed Jesus,
I'm sorry, Jesus, the Son of God, and God, the
Son Jesus claimed the gift of the Holy Spirit, that
he might pour the Holy Ghost upon us, his people,
(03:26):
upon us his people. When you receive from God, are
you receiving in order to give the reason the dead sea?
And I may be overstating it, but yeah, the reason
the dead sea is dead is because it receives, receives,
receives and doesn't give. It receives but doesn't give. It
doesn't flow out to anywhere, to bless anywhere. And so
(03:48):
we are not to be dead sees. We are to
be we are to be living waters because Christ poured
upon us living waters. So when we receive the gifts
of the Holy Ghost, the purpose is to edify the
people of God and to go out into the world
and to assist people to get close to God. I'm understating,
(04:11):
but let me just continue. The disciples were instructed to
bear witness to Christ to the end of the earth
in Acts chapter one and verse eight, and work that
would herald a work that would herald the return of Christ.
We are to continue what they started. When Christ told
(04:35):
us to carry the Gospel into the world, he didn't
leave us alone to figure it out. How would it happen?
Of course, Heaven's direction from the sanctuary. God gave us
the blueprint, the plan of Salvation's blueprint. He gave to
us and then empowered us through the Holy Ghost. And
(04:56):
so what we're going to do now is share a
couple of a couple of questions and then of response
that I think you can work with. Okay, how can
we better fulfill the mission that Christ is using us
to fulfill? How do we avoid the despair knowing so
(05:17):
many are still unreached? Can you imagine how many millions
of people don't know God? How do we avoid that despair?
Let me just begin here. Follow the Holy Ghost. Follow
the Holy Ghost. There are many times, there are many
times that the people of God have have retreats and trainings, etc.
(05:37):
And those are great. I mean we should, and we're
learning principles and learning strategies, but we need the Holy
Ghost more than we need our formulas. Okay, So we
get the formulas, we get the blueprint, we get the strategies,
we get the tactics from God through the Holy Ghost,
and then we move out into the world. But sometimes
(05:58):
we trust our strategies more than we trust God. We
trust our tactics more than we trust God. We trust
our abilities, our perfectly knit plans, we trust those more
than we trust God. So God doesn't need new inventions,
He needs faithful vessels. I remember em Bounds said something
(06:19):
very similar to what I just said, and he said,
God is not looking for more strategies. I think he said,
not looking for more plans. He's looking for faithful people.
He's not looking for more plans. He's not looking for
more plans. He's looking for more men in the words
that he wrote in the eighteen hundreds, but more people,
(06:41):
people to serve him. So we work locally while praying globally.
We work locally while we are praying globally. This is
what we should ask God, who is ready and already
pared around me, who was ready and already prepared around me.
(07:07):
There are times that we will encounter people just like
the apostle encountered the eunuch that time in the Book
of Acts, and he asked him, like, do you know
what you're reading? He knew he was reading from the
scrolls of Isaiah, and he was like, do you understand
what you're reading? And he was like, how can I
understand except somebody, somebody teach me. And of course the
(07:29):
Bible says that God opened up this man's understanding. And
then of course he was baptized right then and right there,
because God had already been preparing him. He sent a
messenger to him. They closed the deal, and I know
what I just said. We can say it many ways.
He closed the deal like he closed it. And now
(07:51):
the man is baptized and of course saved. So resist despair.
Resist despair by trusting the one who commanded the angels
to fly in the midst of heaven. We are not alone.
Heaven is all involved, those seraphim, those cherubim, the creatures
(08:11):
that we don't understand fully. But God has given us
a window into that are at his behest serving him.
Those who excel in strength, those heavenly angels are at
work to move according to his guidance. Here's an encouraging
(08:31):
text in Acts, chapter one and verse eight I made
reference to and it reads, ye shall receive power power dunamus,
that is holy ghost power, after the Holy Ghost has
come upon you. And that was way back then when
Jesus had just gone back to Heaven after his after
his resurrection. Right, and ye shall be my witnesses unto
(08:55):
the unnermost part of the earth. That is basically what
the Bible is teaching there into the most part of
the earth. So, if God gave his first century believers
dynamite power, what kind of power has he given his
people in the last days? What is Heaven's direction in
these last days? If he gave them thousands of years
(09:17):
ago when the enemy was not allowed to do some
of the dark stuff that he's doing today at the
scale that he is doing it today, how much more
power through the Holy Ghost is God giving to us today?
We are in the position now to receive the latter reign,
the fullness of the outpouring of God's Holy Spirit, so
(09:39):
that we can follow Heaven's direction and the world who
loves him and be saved.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
